Drama. Scandal. Secrets. And a whole lot of supernatural goings-on.
No one’s more surprised than Sophia when she’s struck by an unfamiliar maternal urge to move closer to her daughters. But there’s one obstacle to enjoying her luxurious new home near Lake Michigan: her fourth daughter, Cassandra. Revealed to be a rare prophet, Cassandra is missing. And that means the whole family is in danger. So instead of being greeted by a welcome committee, Sophia is targeted by kidnappers—and saddled with an exasperatingly sexy bodyguard…
Six feet of pure-blooded Were, Luc is gorgeous, ruthless, and immediately stunned by Sophia’s smoldering beauty. The man in him is on a mission to protect—while the wolf in him is on a mission to seduce, and possess. All the more reason to keep Sophia safe—assuming she doesn’t get them both killed first…
I'm not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother's knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me. I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library. Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.
Years later (no, I'm not admitting how many) I'm still an avid reader, and my tastes are still as varied as they were in my youth, which I suppose helps to explain why I enjoy writing regency historicals under the name of Deborah Raleigh, as well as my contemporary paranormals as Alexandra Ivy. For now that is enough to keep me busy, but who knows what the future might hold!
I do have a few other loves in my life besides reading and writing, the most important being my unbelievably patient husband, David, and my two sons, Chance and Alexander. Without their constant support and belief in me, I never could have been able to follow my dreams. They are truly my heroes.
This one was about Sophia, the mother to the four werewolf daughters in the series.
Sophia, I have never been a fan of. She is a total bitch and drop dead gorgeous. The author did try to give her a more softer side and explain why she is such a bitch.
Luc, is a purebred werewolf as well, drop dead sexy, and alpha to the core.
These two have an instant attraction and with the werewolf magic coming back and mates being found it works. They don’t give in, but fight the attraction until they both combust with some intense sexual encounters.
Their is also a mystery and I did not see who the bad guy was, until it happened.
Ha! The Queen Bitch Rules! How totally unexpected that Sofia would actually trust someone, even if it did take convincing and a bit of time. But, Sophia really didn't have much choice. Some one was trying to kill her! Her king also wanted her to go into hiding which she would never do! She was revered by her race and could certainly take care of herself. Not to mention she had just moved and opened her new club two weeks ago. So, she hired a bodyguard. Enters Luc... Lucy has came to Chi Town to protect Sofia. Florida was a long way away. But as he strives to protect her he is true with strange feelings to protect her, not to mention an extreme attraction. The two are hard to balance. And this is where things get dicey... Lucy struggles with priorities of protection versus attraction while Sophia just struggles. Will they be able to keep her safe, let alone alive? The investigation kicks off with a Party! This was a M/F, HEA in an existing world with fascinating world building and new as well as existing characters. Mature content. This is a 5 star, to be re-read story for me! Highly recommend.
Wow! I loved every second of this story! OMG, when I realized it the Queen Bitch of Pure Weres herself, Sophia! I didn’t read the descriptions of the novellas, just bought and read all 3 cover to cover! Sophia has her hands full with Alpha Luc! I wished this book was longer as the previous 2 novellas. The storyline was great, characters were amazing and whoa momma, an all Were Strip Club, owned by Sophia! I hope we see more of these characters in future books! I really hope that we read about Sophia’s first meeting with her son in law Salvador. In his defense, he was trying to keep his very pregnant mate and her sisters happy by helping to protect Sophia behind the scenes. I hope everyone enjoys this book as much as I did!
After decades of being ‘caged’ in her role as a breeder, Sophia has decided it’s her turn at the good life. She’s the mother of the four daughters born to save the weres and she’s done. But when she moves into an estate on the shores of Lake Michigan near Chicago she starts to get threats and ‘mysterious’ accidents. So she hires a bodyguard.
Luc has been hired by Salvatore to secretly protect Sophia, his mother-in-law against her wishes by pretending to be a regular bodyguard, but ends up enjoying his role too well.
Just when Sophia discovers Luc’s secret, things escalate and become deadly.
More novella than novel, this is a quick, fun story that explores the idea that one is never too old to find one’s soulmate.
The plot is very simple but in a story that is this short there is not room for deeper exploration and in this case it works. The pace is ‘just right’ and the overall reading experience is most satisfying.
Rating is a solid 4 stars as this offering is too lightweight to reach a full 5 stars.
This book is about Sophia and a pure-blooded were named Luc. I have never been a fan of Sophia. She is a bitch and she admits it. The story does try to give her a softer side and a reason for her attitude though. Overall I enjoyed the story but I still don't really like Sophia.
