Hunter is everything I'd always been warned against. He's the man they always told me to steer clear of. And he's the man I want more than anything I ever saw in my life. I don't care if he's trouble. I don't care if he swears more than a sailor. Everyone can get used to it. Because no one tells me who to love.

Hunter
My name is Hunter, and when it comes to my woman, I don’t play around. I feel her. I protect her. I love her ferociously.
Some people say I go too far. They think I deserve to be locked up. I’m not a reasonable man. I’ve got more blood on my hands than you’ve ever seen. And I'll tell you right now, I would kill for my woman. Isn't that what true love means?

Am I an animal? Am I a monster? Sure.

But Kelly changed me. She tapped into something deep inside me. I live for her now. She’s the one I protect. She’s the one I kill for. Most men don't know what it means to be willing to die for their woman. I'm here to show them.
My name is Hunter, and if anyone ever threatens Kelly, if they even think about it, I will hunt them down, and I will kill them.

This is a full length romance novel with a happy ending and lots of surprise bonus content.

I made it to chapter 31, which is still the same fucking day we started the book with BTW and not a damn thing of any interest happens here other than one sex scene with no protection between two people who barely know each other's names.

Characters suck ass. It's a load of useless mental chatter with no plot & little dialogue.

I have no clue how to rate this book. The content is really fucked up! Problem is I was sucked in and could not put it down! The writing was better than the last book (improvement is good) and the book moved fast.

Lots of violence, murder and mayhem. Boozing, smoking and every other word is fuck. Ok the fuck thing is probably legit. My hubby is from the Boston area and tends to fall back into that when he returns home.

The Hero had about zero redeeming qualities. He smokes like a chimney (pet peeve of mine) and drinks Jack like it is his last day on earth. Drives drunk, no seatbelt (well that may be a favor to mankind), smoke and curses in front of the kid, oh and he likes to kill people. He is probably the most anti of anti heroes.

Kelly is sweet but beat down by life. Not TSTL but yet has to be because who falls for a man like that?! Otherwise I found her a bit too meek and wanted her to help Hunter fight the bad guys. But alas she proved herself to be helpless. Sigh.

I know my GR buddies will think I am crazy, but I had a good time reading this. I had zero attachment to the hero but was happy he found a family to love that would love his psycopathic self. But I do not see many of my GR buddies enjoying this one. It will offend most of you about 100 different ways. But at least there are not OW/OM around!

I was not even angry about him totally corrupting Kelly and her 10 year old brother because this was so crazy I could not develop any emotions like outrage or sadness.

I know my star rating is not representative of the quality. But it is based on my enjoyment.

If I had a nickel for each time the word fu*k was used by Hunter... I I would be a rich rich person!! So the story is about a hitman Hunter whose heart changed one day while doing his job and he ran away to another town with money that belonged to his mob boss Hunters Adoptive father! After stealing all this money he knew he was a wanted man so he bounced around from city to city basically living off of that money he stole one day happens to put down steaks in a very small town as a auto mechanic. All was going well until he met Kelly. Kelly is the local waitress at the greasy spoon in town. Kelly is a very innocent young Woman however Hunter is definitely is not innocent. I really enjoyed the mom journey of Hunter and Kelly but it was really improbable this entire story takes place in the matter of 48 hours give or take an hour to and so many things happened. What I like about the story was Hunter didn't take any shit from anybody at any time he would end you are right where you stood if you pissed them off. Believe me he was easily pissed off often. Hey Ray I'm sure you will love the story Hunter is a real bad boy character no doubt. I personally would not like to see him in a dark alley. When is pissed off Lol.

DNF. Too much repetitive inner monologue not enough dialogue. 30% into the book and a day hasn't even gone by yet in the book. No relationship or character development just a ton of push & pull between the H/h. Hero also behaved horrible towards the heroine. He meets her, sleeps with her, and then immediately gets dressed and leaves her sitting on her kitchen floor. He also repeatedly disrespected her and spoke to her like she was trash.

