Originally published in the 2012 anthology Love is Murder.

A picture perfect, beachfront wedding in Hawaii is shattered when a deranged, gun-wielding man bursts into the chapel, taking the bride and her young son hostage. The maid-of-honor, Claire Hedgleigh, Forensic Instincts' resident psychic, stays behind to help her best friend. In a twist of fate, FBI agents Sloane Burbank and Derek Parker are honeymooning at the same hotel, and take charge of the hostage negotiations while law enforcement is en route.

Sloane, Derek, and Claire are in a race against time as a brittle personality with nothing to lose stands in the way of happily-ever-after for all.

Coming in March 2019 from Andrea Kane: DEAD IN A WEEK.

Andrea Kane is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of twenty-nine novels, including fifteen psychological thrillers and fourteen historical romantic suspense titles. With her signature style, Kane creates unforgettable characters and confronts them with life-threatening danger. As a master of suspense, she weaves them into exciting, carefully-researched stories, pushing them to the edge—and keeping her readers up all night.

Kane’s first contemporary suspense thriller, Run for Your Life, became an instant New York Times bestseller. She followed with a string of bestselling psychological thrillers including No Way Out, Twisted, and Drawn in Blood.

Her latest in the highly successful Forensic Instincts series, Dead in a Week, adds the Zermatt Group into the mix—a covert team of former military and spy agency operatives. With a week to save a young woman from ruthless kidnappers, this globe-spanning chase, from the beerhalls of Germany, to the tech gardens of California, to the skyscrapers of China, and finally the farmlands of Croatia will keep readers guessing until the very end. The first showcase of Forensic Instincts’ talents came with the New York Times bestseller, The Girl Who Disappeared Twice, followed by The Line Between Here and Gone, The Stranger You Know, The Silence that Speaks, The Murder That Never Was, and A Face to Die For.

Kane’s beloved historical romantic suspense novels include My Heart’s Desire, Samantha, Echoes in the Mist, and Wishes in the Wind.

With a worldwide following of passionate readers, her books have been published in more than twenty languages.

Kane lives in New Jersey with her husband and family. She’s an avid crossword puzzle solver and a diehard Yankees fan. Otherwise, she’s either writing or playing with her Pomeranian, Mischief, who does his best to keep her from writing.

A quick read about the wedding from hell. I liked how Claire try to protect her friends and how the FBI helped save the day.

This book has no ties to the series, it's just a very short, quick, but good read, introducing you to Claire, FI's new physic and a newly married couple from another of Andrea Kane's series-which I intend to read.

Short novella. It was alright. Might be better for fans of the Burbank and Parker series than Forensic Instincts. Claire makes a tiny appearance as a bridesmaid. I haven't read Burbank and Parker so this was of little interest. The plot was alright, straightforward crime that was pretty predictable. 2 stars.

This was a very short story about a wedding about to take place, when the ex bursts in and holds the bride and their son hostage along with the maid of honor - who refused to leave. Vacationing on the beach happens to be two FBI agents, one an expert in hostage negotiations. This was a quick read that was packed full with lots of suspense.

Super short and I must admit I don't remember the characters from Ms Kane's previous books. It's been awhile since I've read any of them and I enjoyed her earlier Historicals than her Suspenses.

Super short, super suspenseful wedding hostage crisis that terrifies you enough to read it fast! This gives you a taste of Andrea Kane's excellent skills as a romantic suspense author! I've enjoyed all her books & can't wait till she writes more!

So, there was nothing wrong with the writing or anything, just not sure at all what the point of this story was.

Short and Easy Read

This story was a rewrite from a multi- author book from a few years ago. The story introduced Claire from the Forensics Institute series. Claire was attending a wedding as maid of honor when a gunman walked in and detained the bride and her son. Two FBI agents were vacationing in the same hotel. The surprise would come in the form of the bikini clad agent...
