Dick

Rate this book
The day I met Dick I instantly knew four things. One, he was as handsome of a man as I had ever seen. Two, he was filthy rich. Three, he was a dick. And four, he was *ahem* gifted.

In time I learned much more about him.

Things that would have made most women run away.

But I’m not most women. So, instead of running away, I ran in his direction.

Dick didn’t have a place for a woman in his life. He was a bad boy. Not a wannabe bad boy that tried to act the part. Oh no, he was the real deal. Money. Guns. Fast cars. Cops always one step behind him…

On our first date, while in his Ferrari, we got into a high-speed chase with the police.

That was only the beginning.

From there, things only got better.

Or worse.

I guess that depends on who you are, and what you’re afraid of.

Me? I wasn’t afraid of Dick, his manner of living life, or his dickish ways.

I wanted him to be mine.

But, with a man like Dick, things are never easy.

My name’s Jess.

This story’s mine - although I’ll never admit to it in a court of law.

DICK is a stand-alone full-length novel with an HEA and no cheating. Due to the adult content, please be 18 years or older to enjoy this read.

Ever read a book with an asshole hero that is a criminal? Ever absolutely LOVED said criminal asshole?

Welcome to Dick.

WOW!!

On her way to work, and five minutes late, all Jess wanted to do was get into her parking spot.

In front of her, two men are parked, blocking her entrance. Stuck in the alley, she is forced to listen to their argument. One threatens to kidnap the other's wife and sell her to the drug cartel if he doesn't pay his 'debt'

She is intrigued, scared, and quite turned on by the handsome man who makes this threat. Watching from afar, she leans against her horn, and it honks.

The man walks up to her car, tells her to get out, and upon seeing her, hands her a business card with one word on it - "DICK" (and his phone number).

So beings the story of "DICK".

From that instant, this book takes off and goes 160 miles and hour non-stop. A one-night stand turns into a fucking disaster. Car chases, anal sex, drugs, guns, a crazy sexy 69, a pet leopard, running from the cops in a Ferrari, more sex, mysterious men, cops, two in the pink and one in the stink, a diamond heist, more sex, and an HEA.

Holy hell.

This book was the best thing ever. Sex at about 18%, and not just sex, but SEX. The 'get me some water, I think need to put out a FIRE' sex. I laughed until I peed, I cried, I laughed again, I got mad, I flipped pages, and then there was another fucking crooked cop. Shit. High-speed chase, an all you can eat 69-position with man on top that ends happily, but wait here comes the HEA.

Bam!

And I looked around and said WOW.

My hopes when I read a book.

A great plot.
uhhm. CHECK.

A great hero.
Double (he's HUNG) check.

Heroine who doesn't whine (this is one funny bad-ass bitch)
CHEEECK.

Well-written sex.
Holy Checking hell

And, it needs to keep my interest at all times.
Can you say reading in the bathroom, while feeding the baby in the airport and on the plane? Non-stop?

Without a doubt, Hildreth's best work .Not just good. Not even great.

It's the one book that this prick has written that you'll just have to read.

And you'll immediately read it again.

From a one-night stand to an HEA at 160 mph, all with a guy who is a complete fucking asshole.

I've never cheered for an asshole in my life, but couldn't help but cheer for this guy. The 'standing up and screaming at my Kindle' type of cheering.

If there ever was a "Must read" book written, this motherfucker's it.

Entertaining.

Likable characters.

Funny dialogues.

Sex scenes.

Fast paced page turning storyline.

If that's what you seek, and you are familiar with Mr. Hildreth's "in your face" and "to the point" writing style, then read this book.

If not, dont.

Well this was an interesting read. I felt parts of it were a bit cheesy, but I just couldn't stop reading. The prologue gets you from the start and you have to keep reading to find out what happens.

Dick is ten inches of dick and more. He's a criminal, but I can't say that I dislike that part of him. He actually steals from people he feels are the real criminals, like drug dealers or rich assholes and gives the money to those who are in true need of it. He's your modern day Robin Hood.

"My current occupation - by definition - was a combination of a criminal and a vigilante of sorts, but I liked to call myself an entrepreneur. It just sounded better."

