When Mauriana’s village in Germania is attacked and Thor’s holy oak is felled by a monk, Mauriana is sure everything she loves will be destroyed—including her family.
Trusting the word of a jarl who offers to take her to safety, she braves the North Sea, hoping to start a new life in Norway.
From the moment Mauriana steps onto the longship Ivar is serving on, he feels an instant connection with her. Sworn to protect his kinsman, it doesn’t mean he can’t look after her, too.
For he’s never known his cousin to keep his word.
(this novella was part of the SIRENS OF THE NORTHERN SEAS collection published January 2016 and is now being published as a stand-alone)
Will Ivar choose bloodties over fate? Or will he risk everything to defend Mauriana and win her love?
Raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, Violetta Rand spent her childhood reading, writing, and playing soccer. This was just O.K. for me. Ivar who is the hero was a good character, but it takes you four chapters to realize who the hero is, too long. Mauriana did not captivate my attention very much. These characters had potential, but they weren't developed well. This time I did not feel their supposed chemistry. I wanted to.
Oh I absolutely just loved this story. Mauriana and Ivar were strong characters. I just loved the storyline and characters in this. I’m so excited to read more of Violetta’s Viking Stories. I certainly wanted more so on with the next one. 🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊
