I’ve loved Danny since I was five.
He’s loved me longer.
It seemed destined that we would be together, it seemed like the stars had aligned.
Then we grew up and life got in the way.
He’s stepping up to be president of the Motorcycle club we grew up in.
And I want no part in it.
I want to be free, to travel the world and experience life without violence.
He’s not willing to give up the club.
I’m not willing to be an old lady.
But giving him up is like losing a part of myself.
Love isn’t easy.
Life certainly never is.
The manacles he has wrapped around me will hold me to him.
No matter how hard I try to run.

I really enjoyed this one!

And to think that I almost DNF'd it. I was struggling during the first half of the book, the main reason being Her Majesty the Heroine. A spoiled, selfish, self-centered and extremely irritating brat.

The only thing that kept me going was an awesome hero and amazing secondary characters. And boy, am I glad I didn’t give up because the second half of the book was kick ass! In the end, it turned out to be the best book of the series.

The story itself is engaging, at times predictable as hell but it's so hot you won’t even care. There were a couple of things that made me roll my eyes but let’s not split hairs.

One thing is sure, Bella Jewel always creates off the charts explosive chemistry between the main characters.

If you've read any of the books in this series, then you know Skye and Danny are the non-couple of this group that can't get their shit together. From the first book their weird relationship had me intrigued and I've just been waiting to finally see them together and not just giving each other heated looks. But their journey definitely wasn't an easy one.

Skye grew up in the MC life, it's nothing new to her. But what is new is the fear of one day being hurt because of her connection to the club. After seeing her aunt break down over something that happened because of that very reason, she decides she can't take it anymore, she needs out. Even if it means leaving Danny behind and never knowing would could have been from their connection.

Bella Jewel took this simple story of a forbidden couple and somehow turned it into something much, much bigger. The book took twists and turns that I was not expecting it to and I loved that this author could still shock me with what happens in her books. I don't want to say exactly what happens because I think it will be a shock for some, but I can say that there was a lot that happened throughout the book and every second of it had me enthralled with these characters.

There was more of a familial feel to this book than there was in the last one, and I really enjoyed that. It was great to see how close the Club was and how they never gave up on one of their own, even when they were angry at each other. Every family has their issues, but the way this large family comes together despite those issues is something truly amazing to see.

I can't say Skye was my favorite character, because here were definitely times I wanted to shake her and tell her to stop being stupid. It was frustrating at times to see her being so obtuse about what she wanted and thinking that her way was the only way. But by the end I could think back on the book as a whole and understood the reasons behind her behavior. I liked that she kind of redeemed herself and it made for a great ending to the book.

Overall, I highly recommend not just this book but this author. Bella Jewel was one of the first MC authors that I read years ago, so I hold her partly responsible for the obsession I now have on bikers. So even if you don't think you like the MC genre I urge you to try this series and it may change your mind.

I have read a lot of Bella Jewel's biker books, but the "Next Generation" is my favorite series so far. Each book features a son or daughter from one of the couples of either the"Jokers Wrath" series or the "Hells Nights" series.

This time around we get a son and a daughter. It's Danny and Skye's turn.

Danny is the son of Spike and Ciara (Hell's Knights 2). He has grown up around the club and he has been groomed to take over as club president when the time comes. The club is his life and he can't wait. For him, running the club is a dream come true, it's who he is. There is just one other thing Danny really loves...and that's Skye.

10717863._SY540_.jpg (382×540):

Skye is Cade and Addy's daughter (Hell's Knights 1) She also grew up around the club and she and Danny have been best friends forever. Eventually their friendship grew into much more and now they have been sleeping together for years, without anyone else knowing.

a9c2c9cd48eb9ab2e261b10ef34ec9cf.jpg (236×332):

Danny is ready for more. He is about to become president of the club and he wants Skye as his old lady. He knows she loves him just as much as he loves her and he doesn't want to sneak around anymore. But Skye is about to leave the club.....

40824-Stay-With-Me.gif (500×243)

Skye doesn't want what Danny has to offer. She really does love him, but she wants away from the club. The last couple of years have scared the crap out of Skye and she convinced herself, that she wants a safe life outside the club. She doesn't want to get hurt but more important, she doesn't want her future children to get hurt, because of club-business. She has seen her aunt and her friend get hurt and this is not something she would want for her family. If only she could convince Danny to step down from the club.......But he won't.

