Drawing on the expertise of eight distinguished theologians, this collection of essays offers a unique insight into the many facets of the character of the deacon. The essays are divided into four the diaconate and Scripture, tradition, prayer, and action. It is reasonable to conclude that, to contribute more effectively to the mission of the Church, the diaconate must rediscover and deepen its own particular identity. A thoughtful collection of essays examining the diaconate. It is surprisingly readable given how in depth it can get. Certainly a good starting place to really understand this poorly understood vocation.