Jess is a waitress who lives from one paycheck to the next. She meets Dick one day when he blocks the entrance to the parking lot making her late for work. Once he finishes his business he walks up to her car to flex some muscle, but instead he's the one that is taken back when he meets Jess. She's not afraid to speak her mind and is a bit bitchy.

"Will you be my partner?"

Dick just plans on sleeping with her and then never seeing her again. He doesn't trust people easily, but of course that's not how things go. Before I knew it, they were in a high speed chase running from the cops, planning a diamond heist and screwing in the Target parking lot together.

"Love is when someone steps into your life, and instead of complicating it, they complete it."

This was a quick fun and smutty read at times and my first by this author. I enjoyed the dual POVs and the humor from each of the characters. I'd definitely read something else by this author.

4 "10 Inches" STARS

”Welcome to my life,” he said. I didn’t know if he meant it to be a formal invitation, but I took it as one. And, I was ready.”

How I love Kindle Unlimited, it gifts me the opportunity to try out new authors and sample their wares to my heart’s content. This is my first book by this author and I had such a good time reading it. There is a full story here it’s not endless pages of sex scenes as there is a full plot. The heroine falls for a Robin Hood type criminal whose actual name is Dick and willingly becomes part of a big diamond heist.

”My current occupation – by definition- was a combination of a criminal and a vigilante of sorts, but I liked to call myself an entrepreneur. It just sounded better.”

description

The author gifts dual POVs throughout the book and some of their conversations were terrific.

”I had no idea. I’ve always acted like that because I thought it’d keep people away, not attract them.”
“So it’s an act?” she huffed. “You’re not really like that?”
“No, I’m pretty much just like that. It’s pretty hard for me to be otherwise, but I can be polite if I need to be. I never knew anyone liked it, though. I think you’re the first.”
“Well,” she said. “Most girls probably don’t dig it, but I do. I love guys who are dicks. If a guy can talk a mad line of shit to me, he’ll win my heart quicker than a guy with flowers.”
“No shit?”

description

Dick at first had thought one night stand situation with Jessica would suit his attraction but getting to know her only fuels him to be around her more and slowly she’s part of his criminal activity. I found her to be a very entertaining heroine and her attraction to Dick’s ten inch appendage downright hilarious.

description

”So, you say my pussy is yours. Is your cock mine?”
“No.”
“Really?” She dragged the two syllables along for two long seconds. “Why not?”
“I don’t know. Guys don’t do that that shit. They don’t say this cock is yours. And girls don’t say shit like whose cock’s in me or whatever.”
“I want that big fucker to be mine.”
“Why?”
She shrugged. “So I can say it’s mine.”
“Who would you tell?”
She acted like she really thought about it for a while. “Nobody, I guess. Just myself.”
“So it’d be your cock, but you’d just keep it hush hush?”
“Sure.”
“Okay, take it. It’s yours.”
She sat up in her seat. “Really?”
“Yep. It’s yours, claim it.”

Jessica doesn’t make any money at her job and with her appreciation of Dick’s attitude and allure of his crimes she’s all in on this big diamond heist. This plays out with humor and smarts while the two fall in love with one another and the story overall was very entertaining. The sex scenes were hot at times and then crude at others. Though it's going to be up a reader to decide if they find the humor funny but it's free on KU so there you go!

BWHAHAHAHA!!!!
LMAO—yes that is what I am doing right now, I am shaking my crazy head in DISBELIEF!!!! I can honestly tell you that if you had asked me what I would have rated this book 22 hours ago I would have said 2, maybe 3 stars because I honestly HATED it, yes I said HATED it. I am not a person who likes, in your face, rude shit, I just DON’T. I do not want to be around it at all. I believe EVERYONE is allowed their opinion; on that same note, I get to pick and choose what I will take in and what I won’t. And the first 40%ish of this book was made up of situations and scenes that I try and avoid in my life. I even talked to a non-book friend on the phone and tried explaining the strong emotions I was having over this book. As you can image she did not understand my deep hatred for this character and had more faith, then me, that the author could change my mind. I almost for the first time ever was going to DNF, a book. Thank goodness that my OCD of HAVING to know how stuff fits together won out, because this book shocked the hell out of me….

