The art really owns it in this series, and in this issue in particular. It ties together the emotion of the characters, the time of the period, gives winking homages all over the place to famous figures and landmark occurrences, and the whole time it's subdued and not in-your-face, while still also being way out there and completely in-your-face. I love stuff like that where it's hard to describe but somehow perfectly sums up the things you never knew were always missing. The story is also wonderful, and I'm completely lost at this point. I feel like somewhere around issue 40, I'll begin to feel like I'm getting some clarity into what the hell is going on. The main characters are told early on in this series that it's not about the destination, it's about the journey, and I definitely feel like that's what happening for the reader as well, and I love it. I can't wait for the next issue!
