This one just doesn't hang together very well. The three plot threads are tatty and don't make a complete garment. One of those threads is a misogynistic stalker creep who gets horny from the thought of violence and I can't stand to read that sort f thing.

This is book 6 in a series apparently. I haven’t read the others so I didn’t have much context but I enjoyed it plenty. Maybe I’ll go look for the others now.

The creepy guy threading through the whole book made my skin crawl. That’s why I gave it three stars. Hope I like the next one better.

Problematic. Sympathetic characters but repetitious and slow moving.

Marti McAlister is an interesting detective serving Lincoln Prairie IL. Her personal life has gotten more fun too, what with her engagement to Ben and the growing menagerie in her home. This tale has several interesting and unusual threads from the silly to the deeply disturbing and sad. What a fascinating series!