Who would of thought that I would warm up to these characters, considering how much I argued with them during this story? Seriously, I know I have said before that I talk to the characters as I read, but this story was that times 10. — Let’s start with HIM, yes him…. (LMAO- I so wanted Hildreth to give this guy another name, by the end of this book, I was drumming my fingers on the table waiting for it, but it never came, do not get me started on 10 inches….. ). The below picture will give you a small glimpse into this character. Bwhahahahaha

*shaking my head* Yes that is all I am giving you, you MUST read this book to draw your on conclusions.

On to Jess, WOW, she was a character that had courage coming out of her fingertips and knew what she wanted. She brought such warmth to the story in that she loved unconditionally. At first I thought she was a push over but as the story progressed it became apparent that her strength was in what she loved and that love was real.
She loved her man, plain and simple and he LOVED her!!! See below….

This novel was full of emotion for me, and that is why I dig Scott Hildreth’s books, I do not always like what his characters do, but so what, that is life, take what we want and leaving the rest. What impressed me most in this particular book was that just when I was about to give up on the story because I did not think it had anything I would enjoy, this hilarious couple began to laugh at themselves and I was able to relate to them. I was able to see all that made them who they were and not just what they did. Laughter in any form, for me is what makes life worth living and this story was filled to the brim, even though I saw most of it in reverse. This couple worked because they did not need the other to change so they themselves could be ok, they each made changes so their partner in crime could be whoever they needed to be, that is LOVE.
WELL DONE Mr. Hildreth. That is it, that is all I got…..

His name is Dick, he was a d**k for some of the book, and he had a big....Well, you get the picture. He also was a criminal, but yet a good guy. He robbed drug dealers and bad guys and rich people who got away with committing crimes. And then like a modern day Robin Hood, he gave to the needy, or people who had been wronged. And then he met Jess, the girl who captured his heart and made him believe in love. The one person he knew he could trust.

This book was a lot of fun! I was worried that I wouldn't like Dick because at the beginning of the story he said some awful things and I was wondering 'how am I supposed to like this guy?' But gradually he grew on me, and proved that he did have a heart when he fell for kindred spirit Jess. And oh yeah, they were hot together. I'll never look at Target the same way...

With just a little more backstory about Dick and especially Jess, this would've been a 5 star read. Instead its a solid 4--4 1/2 stars.

This was such a good book! I give this a 4.5 star rating

Reading this just reminded me of how good the author is writing books, erotic books at that! I love Scott Hildreth's writing so much, and this was a great book. It was funny yet fast-paced and damn right sexy.

The characters were amazing! I loved Dick and Jess together. Dick was a dick and Jess matched his personality perfectly. Dick was a dick and his dick was amazing. Period. A great combination! Hopefully that sounds right. Haha! Jess was a great character because she was an independent woman and it was really fun and pleasurable to read about her. Each character throughout the book was written perfectly. I say they are written perfectly because their personalities go with the story at hand very well.

The plot was well written and well thought out. I love the criminal/alpha male type plot so this was amazing to me! Even though Dick was a dick he was still a great character, and his character went so well with the story.

The only reason I gave this book a 4.5 rating was because there was just little things that I thought could have been written better. I'm not saying the book was bad because it was amazing, but little pet peeves of mine were met in this book. Am I going to stress about these little pet peeves of mine? Nah! There's no need to! The book was a wonderfully written book.

A 4.5 star rating.

4.5 Don't f*ck with me Stars!

So when you read Scott Hildreth books, you never know what to expect. The words and emotions that pop out of this man's head could fill a lifetime of stories. If you are a fan, at all, of any of his previous works, you will need to read this book. It is everything he promised and more!

I read this through in one sitting. Could not wait to see what adventures Jess and Dick got up to. If you loved Mike Ripton.... If you swooned over Biscuit.... You will freakin' fall for Dick! But even better than the attitude and swagga' Dick has, is the sassy flair that Jess brings to the story. These two could not be more perfectly matched. Jess stands up for herself in all things except when it comes to Dick. She likes it a LOT when he gets all bossy and in her face. (cue the ice chips!)

