Oaths of Gold and Iron

You promised us, when we gave you the world to go to war, that you would remember your vows. You promised to leave our sacred places intact, to leave sacrifices for us, to remember us in your songs. You promised that when the War of Seasons ended, you would stand aside for us, the true rulers of the world. You lied.

The Truce Falls with the Blackened Sun

Dark Ages: Fae is the book for playing the "Good Folk." Some have bred with humanity and inherited our understanding of the world, some are born of the Earth and the elements, and the rest spring from the very stuff of Creation itself. This book provides complete information on playing fae characters, including details on their society, their magic and their perception of the world. This book requires the use of Dark Ages: Vampire.

Finally got my hands on a copy of this after years and years (literally, years!!) of wanting it.

Neat system. I used to love (and play) Changeling: The Dreaming so I was curious about the more "heyday" of the Fae in this one. I can see the connection between the two and it makes a logical offshoot which would be familiar for Changeling fans.

I don't like that the book continually tells you to reference rules in Vampire: Dark Ages. That's annoying. They should have put all the pertinent rules in THIS book.

It's also not nearly as pretty as the older Changeling books were at their peak. It's black and white (no color art) and most of the art is just ok. Still, it's decently laid out and thoughtful and high on content.

I'm glad I finally had a chance to check it out and add it to my collection.

Short version: neat setting, seems to work, no idea about the rules, and I don't think I'm likely to run it as is. Might crib for another fantasy game, I suppose.
