Fantasies - we all have them. For some it’s their dream job; others want the wedding, the 2.5 kids, the white picket fence. My fantasies are a bit more...depraved. Dark and sinful, they have destroyed relationships and my livelihood, yet I still submit to them like a slave. Sex. For most, it’s a natural expression of love, caring, or lust. But there are those of us who can’t stop once we’ve had a taste. Those of us who don’t want to. And the shame of that never-ending cycle will eat us alive... My name is Evan James, and I am a sex addict. **Please note that SEX ADDICT was previously published as A Desperate Volumes 1-3

The book was originally published as a three-part short A Desperate Man series.

About the plot: Evan James is a sex addict. He can't go without it and this irrepressible sexual desire ruin his life. He lost his job, prestige, respect, now he lives an illusion with almost empty bank account. At the end of the day, however, the most important thing is to find someone, no matter whom, with whom will be able to satisfy for a brief moment his desire. But after each encounter he feels disgust and shame to himself and he can't break this cycle.

One night he meets a gorgeous blonde who he takes home and spends with her all night long and morning followed. Neither of them do repeats, but after this one night she got under his skin. Evan can't stop thinking about her, nor come without her in his thoughts. Then he get the chance to regain control in the field of work and to get his life on track. To his surprise, his new boss, Reagan is a beautiful blonde from remarkable night, who has a lot more self-control than he ever had and as well as secrets.

Final thoughts: Totally not what I was expecting. I don't know why, but I thought it would be dark romance, and that I find here a lot of disturbing sex scenes. Not that I have anything against, and I don't know where and how it came to me, maybe the title itself this suggests, but after all, I was surprised. And we found here very hot, unique sexual scenes but also warm story with entertaining characters who indeed have their addictions. But above all it is a story about two people who match each other perfectly with appetite in bed and in life.

In fact only the first part is disturbing or shocking. And honestly probably my least favorite. The story slowly progresses and actually we don't know much. A lot of secrets and mainly problems with his addiction. The second begins with a small time shift ahead, and although in the beginning I felt a little lost, the story started heading in a great direction. And it was just better and better.

I incredibly like the heroes of this book. Reagan is a feisty, confident woman, and their exchanges were highly entertaining. I love, love the change that occurs in Evan and progress with their relations. The cup of coffee flirt? Awesome! You have here everything, one night stand, friendship, hate, desire, lust, lies and finally, of course, love. You will find moments of fun and extremely steaming and hot. And also the great mystery that explains some things.

In summary I am very positively surprised by how the story grow and progressed. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts and I couldn't come up with a better match. Two great authors created a very entertaining but with some serious difficulties story. It has to result in a great reading.

S*x Addict definitely had some hot sex let me tell you that but it also had a great story. Evan is a sex addict with some huge cravings. He's so uninhibited when it comes to his needs and getting them satisfied. That's pretty much what his life revolves around. Until a gorgeous woman changes all that.
Reagan is Evan's match made in heaven. She brazen and doesn't give a damn. Very confident and comfortable in her sexuality.
Those two were hot as hell but also fun. They complement each other. Reagan has secrets and I didn't see them coming which was fantastic. Because of her Evan slowly starts to change and that was something I really enjoyed. Their bantering was sexy and I knew what it would lead to because the anticipation was intense.
Not just a story about sex but so much more.

This book was so much more than I expected it to be! I had no idea where the authors would really take this book since the blurb was not full of information. We know the hero’s name and that he’s a sex addict, but that’s about it. The book starts off pretty scorching. Two people definitely into each other. But, both of their rules are that they’re with the person only once. No repeats!! But, they find themselves lusting after one another long after they’ve said goodbye. There has to be something stronger here.

Evan James had a great job. He’s smart, attractive, and such a lady killer. But, he gets involved with the wrong woman and loses everything. When he gets an interview for a job so he can start putting his life back in order, he just can’t say no. And, low and behold, he’s hired on the spot. It’s a set-up, though, from people in his past who want nothing more from him than just to help. His new boss, however, is one huge blast from the past. Evan eventually realizes it as these two find it harder and harder to refrain from getting involved once again.

