This is the second book I’ve read by Kendall Ryan and I enjoyed it! The title for this story is perfect, I couldn't imagine anything else!!The plot is good and I loved the development between the characters, it was a slow build! What I love in her stories is that they are fast paced and hot!
Greyson’s character is what made me fall in love with the story, he is amazing and had me constantly swooning! But apart from being sexy he was also so kind and protective. He was trying to be the man that both Finley & Maple needed!

Thank god, Finley changed through the book because there where parts that she annoyed me. The sexual tension is obvious when Finley and Greyson are together and this made the story interesting!
Overall it was a great and quick read. Can't wait to see what else Kendall Ryan has for us!

From the moment I read the blurb I wanted to read this book. We met Greyson, Nolan’s friend, and I immediately wanted his story. He is a broken man, living with the guilt of a failed mission that killed his best friend. Finley is his friend's widow and now a single mother. They are brought back into each other’s lives when Greyson runs into Finley in a strip club, where she works.

I love books with single parents. I also love the men in this series, they are upfront, honest and a little demanding. I also really loved Finley and could easily empathize with her guilt and struggles. Finley is stripping, something she never thought she would be doing, but it seems like the only way for her to provide for her and her child.

Once Greyson decides to not let his guilt get in the way and makes a move on Finley the story really took off. There are also twists that add some suspense to the story, but I really just loved how quickly they were resolved so we could get back to Finley and Greyson. I loved how Greyson could provide Finley with security and stability, she desperately needed that for her and her daughter.

I feel like I can always rely on Kendall Ryan to deliver a quick, sexy, addictive read and she never lets me down. My only compliant is I wanted more, but that’s just me. I wanted to see more of them and their connection together. Regardless, like all of Ryan's books I definitely enjoyed it and recommend!

Slow & Steady is a standalone and is part of the Alphas Undone series. So, there’s a single mama and she’s strips to support herself and baby. You know I am ALL over that.

I love Kendall Ryan books, I find them with just enough steam to make me happy, with plenty of romance to make me swoon and the length is perfect that hits the right spot. It’s like receiving a little treat every time I read her novels. Plus her covers are gorgeous.

This is Finley and Greyson’s story.

Finley is a widow and a single mother. She strips to make money. With hospital bills and being the only caretaker with limited family to help and she lives pay check to pay check, but she does what she needs to survive. I love Finley. I found her strong, resilient and a little sassy. I love a strong mother and I love that she puts her daughter first and even though her situation isn’t the best, she’s continues to work.

Greyson has major guilt. He’s the reason why Finley’s husband died. It took him two years to recover from that and now he is making amends. I adore Greyson. I found him loyal, dominate and completely lickable. Who doesn’t like a man stepping in to save the day? You know I love my damsel in distress storyline.

Of course Greyson wants to help Finley and of course Finley says no. I love the playful banter between the two. I love it when the Hero chases after the Heroine and I also like how Finley continues to think about her daughter even though Finley wants Greyson.

I really like how the author incorporates the daughter into the storyline, sometimes the baby is just an afterthought or is background noise, but I really like the interaction between the three characters. It will make you smile.

This was a nonstop read for me. I didn’t put it down until I finished. I loved it from the first page and I wouldn’t change anything about it. BUT it’s no surprise to me, like I said, Kendall Ryan is ALWAYS a hit in my opinion.

When Finley lost her husband she never thought she would get over it. Then her daughter was born and gave her a whole new reason for living, and she'll do anything for Maple. Including become a stripper to support her and make sure she always has a roof over her head.

The last person Finley ever thought she would see again is Greyson, so when he shows up at the club she strips at, she's completely caught of guard. And so is Greyson. He never thought he would see that much of his late friends wife, and it pisses him off. After learning her situation he makes it his mission to help her and give her whatever she needs. But when the one thing she says she needs is for him to leave her alone - he doesn't think that is possible.

The reason I had such a hard time rating this book is because I didn't hate it, but also I didn't love it. Honestly the book left me feeling a whole bunch of blah and I just couldn't get into it. I liked the premise and the overall storyline had me intrigued, but by the end I realized that I was barely paying attention to what was actually happening in the story and I was just bored.

