Royal Prick by JL Beck is a stepbrother story you don't want to miss. It's a story about two teen step-siblings, Royal and Noelle, who are shaped into the individuals that they are by the demons they battle. Royal is pissed at the world and has a temper and bad attitude to show for it. His mother has had enough of his outbreaks and fighting, and even though she loves him more than anything, she's had enough and sends him off to live with his father and his family. Royal doesn't want anything to do with his dad and his happy little family. He is very angry with his father, who left him and his mother when he was an infant and he makes it a point to let his dad and his family know. What he doesn't expect is that his stepsister is perfection and everything he doesn't deserve. Noelle is innocent, sweet and has a very kind heart. She is nothing like her mother, who is mean to the core and does everything in her power to keep Noelle obedient. Unlike Royal, Noelle can't wait to meet her stepbrother, even though he has this bad reputation. Soon, Noelle finds herself in a world wind of emotions that she's never felt before. One minute she's hating Royal and everything he stands for and the next lusting after him and wondering what it would be like to have him take her. What neither Royal nor Noelle anticipate is the influence they have on each other. Royal wants to be worthy of Noelle and with her he allows his walls to come down, exposing his soft and caring side; controlling his hunger to lash out by not fighting and controlling his anger. Noelle becomes more ruthless, speaking her mind to anyone who dares cross her, bully her or control her. In the past she swallowed her pride and allowed others to walk all over her, but not anymore. Can Royal be everything Noelle needs and deserves? Will Royal and Noelle have their happily ever after?
JL Beck did a beautiful job showing both Noelle and Royal's insecurities, battles within themselves and transformation from who they were to whom they've become. Truths were revealed that explained a lot about the true villain in this story and how actions and decisions affected the lives of Royal and Noelle. Well done JL Beck, great addition to A Stepbrother Romance series.
