Tammy Falkner lives on a farm in a lovely, sprawling little town in rural NC with her beekeeper husband and a house full of boys, a few dogs, and a cat or two (or five – who has time to count?). As half of the Lydia Dare team, she has co-written ten books, including the Westfield Wolves series and the Gentlemen Vampyre series. A huge fan of Regency England, she often wonders what other kinds of magical, mythical and strange creatures might live and interact within the ton. Exploring the theory that the fae can walk between Regency England and their own land, Tammy spends as much time as possible with the lords and ladies of society, horse-drawn carriages, and elegant balls. Now add to that some faeries, a little murder, a bit of mayhem, and a troublesome garden gnome, and you have her exciting new series. She hopes you enjoys her world as much as she does.

What a great continuation of Logan &Emily’s love story.

Emily sacrificed herself and her freedom in order to help her newfound family. It is a sacrifice she is willing to make because of the outcome but it is difficult for her to endure. Emily has to fight the world her father puts before her...a life that she wishes to put behind her. Emily has dyslexia and her father feels like she is stupid and can only be a rich man’s wife but Emily loves her music and she loves Logan even more. They have been separated for three months and Logan has returned to college.

I was more vested in this story as many of the pieces fell into place. Logan and Emily continue to have to overcome obstacles particularly from her world in order to prove to others that they love one another. It is a lovely story and really builds up anticipation for the other Reed Brothers in finding their HEA. I am in it for the long haul...gotta finish the series!

4 I heart Logan stars!

Smart, Sexy, and Secretive leaves off three months after Emily left NY in TTT. It’s been three months since she has seen or spoken too Logan. But now she is back in NYC for good. No one could keep her away from him.
New York is where my heart is. It’s where Logan is.

Logan has been waiting for the day that Emily comes back to him. He appreciates all she’s done, the sacrifices she made for him and his family, but he misses her like crazy. Once he gets her back, he’s never letting her go.

 photo d507a2a2-8380-45a2-b4a4-d7e34d130653_zps915c2623.jpg

Logan and Emily are a sensational couple. I adore them together. Their relationship has obstacles, and not just the hearing impairment/dyslexia. Emily’s father and ex-boyfriend are both big issues. Emily’s father thinks he knows what is best for Emily, and he wants her no where near someone like Logan. He ex is just a giant douchebag. Thankfully, Emily’s mom is able to smooth things over a few times.

I also just loved that Emily learned more sign language. She wanted to be able to communicate better with Logan. The elevator scene with the nurse was pretty funny. And did I mention that I LOVE LOGAN?!?! Because I do!

 photo 812a5a35-1ab4-4c3d-8111-22939caffb1e_zpsc6693dde.jpg

Emily and Logan truly love each other. They are one anothers forever. Thankfully, with all the outside drama going on (and there was a TON of drama) there wasn’t any Logan/Emily drama. They were just focused on dealing with everything- together. I was happy with the closure Emily got with her father and the music. It was good to see. I liked the ending, but it felt a little rushed. I wish we would have gotten more of an epilogue.

My biggest complaint about this story is that it took me less than two hours to read it. I WANTED MORE!!!! It’s such a great NA read. Logan is an amazing guy, and I love Emily too.

Engaging, comical, sweet, sexy, endearing and just an overall great read! Looking forward to the next installment of this series (One of Logan’s brothers). Hopefully we see more of Emily and Logan! A short, steamy and enjoyable series I would recommend!!!

I am loving these guys and this series!

I know right now I will have to end up reading many more of these books. The way the supporting characters are written, you just end up loving them all as much as the two main characters you are reading about. So I want to know how each of the Reed Brothers finds their one true love. Since there are more books than there are brothers, I expect these will go further into friends, cousins and the like. I probably will want to read the entire series if they are as good as these first two books.

This book was every bit as good as book #1. It was a continuation of the story of Logan Reed and his girl Emily. Though at the end of book 1, Emily had gone home to her father in return for her father agreeing to get Logan’s brother Matt a special cancer treatment that was extremely costly. The boys couldn’t afford the treatment and Matt’s life expectancy without it was not good.

This book has her returning to New York to attend Juilliard while Logan attends NYU for Art and Advertising. Though as far as her fathers concerned, Logan is poor and not good enough for her and Juilliard is just a waste of time, since studying music has nothing to do with the real world.