"Just because I fucked that sweet little pussy earlier doesn’t mean you get to run that pretty mouth. Just because I stopped two fucks from grabbing you at the diner, and pulled your ass off the street tonight, doesn’t mean I won’t kick you out of this fucking truck and leave you sitting on the ground. I did it once and I’ll fucking do it again. You fucking know it. So, when I tell you to do something, you fucking do it. Are we fucking clear?”

Oh yeah. A chauvinistic piece of trash is exactly the type of romance hero girls dream of...said no one ever.

I was liking this book up until the episode on the farm. I was all, Go Hunter, Go Hunter, knowing he'd take anybody that messed with what's his, out. Sorry to say that Lucas, the 10 year old kid ended up being the true hero in this story. That sucks so bad because I was all down with Hunter's antiheroness up until that point.

Kelly froze over every freaking thing. Well she did get mad once and threw some keys, but it was only after she was done freezing. Most of the dialog in this book takes place in the MC's heads; I was kind of getting annoyed.

This was not a bad book but some of it was a tad confusing. Why would you not keep an eye on a child when you know bad men are after you? Why would you talk so much trash about how you'll kill somebody if they mess with you and yours but when it comes down to it, you're caught off guard and screaming like the biggest WUSS ever.

And, what's with females begging to be screwed? Is that a new thing now? It takes all the fun out of the story and makes me feel embarrassed. My kind of sexy is more like, Tarzan holds Jane's hands securely above her head as he plunge balls deep..... The hero's thinking, She may not be prepared all they way, but she'll get there eventually. Hey, at least he lets Jane come with him. Now she has a reason for it to hurt when she walks.

I did really like this book, just not the ending and not the crud friend who spat in the corner inside Hunter's apartment. That's just Nasty!

Heart of the Hunter
By Chance Carter

An ARC was given to me for an honest review.

Hunter has fled Boston, leaving the Donnelly Clan & his hired gun job behind…… Hunter has no problem killing certain people. There are degrees to his actions. He only kills people who are the lowest of the low. Hunter just refuses to put Women & Children on that list… Hunter is lying low in Stone Peak, Montana, taking a job as an auto mechanic… Hunter knows they are looking for him & he shouldn’t get involved with Kelly.. but for some reason Hunter can’t seem to stay away, Hunter is draw to Kelly

Kelly we meet her in Elle book, & now that Elle has found A man who loves, respect, worship the ground she walks on & protect her. Kelly dreams of finding someone like that for herself. Kelly has had hard life living in a this small backward town in Montana… For the last 7 years she worked & supported her & her Lil brother by working as a waitress in the town's only diner. So when she seen Hunter walk into the diner cover in grease & trying sweet talk her, she knew she was in trouble… Kelly can tell hunter was acting for some reason , but Kelly can’t stop thinking of him.

FIVE BLISTERING BAD BOY STARS!

"You're mine forever."

Wow. Just wow!! HEART OF THE HUNTER hooked me from page one and to say it was enthralling is putting it mildly. This is the first indie romance I have read penned exclusively by a "dude"…and Chance Carter nailed it!

This is a story of primal love at first sight featuring a bad to the bone hired gun on the lam who finds the girl of his dreams after swooping into her rescue. He’s been trying to lay low while holing up in the small sleepy town of Stone Peak, Montana, but fate apparently had other plans. And once he sets eyes on the blond haired waitress in distress with the beautiful smile, there was no turning back. Kelly was HIS. His to love. His to claim. His to protect. But wherever Hunter goes, danger and mayhem are not far behind, and it’s only a matter of time before the sins of his past catch up with him. And the day of reckoning WAS coming. But he was determined to be the last man standing.