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book other than Dick can be an a$$ when he is on his best behavior much less his worst. You will want to grab this one up because the story behind the character is so unique and well thought out. No spoilers at this point because there are some twists to the plot. Just know that it it gives you a bit of everything: humor, action, s3x, romance and an HEA.

Go ahead, jump on in and get yourself some Dick! What a fun, quick read! Enjoy!

5 Stars…

Quote…"Ready?"
"Every time you ask me that, something crazy happens," I said.
"Welcome to my life."
I didn't know if he meant it to be a formal invitation, but I took it as one.
And, I was
ready.

What I loved:
- There were times when I was reading this that I snort-laughed out loud. A lot of those times. Jess, especially, was hilarious. Her internal dialogue and the way she processed information and situations was funny as fuck.
Quote… Working for a living sucked big fat dicks. Deep within me, a little rich girl resided, all I lacked was the resources.

Quote… Working for a living sucked big fat dicks. Deep within me, a little rich girl resided, all I lacked was the resources.

And this little ripper...
Quote… Fuck you and your cinnamon house.

My new favourite phrase. Thank you, Scott Hildreth!
- Dick really is a dick. Like, he doesn't change - it isn't an act - it isn't a defense mechanism. He is just that much of an asshole. But he's also protective, and a little bit of a sweetheart. I thought that was delicious!
Quote… Dick pulled out his gun. "If those motherfuckers hit you or my cat..."

Speaking of the cat - I loved everything about him being attacked by it. Men with pets are hot. And when that pet is a leopard? Well, shit.
- And what I really loved about this book was that SH put into words the good asshole vs. bad asshole dilemma. Jess & Dick's relationship, and her attraction to him, was so eloquently thought out. It wasn't borderline abusive, I wasn't side-eying them like bro, this is super unhealthy. It was fantastic.
- SH's characters are always rich, complex, and real. These ones are no exception.
- This one had a lot of mystery, drama and intrigue. I was forming opinions from the first page, and frantically devouring chapters trying to out-think Dick & Jess. I really should have had more faith in SH... he created this whole story world brilliantly. And I was hooked from the beginning, because of the mystery, the humour, the intrigue, the hotness that is Dick, and the way Jess delivered lines like this out of the blue...
Quote…As he slid out of the booth, his biceps flared through his shirt. "Bring me my tab."
God damn, you're sexy.
(...)There were a few things I didn't have any business doing.
One of them was drinking tequila.
The other was being in the presence of a criminal.
But only one was a stipulation of my probation.

- The epilogue is more than I could have ever wished for. I was highfiving myself at 1 in the morning (quietly, because I already woke him up twice with my snort-laughing), so deliriously happy with how things turned out for these two. Gah. Just... spectacular.

What I didn’t love:
description
- The cover model isn't my type. He looks like JT or some kid my brother picked on at school. Neither of those things are my thing. I read somewhere that a cover with a man's body and no face is more appealing... clearly us women are a shallow lot :) But I can see the appeal now, and it's something I'd never noticed before. Anyway, my copy was part of the Fuck Books collection, so I didn't see that model until I came to write my review just now.
Overall…
Hard, BRAWLER and this one have my heart. Let the SH binge read continue!

An amazing fun read!

I fell in love with both characters. Dick was an absolute dickhead and I loved him for it!
Jess is a fun smart mouth girl I loved right from the beginning! Together these two were crazy, sexy, adventurous and oh so much fun to read about.

Jess finds herself attracted to the demanding confident, cocky Dick who is every bit of his namesake. But there is something about him that makes her want to know him better so she agree to have dinner. One night that’s what they agreed to! That one night she becomes entangled in a world of car chases, diamond thief's and drug dealers. Add her witty smart mouth to his dick-ish charm and swagga I found myself eating up every word of the story! The chemistry between them are off the charts and full of drama!

Scott’s book are always an auto-read for me so I never read the description, blurbs or anything before diving into is books. WELL!!! What an adventure this story took me on! This has definitely left me with a Scott Hildreth hangover.

3.5 "Ready Stars"

This was the first time I read Scott Hildreth. While I liked the story I felt as if I were reading an action movie; one I've already seen. More like a mash up of actions movies, think Snatch, Pulp Fiction, Anna Nicole Smith (or at least how she got her fortune).