Her father wants her to marry her ex fiancé Trip. They both think she is stupid due to her dyslexia and is unable to learn because she can’t read. Her father thinks the best she can attain is to marry well and Logan doesn’t fit the bill. So though he allows her to move to New York and sets her up in a nice apartment, he has some surprises in store to keep her and Logan apart.

The story is great, the twists and turns are perfect. Some are predictable, but with non-predictable outcomes. Some are completely out of left field and those are the best and sometimes worst kind. But you gotta love them either way. Tammy Falkner is good at giving exactly what I want but enough surprises so that it isn’t the same as other things I have read.

Emily and Logan have true love for each other and stick together which is nice to see. I like the, as a couple and hw they each make their disabilities a non issue. I can’t wait to dive into more of this series.

4.5--I Want My Own Logan--Stars!!!!

Logan, Logan, Logan.....

SSaS picks up three months after TTaT when Emily returned home to her father in exchange for Matt's cancer treatment. Emily has returned to NY and is committed to getting Logan back.

I loved that it didn't take forever for Logan and Emily to get back together. That they were both faithful to each other while they were apart. When they final reunited it was like they were never apart.

Emily's parents are in town....her dad is TROUBLE! I did not like him at all. Emily also has an unexpected visitor trying to come between her and Logan. I also really liked how the author didn't create drama between Logan and Emily but rather had them deal with her dad and the unexpected visitor.

Logan is now taking classes at NYU and Emily is going to Julliard. Logan and Emily are trying to win her dad over. For Logan, he wants him to see how much he loves Emily and how perfect she is for him. For Emily, she just wants him to see her as someone smart and worthy. Not just arm candy for some jerk.

Her first school performance changes everything for Emily. She's able to share her love of music with both her dad and Logan. It was really a beautiful moment. Only to be followed up with....

A big WTF just happened???

Listen Tammy....that was a real shitty thing to do. LOL!

Bottomline, this was a great follow-up to Logan and Emily's story. I would say it had more of a HFN ending versus a HEA. I am hoping there are more books in the series--possibly about the other Reed brothers. And obvs I hope we get more of Logan and Emily.

My only complaint would be that I wish these books were longer!!

4 Sexy and Secretive Stars!!

description

Emily is back at New York to study music at Julliard's and more important: Back to Logan.
But this time she’s not alone: her parents are spending a few days at NY in business and her asshole of an ex-boyfriend is also there: and living at her apartment until he finds a house of his own.
She and Logan are trying again, this time for real and with no secrets, but there are not making their life easier.
They are decided to make them work… forever, but now Emily isn’t a homeless girl with secrets anymore: She’s a rich girl, heir of an empire whose father only wants to marry well, so a deaf guy covered in tattoos isn’t his idea of perfect husband.
They want to stay together more than anything, but are they strong enough to keep their love when everyone is holding against them?

description

This was a great sequel to the first book: and even more sweet. :D
I love to see how this couple ended after all they’ve been thought. Towards the end it started to become a little too cheesy and some scenes looked a little forced, but the romantic girl in me loved it anyway.
Definitely, a series that you can’t miss ;)

Okay, I’m going to cut to the chase - this might be sort of an unpopular opinion, but the more I read, the more this second half of the duet/second book of the series felt…
description
…almost unnecessary. Now I’m not calling it a bust or completely unenjoyable(I liked when L&E were alone), but all the OTT drama with her father & ex read like filler for nothing more than to delay the HEA, instead of a deeper dive into Logan & Emily’s romance or enhancing it. I didn’t completely buy the resolution to all of that drama either tbh 🤷‍♀️. I would’ve preferred more moments with his family over all of that. But honestly, with a tweak or two, the first two chapters here in SS&S would've been a better way to wrap things up nicely as an epilogue for TT&T.

So many awesome S words for this title!! Does SSS stand for Smart, Sexy and Secretive or Sassy, Sweet and Swoon worthy? They're all true!

“The tat that started it all. He set me free when he unlocked my world. He’s the peace in my soul. He’s the on ewho opened my shackles, and I’ll love him forever.”

This book is not just about love, it’s about family and understanding. It’s light and funny, with touching depth.

