Taking Root: A Spiritual Memoir

Rate this book

Wurtele writes beautifully and talks about her spiritual journey and crafts metaphors between it and the seasons of her garden. Coming from an agnostic family that openly ridiculed religion and those who embraced it makes Wurtele's own seeking even more challenging. She studies many mystics and religious thinkers and teaches the reader much about each as they inform her own journey. A good book..with sometimes more about her garden than I wanted, but an honest and interesting journey to follow. I borrowed the book but would like to own it so I could highlight some of the nuggets of wisdom.
