Go Hard #2

Go Long

Rate this book
There's are 2 cardinal rules in football that you never break . . . One, you don't mess around with another player's girl and, two, you don't touch the coach's daughter. Well, I've never been good at following the rules . . .

Belinda Carmichael is uptight, prissy and the hottest girl I've ever seen. She's also the head coach's precious baby girl. And she's entirely off limits.

The trouble is, I didn't know who she was when I met her. And she had no idea I was her daddy's newest star player. It was her job to show me around campus, and I showed her a lot more than that. But we fumbled the ball – she never told a soul who got her pregnant.

Not even me, the baby daddy.

As the quarterback I'm not supposed to date the coach's daughter. I'm definitely not supposed to knock her up. Well, too bad. I don't just want to date her. I don't just want her in my bed. I want to score the ultimate, game-winning touchdown.

Her heart.

"Go Long" has a guaranteed HEA and no cheating!

Alright I've calmed down a bit and now I'm going to give my review.

People. When did it become acceptable to trade character development and plot for "safety"? Sure the H only has eyes for the h and yes he never gives up on her but those 2 things are the ONLY. GOOD. THINGS about this....this "book".

*spoilers*

*I'm not even kidding, there's fucking spoilers everywhere*

We get the first sex scene at 5% but that's not saying much because the whole STORY is over by 35% due to two more books being included. The 19 year old h is showing this just out of the Marines 21 year old freshman around campus. He flirts with her hard and she's all omg I'm here to study not flirt with boys and he teases her until she says oh let's be a bad girl and goes to have a drink wth him. Not a whole lot of stunning conversation is a had before they're heading up to his room to "do it". (Her thoughts) She's a virgin due to her overprotective coach father who apparently sprays any man who comes within 20 yards of her with a firehose. You're inside HIS head for the sex scene which was just a bad call. His thoughts are not those of a "hardened" 21 year old marine but more like a 16 year old who's feeling his first titty. The first cringe comes when he "slides his finger in her hot little box".

description

Then after making sure to stress that his nickname is "Thick" and his hard on is apparently so massive it can knock over ketchup bottles he takes her virginity and A MINUTE LATER she's "shuddering all over his pole" aka having an orgasm. Yeah RIGHT. Now it's his turn to come! "My legs froze in place as I felt a king sized orgasm start. My balls felt like lava lamps as they rolled over and gave up the goods."

....I'm sorry, what?
description

Your balls....felt like lava lamps?
Oooooookay...

Anyyyyyway he's all "Yer amerzing" and she's all "Uh did you use a condom?" and he's all no silly but you're on the pill, right? and she inexplicably lies and says yes. He skip off to the loo thinking how he's so happy he has a girlfriend and it's only his first day in college and she grabs her clothes and sneaks out. So a few weeks go by and the H can't stop thinking of her and his coach brings him to his house for dinner where of course he finds his mysterious one night stand setting the table. She blows him off, he says hey come over to my dorm or I'll tell your dad we banged. So she shows up and when he's trying to talk her into going upstairs he has a sweet moment where his inner dialogue is actually mature and caring. *gasp*

"I tipped her chin up, staring down at her lovely, confused face. I realized I would never do anything to hurt her. Or let anyone hurt her. I felt a strange emotion settle over me."
Awwwwww

And then.....he ruins it. "I had no idea what it was and I didn't care. I had more pressing things on my mind at the moment. Like getting into her kitty."
Ugh

Anyway they start fooling around and she admits to him she lied about being on the pill and the dude is inexplicably thrilled and says he would be proud to be her baby daddy and says let's make lots of babies! and pounces on her. *rubs temples* He makes it clear to her that they're together now and exclusive so she'd better not even look at another guy cuz she's his etc etc and she gets all NO MAN IS THE BOSS OF ME, I'M LEAVING, SO THERE! and he pouts and jerks off alone to the fantasy of her begging him to "make a baby inside her". Okay, sure.

3 weeks pass and she's still avoiding him, she finds out she's pregnant (duh) and still doesn't consider responding to him. He makes up his mind to throw rocks at her window and they make out in his car and she leaves YET AGAIN with her "stay away from me " bullshit.