Holy s**t Batman!! I didn’t see that coming!! Like I always say, it’s the unpredictability that keeps this reader so invested in the story. When I don’t see a reveal coming, it just makes me further intrigued. And, this was absolutely one interesting book. Of course, you have a cast of great characters, some engaging storylines, and a romance that is passionate and erotic. The whole sexual addiction theme was not just brushed over. The authors describe to what extent Evan suffers from and what therapy he decides to partake in along with how his healing progresses throughout the book. So, it’s not dealt with lightly. We also get more acquainted with his boss, Reagan, as their relationship takes on a whole new meaning.

This was such an eye-opening story as I’m sure that the authors did their research to make Evan’s addiction believable. Both main characters suffered with confidence I felt. They both needed reassurance that they meant something. And, when they came together time after time, their chemistry was amazing! It was just the lies and the deceit that would keep them apart. Will they ever figure out that they were meant to be together and it was just misunderstandings that kept getting in the way?

This was just one thrilling ride! So much heartache that lead to difficult situations. The banter between the two was exciting! The coffee cup notations were cute! And, when it came down to it, Evan was just a man needing reassurance that he was worth something and Reagan was just the woman to make him feel that. So, much more to this book than just sex. It was really a more moving story as I got deeper into the book. And, I was happy to give it a shot because I really enjoyed it!!

This book left me with a lot of questions.

This book left me with some questions, and didn't even give detailed explanations to what I felt was important to the plot. No rundown on what made either of the characters tick.. 1.Why did Reagan have rules to her relationships? Why didn't she want things to get serious with any man? 2. Why did she want a new start? It made it seem like after her bachelor's degree. Why not before, if it was because of her parents. 3. What did Evan's dad have on his mom to make her stay? 4. Why exactly did he hit rock bottom at his last job? Like we got a couple of sentences on this. But not a thorough start to finish detail of events, thoughts, aftermath, etc...5. No details on how it all started with his addiction. Why, in a couple of sentences, but not why THIS particular one.

With all of these questions, this book felt incomplete and unsatisfying.

A top pick for 2016!
I freaking loved this book!! The writing team of Brooke Blaine & Ella Frank is fantastic. Sex Addict is seamless and extremely addictive. Do not let the name mislead you... Yes, it's about a sex addict and it is absolutely panty changing, molten hot, but this story has many more layers. It's filled with twists and turns that keep you pondering and turning pages.

Evan James oozes sex, money and sophistication, but he is a seriously fucked up beautiful man... He's an absolute sex addict. No, not just a guy who likes sex. Unfortunately his addiction has made him lose himself, as well as everything he has worked for. He self medicates with sex and he has an insatiable thirst, he can't seem to quench. Just fucking his way through life. He believes that's all he's worth, but if you look deeper you will see who he really is....

Reagan Spencer is calm, cool, collected and quite the minx! She's a independent, successful, blonde bombshell. (She gave me a lady boner!) When it comes to men, she's all about love em and leave em. She takes what she wants. Always wearing her impenetrable armor... till she meets Evan! Their chemistry and passion is volcanic! (Get ready for a cold shower!) Looks like they have finally met their match. It's a battle for not only domination, but for mind, body & soul.... This struggle will leave you beyond sexually frustrated yet feeling totally frivolous! Your body on fire and your heart gleefully full. Their story is so much more they we can see, as the secrets unfold the plot thickens...

Ella & Brooke know how to write sex, but Sex Addict also proves they know romance. What an amazing pairing. Let's hope these two keep writing together. Bravo ladies!

Apparently, this was a series that has been compiled into a total book. I have to tell you that if I had to rate the book on the first section alone, it would have been a much different rating. In fact, I doubt I would have read on to the second or third sections. However, I read reviews that told readers to stick with it, so I did.

The first section seemed all over the place. Told totally from Evan's perspective (in third person, which I don't really like to read), the book really missed capturing the desperation a sex addict might feel when hitting rock bottom. It attempted to get there, but it really didn't quite hit the mark. I really couldn't grasp his addiction. All I felt was a disconnect to his plight, not really feeling more than mild distaste for his actions. I didn't feel any sympathy, any empathy or even any pity toward this weirdo. That's it; I just felt he was a weirdo.

Plus, how can Evan be considered a sex addict when Regan seems to match his prowess partner for partner, complete with "no repeat, no sleepover" rules to follow? Why is he the only addict, only because he was forced out of his former job for sleeping with a client's wife? Many non sex addicts do that sort of thing. Ugh. See why the disconnect? I just didn't feel it.

