“This saved my life. My marriage. It took my professional career to a whole new level…” —Khaled Elmasri, San Francisco
Consider yourself a camera sitting atop a tripod in the middle of a massive room. Your perspective is contained to a very limited viewpoint. The room itself is full of wonder, awe-inspiring potential, and unlimited possibility, but you have become fixed to a stationary position. Through that small window of a camera lens, you have created a story and a conviction that this angle of the room is the only angle that exists.
Unless someone were to move the tripod.
Then the story would change.
A brand new vantage point would become accessible.
Illumination would grow where only darkness and ignorance lived before.
And that’s the beginning of how it all changes.
With this book, I intend to help you move your tripod…
“I’ve been trying to the find the words to describe the impact this book has had on me and my family. Truth is, I don’t have them. When I look at my life a year ago and where I am today, it’s practically unrecognizable…” —Marisa Malts, Philadelphia
“When I read this, I feel that I’m opening a door in my mind that I didn’t know existed…” —Joanna Nassif, Toronto
A brilliant book, very easy to read and kept the message very simple
I have been following Brian and Carrie Live on Facebook and like their concept for simple mindset training:
1) Count your wins 2) Imagination theatre 3) Intention / Direction review 4) Silence 5) Next day preparation 6) Triggers
Since this book they have developed a new core principle of learn your language to understand your own beliefs and the language you use inside your head / to talk to yourself
This was such a good book to read and very say to understand. I could and will read it over and over again. I've just started my mindset journey and this has gave me more understanding
I love how well this book was broken up. I struggle sometimes with really long chapters. This book didn’t have those. What I loved most was how individualized his ideas are. Find what works best for YOU.
I Really enjoyed the explanations behind why we think and behave the way we do. The author has a way of explaining often difficult concepts, with effortless ease. A pleasure to read and learn from
There were a few useful ideas in this book, but (like many self-help books) a large part of the content felt like an advertisement for itself. Many times, I felt like saying 'Look, I'm already reading your book - please stop trying to sell it to me and tell me what your ideas actually are.' I like the central idea of the 'six pack', which is similar to but not the same as the 'Miracle Morning' - it overlaps it to an extent as three of the six things are part of the miracle morning, and three are to be done at night (which I am now doing, and which do make a difference). It is helping, but the six pack concept could have been conveyed far more quickly and with much less padding of 'what I'm about to tell (honestly, I will tell you soon) is a really good idea which has changed lives'. I'd rather have the ideas up front and testimonials after to read if you want them - I resent the hard sell, with the ideas buried in the middle of the book (if you can't tell from these comments!!)
Smart sparkling little book, but I couldn't get too much attached to it. One reason is that the book eventually ascends to the main topic from about part 12. And some in the methodology part sounds a bit cliché to me, as they have already been somehow homogenised or introduced before, yet might be helpful for those who are new to the ideas.
One thing worth mentioning is the idea of setting triggers like what I did for my exams to remember where I should start to proof something, which enlightens me to apply it in daily life.
In general, the concepts in the book are open and refreshing. Peeling off what have been attached from the past and staying an open attitude and horizon are what I reflected in general, but sometimes still need to take the words in the book with a pinch of salt. And these could only be examined if I would not be in my days.
A Simple but powerful book on how to get out of your own way
I haven't met one person who hasn't had one form of struggle or another. Me included. I have been in that place where I have had mentors and coaches, taken all their great advice and it hasn't worked. But instead of looking to blame, I realised one thing. I was the constant, it was my mindset at fault.
This book is the missing ingredient in realising why you have not reached your full potential in becoming successful. It resonated with me because I had been there and struggled. Now I know why.
A very easy read, this book is laced with information guaranteed to allow you to look at yourself and see why you haven't become the person you want to be. Not only that it provides 6 tasks, which performed daily will help you finally have the life you wanted. Thanks Brian, sawubona
