Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever was a seminal figure in one of the greatest debates and issues facing our country - illegal immigration and border security. After decades of enforcing the law on the border he rose to national prominence by bringing truth to power - he would not bend. The southern border of the United States was wide open - and it was not by accident. His uncompromising stance brought him into conflict with some of the most powerful persons in the country. DEVER describes how a small town boy became a national figure and America's Sheriff. Yet, in a matter of twenty days his life and reputation were extinguished. His chilling death involves a question no one dares to ask. Was his death an accident or murder?
I found this book extremely informative and having met Sheriff Dever once I naturally took an interest in this book. It opened up my eyes into many things that I was not aware of and is certainly something to be concerned about, especially in today's world.