The second act was Regan's point of view (again, in third person). Once we were introduced to her inner thoughts, things improved. Plus, Evan started getting help through therapy and became downright charming. But the tone of this section is pretty cute with just a tiny bit of erotica mixed in. The third section alternates between both characters and turns more toward the romance genre.

Had the first section been rewritten to match the last two, the book could have been more enjoyable. Somehow, that first part just weighs the rest down, not because of the subject matter, but because it just doesn't meet the bar of what it tried to accomplish. This flaw makes it hard to understand the point of their relationship.

Ever wonder what goes through a sex addict's mind? Then this is the book for you.
Evan James & Reagan Spencer are just two of the many amazing characters in this book that made my heart melt and break at the same time.

It was almost too easy to get lost in the story. :) the writing was really good. And the ups and downs of Reagan and Evan's romance had me on my toes the whole time. I loved how Reagan, or should i say "Jennifer" was a strong, confident and sexy woman. I fancied even more that Evan was her match, in almost everything from the workplace to seducing others to f#%king behind closed doors.

-Did i mention how hot and sexy Evan James is? Just in case you wondering...he is build like a god, with a trim waist, muscles galore and he looks so good in a suit, you just want to scream or moan (which ever you prefer) :) And maybe its just me, but i find it super sexy when guys and most girls have a first name for a last name. ;)

I basically loved everything, except it didn't seem like the book really needed the last two chapters. It could have all been condensed into a small paragraph. -my opinion.

And one more thing slightly confused me. Is the main female's name Reagan or Jennifer? She goes by both but unless i read over a name change. Its weird that she was a little girl as Jennifer and then grew into Reagan. I don't know...

Besides that, this was one fun, witty and crazy story with awesome characters i couldn't help but fall in love with. I normally don't like such strong personalities for women roles but here it worked, and i loved every second of it :)

Oh! And i have to mention: i am soooo happy this book didn't take the usual rout of having Evan try to become celibate and stay away from sex. He kept f#%king and thank god for that! :)

So many ups and downs. The shifting between the characters, the change in personality. The lust and love. Chemistry and attraction. Addiction and white lies.
A cycle that will make you dizzy.

He was broken, but he wasn’t unfixable, and that gave her hope.

Evan was everything. The sexy man, but with a tortured soul on the inside that no one knows about. This book was like his own journey. Starting from zero, but never ending.
I liked Evan , and I loved how much he tried and wanted to be better , but he frustrated me at some points. He was somehow still lost, until the end.
I liked Evan, but I didn't love him. I loved getting into the head of an addict though!

“Sometimes we have no idea what we need until someone gives it to us.”

Reagan, ugh. I just don't know. I loved her. And her sexy sassy character. She was no easy woman. And I admired this about her. She was different. But something was missing. I didn't connect with her. I hated how she and Evan were stubborn near the end. I just wanted to push them together and fix everything.

“God, Reagan,” he whispered, when he raised his head to look down at her. “I need…”
When he trailed off, she shook her head and urged him to continue. “What do you need?”
He licked his lower lip, and she could tell he was trying to decide how much to say. Then he lowered his head, pressed a kiss to her ear, and said, “To be the man you see when you look at me like you are now.”
She turned her head, and when their eyes connected she asked, “And who’s that?”
“The man who deserves your heart.”

This book had the angst, happy and the sexy times!! I loved the action and the change from one chapter to another. It was a pretty good mix.
I got bored at some points while reading, and I just wanted to push my way through the book!!
Of course, the sex is a no go! It was OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was written perfectly and it's not on the cold side, very hot actually!!
The plot twist was unexpected, and I didn't see it coming. This did spice things up a bit.
I loved Evan and Reagan's banter/conversation, they were both funny and always crossing the damn boundaries!
In this book, I got the sex, the romance and the drama. A pretty good package, and two characters that will make you go crazy!

Now, can I fall in love with a sex addict and have my happy ever after? Pretty please?

Evan James is a man with a problem. He's a sex addict and it's cost him a lot of great jobs. When he's offered a second chance in a job that he probably wouldn't have accepted before, working under a woman who is very quickly becoming an obsession for him, he needs to decide if it's finally time to make some changes.

I have to admit I wasn't too sure about this book before, which is why I didn't read it the first time around. However, we're talking about an Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine collaboration, so I caved and I'm very happy I did. This was different than I expected, yes, there's a lot of hot, dirty sex, with intensely raw characters, and it definitely it's not your regular romance, but it is much better because of that.

