One witch. One shifter. One angry god hell-bent on the destruction of the world.
Witch Caleigh hunts for the Shadow Codex. She has seven days to unearth it and learn the spell to banish a god before he can do the whole "wipe out the world" thing. She doesn’t anticipate being joined by sexy Sawyer, the man she’s had a crush on for months. After having suffered devastating loss she’s no longer willing to risk her heart, so a crush is all it can be.
Sawyer has one goal: fulfill his duty as alpha and protect his pack at all cost. Being sidetracked by luscious Caleigh isn’t part of the plan. When he discovers they are after the same book he’s happy to savor every moment with her. That's all he can do. Because bringing a human into a world where physical prowess is everything would kill her.
The chemistry between them grows explosive until danger catapults them over the edge. Caleigh has to decide how much she’s willing to risk. Sawyer needs to determine if his pack is really all that matters. And they both have to reevaluate the secrets they're keeping.
It may be easier to banish a god than to face their inner demons.
Tina Christopher spent her early years flitting across the Channel between Germany and England. After touring the world extensively—from hanging out with elephants in South Africa to hiking through the wilderness in Alaska—she finally laid down roots in Toronto. Although Canada’s winters may be frigid, Tina’s characters are anything but!
Like most writers, Tina often hears voices in her head, but it took the encouragement of an editor friend to have her actually put fingers to keyboard. While those first stories will never see the light of day, she’s subsequently honed her craft and learned to build not just worlds, but entire galaxies. History has always been an area of interest for her, and she’s enjoys few things more than imagining what could happen when history and future meet.
When not imagining far-away worlds and scorching-hot encounters, Tina can be found on her sofa working through her never-ending TBR pile or venturing into the real world—whether to a nearby café or a passport-required destination. She’s a member of the Romance Writers of America and looks forward to where her characters take her next!
I was lucky enough to read this early! Great start to a romance trilogy with a fun, flirty adventure complete with cool powers and sexy soulmate romance! But it's the characters that make it, quirky, lovable Caleigh is a heroine to rally behind and broad, brash Sawyer leaps off the page with hilarious inner turmoil about his irresistible feelings for Caleigh. OTP alert, I love them.
I am struggling to figure out where to begin so I will start with the end. The ending of Shadow Codex is the result of sheer genius. I have read many books where the ending is intended to hint at the beginning of the next, but Ms. Christopher transitions the readers mind to the next book by superbly closing out the story of Sawyer and Caleigh while offering the reader insight into the next. There are four days left to save the world and I can guarantee I will be reading every one of those four days just to see what happens in the end. I highly recommend Shadow Codex and the writing of Ms. Christopher. Delane Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More Official Review @ Coffee Time Romance & More