Then in the next chapter it's suddenly a few weeks later and all of the sudden they're just...together, the only explanation being "We'd been sneaking around, meeting every couple of days for the past few weeks. She had stopped fighting the attraction between us after that night in my car. She was with me, all the way. Not publicly but in my heart I knew she was mine. It was amazing. It was perfect." Wait, what?? They're just together now?? No need to include the readers on what made her change her mind or any of the events surrounding it? Did someone sit on the remote and press the fast forward button?? Uuuuugggghhhhh.

So they're doing their thing and she not only hasn't told him about the pregnancy but at some point has apparently lied to him and told him she got on the pill so now they can go bareback. Yeah, why include the readers on any of that in the present tense so we can get a glimpse into what the hell she was thinking, I mean ha ha that would be SILLY! They have an overnight stay in a hotel and he tells her he loves her. Okay.

So the next day her mom finds her brochure from the clinic, and her dad gets home and of course flips out. Then all of the sudden V.C. Andrews rises from the dead and takes over by having her parents LOCK HER UP IN HER ROOM FOR 3 DAYS. In the year 2016!!!

"My parents hadn't just locked me in here. They'd taken my laptop and cell phone first. My meals were brought to me. My mother would not even look at my face when she brought the food, let alone speak to me. She just carried my tray in while my father stood in the hallway, blocking the door. Then when it was time for the next meal, she'd take the tray out again. Other than that, it was like I was completely shut off from the world."

Her mom finally caves and lets her out and she takes a train to stay with a friend and her inner dialogue goes something like, "Kyle isn't the settling down type, it's not fair to tie him down with a baby, he probably hates me anyway and it's not like he asked me to marry him so yeah I don't need a man I can do this alone." Huh?!?! Bitch he'd just told you he loved you the night before all contact was cut off (and she didn't say it back to him!!) but he's supposed to have asked you to marry him?? GTFO I'm done with your silly ass.

Anyway he calls his old marine buddies who somehow have the Intel to trace her phone, he goes after her, fucks her in the ass with coconut oil as lube (yes really), asks her to marry him, has a smoothie and they go back to her parents place because poof all is well and he's gonna play football and they's gon' get hitched and yay the end.

Sigh.

I'd give it negative stars if I could...

WOW...this book was SO bad...so so very bad..

description

description

"She bit her lip and blushed. A hot surge of lust shot through me. I was in a bad way. If I stood up right now, I'd knock over the ketchup bottle with my dick. Yeah, it was that long."

I don't know about y'all, but I have a hard time believing a giant dick encased in jeans is going to knock a ketchup bottle that sitting on the middle of the table. Perhaps a call to Ripley's is in order...

description

Then we had this diddy... "I was stunned. She'd lied to me about the pill. My perfect angel had been keeping secrets. And now she was in trouble because of it."

Umm, this statement would have been fine had they not had the discussion way earlier in the book about how she wasn't on the pill, and how excited that made him because he wanted to get her pregnant...

Perhaps the author suffers from short term memory loss...

Oh and I am not all that well informed about U.S military, but it seemed a bit far fetched that this dude enlisted, became a Marine, and got out, all by the ripe old age of 21??

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I have read so many of Joanna Blake's books that I have begun to loose count. She always provides the steam and characters that are madly in love and undeniably drawn to one another. What appealed to me and made me go all gooey was the forbidden aspect of the relationship. What can be more forbidden than a player who should be focused on his team but is instead focused on the coach's daughter. Kyle and Belinda are insta-love and spontaneous combustion from the moment they lay eyes on each other. Little did they know that they would be linked in a way that they never expected.

Kyle Connor has returned from serving our country and is ready to work hard through college and play some ball. Those are his two goals until he sees one of the most beautiful, innocently seductive girls on campus. She is there to give him a tour but what he has in mind is giving her a personal tour of his dorm room. Things quickly heat up between him and Belinda and boil over and explode when identities are revealed and secrets are kept. Kyle was all besotted alpha and had my heart in his clutches from the beginning to the end of the book. Who wouldn't want a roll in the hay with a chiseled athlete that has better game off the field than on it. He knows what he wants and he goes after it and doesn't let anyone stand in his way including Belinda or her father.

