Corey was a little annoying at first with pouting & his whiny thoughts about not fitting in with the Jade crew but once he got past it he got better.
Jenny was great. A bit shy & uncertain of herself but she didn't let that stop her. When ppl in her life disagreed with her choices she didn't back down and do what they wanted. She was smart & a fighter. Corey was more likable because he not only saw those qualities in her but he respected & appreciated them.

Corey was a bit whiny in the beginning.
Jenny was lovely but her mother was a shameful bigoted biarch. Blaming shifters due to one terrible accident. Would she be the same if the driver had been coloured, foreign, elderly. Idiot thinking and she brainwashed her own son too. We don’t get an answer to how she was after the fight.
Jenny thankfully had grit and thought for herself.
She made Corey see things without the blinkers of his past.
Just a bit about the ongoing back story.

I do like these books. Wha tI like about them, is you have a whole series on misfit bears and how they each find love and belonging. That happened here with Corey. Although, its not a have to, there are characters from her other series Stone Bears here. I haven't read that series but if I had I might have felt differently about this book. but all in all i did like it... and yes, I feel like something big is going to happen and soon.

Corey Beleski has never really fit in around his new crew. He misses his old friends and his life with them. When someone from his his past pays him a visit out of the blue seeking information that could be damaging to his new crew, his torn between having his old life back and going against his new life. Corey is a private person and has never shared his feelings with anyone, but that is about to change.
When Jenny Hardwick goes to a bar with friends, the last thing she expects is to meet a sexy shifter named Corey. Their first encounter is doesn't go well, but when he goes over to explain himself, she is glad that he does. Corey awakens something in her that she has never experienced with another man and she is ready to explore those feelings.
But first she has to face her families prejudices against shifters. She's caught between love and family and will have to make a decision soon. But that is not the only obstacle, they now have to go up against his old crew and hope that they all make it out alive.
This is book 5 in the series, Corey and Jenny's story. The storyline was very entertaining, it is filled with suspense, drama, and betrayal. I loved the characters, Corey and Jenny. They are well suited and have great chemistry. There are a few small discrepancies in the storyline but nothing that interferes with the story. This is the first book I've read in the Jade Crew series and it was pretty straight forward in explaining what was going on around them, but I have read other books from the various series that connect with this one which helps. My only dislike is the way Jenny always refers to the shifters as 'your kind', I realise it's not a major deal but I thought it could have been phrased better especially with everything going on between Corey, Jenny and her family. Otherwise, I loved this book, it was a very enjoyable story. Can't wait to read the next book and I hope to see the dragon shifter mated soon, that will make a very interesting read I think!

Corey and jenny
I received a ARC for an honest review.
Another great read! Amelia Jade is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
This story is about Corey and Jenny. In the beginning of the book Corey was a bit cold and I had no idea who he was, at the time I was frustrated thinking "what the heck is going on here?" However as the book progresses we finally see why Corey is the way he is.
He meets Jenny . she is sweet and brave and really not afraid to knock Corey upside the head. The chemistry between the two is great. We learn where Corey came from and why he left. He's never felt welcome in the Jade crew and that fact is making him question his place with them and could possibly lead him to betray those who are supposed to be his brothers.
Corey has to make some hard choices but will he choose the right path?
This book, just like the others in the jade and stone bear books, was amazing. I love the world Amelia Jade has created for us. I do wish it was longer and we were given a bit more info on what went on with Jenny's family after they met Corey. This book gives us more of the big story . the issues with the LMC and the dragon council still MIA. We do get some answers here, I have a feeling in the next book or two things are going to get crazy.. I cannot wait to see where this goes.

I received this for a honest review. Such an amazing series. I just love Amelia Jade’s books. Do not worry if you have not read any other book in this book for it is a standalone.
Corey Baleski is a bear shifter. He is one that feels like he is an outcast. He was one that came from the Diamond Crew and now is in the Jade Crew. It has been hard for him to fit in. He is one that does not talk about his past or how he got to where he is at today.
Jenny Hardwick was more of an innocent human woman. She had pretty much kept herself for the right man. Jenny has a few secrets that makes her the way she is. She is usually shy and was one that just did not have confidence.
I loved that we got to see a little more of Ferro in this book. Ferro is a dragon shifter who owns that Tongue and Flame. He is one that just does not get involved and has pretty much keeps to himself, but when he does decide to speak know that every work that comes out of his mouth is very important.
Things get hot and heavy between Corey and Jenny. They will have a few obstacles in their way. There is danger and head and they must prepare themselves for what is coming. Corey and Jenny will have some very important decisions to make. Will they make the right chose.

I love this whole series, and have been waiting impatiently for the next one. Then, somehow this one slipped past me, and I thought I had read it, when I hadn't. When I noticed it, I was so excited, but also bummed, because I could have already read it. This book, even went beyond my high expectations. There has been something bad going on in Genesis Valley through all of the books in this series, but it is still a mystery. In this book, we did get more information and clues, but we still do not know exactly what is going on. At the same time, we find out why Corey, one of the sexy bear shifters, has not felt like he has fit in with the Jade Crew, and there to help him is Jenny. This book is a well written story that has action, mystery, love, family, and steamy, hot sex. I highly recommend this book, but I recommend that you read all the books in the order that the author has recommended to understand everything that is going on. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review.

This was the story of Corey. He hasn't really felt he belonged with the Jade Crew. Of course has he given it a chance. He never told them where or why he came there. Now it's to a point where he has no choice.
He meets Jenny at the bar one night. She's out with the other couples. They hit it off. Jenny came to see if she can finally meet someone and apart of a couple. Corey catches her eye.
They really have a sweet thing going on until her family finds out. Jenny defies them for her love for Corey. But with all that is going on more things are coming into the open and people may not be who you think they are.
We are getting closer to learning what and who is controlling the valley.
I love this series! You have the love story but also the suspense of what's going down in Genesis Valley.

Fantastic story great reading material for a comfortable day by the fire. I love this series, all of the books are fantastic . plenty of graphic loving, action,drama and fun. I can hardly wait for the next book to see what will happen.

Feeling like he never fit in with the Jade Crew, Corey Baleski, is torn between the chance to get his old life back and the reason he was forced to leave. Jenny Hardwick's family despises shifters, but her inexperience with men is not match for her attraction for Corey. Will Jenny be able to help Corey see that it's not always greener on the other side? Will Corey be able to prove that shifters aren't all brutes?
I was proud of Jenny for realizing that what happened in the past was an accident and not an intentional thing by a shifter and how she rose above it. I understood Corey's POV in that he was at the top and then kicked to the bottom, but I was really happy that when it came down to it he acknowledged that the others weren't the problem. Both were able to let go of the past and create something great. Great book!
