Modern romance comedy. Eva and her boyfriend win a wedding on a reality TV show, then he dumps her live on air, whereupon she vows to get married anyway, doesn't care who to. The network immediately creates her a live dating show to audition prospective grooms but in the meantime Eva and the network's owner's son/journo/producer strike up a definitely-sex-only relationship.

It's a great premise--I wish I could say implausible, but given reality TV it's probably nothing of the sort. The sense of being caught in the wheels of the publicity/SM/corporate machine for both MCs was strong. Eva is a very relatable heroine--the book starts with her kneeing the hero in the balls, deservedly, and I am always here for that--with a temper and a facade she tries to maintain at all costs and a dogged unwillingness to look facts or emotions in the face which was extremely relatable. I did feel it needed a stronger edit, in that a lot of the action takes place in the characters' heads as internal fretting thoughts, and that pretty much always leads to a feeling of repetition and stuckness. Whereas the scenes between the MCs, going from bristling and sniping to developing feelings, are terrific fun. Also, what a glorious title and cover, genius stuff.

Contemporary romance. Diverse.
Eva Ward was dumped on national TV. Because the lavish wedding had been a contest win, Eva now finds herself as the bachelorette on a reality show. Producer Aiden has no problem imaging himself with Eva and doesn’t like the variety of dates Eva must go on to keep the wedding on the calendar.

I liked that the author specifically addressed wanting the dates to be real and not set up just for TV. I liked that Aiden kept the damaging recording to himself. But I didn’t feel the chemistry between these two and the pace and repetitive inner dialog was distracting and monotonous.

DNF at 63%.

Awful writing. Truly, horrendous prose. This 'author' desperately needs to take writing classes. At the very least, she should learn how to avoid repetition and the means by which she can increase her woefully limited vocabulary.

The narrator, Diana Luke, would do well to develop a wider range in her voices since every character sounded remarkably similar. Her 'blaccent ' was also quite grating. Was it necessary to render the Black women stereotypes by dint of her performance?

I've liked this author's work in the past, but I had a hard time connecting to this one and I can't quite put my finger on why. The set-up is great and even though the comedy kicks off with the heroine being humiliated on national TV, something inside of her snaps and she goes into full-blown All Out Of F*cks mode. Which, I LOVE that.

But even with the dynamite opening chapter, it takes a while for the story to get moving. There's too much internal monologuing. Too much time spent inside the characters' heads. There needed to be a lot more "action sequences" - like towards the end of the book which is breathlessly paced. The dialogue is great between the hero and heroine, so when the reader gets long stretches of internal musings it bogs down the pacing. I kept rewriting this in my head as category romance length.

I did like the main couple, and even though I can barely tolerate watching reality TV in real life, there's something about them as a setting in romances that I dig. It's a fun premise, a frothy read, and frankly would make a dynamite romantic comedy for the small or big screen. Jackson's agent should get moving on trying to sell the film rights.

Good, not great, YMMV.

Insert Groom Here was a well written contemporary romance with a strong female that I loved! Eva's story started out with heartbreak on Nation television and then we follow her on a whirlwind journey to find a new groom with the help of Aidan and a ton of tv cameras. I loved Eva and Aidan's first run in! I felt bad for Aidan, but I can't fault Eva for being overly emotionally charged after what she had went through. I also enjoyed the reality tv show spin that this book had. All of those dates and cringey scenes had me wondering how people actually put themselves through all of that while also on tv. Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book in the series!

Really enjoyed this book. It was my first by her, but won't be my last. I liked the feisty Eva and the uber-sexy Aidan. I enjoyed the reality TV plot, and I found myself laughing out loud several times. It was a fun book!