I adored Evan! He was intense, he was real, he had so much going on in his life and on top of that his addiction that threatened to take over his life. I loved that he took the steps he needed to get better and even when things didn't particularly go the way he wanted, he kept trying.

It took me a bit to warm up to Reagan, but I think in the end, she was just what Evan needed and they worked well together in most aspects.

All in all, a very good, seamless collaboration! A very hot, different read that I definitely recommend!

Rating: 4.5 Stars!!!

I have to admit I was a little worried in the beginning of the book that this just wasn't for me. I'm not a big fan of the main characters sleeping with other people once they have met one another. However, I kept on reading and I am so glad that I did! The book turned around and gave me exactly what I wanted! Who doesn't love to read a super sexy read with a HEA?

Evan James is - as we already guessed from the title of the book - a sex addict.
That's what basically ruined his life 8 months ago.
The only things he has left now are his apartment and his car.
And his sex addict-ways are nowhere near stopping. He goes out almost every night and he never has problems finding willing ladies - not in a huge city like New York.
Having lost his job 8 months ago, means that he is almost out of money.
But things might change for the better - he has a job interview.
But of course it couldn't be as easy as just going in, getting the job, start building up his life again.
Nope - his new boss is the blonde girl he spend a wild night with a few days ago. The one who he can't get out of his head and his fantasies - however much and with however many girls he tries.
But of course there's a NO TOUCH policy at work.
And his addiction is getting worse with every day he has to see her at work......

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO POOR EVAN???
WiLL THERE BE A CHANCE OF A HAPPY EVER AFTER WITH MS. SPENCER?
OR WiLL HiS ADDiCTiON RUiN HiS LiFE FOREVER??
WiLL THERE BE A CLiFFHANGER?

I really had no idea what to expect when I started reading.
I thought - ok - this sex addict will be effing around all over the place, and we won't like him much. Maybe there will be a nice girl who will finally make him fall in love with her bla bla.
And yeah - it's some of that - he does eff around A LOT!
And yeah - there's also this girl. She's not this typical nice and innocent girl though. She's kinda like Evan - she goes out at night looking for one-night-stands.
But once they meet, things start to change - at least for Evan they do.

I really enjoyed the story!
It was extremely sexy and a bit sad and moving and the reader really likes Evan - at least I did. We feel sorry for him and for whatever happened in his past - both his long-ago past and his more recent job-losing-past ☺

SEX ADDICT is a really sexy and interesting story! You will sooo not waste your money when you one-click it You'll fall in love with Evan too!!!
LOTS of verrrry erotic scenes - funny scenes - secret-revealing scenes - moving scenes - frustrating scenes - romantic scenes. Just PERFECT!

A very different read for me but I liked reading it a lot. it's a hot and sexy read. You would think in the beginning of the book that it's not so much a story but it quite surprises you :-) I adored Evan and although he had a tough childhood, I believe he was much stronger than he realised. Loved his chemistry with Reagan and just how their relationship developed. This story is definitely for readers who want to escape their daily life and get lost in a tempting read ;-)
Thought this was a great collaboration between Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank

This steamy romance was definitely highly entertaining and I loved the sexy scenes and banter. Great little twists that flipped the story on end and kept me turning the pages. Evan desperation turned into a redemption story and I was right there for it. Reagan was a sassy, confident young lady who stepped up at the right moment and got the ball rolling. The premise intrigued me and sure there was a little angst. It made the story more compelling and this a treat to read. The perfect book world escape.

5 Stars!!!

Wow! This book is packed with a super sexy punch of eroticism, grit, power, greed and the true meaning of a man addicted. A man willing to do just about anything to fulfill his need.

"He wanted to fuck her, own her, devour her, if only for the next few minutes. He was a man crazed.”

Even James is a sex addict, and not just some horny guy who can’t get enough. He’s 100% a true, real addict with an insatiable appetite that can never quite be satisfied, and he’s lost just about everything because of it. On one of his sex-capades he falls into bed with a hot blonde who not only satisfies his need, but she also revs his overactive brain up for more, and more, and more. Evan doesn’t usually get stuck on one woman ever. He moves along pretty quickly. So when blondie’s memory stays in his mind for longer than desired it unnerves him greatly.

"Was he simply trying to trade in one addiction for another?”

Evan is (or was) a very successful finance guy for a reputable company when his “problem” over took his conscience and caused him to lose it all. So now he’s jobless and hopeless, and the only thing getting him by is sex.