I was also a little confused at how the time progressed within the story. Some chapters were only over the course of a day or two, while other chapters skipped ahead weeks at a time. I was getting confused at how the story kept going from slow building, to fast paced and I didn't understand what was going on. Especially with one situation that started slow at the beginning and I was wondering what was going to happen with it, but then all of the sudden in the middle of the book that situation hit it's climax and was over super fast.

Overall, while I liked the story, I was left disappointed at how it was written and it didn't wow me at all. I wish I could have connected to the characters more and maybe that would have helped, but I just never felt anything for them.

She wasn't meant to be mine. They weren't meant to be mine.

Now it's been a hot minute since I last read a book by Kendall Ryan that I forgot just how well they can hit the spot.

Greyson Archer is a former Navy SEAL that still harbors unimaginable guilt over the death of his friend and teammate. When drinking his sorrows away at a run down strip joint, the last thing he expects is to recognize the face of the striking stripper that caught his attention the mere second she went on the stage. The fact that the woman that seems to make his blood heat is also the widow of his fallen brother in arms doesn't do much for his guilt.

Seeing how low she's come to support herself and her baby daughter, Greyson is determined to make things right. He wants to give them what he should have given them when her husband died; his support. He'll just have to put his libido on hold...if only Finley will allow him to get close enough to help.

Finley is just fine on her own. She may be barely making ends meet, making her rent, and working as a stripper to support herself and her daughter, but she doesn't need Greyson to come in with his bad boy vibes and oozing sexuality to tempt her self control. She still harbors plenty of rage his way, but the lust is certainly a heavy undercurrent in their relationship. Greyson is determined to help and when Finley's life is in danger, he knows that he won't take no for an answer.

Slow & Steady is exactly what the title implies; it's a slow and steady build. However, with the length of the story, it didn't allow a lot of things to be fleshed out and connect me to the story more. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it. Quite a lot, in fact. 3.5 stars for me means I really liked it. But there were times when I wanted to throttle Finley for her stubbornness and stupidity in certain situations. The suspense part of the story was a bit...odd. I felt the story could have easily done without it and been just fine. But it did serve as a plot driver in finally getting Finley and Grey together.

This was a quick, cute and sexy read about second chances and forgiveness. It had a little suspense, a little steam, and quite a few swoony moments. It certainly hit the spot for the mood I was in and was the perfect read to spend a Saturday afternoon on.

While I enjoyed the first book in this series (Bait&Switch) I found myself liking this one even more! OMG, Greyson Archer- you my friend are a KEEPER!!! This is a really great book with a lead alpha male that will make you swoon. Not only is he strong and sexy (I mean look at that COVER) but he is also extremely protective and kind. I loved the relationship and the way it developed between Greyson and Finley. Their relationship, while a slow burn, heated up at the exact right moment! It didn’t happen overnight and the two didn’t fall in love from the get go. Rather, they had to overcome some obstacles (which are really sad btw) before coming together. I loved how sweet and charming Greyson is. He takes on quite a big role after reentering Finley’s life and this totally melted my heart. There is nothing like a guy who is good with kids in these romance novel, gah, so sweet! Finley is also a great character. While at first I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about her I really grew to love and understand her as I read. This is a woman with baggage. Baggage that is so heartbreaking that it will make readers emotional. She puts up a strong front but like anyone, she craves loves and protection. In all honesty, I grew to love these characters so much that I didn’t want the story to end. Usually with standalone novels I don’t develop an intense connection with the characters because we don’t get to see them grow throughout a whole series. So to say that I will miss them is an understatement. BUT, I do look forward to the next book which will feature a new couple… I am SUPER excited!

The plot is amazing in this book. Young woman who will do anything to keep her family going after she loses her husband, strong alpha male that has ties to her, love hate relationship that will leave you squirming, and an overall beautiful love story within the mix. This is only my second Kendall Ryan book but I am now becoming a HUGE fan because it is clear that she knows what she is doing when it comes to writing these amazing books. Knowing this, I highly recommend getting into this series. It is fast paced, fill with sexy alpha males, and beautifully developed relationships. The writing style is superb, the length of the books is just right (not too long and not too short), and readers will feel immensely satisfied at the end. The only downfall is that we only get these characters in one book (BOO- I will MISS them). But then again, it’s not so bad because we have new characters to look forward too!