I do have to point out the reason for the 4.5 It’s because at times it feels like there are gaps left that need to be filled. Mostly a bit more description and detail, maybe I feel like that because I really liked the story and just want more :)

Another wonderful experience with Emily & Logan and the Reed clan, was had by all!!! I give this one 4.5 stars. Mainly because it was a little short in my opinion, there was some predictability to some of the elements, some repetitiveness, and some things seemed to happen a little to abruptly. But I much rather a story I am loving be too short a little predictable and quick rather than the opposite, hence only the .5 deduction.

 photo love.jpg

We pick up three months later and it doesn't take forever and a day for Emily and Logan to find their way back to each other. (I loved that too!) We had plenty of time to focus on their relationship. They work really well together in difficult situations and I really enjoyed how they stuck together when times got tough. The issues that caused anxiety were dealt with somewhat quickly and did not drag out leaving you pulling your hair out. I think it was just the right balance of drama and angst. I am so very excited to read more about the Reed brothers in the future and hope to get some glimpses into how Emily and Logan are doing later on. This book left me with lots of warm and fuzzy feelings and I suggest this series for anyone who wants a great dynamic story that will make you tear up and get angry but in the end walk away with a smile on your face.

4 Strong Stars! I'm very happy with the direction this book took.

Could this have all been wrapped up in one book? Yes, I believe so, but it also could have gone very bad, and yet it didn't. I'm not a fan of author's dragging couple drama from one book to the next, but that was not the case here. There was drama, don't get me wrong and some of it a little over the top, but as far as Logan and Emily were concerned...they were solid, no back and forth, they find common ground and stand together as one, and I loved that!!

I adore Logan and Emily, and even though they are dealing with their own struggles as a couple, they are perfect for each other. The love is strong, very strong between these two, and you feel it every time they are together. The involvement of both of their families added some additional layers to the story, although I could have done with out one or two scenes involving Emily's family...her father in particular. He's unbelievably ridiculous and one disastrous scene at the end might have gone a little too far for my taste. Then again, I was flipping pages like a mad woman, so maybe I liked the drama. I admit it, I was sucked in. Funny how that happens.

To the author's credit, she is actually giving you two books in one. Each book in the series has a sexy-lite version, with suggestive, not descriptive sex, or you can read full out steam! So, the reader gets to choose. The author did this for her son, who was not comfortable reading the steamier version, but wanted to read his mother's books. She passed it on to us...we get to choose. So, even though initially I felt that books 1 and 2 could have been released as one book, there is a method to Tammy Falkner's madness. She didn't make us wait forever for book 2, which I appreciated, and you get your money's worth, whether or not she offered up both versions. I hope she continues to do this with the other books as the series moves forward.

I'm hooked on this series and most especially the Reed brothers. You can see the writing on the wall for some of the characters, but one thing is for sure, it's proving to be an addictive series that doesn't just focus on one couple, this is about family!

Dear Ms. Falkner, THANK YOU for writing a series where the characters aren't insecure and love and trust are able to go hand in hand without unnecessary angst and drama.

description

Going into this book, it's clear Logan and Emily deeply love one another; and while people try to stand in their way, they continue to stand by each other and know that they'll cross whatever bridge they have to and jump over any hurdles along the way, as long as they have each other. You never doubt it it; which is why I love this series so much.

Me after I finished the book:

4.5 Sweet & Charming Stars!

What a great read!!! It wraps up Logan and Emily's story.

“I decide then and there that I will change her life. And I will do it simply by loving her exactly as she is.”

Emily is going back to New York so she can pursue her dreams and be with the boy she loves. But...she is not sure he is still waiting for her because it’s has been months since she last saw him.

description

Logan can’t stop thinking about the girl he loves. He knows she will come back...but when?!?! And then...one evening while he is working he sees a beautiful, blond girl- his girl! Her hair and clothes are different but she is the same girl that he needs like he needs air.

“God , he’s so handsome when he smiles . And when he’s not smiling. And when he’s sleeping. And when he’s awake. And when he’s breathing.”

So Emily and Logan’s reunion is a fact. They both are happy to be with each other and their love is stronger than ever. However, their happily ever after won’t come easy. They have to convince Emily’s parents to accept Logan and her ex-boyfriend will cause them even more troubles. Then tragedy will put them all on the ultimate test.

