If you love reading family books, then you should read "Cheat the Moon" that's about a family who is struggling to stay together.

The story takes place in a house where a 12 year-old girl named Gabby takes care of her little brother Will. The only problem is that there father didn't come back for days, so Gabby goes on a search to find her dad. As she keeps finding her father, she meets a friend named Joseph. He says that her wife has seen Gabby's dad.

I was surprised when she met one of her dad's friends and the friend was hugging and crushing Gabby, but Joseph came and helped Gabby. Later, when Gabby is hiding under the window in her house, she sees Joseph lying her dad on the front porch. She then examines him. He had dirty matted hair, a stink, sweat, beer, vomit, and urine. I don't know why he was so messy.

At the end of the story, her father dies after a mill accident, and Clara would take care of Gabby and Will. Then in the epilogue, Gabby now realizes what her mother meant "Cheat the Moon."

In conclusion, I would rate this book on a scale 5 out of 5 because this is an amazing and adventurous book I have ever read. I would recommend this book to people who have faced what Gabby and Will did. Struggle.

It's a very touching novel. It made me cry.
The long wait of Gabby and Will was repaid for their father's homecoming and for the change he made of himself. Sana ganto din si papa