Overall, this is an easy 5-star book for me (one of my favorites of the year so far) and I highly recommend it! Readers won’t be disappointed because they will fall in love with the characters, and get the desired HEA in the end.

Slow & Steady is book 2 in Kendall Ryan's Alphas Undone Series, and focuses on the strained relationship between Greyson Archer and his fallen best friend's wife, Finley. This books dives into the raw emotions of life after losing someone you love, guilt, and absolute forgiveness.

To say this book gutted me is a strong understatement. The real life issues that are touched on tore a whole in my heart that, ultimately, only the story could repair. A unique blend of an unconventional romance, troubles past, and the chance at a future that was always wanted; I could not put this book down!

Greyson and Finley are very strong characters. Each are stubborn, fiery, caring and very loyal to the ones they love. Their past is littered with hurt, guilt and a sense of betrayal, over each other and others. I loved how the story took careful steps in healing that broken relationship. The type of forgiveness Greyson sought from Finley is not easily obtained. But after knowing how much Greyson punished himself more that what Finley ever could, was heart wrenching. I wanted to hold him and tell him it would be alright. But there's only so much you can do before it's up to the other person to take the same leap.

Kendall Ryan delivers another exceptional novel filled with love and heartache. I was hooked from page one and never looked back. Loved it!

This more a novella than a book. Short and sweet, Kendall Ryan tried to pack as much as she could into the little space she provided. However, it fell a bit flat for me. The story had such great potential and I would have really liked for it to be explored a bit more.

Finley was a widowed mother of an infant girl, trying to make ends meet through stripping. Grey was her husband's best friend and Sealmate and she blamed him for her husband's death. Grey blamed himself as well.

There was a lot of room to develop these characters further and add depth to the story. This book also had a pseudo-suspenseful portion that wasn't even thoroughly detailed.

I'm disappointed with this series because I have enjoyed many of this author's other books. I guess this series just wasn't my cup of tea.

Enjoy! xo

I enjoyed the first book in this series, and I'm glad that the second installment was a decent read too. Kendall Ryan is fast becoming one of my favorite authors and I enjoy her signature style of writing. You are guaranteed a smoking hot read with plenty of interesting, complex characters, plots with emotional depth, and swoon-worthy leading men who would literally burn the world down for their women.

Grey is no exception. Wallowing in a pit of guilt for what happened with Mason, Finley's deceased husband, Grey hasn't lived much of a life in the two years since his death. He has thrown himself into his work and casual hook-ups and not allowed himself to even anticipate happiness. A chance encounter with Finley changes everything.

As a struggling single mom, Finley has taken to the strip pole. It's dangerous, especially with a creepy guy who appears to be fixated on her, but she feels she is all out of options. When Grey turns up unexpectedly, she is brash and aloof, still bearing the scars of grief, something she feels is his fault. Gradually, she opens up to him, sharing her family life with him, and that exposes deeper vulnerabilities. Ashamed of their growing attraction, she continually pushes him away, conflicted by feelings of guilt and betrayal. Grey is upset at her persistent rejection though he has an inkling of what is going through her head.

I was anxiously waiting for the plot regarding the stalker to develop, and when it did it was a bit of a letdown. It was over in the blink of an eye, and I wish this had been fleshed out more. As it's written, I didn't feel like she was ever in any real danger. I would have liked this to have been darker, and more realistic. I think if a guy had a girl he had been fantasizing about in his house for three days he would have taken it further. It's the only reason this is a 4-star rather than 5-star review, because I can't find fault with anything else.

The writing is good, the pacing is spot on, romance is perfect, characterization is superb.

All in all, another great read from this author.

This was my first Kendall Ryan book that wasn’t a huge hit for me. I never really ended up liking the Hero or the Heroine and the story barely held my attention. I will say that the schmexy was OFF THE CHARTS HOT. So at least there was that!

Finley Sutton is a single mom and widow. Her husband was a Navy Seal who was killed in the line of duty. She doesn’t have a support system and desperate times calls for desperate measures. She ends up working as a stripper in a seedy gentleman’s club. One night a man from her past will show up at the club and will end up changing her life forever.

