He won’t risk losing her. She’ll risk everything to have him.
Rain maintains the science projects that allow the Fae to walk on the iron-cored earth, but she can’t figure out what her Fae boss wants. She’s tried blonde, brunette, C-cup and D, slutty heels and flats. Nothing works. But with the Fae mating season coming up, she’s pulling out all the stops.
Titan has explored the galaxy—and found the one woman he can never have. Rain is perfection, but he won’t risk losing her in a mating ritual that could kill her. Except her stepped-up steaminess is making his palms sweat, and his grip on his control is slipping...

I originally rated this story at 3.5 stars, due to its short length and being in genre I’m not usually thrilled about. I decided to actually give it 4 stars because I honestly really enjoyed it. I probably couldn’t have handled it being a full length book only because I think I would’ve had a hard time buying into it with the Fae (just really not my thing). But, this story was so much fun! I don’t usually like fantasy/pnr type stories but this one was short enough that I could just enjoy the characters and not get too caught up in the implausibility of it all.
It was quite entertaining being in Rain’s head as she changes her look every single day in hopes of attracting her boss, Titan (who also happens to be the leader of said alien Fae) into picking her when their next mating season comes up. To her dismay he never seems to notice or care, but makes her every-day life a mixture of pleasure and pure torture by always walking around his room naked. Which also happens to be where Rain works; at a nice little desk in the corner of Titan’s bedroom.
You’re not really sure why he won’t have anything to do with her until finally we see in his head, and find out that he has pretty serious reasons for being reserved around Rain.
I’m not going to say anything else for fear of spoilers, but know that this is a HEA and it is quite entertaining and sexy for only being 80 pages long. Highly recommended.

My star ratings are a mixture of how the story made me feel & the quality of the story.
This story held my interest throughout, but I can't give it more than three stars since I strongly disliked one of the themes in the story. Heroine pursues hero themes/stories are just not my cuppa. However, since the story did hold my interest in spite of that theme AND it was well written, it would be both unfair & undeserving of me to give it less than 3 stars - imo.
This was a fun, quick read and I really enjoyed it.
I don't usually enjoy stories where the heroine pursues the hero, I prefer the hero to do the seducing. That being said, I did like rain, she was fun and feisty. I didn't particularly like how she kept constantly changing herself to try and attract Titan though. Either he likes you as you are or he isn't worth it.
Which brings me to Titan. I just loved him. He was everything I love in a hero; dominant, strong and protective. He also thought Rain was perfect the way she was and I loved that about him. The bedroom scenery was very lightly kinky and I enjoyed it, though more would of course have been welcome.
I really like the alien mate trope, it's one of my favourites. I wish this that been longer, I want of titan.
I have to say I love books about fae but making them also alien is a stroke of genius that had me guess who they were where we're they from and why the far we're all male Titan is the leader of the dark fae he and his people traveled the universe to find a home and hope for his people he meets rain who makes a skin graph that alia as the far to go on to earth rain has been in love with titan since she met him she is continuously changing her looks to get a reaction from titan will she get what she wishes for or will her dream man continue to ignore her I loved this book 5 gold stars

I'm trying to pick a genre for this book. It reads like chick lit -- you can see in the blurb she is hair and clothes obsessed -- with a thin veil of fantasy. I say that as someone into science fiction and fantasy far more than the romance crossover genres like paranormal romance or science fiction romance. On the flip side, that would make it very approachable for those wary of science fiction and/or fantasy. World building is light. The "aliens" are humanoid. No extra appendages or anything. ;)
On the erotica vs romance scale, it reads like what was once called romantica. (No idea if that term is still used widely.) The sex is explicit, but the kink factor is low. Some mild bondage, full consensual.
At its core, the story is basically about a girl trying to sexually (and romanticaly) tempt her boss. The fantasy veil is she's a scientist working on a space ship and he's the leader of the alien fae. Since the story is novella length, that is basically the extent of the plot. I'd call it more plot centric than character centric.
As you may be able to tell, I'm getting very technical with this review. I find it hard to review books when I didn't absolutely love them, hate them, or learn something new. For me, this was a diverting middle-of-the-road read finished during a night of insomnia.
My one blink-and-you-miss-it nitpick was wondering why an alien spoke of the concept of sin in the line: "You look at me like you’ve seen the sun, and all my sins leave me."

I love new to me authors, its like ooohh lets get in her head and see what she will give us. Misty Kayn and her Alien Fae Mate, was pretty awesome. I received the book as a gift from the author in exchange fore a honest review.
When you're lead the Dark Fae do you give up everything? To find out a males type you go above and beyond, from what you wear to changing wigs and color. Because all you do is think of this one gorgeous male. What do you do when you find a mate, but you cant mate her without risking her?
It was just fun, a mix of science fiction, fae and erotica it was a different take on Fae mating I found that I liked alot. Its a novella at about 80pages but I enjoyed from the beginning to the end.
Both lead characters were fun and loved their interaction. I'm almost sure there will be another book for the sister (smiles)
~with out Rain, nothing survives~ I recomend this book. Enjoy
My first Misty Kayn read was quite enticing; how can a girl turn away from a sign that says ‘Fae mating season coming up’. Well, I certainly didn’t have the will to.
This is your basic office romance in an erotic Sci-Fi setting and as far as shorts go, I think this made for a fun and quick read. Rain: Playful. Determined. Naïve. There was a vulnerability that made her endearing. Titan: Your typical alpha male. Drool worthy – but I’d say that’s more my imagination getting away from me than anything else.
While I found it fairly entertaining, I thought the world building was lacking. I love my Sci-Fi and PNR reads, and those tend to be rich in detail. In this case it was difficult to get a feel for what the world was like. I really wanted to know more about their power/‘magic’, which seemed to be an important motive behind Titan’s actions. So, definitely light on the Sci-Fi/PNR but perhaps that’s a plus for the peeps that aren’t so inclined.
If you're looking for something that is heavy on the kink or world building then this probably isn't for you. If you're looking for something easy and a little naughty to read during your lunch break, this is fair game.