"Oh, baby. I told you you’d never want me to leave once you got inside.”

Reagan Spencer is no sweet little thing, just the opposite actually. She’s strong, independent, and gorgeous and so far she’s the only woman to keep Evan on his toes. Holy crap is this woman something else! I have very few woman characters that I swoon over (yes, I said swoon) but if anyone is worthy it’s Reagan, In my opinion she is the most perfectly well rounded woman one can be. The chemistry is still off the charts and the sexual tension is whoahhhh. It’s obvious that Evan and Reagan have unfinished business, but it’s also pretty obvious that neither is going to make the first move because neither of them do repeats. This makes for some major sexual-tension-flirtatious-banter between the two that was not only cute but laugh out loud funny at times. They are both so stubborn and set in their ways that they can’t see what is right in front of them.

"Well, inexperienced she must be because no respectable single female wanting to pick up a man would admit to owning two cats.”

“One can never have enough pussy.”

There are A LOT of unanswered questions that I’ve noticed while reading this book, and slowly--bit by bit things become clear, and you will be scratching your head wondering what is going to happen next. Reagan has a secret and Evan definitely has some stuff from his past that hasn’t been completely revealed. You learn some things, and let me tell you I was not expecting what her secret was. It was a great twist to an already intriguing plot, so well thought out and it definitely categorizes this book as an angsty, hot, sexy page turner! This story has so many different dimensions and colors, and the characters just make it come to life.

Let’s talk about sex… Holy crap can these women right the hell out of a sex scene!! Not only was I completely shocked at some of the sexual things happening in this book, but I was equally intrigued and couldn't get enough.. When I say this book is HOT, that's a gross understatement.
Please don't think this book is just an erotic marvel, because it is! But it's SOOOOO Much more than that. There are some parts that will make you swoon and have hearts in your eyes! The romance isn't lost in this story and you will definitely have a smile on your face when your done. This book is a romance lovers dream, packed with hot sexual tension, great build up, steaming hot sex and two very magnetic characters that you won't be able to forget. GO GET IT!!

Noteworthy experiences whilst reading this book (best parts, worst parts, quotes etc, personal opinions):

"Well, inexperienced she must be because no respectable single female wanting to pick up a man would admit to owning two cats.”

“One can never have enough pussy.”

I wasn't sure what I was getting with this book, yes the title and blurb give it away slightly, but I just thought it would be about the usual alpha male that just likes to fuck, falls for a girl and spends the whole book trying to prove himself and gain her trust. However, with Evan it's more then him fucking himself into oblivion, the guy has a genuine addiction, in therapy, loses everything because of it etc etc but it's not just him, Reagan is a feisty strong minded female and has a secret that she's not easily willing to share. This book is certainly addictive but anything by Ella for me is, and Brooke is the cherry on top.

The book is wrote in 3 parts, 1st Evan, 2nd Reagan then joint POV, but it's a good pace, and easy to keep up. It had a few twists and turns, laughs and heartache and packed with sex as you'd expect from these 2 writers.

Story: Evan James, what can I say about him? WOW! I have never read a book like this one. Evan had my sympathy from the get go. Evans vulnerability and imperfection is what drew me to this character. I loved that the Hero was flawed. These two characters are so different from the others out there. Reagan, she is a breath of fresh air for a female lead. I love when a woman is strong, feisty and stands on her own two feet. Evan. What can I say about him? Swoon worthy, sweet, sexy, funny, I want him wrapped in a bow for my birthday and Christmas. Yup, that about sums up this sexy beast of a man.

I loved the writing. It flowed nicely and I was engrossed in the characters. I can't tell you enough of how much I loved this book and recommend it. I’ve always called myself a book masochist. One who loves books filled with angst. After I finished reading this book I wanted to both hate Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine, and bow down to their awesomeness. That’s what this book did to me.

At one point while reading I blurted out, “Whoa! I didn’t see that coming.” This book takes a couple of twists and turns and I saw none of them coming. Like it took a turn, and about half a mile down the road veered off into the field. I’m still having trouble wrapping my brain around what just happened.
Evan and Reagan are one of those couples that take you take you by surprise. I loved where Ella and Brooke took this story. I laughed a lot at Evan and Reagans antics.

These two are explosive together, in and out of the bedroom. The banter is fun and witty. I love this book and the ending was spectacular. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for something light and very hot!