" We want two different things, and neither of us is willing to give up on what we love."

tumblr_mn3z6uKWSH1srqr8so1_500.gif (499×277)

I have read a lot of reviews before I started this one and a lot of people seemed to dislike the heroine for her choices and for what she did. I, however, didn't have a lot of problems with the heroine, which is surprising, because I am usually very hard on them. I just kinda got where she was coming from. I have read in the previous books, what was happening to the daughters of all the members and I could understand why she was scared. Danny also knew she was scared and even though he promised her that he would keep her safe (which is a promise he couldn't make and couldn't keep), he also didn't offer her to step down. So why would she have to be the one to give in. Her heart was breaking just as much as his was...

So she goes...leaving Danny and the club behind.

Now saying that I understand where Skye was coming from, doesn't mean that she didn't make some stupid mistakes that had me frustrated......Especially her wishy-washy behavior drove me up the wall.

tumblr_olwb5s47791s7hhyjo1_500.gif (500×240)

She made up for it though and to be honest, Danny annoyed me a time or two too !!

These two really needed a lot of work getting their shit together, but all in all, this was one of my favorite books by Bella Jewel.

Probably, because there was a lot of club stuff going on and that meant a lot of interactions with all the other MC's I have come to know and love.

Once they got their shit in order, these two were pretty awesome together and quite hot !!

tumblr_my0eboREx11ss2tdro1_500.gif (500×211)

I hope we'll get more books in this series, because like I said...so far it's my favorite.

"You're who I am, Skye. Without you, none of this means a damned thing to me."

If you have been following the series you know that Danny and Skye's story is one that I have been dying to read; and now it's finally here!. Danny is the son of Spike another biker of the Original Sinners; Danny is supposed to follow his father's footsteps and become president of the club soon. He dreams nothing but to be in charge; that is the life and choice he has made and knew all along that it's what he wanted to do.

"We want two different things, and neither of us is willing to give up on what we love."

Skye is the daughter of Cade and Addy the first couple who started this journey of the Sinners series. I loved those two since the beginning and now we get to see the story of their daughter. Skye grew up in the club spoiled and protected; her and Danny had been best friends since little and it wasn't until their teens that they discovered a different type of attachment to each other. A new, mutual feeling of crush, love and soul mates. Skye however was scared and always tried to hide it and fight it. She didn't want their friendship to be ruined if their relationship didn't worked out.

"How can you hate me for wanting a life..., You're so pissed that I didn't choose you, but fuck, Danny, you didn't choose me either."

description

Danny would of done anything for Skye but she chose to leave everything and start a new life away from her family and love ones. Skye wanted to travel, discover the world away from danger. She however; did not expected to be so wrong her love was always right in front of her and she threw it away for something that she didn't realized she didn't want. Confusion and sadness and the thoughts of being in danger all the time made her chose a life that would never made her happy because she wasn't with the family who loved her more than anything.

description

When Skye realized what she wanted she found herself conflicted and alone. She had left her first love her soul mate who apparently had moved on. I will be honest I was pretty upset at both Skye and Danny. Skye for not giving Danny a chance; at Danny for not chasing her and making her stay with him and moving on too quickly. However; even though this bothered me a bit I still enjoyed their story. There was a blood scene that I was freaking the hell out had me a bit scared for a minute but overall this was a very enjoyable story. To all the reader following this series and all MC lovers will enjoy this fast read.

Drama, drama, drama. I hate angst, but I love to read it. Does that make any sense? Or I don't like it at all, but I like to kill myself.

Relationship, no-relationship of Skye and Danny extends from the first book. All the Sinners's kids are a great group of friends, but between the two has always been something more. We do not really know what was going on between them, but it was obvious that there are feelings. In this story we learn that for a long time they were friends with benefits. They have feelings for each other, but their desires and dreams of the future are entirely different. It stopped them from going further. And now she wants to go to explore the world, and he has had enough of this vicious circle.

“We want two different things , and neither of us is willing to give up on what we love.”

This is the most MC book in the series so far. Probably because the hero is so tied with the club and wants someday to become the president. And it is not a MC book when it comes to heroine who does not want to have anything in common with it. And hence the whole drama. Unfortunately, the heroine for me was completely unreasonable. She wants a different life, and therefore looking for a "better" love. But she is young so maybe it was her excuse. Although I love the hero, and it broke my heart that he had to go through it, on the other hand I do not think he do everything he could to prevent this situation. So all in all they deserve each other.