What a weird story for a short novella! Rain thought Titan was rejecting her because of her "type" and kept putting on different wigs and silicone cups (and wouldn't shut up about it) while Titan was obsessed with the word "knickers" and kept explaining why he liked the word, etc. etc. In the middle of all this, there was a lot of mumbo jumbo about skin grafting and wraiths coming from the dead. And it wasn't even hot!! The sex scenes were all over the place.

Well, well, well Ms. Misty Kayn! :) Yesss indeedy! This was a perfect little pick me up! I really liked that the young woman in the book was SMART! She certainly held her own, even when her feelings were getting hurt. I loved the Fae/ futuristic element to the book also. The male well, Titan, came across as caring, thoughtful, smart and hot as hell in my mind lol :) Mmmmm Titan
I started the book at work and at first was sad that there wasn't 'hot and heavy' activity right away. As I read more, I was glad it was laid out just the way it was. It was steamy enough to make me think some naughty things, yet calm enough for me to read at work during breaks. Now to find my Titan! lol
I really enjoyed this book and grabbed 'Here for Shaye' once I finished.
Thank you Misty! I look forward to reading more from you!

So Rain, a human, is in love with her boss, the leader of the alien fae. She tries to get his attention for the mating season and he is determined to stay away from her because becoming his mate means she will have to die and become a fae.
I liked the beginning for the most part, a bit over the top but still enjoyable. One of my pet peeves in these alien books is when the alien male uses the term baby. They speak a very proper English and then start using "sexy" slang? It just doesn't jive with me. What killed this for me though was the ending, I could hardly read it.
Despite the ending making me laugh, I’m in two minds about this book. Unfortunately, I can’t put my finger on why I’m not enthralled with this story. It was reasonably well written and the characters didn’t piss me off. I’m sorry there’s not much else I can say. As a reader, find out for yourself. You just might like it.
Enjoyed, as I do all of Ms. Jacks books! Had to track this one down as I couldn’t find on Amazon. Last year actually. If your looking for a copy I found the B&N ebook on their site and you can read thru their App.
I really wanted to like this book, but the fact is that I was kind of bored. I love trashy books. I'm a fan of sci-fi and fantasy erotic novels where one partner isn't human. I enjoy things that could be considered in the realm of "awesomely bad"... as long as they are entertaining. I read for pure enjoyment, so being bored is not something I have time for. The only reason I finished this book was because it's short.
I'll start with the positives. I liked that the heroine pursued the hero. I didn't find Rain annoying (other than her complete willingness to change herself to catch a man's eye). I think the writing was solid. Titan was hot, if slightly angsty.
The negatives. I was BORED. The names are silly (Apple... really?). Titan is awfully wishy-washy for a dude who has apparently had amazing self control for 2.5 years. The ending.... Oh man, that ending. I can't even.
Overall, it's not a BAD book, just a boring one with a terribly ridiculous ending.
If you want a quick, hot and sex filled story, then this isn't a bad read. My advice, don't go into it with too much expectations. If so, it is actually an okay read and definitely sex filled. So, we have Titan (which isn't his name) who is the ruler of the dark fae and Rain who wants to sleep with him. The story started off with her on her third year of attempt only for Titan to let us know that contrary to Rain thinking he doesn't notice her, he is actually resisting her. But this time he is finally unable to. Titan doesn't want to sleep with her and thereby mate her because he doesn't want her heart to stop beating but Rain was ready to accept the consequences. Titan finally did too, and all ended up being well in paradise. Rain started off a bit boring seeing as she had one goal despite being brilliant but her resilience and later her spunk made her passable. Titan, well, there was too much focus on his sexuality for me to categorize him as a character but he seems like a good guy.
The story is short, a bit sweet and very sexy and slightly kinky. If you want to read something of the above description and with a bit of paranormal, then this is a good enough book to do so.
I got this book free from the author in exchange for a honest review.
I received a copy of this book for a fair review, and that's the only reason why I finished it, aside from it being short. The only plus I can think of it that there were no grammatical errors that I could see.
I really enjoyed this book in the beginning. I even overlooked the names. And then things quickly went downhill. I started to like the book less and less, and then the ending. Oh god, the ending. It was probably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read.
It's safe to say that I'm not going to read the sequel, though I wish the author luck and I hope her books get better the more she writes.
I liked this. There were some great scenes, and some hot ones, too. It was a pity it wasn't longer and a little more fleshed out, because this had the makings of a really good full length novel.
I thoroughly enjoy this author’s writing style. New to the Distopian genre, and happy that I found and author I like. This is a quick read, with a clearly defined storyline. I like the added drama of the sudo romance, and the misunderstandings between male and female. Doesn’t matter where they’re from, miscommunications rule... Looking forward to the next book!!