Narration: Jonathan L. James narration was good. His expressive narration wasn’t over the top which is a plus in my book. I liked how he did Reagan, so many male narrators do the female narration in a whiny voice, Jonathan did not. It was a pleasant narration and I would not hesitate listening to another book narrated by Jonathan.

At first blush, the idea of a sex addict, like Evan James is in the novel by Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank sounds exiting, daring, dirty and riveting, much like the opening scenes of the book, but, as with any real addict of any kind, it only takes a little scratch below the surface to see the real effects of being an addict.

The cravings and the hunger, the lengths one will go to to satiate the overpowering compulsion, the depths to which one can fall as it takes over their lives, and the things lost along the way. Evan has already lost a lot. His job, and his reputation, even perhaps his career, and surely his physical possessions can't be too far behind if his addiction continues to dominate his life, to say nothing of the self loathing that comes from being unable to exert control over one's own actions when the cravings come back.

Fortunately, there's hope on the horizon, in the form of a job interview, one that will hopefully resurrect his career to the point that he can at least maintain his habit even if not conquer it, but things are never that simple.

The woman who's interviewing him? They've met before.

Truly one of the most original reads I've encountered, this book delves deeply into Evan's particular pathology, which not only grants the reader a few salacious glimpses into the depths of his depravity, but also into the pathology of his own personal demons and his struggle to keep them at bay.

A fascinating study in the differences and overlap between love and sex, fascination and obsession, want and need. Evan's efforts to improve himself quickly spiral out of control until he realizes that he can't save himself all on his own, and he needs help. What he doesn't realize, at least at first, is that those around him all have their own agendas where he's concerned.

Part One of the book is told first person from Evan's POV, Part two, from the POV of Reagan Spencer, the woman he's met before, and finally, part three is told in alternating form between the two.

I have to say that while I found the first two parts to be utterly fantastic, I felt that the third part was, comparatively speaking, slightly less so. Still good, but not as great. Even so I'd still easily rate it as a 4 star read.

::..Reviewed for Red's Midnight Readers..::

Actually rating 3.5 stars .

Evan James has been dealt a bad hand in his early years and later develops an addiction to sex. An addiction that like most, is ruining his life. No job and fast running out of money, all he think about is his next fix.

With an itch to scratch, Evan finds himself in the company of a beautiful blonde who he takes home and spends the night with. Although neither of them do repeats, this blonde wiggles her way under his skin and he finds himself unable to stop thinking about her or find his release without her in his thoughts and Evan quickly realizes his life is fast approaching rock bottom.
Relief comes in the form of a new job prospect but little does he know that Reagan his new boss, is actually the feisty blonde he hasn't been able to shake from his thoughts.

They are both harboring deep secret that could ultimately destroy them but can they conquer these deep secrets before they consume them?

So initially the blurb and the title pulled me and I was looking forward to diving in but I quickly found it wasn't what I had expected. I was expecting a story about a guy's down spiral into addiction and what I got was so much.

There were some bits that I loved and some bits, not so much.

The writing style of this author duo was fluid and consistent and I feel they captured the subject of addiction really well but with it I was expecting something darker, although this story does contain some disturbing scenes and I mean disturbing but I liked them. It just added to the plausibility of this story line. It just shows you the levels of depravity addicts will sink to in order to chase their next fix.

However I found I just couldn't connect with the characters. Something I couldn't quite put my finger on unfortunately but in the story they worked really well together, complimenting each other in and out of the bedroom in this steamy romance.

Over all it was a good read but it didn't captivate me like I hoped it would.

It is a standalone novel, so if you're looking for a steamy romance as opposed to a dark romance, I would recommend this novel to you.

Evan James is the sex addict of the title, and when we meet him, he's having sex with a hot blond; he's also broke and nearing rock bottom after his addiction has cost him a job he excels at. When he goes to interview for a job he's desperate to get, one of his interviewers turns out to be Reagan Spencer, the hot blond he hasn't been able to get out of his mind.

The first part of the story is told from Evan's point of view, and I thought the authors did a great job of painting the picture of a man driven by his addiction. I didn't like this addiction-driven Evan very much in the beginning; he didn't like himself:
"He couldn’t decide which pain was worse: the physical agony, the f*cked way he’d used and disposed of another human being, or the guilt and humiliation of having to acknowledge who he really was."