This book is very visceral and gritty and incredibly palpable. This was definitely the kind of story I could not put down. There is a raw authenticity to Mr. Carter’s writing that is very provocative, and reading a romance from a male perspective was very enlightening. And while sometimes I think it is tough to pull off insta-love stories without sufficient buildup, in this instance I think it pretty much worked because of the sheer power of the connection between the hero and heroine. I saw it. Felt it. Believed with every fiber of my being that Hunter would fight to the death before he allowed anyone to harm a hair on his beloved Kelly's head. And there was never a dull moment with plenty of searing tension and a plethora of twists and turns. And the end ?? What a shocker! Still trying to wrap my brain around it.

Hunter is the ultimate bad boy...tough, lethal, feral and oh so deliciously tortured to the core. I also got a kick out of his sarcastic inner conversations with himself which showed the inner recesses of this dude’s dark, twisted mind! But even though an Uber Alpha like Hunter commands respect, and refuses to bend to ANYONE’S will --especially his woman’s--there is a gruff tenderness to him that I found endearing. It not only softens his harsh edges but made me root for him to get—and keep!--the girl! Oh and the way he loves Kelly is swoon worthy. Wouldn’t we all give anything to be loved that way? With such brutal intensity it makes us weak in the knees.

And Kelly loves him right back. There is a sweet, starry-eyed naiveté to her that I found infectious, but make no mistake. That girl gives as good as she gets. She js has fire and spunk too and the sparks between her and Hunter lit up every single scene!

Speaking of sparks...the sex scenes are blistering, blazing hot! If you like reading erotic romance that’s rough, fierce, and deliciously dirty...this book will NOT disappoint! But I also appreciated the undercurrent of poignant emotion weaved throughout so it was clear that their physical interactions were the culmination of an all-consuming love that defies all reason.

I loved every moment of this book. My only quibble is the ending kind of left me hanging and I want MORE! I would have liked an epilogue showing what the future holds for Hunter, Kelly and her little brother Lucas. Without it, it felt more like an HFN then an HEA. But hopefully this is not the last we have seen of them and perhaps even a sequel is in the works...

Bottom line? HEART OF THE HUNTER is a thrilling adrenaline pumping romance!! I can’t believe this is only Mr. Chance’s fourth romance. This dude has writing chops galore and a gift for penning gritty, gutwrenching love stories that leaves you breathless!! I will definitely be checking out his other bad boy books and know this an author to watch!

Great read! I am fast becoming a fan of Chance Carter. His Bad Boy Series is a favorite. This one in particular struck something in me.

Bad Boy Hunter is one of the toughest dudes in the Boston underworld until he gets a twinge of remorse and kills his trainee to prevent him from killing an innocent woman and her son. He knows his days are numbered by the boss for this betrayal so he takes off with a hefty stash of money.

Ending up in a the "Mayberry" of Montana, he settles in as a mechanic, gaining employment in the local garage. When he stops in with his boss at the only diner in town his life change because of her.

Kelly is the typical small town girl who dreamed of leaving the first chance she got, but her life changed when her parents died in a car accident, leaving her to fend for herself and her little brother Luke.

Kelly's beauty is enough to make Hunter forget his rules. They have instant chemistry as fate has drawn them together. Of course they get it in the first day they meet after Hunter annihilates two wanna be rogues who try to sexually assault Kelly.

They fall hard and fast for each other, Hunter claiming her as his own. Two days later his past shows up to even the score.

Now I won't ruin it for you, but I will say that Hunter is a bad man! I love how honest and straight forward he is with Kelly. No sugar coating anything. He earned my respect for that. She knew what she was getting herself into and didn't care about the danger. They really belonged together. He even took to her 10 year old brother.

A love story on the edge.

