Examines the life and career of the man who, with his thinking man's brand of basketball, boosted the Boston Celtics to the greatest single-season turnaround in NBA history, and revitalized not only his team but the entire NBA.
Larry Bird is one of the best players to ever play in the NBA. He played for the Boston Celtics in all of his years. Later in life he had to retire because of age, and back problems, ending a great player's career. Larry is now the GM for the Indiana Pacers.
Larry started and ended his career as a Boston Celtic, but before that he grew up in a small town in Indiana. The town was French Lick. He was just good enough to get out of the place and go to Indiana State University. There he developed into a icon. He was a fantastic player in college, leading his team to the national championship, only to get beat by Magic Johnson, and the Michigan State Spartans. When he was drafted by Boston he was a instant success in Boston. In Boston he won three NBA titles, and three MVP awards. Larry was also part of the "Dream Team," a superstar American olympic team.
Overall I think this book is a three star book. I would recommend this book to all basketball fans of all ages.