Oh yeah and don't forget

Es una historia fabulosamente divertida sobre unos tarados que no podían ser más imperfectamente perfectos juntos.
description

En mi vida leí sobre dos personajes tan, pero tan locos que no podían ser tan perfectamente tal para cual.

Llegué a ROGAR que sus fechorías salieran bien para que pudieran escapar.
description

Literalmente, estaban locamente enamorados.

Dick, our hero, is cocky, talented, driven, and fully endowed in all the right places! When he meets Jess, he sees a "smoking hot one stop shop" for fun and excitement. The two spend one night together, and the delicious combination of the quick-witted banter and physical attraction that exists between the two is like fire and gasoline! "I had every intention of fucking Dick so good, so hard, and with such crazed passion that he'd have no choice but to make me his significant other. His favorite piece of ass, his main bitch..."
Told in dual POV, Dick is like watching a blockbuster movie unfold before your eyes. The well-crafted dialogue and absurd situations made this read a sheer delight. The characters were well matched both emotionally and physically, and each second these two are together is full of over the top entertainment. (Let's just say a trip to TARGET will never be the same!) I found both Dick and Jess to be very likable characters. Their character traits were extreme and completely uninhibited. There’s nothing better than escaping to a world where anything and everything goes! While enjoying the ride, in true Hildreth style, there was deep meaning embedded in the fun. This unique plot full of energy, mystery, and erotic sexcapades will leave you breathless and wanting more! When it comes to Dick, be ready for a good laugh, happy cry, and get your man (and your car keys) because you will most likely want to hit the TARGET parking lot soon.

Overall, Dick is another Hildreth homerun. If you are looking for fun, action, and steamy sex, look no further! To find joy in the mundane of day to day life is admirable. To find the love that completes you is irreplaceable. Thankfully Dick and Jess find both and I, for one, am thrilled that I was along for the ride. Well done, Mr. Hildreth! I loved this book by Scott Hildreth!!
I liked how Dick and Jessica met, how their lives intertwined and they were able to push things to each of the their satisfaction.
Dick is a hard nosed "business" man that doesn't take crap from anyone.
Jessica is a witty waitress barely making ends meet in a bar.

After she blows her horn at him time and time again he approaches her and she thinks he is a bad ass. Little does Dick know she is into bad asses.
But Dick does the pursuing of Jessica and how it evolves is what keeps you turning the pages.

It's full of hot steamy sex scenes, for mature audiences only and I do mean only!!!
Its a fast, fun read...characters easy to get involved with.
It is a standalone and I think if you want hot sex, hot guy, awesome plot of what happens once you find out all the information you will like it as much as I did.

Highly recommend.

Enter to win One of Two eBook copies of DICK by Scott Hildreth. Giveaway closes 04/16.

If you're looking for some DICK, look no further, because Scott's giving it to you.

I know, us readers are full of innuendos for this book, but put those aside for now and understand this, Scott Hildreth hit it out of the park with DICK. It was 100x different than I thought it would be, filled to the brim with emotions and some insane chemistry between the main characters. There's life lessons, smut, criminal activities, and even a leopard. Yes, a leopard! Dick is handsome, cocky, bossy, a criminal, and has his hands full with his...packages. Jess, our mouthy, sassy, kinky, and sexy female character, has the hots for him the moment she sees him threatening a man's wife if he doesn't pay up. She just wants to get to work, but when she catches Dick's eye everything changes. The minutes long first meet turns into a no pretenses, hot and heavy one night stand, and then another, and another. The more these two interacted, the more I knew it was going to be all or nothing for their relationship. I found myself laughing, a lot, and reading as fast as I could to find out what happened next. Plus, let's talk smut...in the bedroom, parking lot, couch...everywhere! Not only are the main characters awesome, but the supporting characters are a major highlight to the story, from bologna to cinnamon, every character brought a unique presence to this book.

I gazed down at his name and grinned. Dick. How appropriate.

There were a few things I didn't have any business doing. One of them was drinking tequila. The other was being in the presence of a criminal. But only one was a stipulation of my probation.