Belinda Carmichael has always been daddy's little sheltered princess and did everything that daddy told her to. When she meets a gorgeous guy on campus and he shows interest, she decides to throw caution to the wind and stop sitting on the sidelines. What she doesn't realize is that once you are in the game of love there is no time outs to be had. Belinda's character was all sweet and innocence mixed with sexual curiosity and the need to please her parents. She is the epitome of a little sister who you want to protect while simultaneously shaking some sense into her.

Joanna Blake gives us another smokin' hot athlete with big muscles and an even bigger heart. Kyle and Belinda find scorching hot desire and love in the most unlikely of places and I believe that is what romance is all about. I highly recommend Go Long for a love story that will sweep you off your feet and carry your heart across the field.

I can never pass up a sports-related - especially football - romance. But I should have this time around. Totally unbelievable and unrealistic with no game of football but plenty of sex games - so much so that the whole thing was just that and no substance. I did finish what thankfully was very short.

Go Long should’ve been called Go Short because there was nothing long about this book. NOTHING! Okay, maybe the dude’s junk was “thick and extremely long” but that’s about as long as it got for this book.

This book had so many flags that it should’ve been ejected from the game completely and suspended indefinitely.

FLAG: For Stupid Characters

Kyle is a 21-year-old retired Marine who has decided to go back to college and try out for the football team. Now he’s about to move into the dorms and he’s waiting for his tour guide and when he sees this girl who is of course a Greek Goddess but with red hair its insta lust. His mission is to get in her pants by the end of the night.

Enter Belinda (not a fan of the name) who is of course the Greek Goddess tour guide. Now Belinda is extremely sheltered, she’s not allowed to date or go to parties and has to be home before dinner….and she’s 19. I’m not saying that that’s crazy because I have lived that but Belinda’s case was a little more extreme.

So Kyle manages to get Belinda to go on a date with him she has two beers and the next thing we know they’re having sex. Oh let’s not forget she’s a virgin. Let’s not forget this little gem right here:

“I-did you wear a condom?”
I chucked her under the chin.
“No sweetheart. You’re on the pill though, right?”

And this little gem:

“My first day here and I’d already got myself a girlfriend. And what a fine ass girlfriend she was.”

THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER’S NAMES. HE DIDN’T EVEN ASK HER IF SHE WANTED TO BE HIS GIRLFRIEND.

Now this happened all by 6% of the book and I wish I could say I was lying but I’m not. This all happened by 6% is that a record? I think it is.

FLAG: FOR STUPIDITY?

Let’s fast forward like a page and now we are back to where Kyle is about to jump Belinda’s bones and she confesses that she is not on the pill at all.

“Remember last time you asked if I was on the pill?

“Well I’m not” ….
“What? Why the hell didn’t you tell me?”

Oh I don’t know maybe because you just randomly ejaculated in her and didn’t even bother to ask her about the pill, STDs or if she was a virgin!!!!

But then he snaps out of it and we get this:

“Belinda – I don’t care. Fucking A!”
He grinned at me stupidly.
“I’d love to make a baby with you.”

“I’d be fucking proud to be your baby daddy.”

And that was at 11%. I rolled my eyes so much that I thought they were going to stay that way. I thought maybe this book was going to redeem itself because it is 500 pages long so I thought okay, we’re off to a bad start but the ending will be great there’s tons of room for character development etc.

Except that didn’t happen.

FLAG: BORDERLINE DELUSIONAL NOT ALPHA

Now I don’t mind an Alpha male at all but there’s a line between alpha and this is an insane psycho who is going to chop me in my sleep.

Kyle crossed this line for me and he’s the kind of guy I would’ve tried and gotten a restraining order on and probably would’ve kicked him in the balls.

“First of all, you’re mine. You don’t so much look at another guy got it?”
Her jaw dropped. She got it. I continued.
“Second of all, I call the shots. When, where, how much.”
“How much what?”
I grinned.
“How much we fuck.”
Her mouth snapped shut. Her cheeks were practically glowing pink. Oh yeah, she was getting it alright.
“This is a long-term arrangement. You play by the rules and I will treat you like a queen. You don’t have anything to worry about. I promised to take care of you, with or without a baby. No matter what.”

So what happens if she doesn’t play by the rules? That’s what I wanted to know because this sounds like the beginning of those stalking turned killer news articles we read.

