"A literary, fantasy/horror novella, tragic, yet beautiful!"
Vincent Maggy is destitute and can no longer cope with society. Bowing out, he stocks up his apartment with canned and dried goods, barricading himself from the rest of the world. Cutting himself off not only from all forms of human contact, Vincent also barricades himself from the light of the sun.
Yet while the world moves on without him - virtually at the speed of light - time stands still inside Vincent's apartment. With bugs and roaches making their way inside, he becomes one with the larva, the disease, and the darkness, creating an alter-ego to keep him company and writing love letters to a non-existent woman.
Finally, after months of living blindly, he pulls the boards off the windows, finding the world shockingly different than how he left it. A city miles away in the sky promises hope and healing, only Vincent is no longer sure to what world he belongs. Determined to make something of his life, despite the madness and bugs eating away at him, Vincent longs to be a part of any world...at any cost.
