A Good Starter Book for Beginners in the Linux Environment.

I would like to give this a 5 start but I only give 5 stars to things I really like and only if they change something with me.

This book delivers as it is marketed, if you know nothing about Linux and would like to have an introduction to it in a clean and simple manner then this book does justice.

I really liked the clean topic and sub-topic format in this book which gave me time to take a break after each topic.

Even though the book is a bit outdated, the data still holds up today regarding the explanations and the basic Linux concepts to get started.

Would definitely like to have more things included, but there are a lot of other books for that so no complaints here.

As the title says, this book is the ultimate guide for anyone who wants to learn about Linux for the first time. This book will give you an idea of what an open source software is and teach some of the must-knows. Most importantly, if you have no idea about the installation process, you don't have to worry about that either. This book will show you how to do the installation as well. (It is outdated, but you'll get the idea as nothing has changed drastically). If you mange to read all the to the end of this book, you'll be able to grasp the knowledge of different Linux distributions, Linux shell, Root access, why capitalization matters, why you should use Linux and some Linux commands too.
