More like a 2.5, but I'm rounding up.
For what this is-- kinky erotica, it delivers. If your looking for plot, it's definitely thin. The sex abounds and is well written (even with some editing issues). I suppose where the disappointment comes in is in the last part of the book when there's the promise of an actual suspenseful story, but it goes nowhere. If you ignore the threat that's left hanging, this could be seen as an HFN (happy for now) ending. But knowing there are big things left unfinished, this has to be classified as a cliffhanger.
Even knowing I was going in to read erotica, I couldn't help but want that thin plot to be fleshed out. I guess I just need more story with my sex.

First off, I just want to say that I love author Roxie Rivera so when she released this novella under her new pen name, Lola Rivera, I couldn't get my hands on this fast enough. So, as you can see it pains me to rate this novella 1 star.
I've also read works from her other former pen name Lolita Lopez and have really enjoyed them as well so I already knew and expected that this read was going to be heavier on the sex. However, this novella was only that. Just literally sex throughout the whole ~100+ pages. Even I got exhausted from reading the back to back to back sex scenes. There was no plot or storyline. Even if there was, it was so weak and poorly written that I must have missed it.
Gage and Meg are step siblings and from the time Gage catches Meg in his bed naked and masturbating it was just non stop sex between these two. Don't get me wrong. I love when there's erotic sex in my romance stories, but I also like a plot as well and I like being able to emotionally connect with the characters. I honestly felt nothing towards Gage and Meg and I knew nothing about them other than what was on the surface.
As I got to the end/cliffhanger, we are told that this novella will be getting a sequel. Looks like Gage and Meg's story will be continued in CLAIMED BY THE BAD COP. Seriously? There's no need for a sequel. I don't see the point or need for it really.
ETA: I don't understand why the disclaimer says that this novella is complete with no cliffhanger when that's not true.

There is a upcoming sequel.
Like others have mentioned, this story is mostly sex scenes. Maybe the sequel will have more of a story line. I did like the fact that he wasn't a jerk. The market is flooded with enough of those.

As sort-steps...they never lived in the same house and the age gap meant they didn't even associate on his leave from being a military sniper...now as a SWAT cop, she needs to hide out at his place after she testifies against a gang. But snooping in his porn collections gets her exactly what she looking for...cuffed to his bed. Now...read 80% smexy times...

I thought from the blurb that it would be more of a suspense book, but it really wasn't. Not much of a storyline in it, just sex throughout the book. I might have given it 3 stars if there were less sex and more story.

Must love BDSM!!
This is the first book I've read by Lola Rivera, though I have read some of her books written under Roxie Rivera (Her Russian Protector series) which are fantastic. She appears to love to write very erotic stories containing BDSM. So if you don't mind some sex scenes, but there is a limit before you blush, you might not want to read this book!! I'd say 75-80% of the book is explicit sex scenes. And just to let you know, there is a follow up book planned.
Meg is a junior in college in Dallas when she unexpectedly walks into a bad situation and ends up having to testify against a dangerous drug dealer, which made her prey to his people and forced her to leave town. Luckily her step-brother welcomed her into his home in Houston, though this could be more trouble than not in various ways...
Gage Cruz is an ex-military man/SWAT cop that has opened his home to Meg to protect her from harm, though he has a secret, a dirty little secret. How will Meg react when/if she finds out this dirty little secret?
It was an easy read, though I have to admit that I did skim through some of the explicit scenes, since they covered about 75-80% of the book I didn't feel I missed a lot. I am not a prude just wanted to move the story along a little. I do plan to read the next installment since I felt that there were some unresolved things at the end of the book.
It was well written and would recommend this book to anyone OVER 18y/o and who has a strong love of explicit BDSM sex!!!

This is not a complete novel! Clearly stated that this was complete novel. Yes there is no cliffhanger and doesn't end on a bad note but the story is not complete in any way or fashion, and we will find out more maybe the conclusion in book 2 of claimed by the bad boy cop. If there is anything I dislike it is misleading fans by saying this is complete novels when it clearly is not!!. I can not comprehend how such a good author can say this is complete ~> extremely disappointed of this and tactic. This can be read as a standalone if you do not want the conclusion of the whole reason why Meg went to live with Gage and events that followed in story. However if you don't want story completed and just want sex then u will like. :-(

April 7, 2016DNF at 50%- While I have no problem with a healthy dose of smut in my romances I do prefer to have some type of story, even if it's similar to an Alexa Riley wham bam type. If it's just sex... eventually that just gets old for me, no matter how raunchy or how much dirty talk there is. This was just sex, and more sex, and more sex. I skimmed heavily before just giving up.

I am really mad.....
I gave this story 4 stats because I really enjoyed of but with that being said I would have given it 5 even though there were a few editing errors, BUT the cliffhanger although she left us with a HFN ending made me so mad, I have never read this author but to end it like that with a note to watch out for the next story that is a big NONO for me. Just warn us a little, I mean I took a huge leap of faith on you, but I will say the story is good, H\h were wonderful together and the was no OW drama or cheating, which is a huge plus. All in all it is a great story, just would have like a little warning on the ending....

I only got about halfway through the book. There was no backstory or build up at all. They were sleeping together in the first chapter. There was also nothing to really get to know that main characters.

This is a different pen name but the same writer as Lolita Lopez who writes the sci-first erotica Grabbed series and Roxy Rivera who writes the Russian mafia series. This book had really hot, sexy scenes, but was very thin on the storyline. I think that is ok, though because the Gage and Meg's story isn't done there is a sequel called 'Claimed By The Bad Boy' though not sure when that is coming out.

Disappointed
I'm a big Roxie Rivera fan, so when I found out that she was releasing some of her more erotic stories under the name Lola Rivera, I was eager to try one. I was really disappointed in this one, it none of the character and story development that I was expecting. Lots of sex that honestly became repetitive and boring by the end of the book. Both hero and heroine seemed immature. Just not my cup of tea.

Holy. Freaking. Hell!! Love, love, love this burning hot story of Gage and his step-sister, Meg in the beginnings of their taboo BDSM love affair. So damn hot, like sweltering, burning sizzling Hot! I just loved the protective streak Gage has for Meg and I love that Meg is so sassy but also a good girl with Gage's instructions/orders. So, so good!

I love Roxie Rivera's writing, so I was curious about this book wondering if Lola Rivera wasn't in fact Roxie. I was happy to discover they are one in the same! I really liked this book. It was fast paced and enjoyable. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough, although apparently we will have more of Gage and Meghan in a subsequent book!

2.5 stars. Waaaaaaay too many sex scenes, not enough plot. I don't think I've ever complained about a book having too many sex scenes because I love my smut but this was way too much. I ended up skimming through the sex scenes when it just wouldn't stop ha O.o

Ok so I like a book with some dirty sexy scences, but wow this book seems to be just a whole lot of them. You can see the potential for a great storyline, but it gets overshadowed by all the sex scences.