Besides characters, let's talk plot, because it kicked ass. There's clean money, dirty money, guns, fast cars, bad men, police, and one ginormous diamond. Did I mention the leopard? Jess and Dick shouldn't work out because of Dick's life, but that's what attracts Jess to Dick and thank heavens it does. Their never-ending banter, delicious hooking up, and finally the feelings, are what lead us to the meat of this book. It was paced perfectly, I felt like it never slowed down, and was entertaining from start to finish. The best part about the plot though? The twists. It's more than just two main characters taking a ride on each other, nope, they're taking an adventurous ride together through life. They discover romance in the crazy, turn the bad into good, and find in each other the perfect teammate and lover.

But if there was a heaven on earth, there was no doubt I had found it. And I was ten inches deep in it.

Told from alternating POV's, DICK is a perfect example of Scott Hildreth's writing skills. There's no doubt in my mind that bad boy Dick and mouthy bitch Jess will win you over. Dick is an incredibly entertaining read with everything I look for in a bad boy romance and then some. If you're a fan of criminal activity, steamy scenes, and Scott's wisdom on love and life, look no further.

I'm going to start by saying:

I own 17 books from this author on my kindle. When my reading addiction began in 2013, I read Baby Girl and didn't get it. Though I downloaded the follow up (just to know what happened next) I hadn't gotten to them yet. As my addiction grew and I saw the MC series, fighter series etc being released, I bought them. Curiosity got the best of me. That being said....

Dick is only the SECOND book I've read from this author and I LOVED it. The characters were funny, crazy, raw and oh so entertaining. Dick was just being Dick when Jess crossed his path and Jess wasn't some waify female jaded or damaged and hoping for a knight in shining armor. She was real, independent and all about the fast and shiny.

Dick's life was a complete turn on and she took to it like a natural. This appealed to Dick and they started an adventure that took them on a path they weren't expecting but were willing to see how it went.

This book was definitely fast paced....I found my head spinning at some point as I tried to keep up but it kept me interested from start to finish. I now must make time to get through the other books I have from this author. I no longer fear what to expect and will be devouring them as soon and as fast as I can.

IT. IS. LIVE.! Riding soon, my Kindle is loaded!

Stand-alone.

Blurb:

This book was totally awesome, I laughed my ass off and I swooned too. Dick was a dick but he was also so much more and I absolutely loved him. Jess is a twenty something waitress at a bar and she lives paycheck to paycheck lucky if she has $50 leftover for herself every week. She's mouthy, says what she wants and doesn't take shit from anyone. When she first meets Dick she over hears him threatening a guy who owes him money saying if he doesn't pay him he will burn his house down and sell his wife to the cartel. She can tell he's rich and a bad boy and she's immediately attracted to him. Dick is a criminal but he also has a very generous side to him. He likes that Jess knows what he does and she still likes him anyway and he feels he can trust her. This book was so damn good I can't recommend it enough !

*F*I*V*E* FaBuLoUs StArS!!
What can I say other than, I love me some Dick! The fact that he's packing is a definite bonus!! This book was full of humor, HAWT sex & drama. From the very beginning there was a conversation overheard that included things in the matter of slavery & a Mexican cartel soon to be followed up by a high speed chase in a stolen Ferrari, an illegal casino, stolen diamonds.... LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT!!! I'm wondering how in the hell I haven't discovered author sooner!

Ready?

I better be. As I write this review, in the throes of another Hildreth hangover, I realize I've just experienced a modern tale of greed getting its karma. This story has exotic cars, porn star mustaches, crazy jewel heists, and a man hating leopard. As if that wasn't enough, what more could a girl want? Something she never thought she'd have.... Scott just keeps surprising me with more fairy tales for grownups. Making me believe that anything is possible!

Just, WOW!

This book had it all. True love, steamy sex, great humor, tears, high speed car chases, and horses! Scott Hildreth is a mighty genius. I would read anything he wrote. You should read this book!

You know those books that have dirty or weird titles and end up being hysterical and clever? This isn't one of them. The heroine was just immature and sophomoric. And the hero wasn't so good that he could balance that out. Overall, I was disappointed to say the least.
