I have a personal bias on this book. That said, I found it interesting, if at times showing the cultural tone of that moment vs what we would say today. I was surprised at how the Christian devotion appeared to last generations. I also wonder if Emmett meant to have a light commentary on a (small) generational wealth. Very interesting read for me.