FLAG: KIDNAPPING

Belinda ends up pregnant, no surprise there right? Anyway she hides it from her parents but then end up finding out, again no surprise right? Of course some parents may become upset to find out that their teenage daughter is pregnant. Oh no not these parents. These parents take things to a whole other level.

Belinda is 19. An Adult. But her parents take away her laptop, her phone, lock her door with padlocks and seal her window shut. She’s not even allowed to use the restroom unless her parents escort her to the restroom and back.

THAT’S KIDNAPPING!!! THAT’S ILLEGAL.

FLAG: NO RESEARCH

I’m not 100% sure how the Marines work but I do know the fact that he’s 21 and retired was a bit far fetch. If he had been a bit older, I could let that slide.

Now football didn’t play a big part in the book but when it did play apart, everything was wrong. I am a huge college and NFL watcher so I couldn’t let the inconsistences pass.

An untried athlete CAN start but it’s up to the coach. But you CANNOT kick a player off the team just because they knocked up your daughter. I’m sorry there has to be a valid reason for them to be kicked off the team. And lastly, once the player has been kicked off the team they cannot go back two-three games later and play again. You have to sit out the rest of the year.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

This was really bad and the whole story ends by 35% so those other 400 pages? That’s two other books not this whole story. If this story had been better researched and had better development and a better storyline it would’ve been good.

It’s an overdone cliche.
Why make the h a virgin, just so the person she loses her virginity to is the H? Is that supposed to make it more romantic? Yet, she’s drops her pants for the H 5 minutes after meeting him?

I liked this one but I can't say it's my absolute favorite Joanna Blake book. I think I just wanted more from the story; like more of them hiding their relationship/sneaky sex & more scenes of them interacting at school, instead of the whole New York thing.

Kyle was a-freakin'-mazing but Belinda aka Bellie (one of the worst nicknames ever, IMO) was a little too irritating for my liking. She had too much "runner" in her & it drove me bonkers; especially when Kyle was willing to give up everything for her & she didn't even tell him the truth of the situation at first.

The scenes with his military buddies were fun, as was the special gift from them... I think it'd be fantastic if there were stories for those guys in the future! I would LOVE to get more Kyle!!

2.5 stars! this really wasn't the best. I did enjoy some if it but between heroine always running away and hero always about sex I just couldn't get too much into it . Some were just too unrealistic too me. I know it's not a non fiction book but come on now. Lol the hero was devoted to her I'll give him that! I did enjoy the epilogue!

safety: of course hero was a manwhore. he had his fair share of women. he does mention a little about his past. Heroine was a virgin. No om or ow drama! well actually there is this one girl who tries to flirt with him but he isn't having it.

I never thought I would say this but...there was WAY too much sex in this story...it was all sex with a little bit of story. Normally I'm good with that but in this book it just didn't work for me. The story was well written and it had some good parts with such a sweet ending but I wouldn't read it again.

This is the first book that I have read from Joanna Blake and I think that she is a talented writer and would definitely give her another chance with reading more from her.

This book was corny to the MAX. Maybe a good read for someone who like corny romance reads. The book was a Fast read and reminds me of a intro level Harlequin romance book.
Miltary guy goes to college and falls for the coaches daughter. Had potential but to corny.

It is a real cute story full of sex, steamy romance and a baby too boot!!

Kyle ex Marine now college student meets the girl of his dreams and a virgin to boot! Also turns out her dad is ex Marine and the football coach. His daughter Belinda is off limits, well that makes her more tempting for Kyle since he took her virginity before knowing the coach! Fun story !! Recommend with a 5Stars rating

I am glad I got this book free! There was no character development, the guy was a douche, just wanted in her pants and pouted when he couldn't get it. The girl was a wimp, she tried to be strong, but she gave in every time. It could have been a good book, if there had been a story and not just sex! I didn't even read the other 2 books that came with the download.

Don't read if you are looking for a deep meaningful relationship. The hero if you could call him that has sex on his mind 24/7 The only time sex wasn't talked about in this book was when he was having a conversation with her dad.
There was not much of anything but sex and it was just over the top and not even interesting.