Greyson Archer was Finley’s husbands’ comrade in the Navy Seals. He actually was the one who made the call to go on the dangerous mission which ended up taking Marcus’ life. So Finley has quite a bone to pick with Greyson. She doesn’t warm up to him so easily and all Greyson wants to do is to provide for Finley and her daughter, Maple, so that she can quit her job as a stripper. He feels responsible for them since Marcus was his best friend and he blames himself for his friend's death.

I couldn’t relate to Finley and thought her reasons for remaining a stripper were ridiculous. She put her life in danger and was barely providing for her daughter. I thought she was foolish and selfish to refuse Greyson’s help.

There’s supposed to be a bro-code between close friends and I wish that Greyson would have had more of an internal struggle with himself and tried to fight his attraction to Finley. He just seemed very eager to get into her pants and that’s why I didn’t find him to be a swoon-worthy leading man.

Maybe this was just a case of ”it’s me, and not you”. What didn’t work for me, might work for others, so don’t let my thoughts prevent you from giving this a go. Like I said, there are some serious schmexy times going on in this one. I actually got really excited over the teaser to her next book titled Wednesday, that we get a sneak peek into at the end of this book. That is one I am definitely going to be checking out. 

Slow & Steady is the second book in the Alpha’s Undone series by Kendall Ryan. When I finished book one, I was so excited for this book to come out. Greyson Archer. Ex-Navy Seal. Finley Sutton. Single mom/stripper trying to make ends meet for her daughter. She lost her husband and Greyson was in charge of the mission. I couldn’t wait to dive in!

Greyson finds Finley in a strip-club and he feels the need to help her. He feels indebted to her and her daughter. The more time he spends with her and her daughter, Maple, that desire to help turns into so much more. He starts to fall for Finley, and Maple, too. Finley doesn’t know what to think of Greyson. It’s hard for her. She is attracted to him, has all these feelings, but a bigger, more stubborn part of her is okay on her own and doesn't want to feel anything for this man. But she does.
He made me feel like everything was going to be okay. Even though he’d been the one who made my life not-okay in the first place.

The best part of this book is all the Greyson and Maple scenes. Those parts melted my heart. It was truly perfection. I also liked that the big conflict in the story wasn’t dragged out.

Kendall Ryan is usually a hit for me. She writes the best sweet, sexy and steamy reads. For some reason, this series hasn’t been love for me. There is nothing wrong with this book. Not a big reason that I didn’t love it, I just didn’t. It was a likable book and an easy sexy read with a sweet alpha man, a single mom and an adorable kid. The drama in it was resolved quickly and I love that. This is a book I would for sure recommend if you’re looking for a quick read that will make you swoon and smile.

5 Taboo and Sinfully Sexy Stars

I LOVED this book, the characters and omg, especially that beautiful little bundle of joy, Maple..... Their journey was an emotionally tough one but it was so beautiful and so sweet and heartwarming that it left me squirming in my seat and finally, leaving the biggest and fattest smile on my face:)

What a GREAT story. Grey was so perfect. He was sexy, strong, sweet, caring, gosh, I could go on and on! Finley and Maple were also great and I loved that it was a sweet and slow burn. The build-up kept me at the edge of my seat, holding my breath while pleading silently that Finley just give in already, lololol:)

Great story and can't wait for more in this series!

3.5 stars for Finley and Greyson

This has to be my first book involving a Navy Seal. I have always steered clear of them because I'm more on the drug lord, motorcycle club, mafia son side of things in the hot for a hero department. The blurb from this one caught my attention though, I seem to have a soft spot for the single hot mom trying to make ends meet story line.
That being said I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Greyson had a lot of attractive qualities which really helped to make the story for me. Finley's character I could have taken or left, she just didn't have as much spunk as I would have liked.

A transfixing and touching story of love and loss, Slow and Steady grabbed me from the very first page, bleeding into my head and heart and never letting go. Slow and steady, my pulse raced. Slow and steady, my heart broke. Slow and steady, my head hoped. Slow and steady, my heart became whole. Slow and steady, I fell in love with this beautiful and brilliant book.