This was the fourth in Chance Carters series. All have been great stories of bad boys and good girls. At first, I had a hard time wrapping my brain around the way Hunter treated Kelly. The way he spoke to her put me off some, until I got further into the story. I realized that not only was he trying to. E honest with her about who he really was, but he was also trying to warn her away. He wanted her, she wanted him, but he knew he was going to rain down the rate of hell on her life and he was trying to spare her what was coming. It didn't matter, because in the end, they just knew they belonged to each other. Kelly saw what he was about. She knew logically she should run the other way. He was six different ways of bad and twice over wrong for her, but,.. the heart wants what the heart wants. It's as simple as that. There's a lot of violence surrounding Hunters life. He accepts that just the way it is, but vows to keep Kelly, her little brother Lucas, and Kelly's friend Grace safe. They are his people now and nothing will harm them as long as he has a breath in his body. I have to say I tore through this story very quickly, as I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Even putting off some chores to finish, but I couldn't help it. I was totally pulled into the story. I'm looking forward to his next book. but I think I'll do a few chores first before I start this time, since there's a good chance I'll read straight through that one as well!

* ARC originally read March 2016
* reread September 5, 2016 in preparation for Princess and the Beast .

Heart of the Hunter is not my favorite Chance Carter book, but they can't all be "favorites," now can they?

What goes right...
I won't deny it, this author has a way of sizzling my insides. He writes a mad-driven, possessive, "I-wanna-breed-you" kind of alpha in an "oh-so-good" kind of way. I think of him along the Alexa Riley spectrum.
"He'd claimed me that afternoon. He'd taken me as his. Hunter wasn't gone, he wouldn't leave me, he would come for me. I could feel it in my bones."

Another thing I think Chance Carter gets right is all the “just right” inclusions in the details. Here are some of my favorites:

I could see his forearms ripple underneath the tattoos as he leaned in. He spoke to Dennis, but he looked at me.

I walked over to her slowly and gave her a deep kiss. I felt her hands fall to her side and I reached down, grabbing the keys from her hand and breaking away.
“I drive,” I said. “Always.”

He paused for a second and then pulled out a cigarette and spit out the fresh gum.

His perfect abs, his muscular legs, the way his thick cock draped over his left thigh.

To you, reading them out of context, they seem like such simple inclusions, and they are… that’s precisely what I love about them. Simple inclusions that create a vivid overall picture.

Where it went wrong.
Drinking and driving is a HUGE turnoff for me. I know it's fiction, and I know that was a crucial flaw in keeping with Hunter's character, but it was a "nope" factor for me.

Similarly, Hunter was a ginormous fuckhead. Again, it was crucial in creating his character as a personality, but I didn't like him. The author did a good job with creating him, and with keeping him in character, but that doesn't mean I have to like the guy.

Dickhead factor= Example given: "...kick you out of this fucking truck and leave you sitting on the ground. I did it once and I'll fucking do it again. You fucking know it. So, when I tell you something, you fucking do it. Are we fucking clear?"
Seriously, ladies, he never really ever softens up either. He’s an unapologetic, “take me as I am” kind of guy, which I can respect; just be warned.

Insta-insta-what…
Insta-you-know-what. In a “blinks eyelids, BAM! I love you” kind of way. Some chicks dig that. Sometimes I do too. But for those of you who don’t… they swap the “I love you” on Day 2, maybe Day 3, but I’m pretty sure it’s Day 2. But, as I mentioned earlier, if you’re an Alexa Riley insta-love fan, then you’ll be all over Chance Carter, and I love me some Alexa Riley,so… *shrugs*.

I see stars…
3 stars from me because while I am a Chance Carter fan, it isn’t my favorite of his books, and I don’t think I'll be rereading this one.

