I wanted so much more from this story. What happened to the band? What happened to chase's career? I was kind of shocked and not in a good way with the ending. The way the book started for me I was looking for a way better ending then I was given. The ending of any story for me is like the blanket being tucked around you when you're a kid...a closure to your day. That's what I wanted that I didn't quite get.
All in all a pretty good read. I just had to take off 2 stars for the ending.
Ashlyn spent her whole young life preparing to be a teacher, when the time comes for her to live her dream, she realizes it isn't what she thought it would be. She lives quietly pining away for a guy who sings in a band and never notices her. When she receives some unsolicited help to get his attention, things change for her in a way she never saw coming.
I was frustrated with this book - Ashlyn just wasn't a sympathetic character to me - she seemed like a nebbish, not really knowing what it was she wanted, and so very naive that it hurt me to continue reading, knowing that somehow this wasn't going to end well for her. But it did, and I'm glad that, in the end, she and Everett actually managed to open up to each other.
I did get a thrill to see Lake St. Clair mentioned in the book (being from around there - although on the Canadian side), but all in all wasn't that thrilled with the story, therefore giving it only 2 stars.
I loved Ash and Everett's journey to finding true love. Ever is a rock star who meets Ash in Michigan while he is there to write more songs for his band.
First let me say the cover of this book is amazing. I adore rock star romance and this one definitely delivered. The two main characters were so real and believable. I fell in love with Ash and Ever. As their love story progressed, I found myself reading more slowly because I wanted to prolong my time with them. I wasn't ready to say goodbye when the end came. And though their ending was highly satisfying, I as a reader would not mind additional peeks into their happily ever after.
This was a great book. The complex characters and fast paced story makes for a fast read. Ashlyn was trying to get her life in order and be happy. Everett was a famous rock star trying to take a break to write new songs for the band's new album. What happens when a brief encounter between these two one night? Guess you need to read this book to find out
Ashlyn is someone all of us can relate to. She is just trying to find her way in life. She went to college but her job wasn't what she expected it to be so she quit. She has tried the dating scene but has been disappointed there as well, until one night she gets her dream guy. Or is he? Don't pass this book up!
Pretty good. I normal don't like split first person, but it worked well here. The characters were well drawn out and there was a bit of a plot twist - of course nothing that couldn't have been prevented by communicating. I would read the next in the series.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was well written and I loved the characters. The only thing that bugged me was the characters not communicating certain things. I know it was to make drama, but just didn't seem realistic to me.
