My name is Lane Sheridan... at least that’s what most of America thinks. I’ve made myself into who I am today with the help of my two best friends. Braydon, the musician, is more of a brother to me than my real ones. Then there’s Alexis...
my Alexis.
I’ve always dreamed of making her mine but am too scared to make the move.
I’m waiting on test results that will change my entire life. Now all I need to ask myself is... do I keep her at arm’s length, or bring her close...
Only if it is just For Now?

5 Unforgettable stars.

"For Now" reaches in and grabs a hold of your heart. "Expect the unexpected."

I have been in an emotional meltdown over my review for this story since I first read this. M. Dauphin really threw me a curve ball with For Now. It was nothing at all like what I expected and better than anything I could of hoped for.

Its sexy, sad, hopeful, and heartbreaking. The emotional connection of these character drawn you in a you become fast friends. The bond is unbreakable and their love for each other is endless. Remarkable story.

This is M. Dauphin's best work EVER !!

I highly recommend. For Now is book 1 in The Promise Series.

3.5 stars for this one!

I can only imagine how hard this story was to write. Finding out someone you’re close to has cancer is never easy, but even more do when it’s the man you’re in love with.

Alexis and Lane are best friends, and they’ve both been in love with the other for a very long time. When Lane receives the devastating news, it pushes them to admit their true feelings for each other.

A story of love and friendship, grief and strength.

WOW – this absolutely through me for a loop. I had no idea what this was about and was thrown into this heart wrenching story. It was so beautifully written. I fell for Lane, Alexis and Braydon from the start. The friendship they share tugs at your heart for so many different reasons. You feel everything they share – from the laughs to the pain to the amazing love!

I really was not sure how this read was going to go and was surprised on how sexy model, Lane Sheridian's story totally grabbed my heart. This was not just another love story and the details the book entailed were not an easy read especially when it came to his course of health. I felt broken as well as the pain and sadness he was going through...mentally and physically.

The type of love that you're afraid to tell someone about because if they don't feel the same way your entire world would be over...love. I'm Lane Sheridian...I'm not afraid of too many things but this just terrifies me.

The supporting characters: Alexis Grant (his manager) and Braydon Simms (musician) are good people I would want in my life. The three of them are best of friends that would do everything and anything for one another. They were the perfect touch in Lane's journey when finding out he has the "c'" word.

Although it felt slightly rushed on how everything was progressing the author wrote it where it works. The chills and goosebumps from the characters perspectives felt spot on and I cannot help feeling torn. The start of this series started off with a bang and will continue to leave you with that high after that cliffhanger you are left with and are just itching to know what happens next. ~Cristina, ★★★★✩ 4.5 stars

This is my 1st time reading M Dauphin and I'm so happy to find her! I absolutely LOVED For Now!!! This book from page one drew me in and I couldn't put it down!

Lane is every women's dreams! A hot, sexy male model!!! Yum! Then there's Alexis....she's his best friend. The two of them both love each other but never have spoken or acted on their feelings!

They endure so much in this story and it so sweet to watch their love unfold. The third main character is Braydon. He is probably my fav cuz he's kinda the 3rd wheel and he's super cocky, sexy & totally single!

The three of them have such a strong friendship and I envy what they have and how they lean on one another through all life throws at them!

Warning the ending has a major cliff hanger but I all I have to say is it leaves me wanting more and ready to dive into For Her ASAP!!!

I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone! ~Stacey, ★★★★★ 5 stars

When I picked up For Now I had no idea what to expect, as being honest M. Dauphin is a new author to me and I was quite excited to be reading her work. I honestly loved how she managed to describe and create the characters and the way that the whole story went was honestly shocking. Being honest this book actually reached out to me quite a bit because I know what it’s like to experience a loved one going through something serve like Cancer so the fact that M.Dauphin captured it in a way that it would touch the readers was honestly really creative.