**Received an ARC for an honest review**
Spoilers!
Out of the 4 books I've read from this author this would be my least favourite. I had to make myself finish it, so many times I put it down thinking... Nope cant do anymore! There was so much inner monologue without enough actual dialogue and it was very repetitive.
It was just way too much and sooooo over the top! I love an alpha bad boy as much as the next person but for me Hunter feel way short of earning that title, he just seemed bad to me sorry.
The way he treated Kelly made me want to shout "run for the hills, escape while you can!!!"
He was so disrespectful the way he treated her, I lost count of the times he called her bitch to himself oh and him saying that he just wants to rip her in two, WTF! The fact that he got so angry if she dared to question anything and made her feel afraid so often was ridiculous, that is not attractive and doesn't make him an alpha.
Kelly seemed like a different person in this one compared to her in the previous book, I know she wanted a man just like Elle found but Hunter was not it. Her shifts in opinion of him gave me whip lash and she certainly didn't put the safety of her brother as a priority. She came across as desperate and spineless. I guess that makes her perfect for Hunter.
Also what happened to his bestie, Deacon, I though he had his back no matter what but when it all went down he was no where to be seen???????
The book finishes with dead bodies everywhere and the 10 year old brother ready to kill anyone that comes for the family!!!! That's a bit scary sorry.

For the first time, I didn't fall in love with Chance Carter's male lead. Hunter was just too bad of a bad boy and I just couldn't get past his incessant swearing. I mean seriously, stop. Especially in front of a 10 year old child. I was happy that my prayers were answered in regards to the whole baby crazed fiasco and this relationship seems like it might have substance before the children. That was until I remembered they basically already have a child in Luke though. Oh and one more flaw in the plot was that Grace suddenly changed her tune. So she hates the guy when he's beating people but suddenly loved him when she wakes up surrounded by dead bodies. Meanwhile, they even go so far as to forget about her. I was literally screaming at Luke and her to remember Grace. What happened there. It seemed almost like a forgotten character which needed adding in again last minute. Crazy.

Hot and sexy

This was a solid 3.5 stars for me. Mr. Carter knows how to write panty melting sex scenes that's for sure. Hunter just left Boston and has landed in a small town where everything shuts down at night. Here he meets Kelly and the connection is instant. I don't mind insta love connections normally but this one felt forced to me. Hunter had a lot of inner head dialogue and the same for Kelly. Too much for my taste personally. This particular story of Carter's is not one of my favorites but I will still continue to read his stories.

Gritty story of Hunter, a killer on the run from his Boston based crime family. Hunter is laying low in a small Montana town. Hunter saves waitress Kelly from two obnoxious drunks by nearly beating them to death. He decides to claim Kelly even though his life is dangerous with trouble on the horizon. The two share incredibly hot chemistry and decide they must be together no matter what. Great storytelling with lots of heart and great characters.

I really wanted to like this, as the synopsis sounded right up my alley of books in this genre, but I couldn't even get through the 4th chapter. It definitely was just not my taste for these characters. I couldn't see myself ever liking any of them frankly.