“I fucking hate you for saying that, you dick.”
“Well, I fuckin’ hate you for makin ’ me love you so damned hard I can’t breathe without you.”

The plot is probably a little confusing because this story begins a little from the middle of action and it takes some time to get it. It has a lot of angst but at the mere request of the characters. And you like it or hate it. What I have to admit is that it touches a lot of emotion. The chemistry between the characters is great and they have some smoking hot scenes.

“It’s because he’s not me, Skye. He’ll never fuck you the way I fucked you, and he’ll never, not fuckin’ ever, love you the way I love you.”

The worth mentioning is that the book has a fantastic ending and epilogue. If only because of it, is worth to survive all the tension, twists and lack of understanding between the characters. The ending is perfect, it melted my heart and it is so funny. Gang of MC Sinners grandparents are awesome! I love it. They are a great group of friends and family. It's worth to give a chance to this series, and certainly to the author.

It's probably my least favorite part, but nothing will stop me from reading the next. In particular, because it will be about Max and Kaylee, the daughter of Pippa and Tyke from Jokers' Wrath MC. Can't wait!

SMALL SPOILERS

Not a fan of the heroine, Skye in this one but I did like the Hero Danny!!

Skye was too back and forth for my liking, the fact she cheated on her boyfriend Preston with Danny probably bothered me most. I'm not a fan of cheating even if the leads cheat with each other.

Both move on, first Skye with Preston but we don't really see her happy, she's always thinking about Danny or wanting Danny. Danny also moves on but he seemed like he really was happy with his girlfriend Macy, he mentions it to Skye too that he's finally happy, she's good for him etc. etc. I REALLY did not want to hear about that, I would have rather she just been a fuck buddy, and she's the one that dumps him, so really the choice between Skye and Macy was kind of made for him.

Also, theres a random scene where Macy confronts Danny about how she didn't want to break up with him and hope he comes over for dinner so they can work out they relationship. After hearing all that Skye does start to doubt their relationship, saying how it was Danny who got dumped not Macy but NOTHING is done with that, she doesn't confront Danny about how she feels, Macy isn't brought up again, it was just a random scene that really added nothing to the story.

The book is completely in Skye's point of view, it would have been nice to hear from Danny.

Anyways, overall this isn't that great, maybe because of the back and forth shit Skye pulls when its clear Danny wants her and because Danny was clear very happy in his new relationship.

Manacle is book 3 in the MC Sinners Next Generation series and I loved it from beginning to end. In this one we have Danny who is Spikes son and Skye who is Cade's daughter. So to start let me say that I'm a sucker for childhood friends turned lovers and that is exactly what Danny and Skye are. This book had my emotions all over the place. I was both frustrated and heartbroken at the same time. I totally understood why Skye did what she did and while my heart ached when she was with Preston, I had no doubt that she would eventually find her way back. I loved Danny, he's loving and willing to give Skye the world and I understood his point by breaking off any connection with her and moving on. Their road back to each other was bumpy but it was a great ride. If your looking for a gritty MC romance this isn't it, but that's fine by me because I'm loving it and hopefully there will be more in this series.

I've got some serious mixed feelings about this book and it has everything to do with our leading lady Skye. Danny deserved more, SO MUCH MORE!! You can't convince me otherwise.

Skye has loved Danny since she was five, but she wants more out of life than to just be an "Old Lady" and stay in the same town she grew up in. She wants it all. Travel, the white picket fence, the two kids and the devoted husband. Danny has been her one true love all these years but they just want two different lives, so it is time for Skye to leave Danny even if it breaks her heart. The minute she leaves he is ever present in her mind and heart but with some time she thinks she will be able to get over him. Except that is impossible when trouble is at her every turn and he is the one that always rescues her.

Danny has loved Skye since he first held her hand and even after all these years that is never going to change. He knows that Skye wants more but if she could just trust him that he can give her those things in time then they could both have the life they have always wanted. Skye is a runner, and Danny knows that, so he lets her go. After a series of events keeps putting them face to face Danny realizes he can't do this back and forth any longer. He moves on and starts to build the life he wants even if it is without Skye. Apparently, fate keeps wanting to screw him over because the minute he moves on Skye is back and there is no escaping her.