I don't even know where to begin. This book is BAD. you have an ex military guy that meets a virgin girl in college and all he can think about is sex. I feel like, as I am reading this book, is the guy acts as if he is a horny teenager. 30+% into this book and I am rolling my eyes everytime the guy opens his mouth. There is NO romance whatsoever. There is no story. Every page is a sex scene or he's talking about his/her junk. It's gonna be hard to finish this book. Once I start reading a book, I like to finish it. Whether it's good or not. But this one may be hard to finish. If I could give it half a star I would. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Please save your time and money!

No! Just no! The only interesting thing about this book was the blurb (no joke!). The writing style was very poor. The references the h, Kyle, used to describe his anatomy was ridiculous. No chemistry whatsoever between Belinda and Kyle. The sex scenes were bad. Belinda kept changing her mind so much I didn't like her character at all.

I've read 2 other books by this author and they were actually good :/ I have no idea what happened with this one was a miss!

****SPOILERS AHEAD****

Belinda loses her virginity to Kyle the first day she meets him within hours and after he realizes he didn't wear a condom she lies to him and tells him she's on birth control o.O but that's not the worst part; when she tells him the truth a few days later, he seems happy and that upsets her so she leaves. -_- <-- this was my face most of the time reading this book!

When Kyle tries to win her back because he realizes he wants a baby and to be with her. The texts that he sends Belinda were tempting to her (rolls eyes) i.e:

Come to my room Belinda
Take your clothes off and get in my bed Belinda
Bend over Belinda
Ride me Belinda

Seriously?! Ugh just no!

3 weeks go by and when she throws up she realizes she might be pregnant and starts to worry (umm how did she not worry before?!) when she goes to the clinic they tell her it's too late to take the morning after pill a month later! I mean duh! -.-

One thing I hated that Belinda did was she didn't tell Kyle (who honestly didn't do anything bad to her) about the baby! -_-

At the end of a chapter Belinda's crying and saying she's 110% resolute of her decision to walk away from Kyle but the beginning of the next chapter has Kyle stating that they've been sneaking off for a few weeks. Wth?! Talk about bipolar!

Her parents find out she's pregnant and lock her in her room! Her dad wants her to have an abortion and acts a bit too crazy. A few days later her mom sets her free.

Kyle finds out the truth Belinda has been keeping from him yet doesn't get mad. Again, this I don't get! Belinda calls him and even though he tells her he wants to be with her she tells him to forget her and the baby! As if!

The fact that he still wants to marry her even though she is clearly bipolar and is a very immature person who doesn't care what he feels is no bother to him considering when he finds her he still wants to marry her. And yes, I am rolling my eyes as I am writing this.

They get their HEA and she works things out with her parents and they eventually accept Kyle. But honestly, a lot of it was unrealistic. I skimmed through most of it because it was that boring. Sad but true.

Kyle and Belinda.
What a sweet couple!
Ok so Kyle just got discharged from the Marines and now he's going to collage. His tour guide, Belinda is a sweet innocent young woman who is just the girl who is soft on the eyes, and well, she's a sweet little Red head. Her momma and daddy doesn't let her date, she is to do class, then work, and then come straight home.
Well lets just say thats not what happens. What happens is well, she gets some 'alone time' with The hot stud muffin, Kyle.
When Kyle joins the football team, the coach decides to take him home, and to introduce his family to his new QB, the coach has just ONE rule.... DON'T FLIRT WITH HIS DAUGHTER. Well you've guessed it, the daughter is the sweet little Red head, Belinda.
So what happens after that. What happens when Belinda finds her self in a tight spot and things are just not goin her way, she has a future with school, theres no going back on her 'mistakes' but who will be there when her 'mistake' is out in the open. Will she have the support group that she so desperately need or will everybody just run away, turn their back on her because well, Sweet little Belinda has 'ruined' her familys name, or well thats what Her parents thing anyways.
So. This book is sweet, its a fast read but not to fast. You learn some 'interesting' stuff in this book, 'medical, along with other area stuff' But this book is fascinating. This is about the 5th book i've read from Mrs.Blake and well she didn't disappoint in her writing. I have enjoyed her books ever since i seen the 'sponsored' tabs on facebook. Her covers are 'wheww i need a napkin' lol but seriously, none of her books disappoint. Its a good one.
So would i reread this book?! absolutely.
Do i recommend this book?! YES. if you love a good sports romance, but its not ALL ABOUT the sports, then this book is for you! I loved how Kyle was a marine, and now he's a collage football star. Its pretty awesome. I mean who doesn't love a good marine/sport romance book :)
I received this book for my honest review!!

