They are the Guardians of Eternity, strong, skilled, seductive vampires chosen to protect—and to destroy. And they will risk anything to fulfill their duty, and satisfy their desires…
The daughter of a witch, Juliet Lawrence has inherited magical powers—powers that could be quite useful to Victor, Marquess DeRosa, London’s most powerful vampire. But that’s not all Victor desires of Juliet. He wants the unpredictable beauty in his bed—and he is accustomed to getting what he wants…
I'm not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother's knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me. I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library. Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.
Years later (no, I'm not admitting how many) I'm still an avid reader, and my tastes are still as varied as they were in my youth, which I suppose helps to explain why I enjoy writing regency historicals under the name of Deborah Raleigh, as well as my contemporary paranormals as Alexandra Ivy. For now that is enough to keep me busy, but who knows what the future might hold!
I do have a few other loves in my life besides reading and writing, the most important being my unbelievably patient husband, David, and my two sons, Chance and Alexander. Without their constant support and belief in me, I never could have been able to follow my dreams. They are truly my heroes.
This is part of Alexandra Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity series. It does not play a part in the series and can stand-a-lone.
We get to meet Victor our Clan Chef in London and Juliet his mate. Juliet and Victor make an appearance in one of the earlier books and I was curious on how they hooked up. We get action, attraction and humor. Levet of course is in this and we get all the usual humor he brings with him.
I loved revisiting the Guardians of Eternity world and this line was my favorite: “My home is here…in your heart. And nothing absolutely nothing, could please me more.”
I read this in an anthology previously but wanted it as a singe as well. I love this author. She has an amazing ability to very quickly develop a story line and characters that resonate with the readers emotion and intellect. The main characters here are magical and beautifully human all at once. Love the series this is part of as well. I am sorry this series had its final chapter, I miss my Guardian family☺
I usually LOVE this author because she does mates so right. But this book? I don’t know what happened but the vampire met his woman then left the country to prove she wasn’t anything to him and screwed other women!!! That’s not possible. Males can’t get it up for another after just smelling their mate the first time. Anyways, that ruined the whole book and any romance that could’ve happened. He can go back and enjoy his many whores because he doesn’t deserve a mate.
In the previous book Layla and Tane take refuge with Victor and Juliet at their estate in London. This is the little story of Victor’s obsession and rescue of Juliet from her foolhardy late night mission to the docks. Of course the story wouldn’t be complete without Levet’s involvement.
Fave scenes: Levet’s attic home and the order to find a carriage.
I adored this short story! I wished it was an entire book just so I could enjoy even more of mating between Victor and Juliet! I was thrilled to finally see where Levet began in the timeline of this series! The author did an amazing job above and beyond with these characters! I can’t wait to read more! I hope you enjoy these characters and series as much as I do!
It didn't take long for me to realize I've read this before but I enjoy Ivy's writing and this series in particular, and it is a short, that I went ahead and read it again. I wasn't disappointed. Good book, and then there is Levit who is annoying and delightful at the same time.
Victor and Juliet's story! I like that we got their story right after the last book because I really wanted to know how they got together and how they'd defeated the jinn.
I really loved this book. I wish it was longer though. Did they have any more adventures? Do they meet his brother and his mate ? Does levet bring them together ?
Interesting read but just not long enough. The romance was predictable, its heat was very hot. Then there was a little drama. Loved Levet being pulled into the story but wanted more of his friends pulled into it. The story seemed to just coast to a ending. It only got 4 stars because of Levet. What was the reason for this?
The characters in the series are always a surprise to me. Mrs. Ivy does a beautiful job of world building and always brings something unexpected to the table. All her books series go on my Re-Read shelf. I highly recommend the novella to new and long time readers. You won't be disappointed!
I love Alexandra Ivy's Guardians of Eternity series, and always look forward to the next book even if it only a short story. I also love that fact that she is able to bring Levet into all of her stories for some comic relief.