I'll say it again, Danny deserved way better. He was always 100% in with Skye, but she never was with him until it was too late. Get over yourself girly, life is full of sacrifices and the life thought you wanted isn't all that great when the person you love isn't in it. Although, the last half of book really saved this one for me. There was MC drama, blood and some the heat I have come to expect from a Bella Jewel book. Kind of sad this trilogy is over but maybe one day I will go back and read the OG series.

I won’t lie, Manacle made me cry. Maybe it’s my current state, maybe it’s Bella’s never-fail writing. Whatever it is, I fell hard and fast for Danny and Skye. Their story was so real, so hard and so heartbreaking for me. I loved every moment spent with them all from the very beginning.

You see, Bella is my sure thing. I know when I need a book that will lift me up, break me down, and bring me back, she’s who I need to go to. This time was even more perfect.

Danny has loved Skye his whole life. She’s loved him back. But just because you love someone doesn’t mean you don’t dream of other things. This is Danny and Skye. Two people who love each other hard but when one person has dreams of seeing the world, their world comes crashing down.

The chemistry is off-the-charts. The angst left tears flowing from my eyes before I was even aware of it. This is the book where love flows and you’re always rooting for it—even when the characters can’t see it.

This isn’t your typical motorcycle club book. It’s so much more. It’s the story of how a family becomes a family and protects each other at all costs.

