HITMAN: AGENT 47 centers on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research-and forty-six earlier Agent clones-endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47's past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.
The artwork may be sketchy, but it's certainly visceral and brutal. You have kicks, punches, daggers and 47's signature garrote and Silverballers carving a path through opponents like a hot knife through butter. He's not getting the Silent Assassin rating on this one.
47 infiltrates the palace by flirting with the duchess. I thought he only did the dress-up, not the gigolo routine. From then on, nothing stands in his way. He gains information on what the Syndicate is attempting - to create an army of men with his skills.
I am not a game player, but I enjoy the action in the Hitman movies. I have them both on Blu-ray and have watched them both more than a couple of times.
Hmm. I was hoping since this was a prequel to the movie, it could stand on its own, since I haven't seen the film and don't really intend to watch it. But, this was in no way a "story", it was just a bunch of action scenes and no story. But, what I read was very well done, the action scenes carried out with precision and beautiful realism. I wasn't overly fond of the illustrations, as they lacked a little detail that I prefer, but I can see that it was necessary for the action scenes.
The premise of the comic is about as far away from Hitman as you can possibly get. There is no reason for the character to do what he does (no spoilers) other than the artist and storyteller wanting to add action. This is more akin to Terminator than Hitman.
I love me some Agent 47! Being a fan of the Hitman game series this was a must read for me. Though it's short it still delivers the mystery, action and assassins blood that only Agent 47 can give out. 4 stars and can't wait to see the movie.
I tried to watch the film and it made no sense. I was going through the Kindle comic section and saw this listed as free. After reading it I'm as confused as ever.
Maybe a 2.5; it is interesting in parts, but mainly it is overly dry and just too straight forward. Everyone just seems emotionless and the ending really leaves something to be desired.