This was a super steamy, very hot read by Joanna Blake. You have the love story of Belinda and Kyle.
Belinda is innocent, virginal and so into the rules, it is at times not funny. She is going to school to be a nurse and she is also working part time as a nursing assistant. Her life is going to plan until something or should I say someone causes her to derail in spectacular fashion –Kyle. He is a new student and he makes her want to throw her rule book away.
Kyle was in the Marines to earn enough money to get thru College and his main goal was to play Football. First day on the campus and he met this woman who changed his thinking- as the reader we could see how he fell head over heels in love with her but then he found out she was the coach’s daughter and that meant she was so off limits to everyone. But that didn’t stop Kyle-he planned on making her his. Kyle made her his and then he found out he also made her pregnant.
The story is about how they deal with her pregnancy, her parents, especially her father and with Belinda’s insecurity when she sees Kyle with other women. I know at times it could have gone off into the “OMG he’s a man-whore, im outta here” territory but it didn’t. Yes, there was one or two times where Belinda did come off as immature but that is because of how sheltered she was. When she grew up and stood up to her parents and showed Kyle how she loved him and their unborn baby, well, that made me root so much more for them. The twists and turns, the angst, the passion and I DO mean passion in this story will keep you entertained from page one until the very last. Kyle is very alpha and Belinda is one heroine that you find matures from a very sheltered woman to a very independent miss . Great story and I cannot wait for the next one by this author. Awesome and Hot Read.

My rating: 4.6 stars *****

This was a sexy, very steamy and hilarious book! I don't know if the author meant for it to be so damn funny, but I laughed a whole lot! :D It was a quick and great read. I read it in one sitting, and loved it. The heroine's parents, dad especially, were off their rocker cray cray, but it made for an interesting situation. The heroine was too naive, but with the way her dad was, that was to be expected. The hero was hot and possessive. I loved it ;)

Here's some lines that I couldn't help but laugh at, whether they were intended to be so funny or not ;)
P.S. There might be slight spoilers, but nothing too major

"It's okay baby, I just want to use the tip." "What?" He stopped smiling and turned me around so that I faced the mirror. "I'm joking. I'm going to use the whole thing."

"So, everything is okay? Can you tell if it's a girl or a boy yet?" "Everything is fine. Actually, its early but we can definitely tell the sex. Right now if you like." Bellie nodded. "Yes please." I nodded too. "Well if you look here, you can see this thick line..." I knew what he was going to say before he said it. "I have to be frank, this is the most well endowed baby I've ever seen." I grinned at him. "It's genetic."

"What about, you know, sex. How long can we..." He smiled and adjusted his stethoscope. "You can continue sexual intercourse until the seventh or eight month. As long as its comfortable for the mother. Then there are plenty of non-invasive ways to have sex that are fine after that." "Awesome, thanks Doc." I almost high fived the guy, but I refrained. I looked at Belinda who was covering her face in embarrassment. "Did you hear that babe? Other ways." "I heard it. I can't believe you asked him that!" "Just you wait, little mama. We are going to have fun!"

I'm a numbers person - so I constantly keep track of my page numbers and what percentage I'm at in the book. And how much more I need to read. So to say I was shocked when I came to the infamous "the end" at 35% would be an understatement. I had convinced myself that the author was building this story up to something bigger and better than I could imagine. Sadly it did not. There were no big surprises - the storyline was pretty predictable. There were explicit details that, looking back, I thought might come into play later and be significant, but now it seems they were just filler or perhaps a fleeting thought that wasn't successfully tied into the tale with any purpose. The whole lifestyle of Bets and her fellow communals makes absolutely no sense to me in terms of any significance to the story. The whole dungeons and dragons parenting seemed off as well. No conceivable reason was mentioned as to why they acted the way they did and what made them feel justified to lock her away. I'm not saying this couldn't be real, just that I didn't feel the author made it seem believable, especially after she went back to living there before the wedding?!
Now I did thoroughly enjoy Kyle's character and his relationship with his fellow soldiers. There wasn't a whole lot said about his history .. and what was said was with minimal details. The sex was HOT. Kyle was commanding & dominating with Belinda. This story is definitely one of insta-love. But overall there seemed to be missing the glue that could bind it together. The ending was missing more of their future together as far as his career. There was nothing noted about Belinda's schooling, education or career. There were just too many loose ends that didn't get connected or even addressed for me.

