After fleeing the authorities after being caught in the midst of a crime, Adrian finds himself plummeted into a world he never thought before existed. A realm of gods and demons and imps, but something even more sinister lurks in this underworld, something far worse and it's calling Adrian's name.
This book is mature and contains many triggers that could be distressing for some readers. Caution is advised. 18+ content.

So it says I've read this three times, but I'm pretty certain it's more – I've estimated because I didn't even know these were on Goodreads in the first place. This is one of those series that continues on and always connects somehow, which is what I love about long series. Another thing I love about long series is that if I love them enough, I'll go back and reread them (not just because another book is being written, but also because I enjoyed the story). This is one such book.
One of the main reasons I love this book and series? The world-building. Where mythologies sit side by side in pantheons of different belief systems and religions, all hailing from what is known as the Source (where everything came from, and where everything will return). Primarily, we sit in the Greek pantheon, where Hades has tasked each of his seven sons to an area of the Underworld to rule – which sets us up for book one perfectly.
Adrian is a human who finds himself falling from his mortal realm into the Underworld, smack-dab in the middle of Inferí, lorded over by Hades' son Malachi. Only problem is, whoever tried to bring Adrian in the Underworld failed to bring him to the right section and now they're pissed and Adrian is in danger. Add some really vicious family history (for both Adrian and Malachi), plus a few family reunions, and you really have a lot on your plate, demigod or not.
As much as I enjoy this series though, I can never find it in myself to give this book a perfect 5/5 rating as I see it more as a book that lays the foundations for future books (even though the storyline had solid plot points and the character development of Adrian was done really well!)
the start of one of my favorite, most beloved series hitherto existing in this universe. hilarious characters, family drama, gay, honesty in touchy subjects, and the exposition for a great world.
Its been a while since I last wrote a review but so far I am on book 23 of The Underworld Chronicles (Reversal of Fortune). Inferi is the start of a whole new series with a combination of different religions and mythology. Adrian whom resided in the mortal world, runs away from his father's abuse, finds love and haven in a section of Hades underworld where Malachi, Hade's sixth son, rules over. They fall in love and kept that love strong even when it was found that Adrian is unknowingly half human/half titain. Malachi protects Adrian as much as he could from the Titans and from his father Hades whom at one point wishes to imprison Adrian in Tartarus. And the drama escalates in the next book with the Titan threat and Malachi's seventh brother Theo.

first line:Run! Faster! They’re going to catch you! My heart beat a vigorous beat in my ears, like the sound of drums, my blood rushing and pumping through my system as I ran through the trees, breathing hard.
plot: Adrian knew his day was going to get worse after the death of his parents, but he didn’t expect it to get this bad.
Let’s summarize: He’s on the run from police, and accidentally slips on some mud and falls body first… and it just so happens to be a portal to the Underworld. But it’s not an Underworld you are expecting; it’s one where every religion is true, so everyone -- everyone -- from greek gods Hades to biblical figures Cain & Abel to demons like Malachi exist.
And Adrian just arrived at their doorstep. Oops?
memorable impression(s): I gotta give a shoutout to my friend Larissa, who encouraged (pressured) me to read this for a while (every day for the past three months) and while I loved her support (her threats), I never got to reading it until now. I really enjoyed it! It has lots of mythological figures -- which I love! yayyy -- and LGBT+ representation, which is really important to me. Can’t wait to dig into the next books in the series!
I didn't like... the graphic themes in the book. Although I understand that was a motivating factor that caused the events in the book, I hated how many times it was repeated. Not saying that it’s something that just goes away, and I don’t want to offend anyone who has dealt with something like this in the past. I just didn’t like the reminders that that popped up randomly in the chapters.
past and future: Never read this author before -- probably because this author isn’t officially print-published, and I read their work -- legally -- off WattPad. It might be a while before I start the next book, but I really want to finish.
last thoughts: I love Dorean. Probably my favorite character. Cute cinnamon roll that must be protected at all costs.
Contrary to popular belief, this is not too much focused on romance, but when it is, the scenes are written so well, I truly applaud the author for that. Especially after having read so many terrible romance novels this year lol. Though this book contains incest, rape, and child abuse, it's done so that it's not a terrible read and you can actually still enjoy it. I absolutely adored this book
I loved the series, I’ve been reading it about 4-5 years ago and i read to book 23. I don’t know how can I read the rest. I can’t find it anywhere, and the author’s website’s shut down too…any help?
I started on this beautiful heartbreaking captivating series and each read was beautiful still is. I was on Wattpad with no particular recs for books so I had to do a search and Voila, stumbled head first over heels and obsessively read all the books up to the point where the updates reached always waiting on that snippet, I will write a review for all 23+ books but not with individual characters I will summarize. Dear Rotty I am absolutely in love with you and your books. I can't quite begin to explain because I'd write a whole book about it believe me. I was a newbie to Greek mythology back in school and was really getting into it when I first read the underworld chronicles and to date you're the sole reason I am strongly a Hades fan. I even call myself such and I Publish with my name - Hades Jay. I miss you on Wattpad but I am glad for this venture on here. Mahn how do I begin to review, I just...Any one that comes across these books. READ. THEM. ALL. *cryingemoji*
I just wanted to say how much I absolutely love the Underworld Chronicles. I’ve been reading it since it first came out, and it’s been such a powerful, unforgettable journey. The characters, the worldbuilding, the raw emotion—you’ve created something truly special that’s stayed with me over the years. I genuinely look forward to every new update, but I’d love even more to see the full story published. Please, if you can, publish the entire series—I would gladly buy every single book. This story deserves to be shared and held in readers’ hands everywhere. Thank you for creating such magic.
I really liked the book. A mythologic setting, great great characters, interest plot. It's just gripping. The only thing that really bothered me was Adrian's character design. It's just way too unrealistic. Not that most protagonists have a tragic past, but you can't just get over something like that so easily. Anyway, great book. Read it ! Now !
The start of an amazing series of books. Heartfelt and heart wrenching. I first read this series on Wattpad years ago and have been keeping up with it ever since. It's truly amazing how proud I can be of a person I've never met. Mature audiences only, all the triggers and warnings you could think of and totally worth all the emotions it invokes.
I loved reading this book. It took me on a journey and showed me a whole different world and different things while still grounding me in reality. It introduced me to many things and it was a truly enjoyable experience. However, it's not really a book I see myself coming back to multiple times.
this book is so easy to visualize for better or for worse, this has always been the book i recommend to people if they don't like reading as it is the book that got me to start.
The first book series I've actually stuck with. It was a great book and I loved the amount of plot twists and the main character finding out more about himself and his family.
