Jump into a sexy and funny, billionaire romance from USA TODAY bestselling author Sierra Rose. Rose is a veterinarian in Wessler, a small town she calls home. Her father has just passed away. In order to secure her inheritance, she must be married by age twenty-six. And that's when she calls in her crazy, unemployed, and carefree best friend named Tommy. When Tommy's responsible brother comes into town from New York City to attend the wedding, he learns they're all taking a road trip to Vegas. The clock is ticking… Old friends reunite to get Tommy and Rose to the altar as fast as possible. But sometimes…things don’t go exactly according to plan.
Sierra Rose is a stay at home mom and writer. With the support from her husband, friends, and family, she finally decided to write her first romance novel, My Despicable Ex, followed by the second book in the series. She hopes to write more romance books in the future.
Sierra is a dreamer, a hopeless romantic, and believes fairy tales can come true. She enjoys spending time with her husband of ten years and her wonderful children, ages 9 - 12. She has two cats and one dog. Sierra enjoys going to book clubs, camping, hiking, reading, jogging, and swimming.
Rose has always fought her father's ideas of who she should become. Rather than following in his footsteps and becoming a lawyer she has became a beloved small-town veterinarian. Her father hated it so much that he had stopped helping her with her tuition costs and had glared at her from across the road silently judging her. He had never stopping imposing his will upon her, even from the grave. Yes, Rose's father was now dead. But, the old man had left something to her in his will. Maybe, just a little more than something. He left her everything. Under the circumstance that she gets married by her 27th birthday. Which is in a week.
Once the initial shock wore off she and her best friend concocted a grand scheme. They would get married to each other. Rose loved Tommy and Tommy loved Rose. It would never be in the forever and always kind of way, but they were best friends. Being married for one year would be nothing! Except now Tommy's long lost brother, Dylan is joining them on this road trip to Vegas in order to be their best man. And too bad Dylan can't keep his eyes off Rose, whose childhood crush on the man doesn't seem to have faded with time.
Rose is sassy and vibrant. She has a mane of curls and is breath-takingly gorgeous. Not that she really sees that. She judges herself based on the ease with which she can get in bed with a guy. Her words, not mine. That being said, she has left a string of broken hearts behind her. I love that she is getting back at her dad, and that her lawyer is even going to play along.
Tommy is a true good-ole boy. He was raised by his Southern Comfort Momma in the little Tennessee town where he and his brother used to wreck havoc with his two best girls. The group, sans Dylan, still ran the town. Tommy was a genius and looked like a model, but he had a care-free spirit. Currently, he was actually trying to train a goat to open the door and be a butler. Good thing his best friend is a vet...
Dylan left town shortly after graduating high school, attended business school, and is now a hot shot in New York. I know they told us what he did, but I am a little fuzzy on the details. I think our friend's spiked lemonade may have gotten to me, as the reader. He hasn't been home in 7 years, but now his brother has called him out of the blue, leaving a message saying he is getting married. The next morning he arrives to find his Rosie at he and his brother's house. And she is marrying his brother. Well, at least he can be the best man and witness to the pair's newest hair-brained scheme...
This is a fun, light-hearted story that leaves you wanting part 2! Currently, I have not read part two, but as always I will find time eventually. Hopefully. From the beginning I secretly hoped that it would be one of those stories where it turns out that the best friends fall in love with each other eventually, and that still could happen. But, I don't want to give anything away for our feisty little group.

I have read a string of Sierra Rose books now and the majority of them have been, well letdowns. I had therefore very little hope when it came to the Pretend Billionaire Groom. Color me pleased though, because this book had everything the previous books did not; Passion behind the pages.
What previous books lacked in passion and characterization this book made up tenfold. I loved Tommy’s character and the spontaneity together with Rose. It made the whole reading experience charming to say the least. What could have become a quite dull and overused plot, speaking from experience with typical the whole fake wedding and billionaire books out there, the characters made it into a very exciting and new adventure. The story was well thought out and you could tell the author actually enjoyed writing it, compared to some of her other stories where it just seemed that she wanted it done and over with.