I actually wasn't too fond of Reagan in the beginning either, as she has a few secrets of her own and I wasn't sure about her motivation at times. When the second part of the story switches to Reagan's pov, we gain a better understanding of her as a strong and confident woman, and get to see a much more likable version of Evan, who is charming and engaging. The story lightens up with some nice lol moments as the focus shifts from Evan's desperation and sex addiction to the relationship I really enjoyed watching develop between Evan and Reagan, and as Evan works to get his addiction under control. There is plenty of chemistry between the two and by the third part of the story where we get alternating points of view I was loving both of these characters.

Even though I didn't like either main character much in the beginning, the character development as the story progressed ended up really working for me. The story moved along at a nice pace and there were lots of little plot twists that kept me guessing. There some interesting secondary characters as well; I particularly liked both Reagan's best friend and Evan's therapist. I ended up really enjoying this story, and pretty much read it in one sitting. A solid, 5 star read for me.

Note that this was previously published as A Desperate Man.

Wow this is the first book I've read by a dual author team and I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised. I wondered if there would be a change in the feel of the way the story was delivered because it was two authors collaborating together, I have to say there was no indication throughout the entire book that would suggest this was indeed a team effort. The penmanship was flawless, the delivery had perfect fluidity and there was no conflict of styles at all in short it was perfection.

As the title suggests, this story is hot, sexy, tantalising and totally alluring. I found I couldn't put this down I was so captivated by the characters and their story.

First we meet Evan James, he's a complicated guy with more than a few issues and at first I really didn't think I would like this guys personality but as I read and the story unfolds I began to understand him more. Yes Evan is a little screwed up for want of a better description however he's very misunderstood and by the end of the book I absolutely loved Evan, not only was he seriously swoon worthy he has a fab sense of humour too.

Evan has one huge weakness ......SEX !! He meets women that will quell his craving but that's all they do, suppress his wants for a short time and then his desires are back in full force. Women are expendable that is until he meets one particular woman that turns his world upside down.......meet Reagan.
Reagan is a headstrong go getting power woman that excels in business and the bedroom and I loved that she was a perfect opponent to go up against Evan. Reagan is sassy, feisty and takes none of Evan tries to dish out, she is a brilliant character I loved her. It's refreshing to read a strong willed woman that's also on par for being the alpha character in the relationship rather than the male being the dominant.
This is one of the best reads I've read in a while, there's not only hot passion but mystery and intrigue blended into the story too, I loved this book and I totally recommend clicking it now.

Sex Addict is composed of three parts--which I'm assuming were the original three parts of the serial--told from a third person perspective, the first from Evan's, the second from Reagan's, and the third from both. There's a hell of a lot more going on in their story than you would first suspect going in. There are parts of their respective pasts that they're keeping from one another, and while one knows more than the other, I won't say who because then that just spoils the whole story for you. I will say that Evan's sex addiction isn't some frivolous thing. The man truly feels pain and suffers from this inexplicable need that strikes him anytime and anyplace. It was shown in a more real sense, and not made to look as if he simply enjoys each and every act he engages in. I don't think I've ever sympathized with a sex addict before, so Evan is a first.

This book has a lot of sex, but none of it ever felt gratuitous. Then there was the more fun parts of the story--the ones that had lighthearted banter and teasing--and there were exchanges that showed that both Evan and Reagan truly wanted to get to know one another outside of sex. The twists in the story are all intertwined, making for an intriguing and enticing read. The cast of characters never took attention away from Evan and Reagan, though I must point out that Dr. Michael Glover, Evan's therapist, was blunt and said what needed to be said without all the frou-frou and sugarcoating and could give Dr. Phil McGraw a run for his money. I never had the opportunity to read A Desperate Man, so I can't tell you if anything's different in this reincarnation, but what I can tell you is that Sex Addict is a five-plus-starred must-read. ♥

Sex Addict is the story of a confirmed liar and a sex addict falling in love. Everything about Reagan and Evan’s connection is extreme – from their sexual escapades to their feelings for one another and it is AWESOME.

Reagan and Evan’s romance made for one of my favorite reads. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts in erotic hotness but these two are not so fabulous when it comes to trusting one another. They just do not seem to have the confidence in themselves to have an actual relationship. Their journey focuses on them getting over their individual issues as well as their past mistakes and how to find a way to move forward toward their own version of happily ever after.

