For the first time, the COMPLETE story of Atlas and Piper...
Atlas Titan isn't your typical billionaire heir.
He defied the expectations of his tycoon father and well-heeled, affluent family by becoming a Navy SEAL and later a clandestine operative for the darkest government agencies.
He thought he'd left that world behind for a Bay Area start-up with his brothers, but a man's past has a way of catching up with him.
I'm Piper Kipton. I'm on the run from my own mistakes, and there's only one man who can protect me from them- and he just so happens to be 6'5 with rugged good looks and a penchant for making me weak at his touch.
Brought together by unfortunate circumstances, Atlas will do everything in his power to protect me from the dangers that lurk beyond the guarded walls of our luxury digs. But who will protect us from our forbidden desire for one another?
Atlas says it's a waste of time to wish for a better past. Little do we both know- the secrets of our pasts might be the only way we can possibly have a future.

I. Give. Up. I rarely DNF a book (no matter how bad it gets) but I’m officially throwing in the towel on this one because I just can’t do it anymore! There are so many more books waiting to be read and it’s the end of the day and I can’t find an ounce of strength to push through this anymore.
All I can say is the h was painful to read. Her character did not make any sense. With that kind of background, her thoughts and actions didn’t jive. In a way, it belittled the real struggles of others who suffer PTSD. Aside from that Piper was too annoying of an h for me to like. She was needy, spineless and her cowering/crying and the straight up crazy talk she spewed drove me up the flippin wall!
As for the “H” *eye roll* I knew things were going downhill with this single line:
I had to hurt her to help her.
His attitude towards Piper, especially knowing of her traumatic past, called for some understanding, some extra care of her, but no, he sticks to his guns and treats her like and easy lay and that is a definite mood killer. Hs that profess to care for their h’s and then do everything in their power to belittle, humiliate, hurt or demean their supposed one and only, are my huge pet peeve. Don’t try and sell me on his softer side when he constantly shoves it in my face that he can so easily crush his h. Save your breath, it’s not gonna happen.
This is my 2nd DNF (of 2017) at 30%. With all the eye rolling, smh/wft moments, and endlessssss sex scenes, I think holding out to 30% wasn’t too shabby.
Updated: read again 1/19/23 and the review pretty much stays the same. The suspenseful plot was the most enjoyable aspect. I would have liked a little more detail in the final scene with two of the antagonists - no spoilers so no details, but it ended up being more of a fade to black and I wanted more. Otherwise, it had been several years so I didn’t remember the story until I reread it fully and the original review was fairly accurate.
Atlas by Allison Ryan was the first book in the Sons of the Billionaire Titan series. It was my first book by the author.
Atlas Titan was the son of one of the richest men in the world. In turn, it made him one of the richest men as well. He was a retired seal, former clandestine operative and current entrepreneur with his brothers.
Piper Kipton was the former step daughter to Atlas Titan’s father, Emerson Titan. They still kept in touch long after the short marriage had ended. Currently Piper was on the run from an abusive, psychotic US Congressman and Piper turned to Emerson for help. Atlas agreed to help his father by protecting Piper.
It was told from a dual POV. Ryan set the stage in the first chapter well so we would know the players and the premise of the story. It implied an action packed and suspenseful plot with sexual tension. It was also a trigger for some since Piper was running from an abusive relationship; however, thankfully there were no scenes depicting that abuse. Additionally, I had not previously connected PTSD to domestic violence but Ryan brought the affects to light.
I was drawn into the story immediately and enjoyed the suspenseful vibe. I normally enjoy the detailed sex scenes and don’t mind the rabbit frequency but this time it felt forced and disjointed, detracting from the overall plot. Additionally there were several editing errors that were also distracting.
At 60%, the format took a turn that was odd and confusing. No spoilers so no elaboration, but it was disjointed and didn’t make sense. I literally had to stop and re-read several sections to try and understand the shift. With that said, the more I read, the more it grew on me and ultimately made sense. My key point, don’t throw in the towel.
Ultimately I loved the suspense and mystery behind the plot. Atlas was a romance but this time the secondary plot was what kept me going versus the romance. As a result, my final rating was a 3.5, which rounded up to a 4 on this review site. In the end, it was enjoyable and entertaining and I plan on reading Oden, the next book of the series, as soon as I can.
3.5 stars Man o man, these two were like rabbits throughout the whole story! Couldn't keep theirs hands off each other. He story was ok, dunno, there's something missing, can't really put my finger on it .
I normally never give reviews but for the life of me I cannot see where all the 5 stars are coming from. It was like this was written be a 15 year old after watching bad pornography.