One thing though that I had a bit difficulty getting behind was the romance. Sure, there were some chemistry between Rose and Dylan, but the fact that the friendship between her and Tommy gave me much more says a lot about the romance and that it didn’t quite measure up between the two different bonds she had with the brothers. Hopefully this will be worked a bit more on in the next two books.
Though it may have been a short book it was the perfect length for this type of genre and subject matter. It might otherwise have been dragged out and become dull between the twists and turns in the story if it was a full length book, so it just comes to show that Sierra Rose knew what she was doing writing it.
The beginning of this book was actually very funny. But from 50% it went downhill. I liked Rose and Dylan but came to despise Tommy. He was so immature and childish. Where it was funny in the beginning it went to annoying in the end. The book just went from good to OTT bad. It was clear from the start that Rose would end up with Dylan and not with Tommy. She had a crush on Dylan since she was five and he felt the same way, but they never acted on it. So of course I was rooting for them. Spoiler ahead, but I think Rose’s and Tommy’s history should be mentioned in the recap! They weren’t just best friends all those years. Why on earth would this author choose Tommy be her first kiss in high school and why make him the one who took her virginity on their prom night? Why do that if you want her ending up with his brother? I don’t like the trope where the hero or heroine had sex with a sibling. And a lot of readers with me! It came on as all so casual and nobody seemed to care in this book. Well I did! I would’ve liked to know this because I wouldn’t have picked up this book. And then that stupid ending with Tommy’s psycho ex who gave birth to his baby, which made him switch a 180. It went OTT crazy with this book. I’m so disappointed, why oh why did this author turn this pretty good book into such a nuthouse?

Liked: Intertwining of friendships and small town charm that sticks like meat to a bone. Also appreciate how everything about the family complication wasn't given away making for a real surprise ending. Disliked: Why do author's today have to muddy up literature with foul language? Sometimes a Reader just want s to curl up to a good book to get away from reality. We hear it all day long, must we ensure it on the written page to?
The charectors & plot created by Sierra Rose in this book are wonderful, and so very relatable! We all know that one person who was literally too smmart for thier own good! That person is personified in this book! My only complaint? TOO SHORT!!!
This was such a cute little series. Rose, Tommy, Dylan, and Lily were hilarious and endearing! I found myself laughing a lot at their drunken shenanigans and Rose's accidental attacks on her best friend.
The Good: I LOVED the scenes in Vegas! So stinkin funny!
The Not So Good: The sex scenes could easily have been left out. The writer is so good that they weren't needed.
Childhood pals. He hardly ever works and parties all the time with billionaire brother. She's a veterinarian who grew up on the right side of the tracks and never grew up after she finished school. DAddy dies and only way she inherits is to get married. Guess what happens in this overly predicable snorer.
This book is funny, sad, thrilling, and edge of your seat engaging (not in a suspenseful way but in an I can't put this book down kind of way). The characters are so relatable. The storyline is very much possible. A truly entertaining novel. I can't wait for the rest of the series.
Fun book! Rose, Tommy and Dylan make for a great story. This is a nice, easy, relaxing read. Sit down, put your feet up, and give it a try. Looking forward to part 2!
Good beginning to this story. Good writing and story line except for the vet part. Being a vet myself, there's some major flaws. 1. You wouldn't go on a bender and leave your dogs alone in your house for 2 days. Who's taking care of them? 2. A 25 year old just graduated from vet school wouldn't have owned a practice for what seems like years 3. Does she ever work? Is she on call? Does she have an associate? How can she just take off for like a week? I think the author should've researched this occupation more, or chosen a different one for Rose. It's very unbelievable in the way it was written.
Love this series! Sierra Rose is fantastic! Rose, Tommy, Lily and Dylan. Best friends since childhood have an awesome relationship. Their dialogue is awesome! I love the chemistry. I found myself chuckling, ouright laughing, getting angry and even had some awww moments. This series has it all.
