Noah verbringt die Sommerferien mit seinen Eltern in den USA, am Eufaula-See in Oklahoma. Hier gibt es nichts außer bissigen Schnappschildkröten, Fischen und sehr viel Wald. C'est un livre pour enfants, en allemand.
Encore une fois, voilà confirmé qu’un livre pour enfants n’est pas nécessairement la lecture adaptée quand on ne maîtrise pas la langue du livre.
Ici, c’est sur le vocabulaire que je pèche : quelques mots simples pour un enfant mais trop spécifiques pour moi ! Sans les illustrations j’aurais sans doute buté sur plusieurs paragraphes.
Par ailleurs, l’histoire… bon ben c’est une histoire pour enfants pas très réussie. Assez creuse, avec du suspens maladroit, des retournements improbables. Je ne crois pas que j’aurais aimé ce livre enfant, encore moins pré-ado. Ce livre fait partie d’une série éditée pour promouvoir la lecture auprès des primaires/collèges (niveau CM2-6ème). Je n’ai pas le sentiment que ce soit la bonne méthode pour cela, ou du moins le bon type de livre. Je ne sais pas, ça fait quelques temps que je ne suis plus pré-ado, mais j’ai des souvenirs d’histoires plus palpitantes que celle-ci.

I read this book to practice a little German, and I’m happy to say that I understood it and that I also enjoyed it. It’s a children's book, so the story is easy to follow, even if your level is not very high. But be aware, the vocabulary is not very common for a learner, so you may find it a bit tricky.

With the premise of the eleven-year-old who doesn’t want to leave the city for the holidays, we face a tender and simple story, with the themes of family, friendship, and the adaptation to a new space. The emphasis of the novel is on the relationships that the protagonist builds with people around him and how this affects his evolving as a charter. You may find him tiresome at the beginning, but I promise, you will end up liking him!

So if you, like me, are learning the language, give this book a chance!

War eine ganz niedliche Geschichte. Ein bisschen einfach vielleicht, aber trotzdem ganz solide und schön zu lesen war es auch.
