This book was a birthday gift to me by my late good friend, Sarah who passed away in 2005. This book, compiled by The New York Times focused on the questions about New York City itself. As a former resident of New York City, there are tons of things that I wonder why it was like that - this book explained some but not all. It is impossible to explain every thing that are in New York City, the greatest city in the Solar System.
So many cool facts and stories about New York, from its public spaces, to sports related trivia, to famous figures. I recommend not doing what I did, which was essentially reading it front to back, but to take the volume with company present, flip through it, and read out specific stories, any one of which will bedazzle your house visitors!
excellent range of photos from over a 100 year period, featuring a variety of places, people, and events. I must say I'm a little biased towards any with cats or the Chrysler Building.
