The Origin Series is empire building at its finest, with 100 episodes and over 2.5 million words in the military science fiction serial detailing the rise of Star Force from corporate entity into an interstellar empire over the course of more than a millennium.
Follow a core group of characters known as the Trailblazers as they use alien technology and knowledge discovered in Antarctic ruins to obtain limited immortality and lead Humanity out into the galaxy, encountering, befriending, and fighting hundreds of alien races all the while desperately trying to prepare Earth for the unbeatable threat at the core of the Milky Way that is destined to return and reclaim their lost colony…and their former Human slaves.
Aer-ki Jyr is one of the top 20 science fiction authors on Amazon due to his extremely long and ongoing space opera epic STAR FORCE, one of the longest military science fiction series ever written.
As much as I'm digging the whole series, this set was a tad slow to me. While we did get to hear the standard fare of advancement and archons being badass, I felt the majority of the focus was on non-archons. While there's nothing wrong with that, and while hearing about the standard humans brings more depth to the universe, I was kinda bored with them. I ended up putting the book down for a good month and read other things.
Aside from being mildly bored with the subject of these books, I found the standard and expected amount of grammatical and spelling errors. I've gotten mostly used to it, but I still have to ding a star.
The way we're seeing the battle meld pan out is interesting. I'd be interested to see how the trail blazers stack up against modern human equivalents in the dino empire.
Also, surprised no one has questioned the original planet their species came from yet.
Also, waiting for some interesting developments from the preservations for species that are no longer being used for meat.
Boring battle sequences except for the fact that we see more Star Force losses than we have before. Guess that author is trying to dig us in deep emotionally for a hammer blow of some saving tech in the next installment.
I love the stories. Each situation is unique and yet familiar. I like the additional characters that are being introduced on a continuing basis. It adds depth and a fresh dimension to the ongoing storyline.
HOWEVER! The editing has to be done better! At present it is the pits! With the atrocious grammar and pathetic editing, at times it is almost impossible to read and understand what is happening. Use Grammerly if you have to. Anything to bring the editing up to scratch, please!
I love how Jyr mixes the stories around. If you are getting a little bored with a story line, just wait until the next chapter. I also love how a character will just reappear after 2 or 3 books. How he keeps the story lines straight is amazing.
Great space opera simply gets better with each book. Space Force battle fronts continue to escalate with Space Force growing more powerful. Definitely worth continuing to read the series.
Apparently they don't have a grammar checker there are a number of instances where antonyms are used or the words are just wrong. From instead of for.... Frustrating
I continua la gran crònica d’Star Force. Una sèrie fàcil però totalment addictiva pels amants de l’Space Opera! Després de 13 llibres encara tinc set de més!