NO WRITER GETS TO MY HEART LIKE "CHANCE CARTER".
FIRST FOUR BOOKS REVIEWED.
"CHANCE CARTER" writes from alternating "POV's", which I love. I'm especially interested in the man's "POV" because I love the PURITY of their UNFILTERED feelings. The TENDERNESS of their love. Their RAW, PRIMAL needs. Their need to POSSESS. Their need of "MINE"...(I could only wish!). And the POWER and INTENSITY of their love-making. Geez, I could really go on and on. I can't seem to write a "synopsis" type of review. I can't even write one with out my emotions and feelings getting in the way and making it too "personal". Whenever I AM MOVED enough to write a review I generally MESS IT UP with all those things. But, then again, that's what happens when I AM MOVED enough to write a review.
Actually, "CHANCE CARTER" surprised me, he came out of the gate at a full run and hasn't slowed down, yet. He seems to have the ability, to come in first, every time he puts his pen to paper. (What's the new version of that? FINGERS TO KEYBOARD?VOICE TO PC?) His books just keep getting better and better. His first and fourth books are my favorites. THEY ARE ALL AMAZING, THOUGH. I TRULY DO LOVE THEM ALL! The first because it's fresh style and heart breaking need of the hero caught me off guard. The fourth because he's kept the same freshness and display of need but, it's gotten a bit edgier, darker, deeper. I can't wait to see where he goes from here. I know he'll still keep his more "up beat" style of the first three books - we still have Grady and maybe even Sam from the "BROTHERHOOD" yet. But, I'd also, like to see a continuation and deepening of the fourth book's "style of writing". I really did like that darker style. And on that side, we've still got DEACON and LUCAS, at the least too. And, don't worry, every book (at least, so far) is a STANDALONE, NO CLIFFHANGERS - thank goodness. It's more helpful to read them in order as they all say, just so you know more about the background, but not at all necessary. And, don't forget, very "HEA'S" - EVERY ONE OF THEM.
Buy them...Read them…and, most of all, LOVE THEM!
YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED WITH A "CHANCE CARTER" ROMANCE.
"CHANCE CARTER'S" first book: "BAD BOY DADDY" absolutely BLEW ME AWAY! I have never felt so much power - and pain - when reading about a man's love as I did when reading about Jackson's love for Faith and everything he went through - for 12yrs - to keep both her and their child safe from any retribution or revenge that may come back on them because of Faith's "old" life. They had only had 2 short nights together. But in that tiny window of time they LOVED, and FELT, with such intensity that it kept them "together", kept them loyal, "bound" to each other, throughout out the next decade+ (12yrs) that they were separated. Lord, it was stunning to see all of that expressed so totally and completely in only those 2 nights. He (CC) has such a gift of expression. It was so fresh to read such an unmasked admission that men really do have FEELINGS and WANTS and NEEDS for LOVE and CLOSENESS and FAMILY - just as women do - if not more so. Just like men have been taught to ignore "those things" a lot of writers seem to ignore "those things" also - the man's side of the romance story. Not "CHANCE CARTER".
"CHANCE CARTER'S" 2nd book: "WIFE ME BAD BOY", was JUST AS AMAZING as the first. The yearning and aching Grant felt for Lacey was just wrenching my heart out. The feelings he (CHANCE CARTER) can not only imagine but also, put into words, just pull at me every time. Grant and Lacey avoided their attraction - for years (!!!) - thinking her (now, deceased) father wouldn't have taken kindly to Grant chasing after his daughter. Not after he had taken him under his wing and into his own home. Not after he'd given, and done, anything and everything he could for Grant, in seeing that he was provided every opportunity to learn, grow and develop into a worthy human being. A person that would make anyone feel privileged to say they knew him. To say that they knew they would be able to count on him for anything, at any time, if needed - just as Lacey had had to. I think, in the end, Lacey's father would've been proud to see Grant with his daughter. After all, it was he who had a hand in shaping him into the man he'd become. I think he would have liked to have known she would be well taken care of, looked after and loved. But, Lord what a book! I absolutely LOVED EVERY LAST WORD OF IT!
"CHANCE CARTER'S" third book: "MOST ELIGIBLE BABY DADDY" is JUST AS CAPTIVATING as the first two books. It's fast paced and fun to see Forrester's true character unfold. Gentle. Kind. DEADLY - if needed to be. I love that his (CC) heroes aren't afraid to express their true feelings and don't care who knows about them. The book starts off dark and ugly (really surprised me) for poor Elle. But,,,but,,,but,,,she gets it together real quick! No sappy or - TSTL - heroines here! It gets really lively...Gets really heavy...Gets really romantic...Gets it all! Kinda missed all the "family" a bit, though. Forrester's father died so he went back to his home town to take care of things. Instead of sunny California he's in the tiny town of Stone Peak, Montana. It may be his place of birth but, he does not consider his "blood father" his "family". That honor goes to the people who love and care for and about him - his "BROTHERHOOD" family - Jackson, Faith + Sam, Grant + Lacey, and Grady. I truly did enjoy this new little town which, of course, is where Forrester meets his Soul Mate. It was so fascinating to see how "CHANCE CARTER" developed Forrester's character into someone who could literally "reach out and touch someone" be it Pit Bull Dogs, town bullies or just Elle. Truly not what I had expected but so very right. He's truly a deadly Bad Boy with a gift and a gentleness about him. Yet, still needs the Fierce, Unchecked Passion and Connection with the one person that soothes his soul - Elle. I honestly love the way your mind works MR CARTER. This was another great book. Another great book that stays with you long after you've finished reading but, haven't finished FEELING it. Well done, indeed. Well felt, indeed.
"CHANCE CARTER'S" fourth book: "HEART OF THE HUNTER" started with a bang and ended with a bang! And, I do mean that, LITERALLY.
Never slowed in the middle. Never let up one bit. This book was a little darker, a little grittier, than the first three "CHANCE CARTER" has written. But, it's also the first one not totally focusing on the "BROTHERHOOD" family in California although, they are still in the background. HUNTER is an altogether new character who picks up in Stone Peak, Montana after Forrester and Elle have left. God, this was really fun! I really enjoyed the grittier theme, the edgier sex and OH MY, what a MASTERFUL STROKE of GENIUS with LUCAS' character! Just my style!
HUNTER is a SERIOUSLY BAD BOY. He's a hit man for the Donnelly mob in Boston, Massachusetts. "Donnelly" being his Last name but, Not his Blood name. He considers the definition of family the same as Forrester does. People who love and care for and about you. The big finish takes place at Forrester's "inherited" cabin, that's further up in the mountains away from the town. Even though HUNTER has decided to take the cabin over as his, none of "them" have yet to make the connection to Forrester…yet. Wait till you read why HUNTER considers it up for bids! I'D GUESS that's where MR CARTER will start to make connections, in further books, to the "BROTHERHOOD" family. I'D GUESS better than I'D ASSUME? Wouldn't want to "Make an Ass Out of You and Me", right?
LUCAS' quote at the end of the book THRILLED ME:
“If they come back, we kill them. We kill them all. We protect our family.”
(This from a 10yr old. God, CHANCE, you're good!)
I was gifted a copy of these books from the author, "CHANCE CARTER", in exchange for an honest review. All comments are obviously my own (nobody else would sound so stupid) plus, I was obviously not compensated for this review (as if anyone would actually pay me for this).