I love a good military romance with a strong alpha, the kind of man who will not only go to war but fight for his woman. He may have been banged up and wear internal scars that never heal, but will battle his demons for his lady. Protect her. Cherish her. Love her. This is the hero in Slow and Steady. A man’s man with a heart of gold that’s tarnished a little.

Greyson…oh Greyson. A strong alpha who is tall, muscular, dark-haired, and blue-eyed…every woman’s dream. He lives with survivor’s guilt as his best friend died in the battlefield, right at his side, leaving behind a beautiful wife and unborn child. Every day is another fight with internal demons plaguing his soul. He wonders what happened to his best friend’s wife, how she is coping.

Out for a night on the town, he finds her at the most unexpected of places: a strip club. Holy shocker.

“Her standing there only highlighted my every mistake. It was my failure---the reason she had to resort to this. It was my responsibility to fix it. Even if she hated me…even if she wanted nothing to do with me."

Finley is blonde, green-eyed, fair-skinned and beautiful. Since losing her Navy Seal husband during a deployment, she has struggled in every way. Financially. Emotionally. Physically. From soon-to-be family of three, to a single mom with no job, Finley became a stripper to put food on the table quickly. While not her ideal job, stripping gave her strength and self-confidence, a window to live in the moment and forget about her loss.

I want to soothe Finley, and give her a hug.

“Up on stage, I was a professional performer wearing my work uniform. I had nothing to be self-conscious about. But somehow, just the sight of Greyson pierced my armor.”

The guilt grabs Greyson every day, holding his mind hostage. A forever war in his head.

“So this is what she really thinks of me…a murderer.”

Greyson wants to right a wrong. Fix a fatal mistake. Provide a good life for his best friend’s family. If only Finley didn’t deem him the enemy. If only he wasn’t attracted to his buddy’s widow. If only he didn’t want to make Finley his. If only she weren’t forbidden.

“My entire body was throbbing with need. Finley chewed on her lower lip, struggling with something internally...was she interested in something more? The mere idea of something more…something real nipped at me, tearing tiny holes in my armor.”

Like Greyson, the past and guilt are weighing Finley down, claiming her prisoner. Greyson wants to be her present but she has lost the key to her heart; it died with her husband. Her heart is on lockdown, and may never open up again. Love and happiness no longer exist.

“All I could think about when I looked at him, no matter how kind he seemed or how striking he looked, was that he was the reason I lost my husband. That wasn’t’ something I’d ever get over. Ever.”

Greyson knows Finley feels the same pull, the chemistry igniting them, the tug of their hearts that would be perfect as one. Finley already owns his heart, but he doesn’t think he will ever get hers. He wants to be the prince charming to her Cinderella. A father to her little lady. Her and their happily ever after.

I can’t help but feel Greyson’s pain as I fall in love with this broken war hero with a big heart.

“She wasn’t meant to be mine. They weren’t meant to be mine. But that didn’t stop me from picturing it. From wanting it so badly it hurt.”

This story is not just a sizzling military romance with a former Navy seal who is all alpha. Slow and Steady is much more. Hope. Honor. Heroism. Heart. A lot of heart. Kendall Ryan cast a spell on me where I fell in love with these broken yet bold and beautiful characters…slow and steady…long and hard.

~ 5 Stars ~

Slow & Steady is a perfect title for this book. It described Greyson and Finley’s relationship to a T.

As always Kendall Ryan gave us an excellent storyline and characters who both melted my heart but also broke it at times too. This was a fairly quick read, but I didn’t feel like it was missing anything. This story touched on all of my emotions while reading it and when that happens, it makes it a 5 star read for me. I thought the pace and flow of the story was excellent. Even though the story takes place over a short period of time, it really didn’t feel rushed to me. I loved the pace she took Finley and Greyson at. Their relationship was one that needed to be nurtured….they had a lot to work out because of their connection to the same past.

Slow & Steady is the second book in Kendall’s Alphas Undone Series. This is a stand alone book and I believe it can be read that way. I don’t feel that if this is the first book you read in this series that you would be lost. We do see the other characters from the first book, but they don’t play a huge part in the storyline, and Kendall fills in the spots that might lead to questions.