The way that this book is written it grips you and makes you want to read more into what’s going on. I love how Alexis is the strong one and isn’t willing to let her emotions get the better of her, the fact that her best friend/love of her life is going through something so severe and that she isn’t willing to let him go through it alone amazes me. I understand that she was quite angry and upset that Lane didn’t say anything to her about what’s happening because if you was in her position and something like that happened you would be pretty upset about it, so I completely feel and understand how she is in the book. However I still feel that Lane should have told his Alexis about what he was going through as even though she works with him, he should know that she will always be there for him no matter what the case is. All throughout the book I thought that both Alexis and Lane made such an amazing team and they were both strong even when Lane was at his worst. I was happy to see that even though they had both loved each other way more than they both thought for a long time that they managed to express their love for each other and chose to be together even though that there was the possible fact that Lane may not have lived for long. However I do admire the work that M.Dauphin has put into this book and I know for a fact that I will be reading many more of her work. I have to say that it touched a place in my heart that I honestly didn’t expect, however I would love to reveal if Lane ended up beating the cancer or if he didn’t but seriously where would the fun be in that. I suggest that if you want to know then pick it up and give it a read because it’s just that good.

For Now (Broken Promises Series) by M. Dauphin is a novella length story that packs quite a punch about three friends dealing with tragedy. M. Dauphin is a new author for me and it is always hard to review a short story because of the fact that you only get such a small taste of the writer’s personality. Although the length might not be there the personality of the author is. I have to say I really enjoyed and appreciated her writing style. For Now was exceedingly poignant because the hardship involved is so heartbreakingly familiar that many people will easily be able to relate to it. When dealing with a novella length book, reviewing without giving anything away is troublesome but you can expect to find happiness, sadness, heartbreak, friendship, and love. For Now affected me deeply because the tragedy involved has damaged my own family making this a hard read for me, being that it is still a new and sore subject, but the book itself is still a 4 star read for me. It does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared to want the next book because this is one of those ‘suck you in and refuse to let go’ kind of books. I thought being a novella I could start it and read while I was cooking dinner. Nope, don’t even try it, dinner got burnt because I could not look away from this book long enough to pay attention. This book, perhaps because of its length, hits the ground running and pulls you in from the start. I received an ARC for an HONEST review.

I was pulled right into this short story. This is a 3 part story so be prepared to get all 3 parts. The story has laughs, pain, sadness, and heartbreak.

This is Lane’s story. Lane is a model and has worked hard to get where he is. His best friends are both very close with him. Braydon lives next door to him. Alexis keeps his life running smooth. But lately he has started to see her in a different light. But when he gets news he never expected he knows he needs to tell her how he feels. With the love of his best friends he goes though some difficult times. Just when things might start looking better there is an accident. What is going to happen with Lane, Braydon, and Alexis now? This book does end on a cliffy so look for the next book out in this series.

I loved these characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

OMG!!! Woman you have left me a completely worthless sobbing mess! Words cannot express how much I FLOVED this story. There is so much going on in this story. You have the awesomeness that is the friendship between Lane, Alexis, and Braydon. There is also the work relationship between Lane and Alexis. Then you have the budding relationship between Lane and Alexis. Somehow you would think that at some point you would get lost with what is going on. But this story flows effortlessly. The detail and description are phenomenal. I loved the way she captured Lane’s inner turmoil at his situation. This book was emotional from the first word and has all the “feels” that I love in an epic story. The cliffhanger is a doozy and left me speechless and in tears. These characters will leave their imprint on your soul.

4.5 beautifully broken stars.

For Now is a sensational, heart breaking read that thoroughly gripped me while breaking my heart.
Lane and Al are beautiful. A couple so strong, so stunning. Forged from the greatest friendship they move their relationship on while dealing with tragic, heartbreaking problems but blossom into a strong, sexy couple. Their love and passion blazes through the story and there are some insanely hot, sensual moments.
And just when I think my heart is going to be able to be put back together. Bam! That ending......

An emotional roller-coaster!

Best friends Alexis, Lane and Braydon have a bond they envision will last until they are old and grey. When Lane gets news that makes him face mortality, and his love for Alexis.

The blooming relationship between two best friends, Alexis and Lane, is written in a way that you can almost reach out and touch it.

As quickly as this story begins it ends...leaving you wanting, no NEEDING more. A very quick read that kept me entranced!!

For Now, stole my heart from the second it began. I was hesitant to read considering we all have a person or even ourselves who struggle with some sort of debilitating disease. M. Dauphin’s ability to tap into the human psyche given the topic is spot on. The raw emotions of each character are unique and tragic in the same breath. The power of love and support which each character endures shines through her words. Highly recommended read.