Insert Groom Here has been one of a favorite contemporary Romance book and has a Female lead that I have loved reading about Eva Ward's story starts off with her heart getting broken on National Television for the whole world to see. She then gets a show kinda like a reality show for her to find the perfect groom to marry. I felt so bad for Aiden when he first met Eva.But I loved his and eva chemistry from the very beginning. Adian and eva were only fooling themselves when it came to them not having feeling for each other. I loved how everytime Carter would ruffle Adian feather by saying something about Eva only to confirm what Carter and everyone else could already see that they were falling for each other. I enjoyed so much about this book. I enjoyed reading about the reality show spin they had in this book. I was very happy with the ending of this book and I am ready to dive into the next book in this series.

I really liked the heroine in this, but struggled a bit with the relationship between the hero and heroine. Their dynamic isn't necessarily one I prefer in romance couples. I could also have done with a bit less internal monologuing? It often seemed like there were just pages of thought and it felt overwhelming.

I almost skipped this one because there were more than a few reviews that made it sound just horrendous, but I’m glad I went with it - it was easier to do since my sister read it and had positive things to say. The book had a fun premise and I enjoyed the reality tv behind-the-scenes view. I thought it was well-written and kept me engaged. The audiobook narration was good as well.

I enjoyed this one. It fully embraced the tropes with a bit of a twist, and that's exactly what I was hoping for. The MCs had great chemistry and a satisfying arc. It was fluffy with some heavier notes and a bunch of hotness, and felt pretty well balanced between those things. It goes on my comfort rereads list. I especially liked the heroine, and how complex she was, all the layers of her armor, emotions and motivations. The pace really worked for me, kept moving me forward through the story.

The core plot is about saving face after public humiliation and dealing with the emotional manipulation that often comes with being on a reality show. Its also about hiding who you are, and the vulnerability of being seen, really seen, by a lover for the first time. It was the last aspect that I particularly enjoyed in this story.

This was such a cute wedding romance! It was such a fun twist on the Bachelor franchise. It could have veered into Over The Top territory but the characters and their rich emotional experience kept it rooted in reality. I adored Eva and Aidan together. Looking forward to the next book in this series!

This story was so much fun! Unique concept and spin on a modern-day marriage of convenience. The ending 100% leaves you wanting more in a really great, intriguing way. The dynamic between Eva and Aidan unfolds beautifully throughout the story!

The title was intriguing and I've seen the author recommended several times. Unfortunately the premise of the story was based on reality tv which I don't care for. I also found it hard to connect with the MC's. At times the story moved along quite well and then other times it just fell flat for me. Overall, I can totally see why people are enjoying the book, it just wasn't for me.

Eva is a strong woman who is dumped on live tv. She then goes on a series of dates to find a new groom before her tv wedding. I did like that the dates she went on seemed real instead of the reality tv dates.

I found the relationship that Eva has with the producer, Aiden, interesting.

I cannot imagine being dumped before my wedding much less being dumped bye my long-term boyfriend (fiancé) just before a reality wedding and then to have it done on national television that cannot be good. That is the premise of this love story. I enjoyed the flow of the story it all seems very reasonable to me hopefully there’s a part two because I’m ready to read it.

Disclaimer: received an ARC of this book. You know the drill...
Now this was an okish read that could have been real good but kinda missed the (my) mark. The premise was fun and original, and the characters interesting, but it got a little too much stereotypical tropes/plots for me to fully enjoy it. The most annoying one is yet another instantaneous lust/attraction that happened even before Eva saw Aidan face and that had me lire "Seriously??? Are you SERIOUS right now????". And the next second she did that thing, right after her meltdown that had me rolling my eyes and pretty much giving up expecting much from the story. It didn't turned out too bad, fortunately, but still...The repetitive writing got sighing with mild annoyance : like how many times do I have to read about Eva's lean/long/slim/fit body? O get it she's hot and perfect, now can we move on, please and thanks. Then there was the constant questioning both characters keep having with themselves; then the cliched "dates from hell" that of course could work; and then the anti-climatic weeding thing. Throughout it all I kept being somewhat interested in the story/characters, wishing the writing was a bit tighter and less predictable. I especially would have liked to read more about Eva and her mother, have them interact a little bit more. Cori was cool, but seeing how important Eva and her mother's relationship was, it is a shame this wasn't a bit more explored. Same for Aidan and his parents...The ending was the most unsatisfying, feeling rushed and a bit of a let down, especially with how it ended with the groom. So yeah, it was ok but could have been way better. .