I love Emily and Logan. Their love is really beautiful. I definitely recommend this series.

Smart, Sexy, and Secretive is the continuation of Logan and Emily’s story. Following on from Emily going back to California, Logan is left in New York wondering if/when Emily is coming back. Thankfully things move very quickly and soon they are back together, with very minimal drama involved in the reunion, which I was very happy about. It’s clear that they are still very much in love and want nothing more than to be together.
“Loved you then. Love you now.”

Unfortunately, Emily’s father doesn’t approve of Logan at all. He makes this clear at every turn, being completely rude and disrespectful to both Logan and Emily. He even goes as far as moving Emily’s ex, Tripp to New York to be Emily’s “roommate.”

What follows is a lot of not much and then a ton of over the top drama toward the end. There were a lot of things that didn’t work for me in this book. First, I just found it kind of boring, there just was no meat to the story. It was a lot of sappy thoughts with the sex scenes thrown in and I kept waiting for something interesting to happen. And by interesting I DO NOT mean what ended up happening…

When I realized toward the end of Tall, Tatted and Tempting that Logan and Emily would be getting another book, I was kind of excited. After getting into this one though, it soon became clear to me that a second book for them was really unnecessary. TTT was a short book. I really wish there had just been a few more chapters added to it and maybe an epilogue to tie up their story. As much as I like both Logan and Emily I didn’t enjoy reading (listening to) this book. My favorite part was the interactions with the brothers and even though this was a bust for me, I am looking forward to checking out the books for the rest of the Reed Brothers.
“I know you love her, and, hell, I love her too. And Matt would throw you off a bridge if he thought he could have her.” …
“Ew,” Matt complains. “I don’t like her like that.” He points a finger in my face. “But I will throw you off a bridge if you hurt her.”

4 Standing Up For What You Believe Stars * * * *

This is the second installment in Tammy Falkner's Reed Brothers series. She has created a family of strong, real life men... we could meet any one of them some place if we were lucky. These men have heart, caring and sex appeal galore...but more importantly, the strength of them as a unit provides the ability for all of them to share their love with others.

We follow Emily and Logan in their young, fresh romance through their POVs. Genius. We experience the hurdles her father throws at them by bringing in the pompous ass of the ex boyfriend. There are confrontations, manipulations and out and out insults aimed at Logan. He, though, knows what and who he wants; he is not intimidated by the family's money or status.

He has only one goal in mind... to make his life with Emily.

I am a huge fan now of this series. The humanity of it gets to me. Learning disabilities, hearing impairment... they are things to learn how to cope with and find alternatives and solutions. No pity parties or woe is me.... it is let's get on board and figure out how to live to the fullest. This is a positive attitude and should be with all things. It makes this such an asset to the storyline.

It also doesn't hurt that the couple is so great together. They fit... they are a unit and never run away from each other.

There is a continuing feel to these stories but not to the point of serious cliffys... it is more like the reader wanting to know what will happen now... with the other parts of the family. The layering of the secondary storyline with fleshed out characters enhance the overall reading, too.

There are more books in this series... revolving around one of the younger brothers, Pete. I will be jumping onto it next because I think I have adopted 5 brothers late in my life...

Smart, Sexy and Secretive by Tammy Falkner
Series: The Reed Brothers
Book #: 2
Characters: Logan & Emily
**Do not recommend reading without first reading the first half of Logan & Emily’s story in Tall, Tatted and Tempting

Emily is returning to New York after sacrificing her wants for Logan’s brother Matt to get the care he needed, but this time she has an alley in her mother, even if her father is dead set against her settling for Logan.

Three months have passed since she fled, unsure if Logan was able to hold on to faith that she’d return – three months of not being able to communicate with him due to him being deaf. But all of that fades away when she rushes to see him the minute she gets settled.

As Logan tries to claim Emily as his own, he has to combat her father and her ex that seems to keep getting in the way. Winning over her father seems to be an impossible feat, but lucky for Logan, Emily doesn’t need anyone’s approval when it comes to following her heart.

In the second installment of this series and the completion of Logan’s story we get a book with all the feels! I loved watching these two come back together, loved seeing the love that these brothers share and even the softer moments between Emily and her parents... it all was just chopped full of feel good moments.