However, nothing about these two finding solace is easy. Their relationship is filled will secrets and lies – so they have a lot to get past. But every single time they gave into their feelings, it was a tempting and sweet surrender. Ella and Brooke gave me moments that I would devour and then re-visit. They created a lustful and passionate affair that was both beautiful and intriguing – I couldn’t put it down.

After experiencing Reagan and Evan struggling through their drama, I am torn between feeling absolutely satisfied and completely depressed when I got to the last page of the book. I had finally reached the end of an amazing love story but after spending time with Reagan and Even, I was addicted to this couple. It’s a bittersweet feeling.

From the first moments to the last, Sex Addict is can’t miss reading – making it a top recommendation from me. Meet Reagan and Evan – find out why they are the most alluring couple in the erotic romance genre. You will enjoy every dirty and enticing moment with this spectacular couple.

When our blog saw the sign ups to review Sex Addict, A Desperate Man, part 3, I had to jump on it. I am a sucker for anything that Ella Frank writes. The fact that this three part series is a dual author piece excited me as well. So, I jumped on that train! I read parts one and two as quickly as I could, part three was sitting on my kindle just teasing me.

When part two ended in a major cliffy, I was so so glad I had part three to dive into, since it picks up right where part two ends. Evan and Reagan still have so much to deal with. Evan continues to battle his addictions and the demons of his past and Reagan is still the liar that she has been from part one. Can these two broken, hurt, struggling to find themselves characters find it within themselves to forgive and forget? To move forward and put their rough pasts behind them?

Reagan and Evan's relationship has been such an explosive, physical one from the beginning. Now they are finding that they have to work harder to build up a trust that will give them the foundation to carry a real relationship forward. The crazy sexy banter is back and keeps you wanting more. I love the why these characters are written and how they have been so embedded in one another's live for all these years.

I look forward to reading more joint work from Ella and Brooke. They work/write so well together. Pulling off an awesome, sexy, roller coaster ride filled with drama and emotion, plus super hot sexy scenes that leave your panties drippin'! Go grab the final installment to this awesome novella series! I highly recommend it.

Hot Alert!

Starting this I thought oh dear, it's just going to be sex,sex and more sex but I was so wrong. I like sex scenes in a book but I love a good storyline too and that's what I got eventually.

Evan, obviously going with the theme of the book is a sex addict he has a strong craving for sex and not only is it ruling his life but has cost him his job and reputation in the business world he is in. Basically Evan is a guy who simply can't keep it in his pants.

The deep root of this need well the plot gets to that.

Told in third person although the conversations read as first person which helped it flow better, told in three parts, Part one Evan, part two Reagan and part three dual which was cleverly done I liked it, you got a build up to the last part where the two characters were together more and the lies and secrets came out.

Reagan, I liked Reagan she is a confident woman and as the plot unfolds definitely someone who goes after what she wants.

I loved the banter, the sex scenes were fan me down hot and the subtle hints in the story line and twists and turns drew the curiosity in me and as I first mentioned it wasn't all I thought this book was going to be.

The humour was great I chuckled to myself a few times at Evan and Reagan's antics, I got a new meaning to finger food too, in conclusion it was a fun hot read, you don't get romantic hearts and flowers but you do get straight talking people that clicked a few lol moments and a good hea.

My name is Michelle New, and I’m an Ella Frank addict.

For some reason I let this book sit on my kindle, unread. There are a few authors out there that I just adore and sometimes I feel like I need to savor their releases rather than devour them. Silly, right?

Evan James has a problem. It’s mostly in his pants, but it also lives in his head. An intense need to thrust his way through what is left of his life, through the heat that lies between the thighs of any willing woman. Until one catches his attention and it never seems to be enough.

After losing nearly everything, Evan is offered a chance at starting over – the only problem is that the woman his body is craving is now off limits and crossing the lines would cost him his second chance.

As Evan navigates his return to the life of the corner office, he struggles to control the lust he feels for Reagan, which is slowly turning to something more. But there is more than just a steady stream of sex that occurs throughout this story. Reagan, a woman who is Evan’s equal in every aspect seems to be hiding quite a few secrets – secrets that would expose Evan and push him out of the comfort that he’s grown accustom to. Lust turns into so much more as these two give into the temptation.

Now, if you’ve read these authors prior works – you know you’re going to get a solid story. While the story started off a little slow, once you started to get pieces of the larger story, it’s impossible to put it down.

A steamy, erotic and a thrilling story with depth; you will fall in lust with Evan and Reagan’s story.