Heart of The Hunter

The Naughty Boy series by Chance Carter is so good, this is the second time I am reading it. These book's are not stand alone book's. The characters are well thought out. You fall so in love not only with the main character's but the secondary characters too. Most of the dynamic secondary characters end up as leads in the next book. I love series written this way.

The men in these series are of course, off the charts, Alpha males. The female leads are not the run of the mill women. They are strong, vibrant, independent, women. I enjoy reading Chance's book's because the characters are really well thought out and no two are a like.

Each book entails a story about deep abiding love between the the two main character's; and the lengths these strong Alpha male's will go to, to find, protect, and keep their chosen mate. The sex is off the charts, but how couldn't it be given the author! Chance Carter is building quite the reputation for the hot love scenes he lays out. The love scenes are so nicely done that you can feel exactly what the characters feel.

I don't want to give too much away lest I ruin it for the new readers. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who wants a well written, well edited, off the charts love story. I might be a wee bit biased because I have read every book written by this author and loved them all. I find it curious and noteworthy the difference in how this male author set's himself apart from the crowd when writing a romance. If I had to choose one word to describe his skill set it would hands down be INTENSE. He most definitely knows h

Kinda dark, but well worth the read.

This book is grittier and dirtier than the first three Naughty Boy books, but it was very well written. The cadence and flow are also different, but at the same time the story feels a bit more polished. Hunter was a REAL bad guy with an epiphany and a force of nature; be it for bad or good. You really root for him to work his crap out successfully. I will say he smoked waaay too damn much and was just plain rude more than once with the smoke. That, much more than his previous (?) livelihood, kept me from really connecting with his character, but that is probably just me. Kelly was a bit submissive and timid for me. She seemed easily cowed at first but she quickly grew a backbone that I like to think kept on growing. I did love Lucas, Kelly's baby brother. That kid was pure gold. All in all it was a well presented story with characters I won't soon forget. In fact, I hope they get cameos in future books; I would like the odd glimpse back into their lives.