DNF - I just couldn't finish this one. The characters weren't developed and their relationship was completely unbelievable. And why would a woman who had just gotten out of an abusive relationship want to give herself to someone she barely knows and offer to do anything to please him? My first and last book to pick up by this author.
So much was wrong about this book for me. I don't mind intsta-love stories but this was just wrong. I cannot imagine a young women behaving as Piper does after what happened to her. PTSD doesn't just mysteriously vanish. And I also expect Seals to behave with much more integrity.
Another miss for me by this author. Atlas started out good with the whole and the drama of an evil ex. Don't get me wrong I love an insta-love/lust story but this was just insane! Wasn't much character development just endless sex-capades which I found really odd for Piper because of her . I don't know maybe it was just me. I feel like I might give Odin a shot just to see what his deal is....We shall see.
DNF! In what world a girl how abused by her boyfriend will tell a gay she don't really know "my body is yours do whatever you want whit it"???? this book is 100% unrealistic and doesn't written well :/
This book was alright. Mostly it is about them "going at it" at all times.. I mean seriously at all times. Towards the end of the book is where it really picked up with the action involving the "bad" guys. I would like to read the next book to see if they take care of threat that was in this book.
I didn't even bother to finish reading this book after suffering through a third of it. The character Atlas seemed to have a split personality. A supposedly hardened SEAL with no control? The author, while having some skill, felt the need to hide it behind dropping an f-bomb with the zeal of an adolescent boy. Very disappointing.
Can a book be good and awful at the same time? Well this one was. I was a good mystery but all the explicit sex was unnecessary. I skipped over a lot of it. Don't get me wrong I like reading the sexual part but this was just over the top. I felt it took away from a good story. I find it hard to believe people who have been shot or beaten would be thinking of having sex and jump at it. Also this is a cliffhanger but I don't know if I will purchase the next book (got this one for free) just to scan over half of it to get to the plot.
Why do authors fill pages & pages with sex scenes & call it part of a plot? (Spoilers) & why have someone who has been so abused, is still bruised from the abuse & is so afraid that she gets protection only to fall immediately into pages of domineering sex scenes? The plot was so silly that I couldn't finish this book. When I read, I don't want unbelievable, I want a really good story.
This is my first Alison Ryan book (I decided to read it because I saw a blurb on Odin - I can't read a 2nd book without reading the 1st.. my OCD won't let me). I am glad I read this first since there is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end. Atlas and Piper have so much chemistry that it seems they literally cannot keep their hands - and other body parts - to themselves. At times I wondered how they got anything done. I love a good alpha male and Atlas ABSOLUTELY qualifies as one of those. The crazy action that they have to go through in this story was pretty intense. It kept me on the edge of my seat because the characters didn't know who to trust. The author wrote this so well that every time I thought I knew what was going to happen I was thrown for a loop. I do like how the story switched POVs so that we could see things from both perspectives. I'm a fan of books that do that because it makes me feel more involved in the story.
I have never read a book with such an intense emotion and filled with suspense like Alison Ryan’s “Atlas”. The story is mainly focused on Atlas, an ex seal coming from a very rich family who gets a delicate assignment from his father. He must protect his ex step-sister from an abusive man who also happens to be a famous congressman. After their acquaintance, Atlas and Piper will madly fall in love and from there on, the story will have a series of twists leaving the reader breathless and overwhelmed. I actually devoured every word wonderfully written by Alison. Now I definitely need to grab the second release of this fantastic book.
I did not find this book as interesting as I expected it was a bit slow with more about the sex than any interest in the actual story. I found it somewhat boring when it could have been an interesting and vibrant story with a hot alpha male alas it was not.
Ugh! So many things were wrong with this book. One, the heroine just got out of an abusive relationship and is just willing to throw herself into another relationship with a guy she hardly knows? This one line in particular, which went something like this: "Use my body the way you want", really killed me. No woman (or man) who has ever been in a relationship that was either mentally, physically, or verbally abusive would ever say that. PTSD does NOT just magically vanish because a guy with washboard abs walks into the room. It takes time, trust, and true caring from someone else to get past that. Strike one for the author.
Strike two was Atlas. I found myself wondering if he was bipolar or something because he seemed to be two different people from one part of the story to the next. I found it completely unbelievable that he was supposed to be a former SEAL.
Strike three was the two main characters going at it like jackrabbits. I'm no prude, and like explicit sex scenes, but the scenes did not need to be in this story. It wasn't necessary. There wasn't enough character development or chemistry between the two people to make me believe anything was real about their relationship.
