Coming Clean

Rate this book
Mike Kelly is an environmental health professional, however this book is not a boring treatise on environmental health but instead is a wander through a career which was far from ordinary. It recalls places and events which ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous. From Africa through West London to a worldwide remit in an International Airline the memoirs encompass how Mike dealt with infectious diseases, African guerilla freedom fighters, leopards on the porch, delivering a baby during Sunday lunch, chickens and fleas in London suburbs, a food poisoning outbreak on a major airline, a body in an aircraft hold, rats and mice in aircraft, legal proceedings in the USA and much more. Sometimes funny, occasionally sad, perhaps unbelievable in parts, it gives an insight into work and life in the early days of a newly independent African country, a brief foray into Environmental Health work in a London Borough and the trials and tribulations of safely operating an international airline.
