AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL HAS BECOME AMERICA THE BIZARRE. Government openly defies the law, Christians are prosecuted as criminals, children "transition" to the opposite sex, the president supports our enemies—and 130 million Americans depend on mind-altering substances just to get through life.
Turbocharged by the Obama presidency, long-coalescing forces of the political and cultural Left are bringing about their much-heralded “fundamental transformation of America.” That much everyone knows.
But this revolution is also causing a fundamental transformation of Americans—in profoundly negative ways. In The Snapping of the American Mind, veteran journalist and bestselling author David Kupelian shows how the progressive Left—which today dominates America’s key institutions, from the news and entertainment media, to education, to government itself—is accomplishing much more than just enlarging government, redistributing wealth, and de-Christianizing the culture. With the Left’s wild celebration of sexual anarchy, its intimidating culture of political correctness, and its incomprehension of the fundamental sacredness of human life, it is also, whether intentionally or not, promoting widespread dependency, debauchery, family breakdown, crime, corruption, addiction, despair, and suicide.
Surveying this growing chaos in American society, Kupelian exposes both the utopian revolutionaries and their extraordinary methods that have turned America’s most cherished values literally upside down—to the point that madness is celebrated and normality demonized.
I must admit this was a bittersweet book to read. With a sharp wit and even sharper pen author David Kupelian describes the good, bad and ugly of our ounce great nation’s current state of affairs. The first nine chapters lay it out in all its unvarnished glory:
1. Bizarro America 2. The Blur 3. Disinformation Age 4. Chaos Theory 5. Magic Words 6. Urban Warfare 7. The Real Zombie Apocalypse 8. Addict Nation 9. Gender Madness
Truly these chapters are an bitter and uncomfortable assessment and it if the book ended there it would be a tragic waste of time because problems without solutions and evil without the restrain of good offers little comfort and no hope.
Brilliantly, David Kupelian doesn’t just show the bad without the good. Woven into this book is an important message of hope. Hope first of all in the goodness of our Creator and the reconciliation He offers all mankind through the Messiah Yeshua. Second in reading this book you can’t help but get the sense that Mr. Kupelian has hope that his fellow believers and citizens will have the resolve to stand upon Judeo-Christian principles and be that light and salt to the world.
In closing let me say that if you read nothing else, read the final chapter of this book, Messiahs False and True. It was an eloquent and insightful explanation of the mystery of mankind’s existence and our hope in the love of our Creator, YHWH.
Until I read this book I could not understand why Obama would lead so many people to his progressive agenda, It seemed like insanity to me . David Kupelian has shown a light on a very dark side of America and the rest of the world. It brings to memory Genesis 3:15 , without the spirit of GOD to lead us satan would surely lead us to destruction. I highly recommend this book to anyone trying to understand this troubled world we live in.
When you know your Bible it is so easy to see how this slippery slope of accelerated sin and acceptance of perverse lifestyles has caused Americans to lose hope. Obama has accelerated the legalizing of sin and the persecution of Christians. It has never been more necessary for Christians to be in prayer and calling on God to help us restore sanity to this insane world we live in.
Excellent book. It is about how America has changed in the last 8 years. It is very insightful. It is a must read for those who really want to know what is going on in the country.
although I do not agree with some of the authors ideas, I absolutely respect and can see the validity of where he is coming from. an honest look at our society and American values as a whole, and the agenda of the current administration and left wing thinking of intentionally trying to fundamentally change not just america, but us as americans. everyone who claims to be a proud american should read this book
Kupelian as usual does a thorough check on facts before putting word to paper. My only disappointment was this book is 3 yrs old. The review I read led me to think this was a recent publishing. Obama was still occupying the Oval office when this was released. The SNAPPING OF AMERICA'S MIND is a real and present danger that see daily unfolding. So sad but when you study your Bible you find it has to happen. Be prepared!
What a powerful, eye-opening book on the condition of our nation and how we have gotten to the place we are at this point in time. It is definitely a book to read with an open mind, willing to recognize lies we have been dealt by politicians and the media. A must read for all American citizens who love their country.
A deeper look into how ideology has driven America to the point it now finds itself. I recommend this book for those who would desire to see a reversal in the current direction of our country and culture.
Excellent book on what's wrong with America an what needs to be done to fix it. Much to Hillary Clinton's chagrin, what's right with America will indeed fix what's wrong. And people and politicians like her are what is wrong with America
I am a libertario-conservative, and I still think this book sucked. Pretty sure most of the 4- and 5-star reviewers were either the choir that Kupelian was preaching to or never read the book themselves. (Probably the latter, given the non-specificity in the reviews.)
I read at least the first few pages of almost all of the chapters and it was all the same. Preaching to the choir about cultural marxism and secularism and how Obama was brought in by the left because he was sympathetic to socialism and globalism and the interests of Sharia Islam, all of which run counter to America's traditional values. It was not written in a way to be persuasive or to change anyone's point of view, but to fortify the views of those who already agreed with the author.