Could this book been any more of a cliche? He's a former Navy SEAL, who also happens to be a multi-millionaire, and has to protect his former step-sister, whom he had the hots for when they were kids and their parents were still married. The antagonist just happened to go through BUDs with the hero (aptly named Titan- add the cheese), is now a US Senator, a sadist, rapist and raging lunatic. Our hero Titan works for a super secret squirrel, so ultra black you have never heard of it government assassination company. Our poor hero tried to leave the company, but no ones leaves, so he escapes with his step-sister. Some shenanigans ensue, there is some very romantic and very vanilla sex, crap goes sideways, etc. I do like the fact that the woman is not portrayed as some helpless damsel and even saves our unlucky hero despite being hugely pregnant and told to stay in the safe room. I know that I am not the target audience for these books, but god could this one be any more corny?
I think the main reason I did not like this book was 1) because of how fast it moved and 2) because the time kept switching WAYYYY to much for my liking. The story behind it was a little too complicated for me, but the way the author was switching times, I couldn't handle it. I love Atlas and his family but I just wish it was written a lot better. I find is very upsetting when there is such a good story, but I feel like the author made it way to confusing. I did find how Atlas used to be in the military and his background in that interesting. But I really wanted more of Atlas and Piper's story. Sorry for the bad review, but its most how I prefer to read and it was too uncomfortable for me.

Atlas (Billionaire Titans Book 1) my new favorite Alpha
This story is chalked full of heart-pounding action, violence, sex, & romance. It never stops moving forward, which makes it very difficult to put down, each chapter leaving you ready for the next. Amazing chemistry between the main characters Atlas & Piper. Warning! book ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, claiming HEA ending for Atlas is in book 2. Personally I'm going to look for book 2 because I loved this book 1 in the series.
Yikes, this was almost a DNF for me. I struggled to finish it. It had a plot that held some weight, but the uncontrollable rabbit sex on every other page just didn't work for me. I don't mind sex in books, but that's ALL THEY DID. LIKE, all the time. Sex scenes as fillers maybe? It was like a cheesy porno on steroids. The instant love wasn't bad, but the characters weren't developed enough for me. Plus, it ended on a cliffhanger..I can not bare to read the next one, so ehh, I'm good not knowing what else happens.
I don't even know where to start. This could have been so much better than that. But it was buried under instant love and multiple unrealistic orgasms. Now I know these books aren't real. But there has to be some form of life you can relate to. Or at least try. This was all over the place. Completely random. Not even for a second was I impressed. I was exhausted just reading about all the sex. Overshadowed the story line. Ruined it. Too much of a good thing is just too much.
Story kept me intrigued, sex a little over the top
I found the premise of the story interesting and the plot, while far fetched was still entertaining. Not a lot of character development but enough to really like Atlas and find Piper ok. The part of the book after the precipitating event is deftly written and really had me glued to my screen throughout. Nicely done climatic event but was unhappy about the cliffhanger. Will probably read book 2.
I just didn't enjoy this one at all. It was so over the top in terms of throwing in the different elements of these "alpha erotic" tales that I couldn't do anything more than shake my head. AND it felt really gross to have Piper so recently traumatized at the beginning of the book and then engaging in some power-dynamic-heavy sex, especially without any conversations around consent and safety.
It was better that some others I've tried to read the past few days. But I didn't really feel the emotion between Piper and Atlas. There were some minor errors like different spellings of Ronnie's name and at one point VZ is referred to as a girl. I'm not sure if I will read the next one.
Way too much sex. A little is enjoyable, this was just boring. I like books with some reality, this did not. Atlas was overpowering, just the type the girl was running from. Could have been a good book, but seemed the author was more intent on seeing how many different ways she could have the main characters have sex. Boring.
Atlas is a billionaire retired Navy seal. And his father need him to help him take care of his stepsister who he has not seen since she was 12 .. but when he say either wow was he impressed beautiful and he wants her in his bed for one night he thinks. The book with so- so I like books that has their ending right then and there this one didn't I had to read another book just to get the ending.
Atlas is a billionaire and ex-special ops. His father calls on him to protect Piper, his sister by marriage. They meet and he is taken in by her looks and the fear in her eyes. Their cover is blown and he takes her out of the country. After a great deal of angst, action and lots and lots of sex, they get their ending for now.
Man oh man what a man! Wish I could find a man like Atlas! Good read. Plan to read all in the series. Women will not agree but too much sex even when they were in dangerous situations. Still a good book.
Deciding if the players are good or bad is part of the story--do you start on one side and change, or what? Lots of sex, all over the place, money and wondering who do you trust! Do not think I will finish the series.
