Border Affair is an awesome addition to the On The Border series by Hebby Roman. This series is my first books to read of Hebby Roman's and I will be looking for more of her books. I'm so happy I was introduced to her writings by a friend. Hebby is now on my go to authors list.
Camila Villarreal is all grown up and is in the top 3 of Barrel Racers on her beloved horse, Macy, when tragedy strikes. Camila had postponed her education to be a vet, which she had dreamed of being her entire life, to fulfill her other dream of being a top winning barrel racer.
Fate puts Camila back in the path of the man she fell in love with at 12 years old. Her fathers friend and mothers business partner, Rusty Douglas. Rusty is almost two decades Camila's senior but that does not faze Camila so she blatantly throws herself at Rusty. Will he reject her advance or does he carry the same feelings toward her.
Rusty has been married in the past but he didn't marry for love and his marriage ended up being a mistake. Rusty has never truly been in love. Will he give in to his attraction to the now grown but young lady he refers to as squirt? Can he get past the age difference, his need to be respectful to Camila's mother. He's never had such an undeniable attraction to any other female before. Rusty has money, he owns properties, a degree and has everything he wants and needs except love and a family. Is Rusty even capable of love, he did not grow up with any examples of love. He would like to have a love story like the one he saw in Camila's parents. He doesn't think its in his cards.
Will a tramatic event that happens in Mexico when Camila and Rusty are on a horse buying trip bring the two closer together or end their hopes to be together.
Excellent, fast read and I can't wait to see what the 3rd book in the series is about! I have my hopes and its up next!

This is the first book I’ve read by Hebby Roman. It is only 131 pages.
I appreciated the slow growing attraction between them. At least for one of them. And over all I enjoyed the story. However there is something I just can’t seem to put my finger on. It may be that, to me, Camila seems to act more like 16 rather than 22. She’s a bit too moody and brash. With some polishing this could get at least one more star.

Hebby Roman's BORDER AFFAIR is spot on. Loved the gritty personalities, humor, and the romantic pull this book delivers!!!

Camilla's father's oldest and dearest friend, now her mom's Leticia's business partner, Rusty Douglas has been Camilla's dream man since she was 12 years old.
As these two try to get through everyday working as co-horse trainers on her mom's ranch, Camilla is at odds with Rusty's standoffish treatment, as well as her own life altering fate.
Has destiny dealt them more than they can handle?
Camilla and Rusty's turbulent romance and age difference continues to be quite unique, as their growing desires escalates into full blown physical passion.

Love found among intrigue.
A horse breeder hires and sponsors her foreman's son to come from Mexico. He has enemies who follow her and cause trouble at her ranch. She finds love with an old friend during all this. Great characters, terrific story with love and mystery. A great read, I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