I had the hardest time getting into this book. Right from the beginning I didn't easily engage because I have a hard time with humiliation mined for humor. And that is how the book starts. With Eva being dumped on national tv by her fiance after winning a wedding competition and then having her meltdown caught on film by a network camera man. I felt sympathy for her. But that sympathy only lasts through the starting chapters.

I the end, I give this three stars because as a romance novel goes it ticks off all the check boxes. It has a pair of attractive protagonists, it has conflict and it has a happy ending. It is also a nice enough book and easy to read. But on the whole nothing really elevated the book beyond 'fine.' I think it came down to the fact that I had a really hard time becoming emotionally invested in Eva and Aiden. Instead of fully realized characters they felt like plot tropes. They are pitched into each other's company under contrived circumstances and they bicker quite a bit. So nothing unusual for a romance novel.

The plot had a lot of potential and I think the author did a good job with creating the type of atmosphere surrounding a reality show as well as all of the modern social media that goes into it. But that couldn't sustain an entire story where I really wanted to feel the chemistry between the two main characters.

This was a fun read. I enjoyed the banter between Aidan and Eva, and i'm looking forward to the other books featuring Aidan's friends. Although I'm hoping Cori gets her own book at some point too? She really was a true friend to Eva and even though we didnt see her much on page, i loved her character.

Now some things did irk me. Several times we get Aidan describing Eva's skin tone: caramel, cinnamon, mocha, maple??? these are all things that are pretty different in colour . So this was a bit confusing.

Also, we never really know what ethnicity Aidan is although i just assumed the entire time he was a MOC. He even describes him and his friends as "three young minority men growing up in the big city" yet it was all left pretty ambiguous. Eva at one point describes Aidan's skin as "a burnished tan, mostly natural, though some, she could tell, came from being outdoors in the sun," so i didnt read him as white but we're just left guessing. would've loved it to be explicitly stated.

So apart from that i liked how the relationship between A & E slowly grew. And omg all those dates Eva went on for the show, hilarious.

Looking forward to the other books in this series.

***I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review***

It probably comes as no surprise to many people that I like books about reality shows. It's why I asked to read this one.

The book was fun. The main characters had great chemistry, and while I didn't 100% buy the meet cute, it was certainly unusual. The author did a great job making the reader feel for Eva immediately; I found myself rooting for her from page 1. The book moves quickly, and the sex is hot. Would definitely recommend this book to others, and I'll absolutely read more books by Jackson.

Super-cute, loved this book and it's "get married on a tv morning show DISASTER" first scene. Loved the meet cute where freshly dumped Eva is decompressing in the green room when show producer Aidan shows up with a film crew. That doesn't go well. And is hilarious.

I love Eva, her mission to put a positive spin on this public humiliation, and her pressure to be a force in public for the sake her of PR firm and her mother. You go, girl, steer the narrative. Don't let anyone else write your ending for you.

Then there's Aidan. This is my first book from this author, and I picked it up knowing it was the first in this series. But, I felt like there was a lot of backstory about Aidan, his failed mission in a foreign country, the woman he'd dated and endangered there. Was that from another book in another series? I'm not sure, but this story was a little bogged down in the weight of all that backstory, as it seemed to come out in huge doses that made me think I was reading a recap of a full other novel.

I liked Aidan well enough, but what I liked more was Eva and her terrible dates with all the dating show contestants, vying to be her replacement groom. I'll admit, I love reality show. The cheesier the better. And, find a replacement groom for Eva in 60 days was an awesome premise. I was on board.

And those terrible dates she went on, thinking about Aidan, and watching for him watching her from the sidelines and through the video clips, that was compelling.

I'll definitely read more from this author.