It took me forever to get to this series but I just can’t stop myself from reading them now. Each brother has their own set of endearing qualities and back story that all blends so nicely together and although I loved Pete’s story and Logan was sitting pretty easily in the top spot... I think Matt’s heart is what I’m going to fall in love with the most.

If you love a great series that is compiled of fantastic standalone novels, this is one to check out. It is filled to the brim with feels and is low on the angst and just gives you this happy feeling once you flip that last page.

Emily and Logan's story continues in this follow-up to 'Tall, Tatted and Tempting'. This time around, they're up against Emily's conniving father and her douchebag ex-boyfriend. It seems that these two just can't take a hint and are determined to see Emily marry Tripp. A tragic accident changes everything and Emily's father is forced to reconsider the future he'd envisioned for Emily.

Much like the first book, this second book was heart-warming and sweet. I listened to the audiobook version and the narration was good. I liked this follow-up and felt like it gave some closure after the abrupt change in events at the end of book 1. If you're interested in where Emily and Logan's relationship went after book 1, then you'll probably enjoy this one also.

"...my eighteen year old son asked me if he could read. But when we got to the “hot” parts, he asked me if I would cut them out. He asked me for a version “just for him.”
Tammy Falkner
Well, I'm not sure I know which version I read, but semi-dirty, smexi-talk was exhibited, a little, by the hero, Logan. (Again) still, I couldn't reconcile Neo-alpha-like Logan, the I-get-down-with-the-low-down Logan, with the Logan who is deaf and didn't talk for eight years. When his words come out...the most we get is that they're "soft" & "quiet-like", so please anyone, feel my frustration when he is speaking his mind in longer than two sentences and I am absent descriptions of "raspy" "rough" "uneven pitches and tones" like he's trying his voice out or needs to repeat himself. That would have been more plausible.

The more Logan entrenches himself in Emily's life(meeting her family),the bolder he is portrayed. Only one time do we get someone reacting ignorantly towards Logan, a person shouting words at him like he is dumb, but this is not provoked by any embarrassing speech performance, just by the knowledge that his is deaf. I guess I would have liked a more realistic characterization of this aspect. Not that being deaf is a crux, but at times I forgot that he was deaf because he responded as if he weren't, in long speeches. Just one of my pet peeves when it comes to connecting with characters.

Anyway, in this sequel, Emily has faced her greatest fear and starts to try new things like enrolling in Julliard and learning sign.
description
It's relieves some of the implausibility when she and Jordan have moments of communication in sign. And even though I liked Emily a little more in this one, her character never outshines Logan's. It almost gets outdone by the side stories of Logan's brothers, Matt and Paul, threatening to steal a little of the main couple's thunder. The heart-tickling "family" love is ever present coupled with a bit of tease to get you interested in reading future stories.

In all, Logan and Emily stay together by the sweetness that is Emily and the sheer strength of determination that is Logan. The biggest conflict between them is Emily's rich autocratic father who makes some underhanded moves to undercut Logan. And Logan's reaction to this is at times impressive, but at the same time not as poignant as it was probably written to be. Emily and her father come to a turning point in their relationship, something of which happens belatedly and awkwardly.

Sooo, this sequel may not have been as lame as most I've read in the NA world, but it wasn't a sparkling surprise either. I'll just say that I didn't mind reading it one bit, at all.

4.25 (YAY it’s still Emily and Logan’s Story) Stars

There will be spoilers from Book 1, Tall Tatted and Tempting.

Emily left Logan to save Matt. Who saw that coming right? She told the reporters that she will be back in NY. So its months later and Logan has waited and Emily is ready to be back with her man.

I LOVE that there is no separation! Yes, Smart, Sexy and Secretive was a bit short (not as short as book 1), but Tammy Falkner didn’t split them up! Usually this happens in book 2 in series.

Emily is back to her old self, she’s blond, rich and going to school. Logan is still the poor guy living with his brothers. Emily’s father disapproves of Logan and Logan tries really hard to fit in Emily’s world.