In this book we follow the journey of Finley and Greyson. Finley is a single mom who is struggling to make a good life for her and her daughter Maple, since her husband was killed while in the service. What makes things hard for Finley is how her husband died. He was on a mission with his Navy SEAL commander and friend Greyson. So to say that Finley places a lot of blame on Greyson is an understatement. Greyson also has some severe guilt over his friends death and also blames himself. When he runs into Finley working at a local strip club, he is determined to help her and Maple. He is met with some serious resistance on behalf of Finley. Will these two ever get over the past and be able to look to a future together?? You will need to read this book to see how everything plays out. I will say that Kendall through in some shockers along the way with the storyline. There was one part I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest ;)

What I loved the most about this book was that it focused on the healing that Greyson and Finley needed to do and really didn’t focus on the sex we see in most books lately. Yes there are sex scenes in this book, but not until close to the end of the story. And to tell the truth I really didn’t miss it that much. I felt the connection to these two characters without having it turn physical. Like I said, I think they had so much to work out, that I was glad to see that sex didn’t play into the mix. I also enjoyed that even though Finley and Greyson weren’t being intimate during most of the book, they didn’t turn to others for comfort. That was refreshing to see!!

So if you are a fan of Kendall Ryan’s, you are going to want to 1-click this book and get to reading!!! I also think that if Kendall is a new author to you, this is a great book to start with. You get to see all the love and emotion that Kendall puts into her books.

4.5 STARS

I really liked this one!! Kendall Ryan does an awesome job with her angsty, steamy books, and I think this one may be my favorite one of hers. Grey and Finley had so much painful baggage to move through before they could get to friendship, never mind love. I admit, at one point I stopped reading to go back to reread the blurb to make sure that there'd be an HEA. I just couldn't see how they were going to get there with all that they had to wade through. My heart actually clenched painfully in my chest at one point.

There were some very poignant moments in this book, too. The graveyard scene gave me goosebumps and a lump in my throat. Gah! I just loved Grey! As sexy and badass as this former SEAL could be, he could also be so sweet and patient and tender, the combination yielded a delicious hero who definitely got my heart racing. This determined SEAL was willing to do whatever it took to wade through the minefield of this single mom's pain.

This was a great way to spend my Saturday afternoon. This book had it all: a struggling single mom who was a little bit broken, a strong but gentle SEAL who was also broken and a true love story that brought both these characters' broken parts together and healed them into a whole. It was sexy and beautiful. There was a suspenseful subplot that held my interest and flipped me out. And finally, little Maple - images of her and Grey together were so sweet I could've gotten a toothache.

I've wanted to read it since I first read the blurb. I am so so glad that I did. Loved it!!

The title Slow & Steady by Kendall Ryan is fitting to describe this second chance romance of a single mom and her deceased husband’s friend. I am sucker when it comes to second chance romance and to know that it was written by Kendall Ryan, I knew that I was up for a sexy and beautifully well-written story.

In this tale, Ms. Ryan carves up a story that delivers that slow burn passion feel. When Greyson Archer sees Finley stripping, something strikes it in him to help his friend’s widow. He know that Finley shouldn’t be stripping and can’t stand to know that Marcus's widow is struggling financially. And soon Greyson inserts himself into the life of Finley and her daughter, Maple. Will Finley be able to let her heart love again and welcome this uncharted territory? Can she get her second chance at love?

What is there not to love about this book? A hot sexy ex-NAVY SEALS...Check! An adorable child...Check! A single mom learning to love again...Check! A little suspense thrown into the mix..Check! Yes, while I wished this book was a bit longer, I did find myself enjoying this touching and beautiful love story about a couple finding healing, support, trust, and a forever ending. So if you are looking for a quick, sweet romance that has an added layer of suspense thrown into the mix then Slow & Steady might be the book for you. As always, Kendall Ryan writes a crisp story that is beautiful and sensual. It definitely left you feeling at peace knowing that a second chance at life and love are not lost. It may come at the least unexpected moment in your life. And for Finley, a slow and steady unexpected encounter with Greyson Archer was all she needed to breathe back love into her soul, heart, and mind.