Marriage for the two involved and no one else!

Our lovely and successful Eva an Ad Executive and her intended Kevin an attorney who just recently passed the bar entered an on air dating contest for publicity that went horribly wrong when unbeknownst to Eva Kevin and the original producer Carter engineered their on air breakup or truthfully Kevin unceremoniously dumping Eva on air. Into the fray walks sexy bad boy, station owner's son Aidan who captures Eva at one of her worst moments, gets kissed by her and an attack of his nads in the process. Yep both Eva and Aidan fall for each other but cloak it in some late night trysts until they come to the point of no return, admit their feelings and our Eva gives Kevin what he should have gotten when he initially came back with an apology and an agenda. I so loved how Eva handled the conclusion of her on air resolve to find a groom by dealing with Kevin the way she did in the end. You have got to read this book it will make you mad, make you glad, make you cry and make you fall in love with our hero and heroine Aidan and Eva! I enjoyed this story very much.

Eva won the lavish wedding of a lifetime, but the to-be groom decides its the right time to break off the engagement to her on live television. She takes it like any woman would. Okay maybe she goes just a bit too far. She has her say and storms off. Never anticipating being filmed during her tirade
in the green room. Cameraman Aidan Walker gets every huff and puff of her breakdown. She gets him good. She give him a kiss he will not forget anytime soon or later. Then she gets him even better. That he wont forget either. Eva plays the game and do the rounds. She's on the hunt for the groom to-be for her televised wedding. Never expecting for history to repeat itself.

Eva finds common ground with Aidan. Things just move forward from there but there was so much more to this one. I liked this read. I was pulled in by all the extra that went along with both Aidan and Eva. There was so much to them both.

- I'm so glad that's finally over. Staring at the screen and wondering how much of this was left (I KNOW I CAN SEE PERCENTAGES IT WAS STILL TIRING) was getting exhausting.
- Don't get me wrong- this was an excellent premise and there were a few scenes (the way it started, the dates from hell) I liked. But most of Eva and Aidan's chemistry was sexual, which is... meh. If I wanted that, I'd read erotica.
- Part of the problem is the constant "kitten" and "princess"- there are some nicknames which make me roll my eyes but stay on, but both of these fall squarely into "nope I'm outta here" category.
- There's also a lot of lowkey "womyn, amirite?" and "men, amirite?" going on in the subtext. And while the usage of masculine and feminine as adjectives was pretty restrained it was still there. //grumbles
- So anyway, most of the problems I have with this book stem from it being aggressively Not My Type. That said, the premise was definitely interesting.

Fun and funny and sometimes more emotional than I was really prepared for, among the jokes and fluff. I love Jackson's voice, if not the mechanics of her writing... there are some repetitive bits and copyediting issues here and there, but just as in reading Bounce they didn't bug me for long before just enjoying the ride kicked in. In this one, though, I felt like there was way too much telling-not-showing about our hero; apparently he was a playboy who was with a different woman every night before meeting Eva, but that just feels so out of character I can't help but see it as a Romance Hero Trope that needed checking off. Same with his tense relationship with his dad; the conflict felt so forced. That kind of thing was so much better developed on Eva's side; she was such a believable "ice princess" carefully crafting her own image right up til the delightful last scene.

Insert Groom Here by K.M. Jackson is an exciting contemporary novel. One woman wins a wedding package, only for her fiancée to leave her. Devastated Eva Ward reacts like any other bride to be would react. However, unlike most, hers is caught on camera for all to see. Then, to add to her troubles, she has been given another opportunity. Find a new groom in a month...as Eva Ward goes through the process she cant help to notice the cameraman, Aidan. Something between sizzles and Eva will have to ignore him or ignore the show and their craziness. But what if Aidan isn't the one...then, that leaves Eva stuck in a rut. Funny, crazy, and sweet. This was one entertaining romance from beginning to end. Overall, I recommend it to readers everywhere.

I got this, copy from the publisher. This, is my voluntary review.