I want to say how much I love there was JUST the right amount of angst, tension and light moments. I was never frustrated and didn’t want to pull my hair out. I love Logan’s and Emily’s love for each other. Yes, Emily is very different from Logan. Emily’s family can afford a private jet and it’s all about appearances. Logan doesn’t have the easiest life, but he lives it to his fullest and pursues what he loves.

Emily’s father has a huge presence in her life and even Trip comes back to add more conflict. I wish these books were longer, but just like book 1, I wasn’t disappointed.

I’ve started reading Smart, Sexy and Secretive few minutes after finishing TTT, which totally made my day. This books are ideal halves of amazing story that made my heart beat faster and changed my face to the one similar with Joker’s. That’s how much I grinned, while reading it. I enjoyed it immensely and I hope Tammy will surprised me in other books as well. I hope will get to read a story of every Reed Brother and I can’t wait to open Matt’s story, he totally deserves happily ever after.
It’s very quick read and I devoured it. Every page is filled with what I love the most. \

Book 1 ended with Kat (real name Emily) leaving Logan and returning to SF.
Now it's 3 months later, and Emily has gotten acceptance to go to Juliard and she secretly hopes that being in the same city (NYC) will reunite her with Logan. After all now he knows that she left him in accordance with the deal she made with her father to pay for the costly cancer treatments for Matt (Logan's older brother). Will he forgive her for just leaving him like that?

This one had a bit more sex than book 1, much to my dismay. I was concerned it would overshadow the story. I loved how committed Logan and Emily despite her father's best attempt to pair her with his protégé Tripp.

The relationship between Logan and his 3 brothers remains the best thing in this book. Brothers have so much love and support, and they've embraced Emily. This isn't the typical tattoo artist/rocker romance I'm used to. I liked this story because character connection engaged me. The main characters were very likable and I was hopepeful for their future together. I like that peace was achieved and relationships were repaired.
The writing was enjoyable, and I plan to read more from this author in the future.

5 i-cant-believe-it's-over-right-away STARS!

Emily and Logan's story continues...

Emily returned to New York to go to college and be with Logan again. They encountered her @$$ole of an ex and her dad is determined to make her see that they are not fit for each other while her mom says otherwise. And a tragic accident made everything clear.

They didn't have a smooth relationship, it's like everything and every step of their relationship was being challenged. But they were both determined to hang on and make it work.

EMILY is still the same spunky, set on her goal person who wont take anything less than what she wants -- and what she want is...

Julliard...

I've always wanted to study music, and now I can.

Logan...

He set me free when he unlocked my world. He's the peace in my soul. He's the one who opened my shackles, and I'll love him forever.

and her father's acceptance...

I try to be all that you want to see,
But you know how it goes.
Nobody else knows
That I can't be what you need me to be.

description

LOGAN is soooo sweet. He really is swoon worthy!

"But the best thing about it is... she's mine."

description

He did everything he can to prove he is The One for Emily. He proved it to his family, to Emily's family and to the both of them. He even did the unthinkable without regrets.

Would you recommend this book? Oh hell YES!

This is the continuation of Logan and Emily's story from Book 1 Tall, Tatted and Tempting. Emily came back to New York to enroll for Julliard and to reunite with Logan. There were some conflict with her dad and the appearance of her douche of an ex-boyfriend.

Honestly, I felt that Logan's story should have ended with a HEA at Book 1 because I can't wait to read about the rest of the Reed Brothers. In Book 2 I felt that Logan and Emily's story was drag on with more sexy times and some minor drama thrown in. The silver lining to all that it is a pretty short and quick read, Logan and Emily's are a very strong couple, there isn't any silly misunderstanding or frustrating moment. You just can see how strong they are throughout the whole ordeal.

This was quite an average read to catch up with Logan and Emily. I can only said that they were so perfect for each other. Now I just can't wait to get to Book 3 for Pete's story.

P/s: There are two version in the ebook, Sexy and Sexy lite.

Song: Ed Sheeran 'Evergreen"

I do not even have the words to express how or why I loved this book so much (Logan and Emily period).... just sometimes a story comes along that makes your heart feel full-
was it overcoming adversity?? Fighting for what you want?? Never giving up?? True love?? Not letting anyone or anything stand in your way?? Loyalty?? Family?? Sex, tattoos, piercings and love knows no boundaries???
It was all of this and so much more for me. I just really loved this story.....