Well this was a dnf for me.. I was going to because Ive read other books by this author and liked them so I putted along praying it would get better but it got worse. So I had to check to see if I was the only one and Im not.
For starters-this book seriously needs to be edited by someone, anyone, please.

Now being a Marine wife I may be slightly(alot) biased here but do your freaking homework!
Seriously, Marines go to bootcamp NOT basic training, and don't get me started on the 3 year Sgt and deployed Private thing. Just No. Then the penis and vagina references, getting into her Kitty, jock, shaft... Overall the entire male POV was just horrible like a virgin trying to explain how sex feels-comparing his balls to a lava lamp?

The list goes on and on. And since when was flying in the early stages of pregnancy not okay? And then her parents locking her in her room-illegal much? The inconsistencies with this story were so bad, one minute he's fulfilling a promise he made to his mother on her death bed and nothing will get in his way to make something more of himself. The next he's totally game to get the coaches daughter pregnant after knowing her for 2 seconds.
Add that to Belinda(terrible name choice) wanting nothing to do with him and telling him to never talk to her again, and then boom next page they've been seeing each other for 3 weeks behind everyones back. Leaving me and everyone to wonder why? What happened? Why did she change her mind? Can we get the story and not a oh hey btw this happened okay carry on.

Overall this was a complete disappointment for me, I am totally game for some trashy quick over played plot but this was just bad.

This was a really cute book but it was really short.

Kyle comes from a very poor town and he had dreams of being a Quarterback and possibly becoming a professional football player. But his school never had any chances of scouts coming to see him play or getting a scholarship to college. So he joins the Marines for the GI Bill and ends up being a freshman in college at the age of 21. On his first day of college, Belinda is his tour guide and they both have an instant attraction for the other. Belinda is the football coaches daughter and her parents have been extremely controlling and protective. She's never dated anyone and she's a virgin. Kyle knows he wants her instantly and he's thrilled that he might end up having a girlfriend in college. Kyle and Belinda end up having sex and then she disappears. Kyle goes to tryouts and such for the football team but the team already has a Quarterback but then the Coach and others see how talented he is.

Kyle is strong, talented, and he goes after what he wants. He has set his sights on Belinda and he knows she is who he wants. When he finds out that she's the coaches daughter, he feels bad but he's already hooked and won't let anything stand in the way.

Belinda is a wonderful woman with great abilities and goals. She's let her parents control her for years because she didn't want to cause problems down the road. She wants to be with Kyle but is scared to bring it up with her father, so she keeps their relationship a secret.

Worth reading.

>Book review - Go Long -

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is a standalone story with an HEA. Belinda is raised so strictly, her parents almost seem abusive. Later in the story they actually lock her in her room for days. She never dated and needs to be home from her last college class by a certain time. She does have a long distance friendship with a hippie girl that tends to keep Belinda informed of how the 'real world' acts. Belinda works at the college and has to show a freshman transfer his dorm. Kyle is no normal freshman. Going to school on the GI bill, he is 21 and a veteran marine.

>Kyle's thoughts regarding Belinda are so sleezy. He just wants to jump her and sets off to seduce her. The hook up was ridiculously fast and with Kyle's man whore ways, you'd think he'd remember protection as Belinda is obviously a virgin. Belinda is the football coaches daughter and Kyle is now team quarterback. The have to hide their relationship. This story was less about football and more about Belinda running away and hiding and Kyle doing a 180 in his actions towards her. Suddenly he's a knight in shining armor. He seemed to be two different characters, at times.

>Belinda's parents are always the same, very mean. They should win the least loving award. How Belinda came out normal is a miracle. The goofy hippie friends lend a bit of humor to the book. There was a tease to some locker room drama, but the author doesn't go anywhere with it.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I wanted more sports to go with the romance.