4.5 hearts

I’m a big fan of Kendall Ryan and I read all of her books! They are all wonderful, exciting, intriguing stories. I also typically finish them in a few hours in one sitting! Slow & Steady is the second book in Alpha's Undone Series. We met Greyson in Bait & Switch so we know he's a tortured soul. He blames himself for the death of his best friend on a mission that went wrong. Marcus left behind a gorgeous wife who Greyson knew before the tragedy. Unfortunately she also blames him, so he was never allowed to apologize. When he sees Finley, Marcus's widow, he can't help but want to help her. He knows she has a baby so he keeps showing up with food and offering help. Finley is extremely proud and doesn’t want to accept any help, especially from Grey. She still blames him for her husband's death and she can't stand him. But, she really needs the help and finally gives in and lets him come over and see her daughter and bring them dinner a few days a week. After a few months, Grey can't help but admit he's fallen for her. Things start to heat up, but Finley can't get over the guilt even though she's softening to Grey and doesn't really blame him anymore. Grey walks away and he's miserable. He's reminded that he never gives up so he goes after her only to find something's not right. Will Grey save Finley before it's too late? Will Finley realize she has room to love again? I enjoyed this story! Everyone deserves a second chance at love, you just have to open your heart!

Now that he'd touched me, though, I couldn't stand the idea of never feeling him again.

Damn his stupid sexy voice, telling me exactly what I wanted to hear.

I like the book much better than the first one. I love it when my hero's feelings are hurt by the heroine's rejections. It makes it much more sweeter when they finally got their HEA.

3.5 - 4 Stars

Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed book 1 in this series, "Bait and Switch." I loved Nolan and Lacey and was really looking forward to reading about Greyson and Finley.

This book started out strong. I immediately fell in love with Greyson and his overprotective qualities towards Finley and Maple. I found the friendship endearing and appreciated the slow build of their relationship as Finley began to trust and forgive Greyson.

It was the middle of the book that Kendall started to lose me a bit. For those that read Bait and Switch (not a requirement to read Slow and Steady btw), the plot line seemed very familiar. Once Brant was introduced at the club, I knew where this story was leading and it felt very predictable. The only good thing though, was that this arc in the story was wrapped up quickly...almost too quickly.

The ending of the book though made me fall back in love with Kendall Ryan and Slow and Steady. I LOVED the fact that Greyson took Finley and Maple back to the cemetery to talk to Marcus. That scene was really emotional and I felt it was very appropriate and necessary for their relationship to move on.

Overall, I liked the book. It was a quick, fun read but it was probably not my favorite of Kendall Ryan's.

Slow and Steady is the first novel I have read of Kendall Ryan and let me just say will definitely not be the last. I loved her characters and were drawn very quickly into their lives my attention never failing until the turn of the final page. Despite the shared tragedy and conflict surrounding their lives, the undeniable emotional connection between them continues to draw Grey back to Finley and her daughter although she still persists in pushing him away. Will Grey ever be able to break through the barriers Finley continues to erect and prove to her the inescapable connection that joins their lives and their hearts together with a love neither of them ever anticipated they would find?

Slow and Steady was a fairly quick read as I finished Grey and Finley's story in only a few hours and I enjoyed every minute of it. I simply didn't want to put it down.

I got this book for free. I love Kendall Ryan. Obviously. She's one of my top authors that I don't hesitate when buying her books. Slow & Steady started off good. Finley is a stripper by day, momma by night. Her late husband's best friend Greyson shows up to try and rescue her (it didn't go well). I was little bored, until Finley gets kidnapped ... I'm not sure how that really played in the story line but it caught my attention. I guess from reading Kendall's previous work, I was expecting a little bit more sexy scenes, but we do eventually get Greyson and Finley together, and their HEA is sweet to the touch. Overall, this wasn't one of my favorite books by KR, but it's not one of the worst.

Love heals

Such a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. Love heals indeed. So beautiful how it started with concern and feeling of obligation towards a dead comrade 's widow that blossomed into real passionate love. Ahhh love the characters, both Greyson and Finley and even sweet Maple so adorable. Thanks Kendall, goid story.

Cute - nothing 'slow and steady' about it though. I'd like to see the author's definition of 'hard and fast' haha
