Being considered as the not too bright nephew of the village tavern owner isn't a crime. But running away to a remote mountain top cave after being told you had gotten a girl pregnant might be. But stealing a mule to make the trek and losing it along the way definitely was a crime. All of which Zackary Morgan had done in the last few days. He was just beginning to think he might have to go back and face a trial when a wolf came in the cave and spoke to him. It offered him a new and warm cave to hide in while he figured out what to next. Figuring it was better than starving or freezing to death he took the wolf up on his offer, never suspecting he was the bait in a trap to catch the most infamous of dark witches.