Okay I am not even sure where to start with this book. I should have hated it Hunter drinks and smokes way too much and doesn’t really treat anyone nicely but I found myself addicted to reading every little thing written and soaking it up like a sponge.

Hunter is on the run from the only family that he has ever known, for the first time in his life when on a hit for his father he did the right thing and spared the lives of a mother and child. So he took off, he finds himself in a little nowhere town working as a mechanic just waiting to be found because if there is one thing he is sure of its that he will be found eventually and all hell will break loose when he is. Meeting Kelly the little waitress from the diner is not what he was expecting or wanting but knows that now he has had her he will never want anyone else. She is his and her little brother is family and Hunter would die before anything happens to his family.

Kelly is a sweet waitress working as many hours as it takes to look after her little brother Lucas. They were orphaned years ago and the only other person looking out for them is Grace. Kelly didn’t even need to see Hunter to know that her life has changed just the timbre of his voice and she is his. She knows that she has met her future although it wasn’t one that she was expecting it’s the right one for her.

The breakfast scene with Hunter and Lucas definitely made me smile.

There is murder and mayhem a foot in story and lots of cursing with a violent but necessary end for some characters. But the love between Kelly and Hunter is pure. I enjoyed reading this book so much even though Hunter can only really be described as an anti-hero.

Chance Carter you did it again. Another great story about love!! Kelly is a young woman who lead a sheltered but difficult life. She loves fiercely & is raising her 10 year old brother. She thought she would never find a man who could be her forever!! Hunter, a man with a horrible past, but nothing was forbidden when it came to his life of crime. He would take anyone out if the job requirements called for it!! One night that all changed. Now he's the one on the run, never having been loved by his family, & then it all changed!!
Can an innocent girl & a man with blood on his hands find what they both need in each other?? How will 10 year old Lucas fit into this picture?? Does love conquer all?? For some they say it does!!

Crass, dirty and hot....that describes Hunter Connelly. He rolls into the sleepy mountain town and, trying hard to keep a low profile, turns dangerous when a waitress is groped in the local diner. No stranger to violence, Hunter puts them in the hospital.

Kelly doesn't know what to make of this dark, tattooed stranger who came to her rescue but after one completely hot sexual encounter, she is hooked.

Liked all these characters, except the gangsters after Hunter, one of whom is his adopted father. I know the crass, heavy drinking and smoking dude is appealing to some but it turned me off. Then again, he turned me on too! Go figure....

Yummy, yummy

So far this is my favorite book in the series. Kelly has given up a typical teenagers life to take care of her younger brother after their parents die. Hunter, who never knew his parents, was adopted by a crime family in Boston. He was always a lone wolf until he turned his back on the 'family" and did the right thing. On the run, he happens to stop in Montana, met Kelly, and changed their lives forever. You can feel the struggle Hunter goes through as he starts changing for the better. And there is lots of hot sex scenes.

Boston bad boy....Oh yeah!

Hunter is the ultimate hot,raw bad boy. I found myself laughing out loud at the conversations he has with himself while wanting to smack him at the same time. Kelly is a total sweetheart and it's her goodness as a person as well as her little brother that show Hunter what family is really about. Chance Carter is one of my all time favorite authors. He never disappoints!

Heart of the Hunter

Hunter, the Big bad boy from Boston was running away from his family of crime (mafia style), and ended up in Graces Diner. As soon as he started talking Kelly knew he was not just an ordinary man. And as soon as Kelly could get herself to actually look at him and into his eyes, she knew she was in for trouble. What kind? She would soon find out.
