The Origin Series is empire building at its finest, with 100 episodes and over 2.5 million words in the military science fiction serial detailing the rise of Star Force from corporate entity into an interstellar empire over the course of more than a millennium.
Follow a core group of characters known as the Trailblazers as they use alien technology and knowledge discovered in Antarctic ruins to obtain limited immortality and lead Humanity out into the galaxy, encountering, befriending, and fighting hundreds of alien races all the while desperately trying to prepare Earth for the unbeatable threat at the core of the Milky Way that is destined to return and reclaim their lost colony…and their former Human slaves.
Aer-ki Jyr is one of the top 20 science fiction authors on Amazon due to his extremely long and ongoing space opera epic STAR FORCE, one of the longest military science fiction series ever written.
The war is taking an interesting turn, with SF taking in all of these other races. It almost feels like forming a federation or a miniature version of the dino empire. I want them to circle back on the bioweapons scumbags and I don't know why but I get the distinct feeling that the crystaline-structure species is going to interact with them in some way. Glad to see a lot of power brokering going on. I know that just means more battle is coming next book.
Also, I feel like it would be nice to be reminded more often about the qualities each species has. The names don't do it for me nearly enough.
Enjoyed this series mostly overall. At some point it does get a bit tedious and you have to take a break and go into some other series and I will probably come back to read more of this. But it's the basic premise of the original books, just strewn about different storylines and at some point it gets a bit repetitive for myself only because there's so many subsequent books in this series. It is somewhat unique that there really isn't a main character. There are higher level characters that they come back to, but it's not your typical single action hero or main character that is solid throughout the whole storyline. Those change as you go through it
Much the same, New allies, New races, New technologies. The different technology is fascinating, keep bringing it in. But don't forget the people, no matter what shape they are. No matter what genre you write in, it's people that carry the story. If the people in the story don't have the reader caring for them, it don't matter how many horses, lace petticoats, swords, or Ray Guns you toss in it ain't gonna happen.
Star Force Mech drivers are fighting against Skarrons attacking Protovick. He is working w/ Dina to take down level-one Skarron mechs. Kip generates a force sword. Morgan is monitoring Paul's progress up-dating his mental powers. He now can generate a bioshield.
There are many different civilization and just like people, they come with differing ways of dealing with life Many are trustworthy and some are ruthless and opportunistic Star Force is working to stay trustworthy, helpful and still achieve their goal - walking a delicate line as this could be interpreted as opportunistic by some
Getting to many wars going at once makes it harder to believe. Like bringing in New and interesting races. Mostly war SIFI with enough empire building mixed in to hold the interest of someone not into that sort of thing.
The story seems to be exploding in many different directions. Hoping to get more detailed information an original characters new abilities and skills. Anxious to see where this new plot line is leading. Looking forward to the next chapter in this series.
Significant expansion of the SF Storyline - GoorD Read
This book marks a significant expansion of the Star Force storyline and is told through the lens of less focus on individual characters and more through the lens of a larger galactic conflict. Still a very good, quick read.
There are just too many grammatic errors in this series for me to continue. The premise started well early in the series but now it is repetitive and formulaic
Another great book. I think this is my 3rd time reading the series! From normal humans to the most super human. And you watch them struggle forward for centuries.