Maybe it’s time I start from scratch! ~ Heather, 5 Perfect stars

~~~
Welcome to the next book in a must read series! If you loved the first generation of bikers, you will fall head over feet for the second generation!
When you grow up in the world of bikers, you are accustomed to how things work. You also know fairly early on if that is the life you want to live.
Skye has loved Danny for her whole life. She would do almost anything for him, except become an old lady. She knows the dangers associated with the club and refuses to “settle” for that type of lifestyle.
Danny has been groomed to be the next president. He loves his life, and he also loves Skye, so when she wants nothing more to do with the club, it’s hard for him to process.
This series just gets better and better with each book. I am so in love with Danny and Skye and their journey, I have already marked it as one book I will make sure to revisit when I need to forget the real world. Even if you have not read the rest of the series, you will be able to enjoy this book with minimal confusion. ~ Devlynn, 4.5 stars
“We belong together—you fuckin’ know it. I can give you it all, Skye. I can give you everything you want. I can take you around the world. I can give you babies. I can give you your white fuckin’ picket fence.”
I’ve wanted to read about Skye and Danny since Pandemonium. Not knowing what was happening with them made me so much more interested to get their book. I needed to know what was going on!
Skye and Danny are at a standstill with their friendship/relationship because they want different things in their life. Danny wants to be the President of the MC while Skye wants to travel the world and not be an old lady. They’re neither of them willing to give up what they believe they want in their future for each other.
Starting this book I didn’t know what I would be getting into. Skye and Danny want each other but they realize that they can’t be together because of their own wants, and that made for an interesting story of them pushing each other away despite being miserable without the other.
I was addicted to reading this book, wanting to find out what would happen, as it seemed like they were always surprising me with their actions—both with each other and on their own. I have to say, while I enjoyed reading this book, Skye got on my nerves. After a few of her questionable decisions, I no longer felt too bad for the situation she got herself in. Her decisions made me shake my head and want to tell her to get her head out of her a** so she could be actually be happy with Danny. Despite my slight annoyance with Skye, the book was still interesting and enjoyable.
While they had some questionable moments, they also had some great ones together. Even though their romance took a while to shape up, they had always been friends first and, even when times were tough between them, they still had that friendship deep down. No matter what happened, Danny was always there to rescue Skye from whatever she got into.
It was great to catch up with the MC and see how their lives have been playing out. I’m intrigued by the new things happening, and I’m interested in seeing how things will play out in future books.
Bella Jewel was able to write yet another MC romance that kept me flipping the pages ‘til the end. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I hope it’s Max’s book! ~ Leah, 4 stars
5 emotionally sexy stars!!! I was on edge the whole time I read this book!!
Seriously, Bella Jewel knows how to write one heck of a book!! One minute I’m wiping tears and then the next I’m fanning myself!! And just like Skye, I too fell in love with Danny. He’s the MC president and super badss!!! I mean how can you not fall in love, let’s not forget the dirty dirty mouth he has!! And while I was lusting over him, I was crying over Skye’s story, it’s emotional and you feel for her!! Bella Jewel has done it again!!!
Bella Jewel has been on my TBR for a long while, yet this is my first read from her. Her other stuff will be moving up my list.
This was Danny and Skye's book. Yes, it was book 3 in this series, but you can definitely read it as a stand alone and not be lost (I had no problems). Would you get more out of it if you read the previous books, or even the parent series? Probably, because you'd already have known some of the characters and already loved them. But, I didn't and I had no problem whatsoever. I easily fell in love with several characters :)
But back to Danny and Skye. They've both grown up in the MC and knew they were the matching halves to the other's soul. However, they want different things out of life. Danny wants to be MC president and Skye wants romance and to travel the world without the added possibility of death and violence that a MC brings. And therein lies our problem. Skye leaves Danny and the MC and WHINES about how her heart is broken cause she loves him so much. She does some really immature things and poor Danny keeps coming to her rescue. I really felt bad for him that he loved her and couldn't let her go. When she finally admitted she loved him but knew he deserved better, I agreed with her and silently said a prayer that he wouldn't go back to her. Alas, love triumphed and they got their HEA. Truthfully, I was ok with that because I liked Danny so much and just wanted him to be happy.
This was entertaining despite my dislike of Skye. I am intrigued by Ava and Lucas (who had a previous book in this series), I adored Cade and Addison, I liked Spike. I'll be going back to read all of their stories :)
What a fucking roller coaster ride of emotions. Danny's willing to bend for the family and club but, not for Skye. For Skye he will break. Skye is not willing to bend for the family or club but for Danny she breaks.
What an epic ending to the Next Generation of Sinners. The series itself might be over but the spin-off Jokers MC awaits me.
I'm loving these books jump on the Bella Jewel train with me!!!
Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance was well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!!
A autora escreve muito bem, mas a heroína é muito irritante. Acabei torcendo para o herói trocá-la por outra mais interessante. Ela ficava indecisa e querendo se distanciar da vida no clube. Ela arrumou um namorado certinho que a tratou feito lixo. Ela só acordou quando o herói arrumou outra mulher e estava começando a ser feliz novamente.
O herói foi maravilhoso. Fiquei curiosa sobre o próximo casal.
Recomendo!
The author writes very well, but heroin is very annoying. Just rooting for the hero to trade her for another more interesting. She was hesitant and wanting to distance herself from the life at the Club. She found a boyfriend uptight that treated her like shit. She only woke up when the hero got another woman and was beginning to be happy again.
The hero was wonderful. I was curious about the next couple.
4 Sinners MC Gen Stars
Ava and Luke's are Dark
Mercy and Diesel's are Bubbly
Skye and Danny's are Dramatic
Slept on it and that's the rating I gave the book.
Reasons are:
-felt the book was rushed
-not enough details
-angst
-characters are here and there
Danny and Skye knew each other since they were babies. They were friends and then they were more to each other. But one choose life and the other choose the club. Well.....the dramas are beyond the nerves in this book. You think Santana and Maddox's were dancing each other bothered you a little bit, Danny and Skye are worst. I don't want to give away too much cause I rather have you read it than read my review.
My expectations for the book were very high, but I was disappointed again.Basic story is all about a girl who doesn't know what to do with her life and cuz of that a lot of people gets hurt. Skye is spoiled more than scared and Danny is literally her puppet.
I am glad that they found their HEA and i was realy suprised how the MC club is turning in the future,but it doesn't wipe out the bitter aftertaste of the book .
Another great read in this series. I understood why Skye held back, but I was so happy when she let Danny in. What an ending, I love it when there's tons of action!
First of all, this book can be read as a standalone. I have read the past two books in this new generation series and I have to be honest and say that although I liked them, I felt like something was missing. It wasn't until I got to Manacle that I realized exactly what it was. I needed more of the club life. More of the club business and action. I thrive for that. I also was really looking forward to Danny and Skye's story.
Skye has grown up as one of the beloved children in MC Sinners. Her Granddad is the President and her Dad is the VP. She's been protected and loved by them her entire life. Lately she has felt like this life wasn't for her anymore. She wants to be a free spirit and travel. She wants to get away from the MC life. In an attempt to to do this, she moves to Denver. Which isn't too far away from the MC but far enough that she believes she can start a different life. In her attempt to do this, she's leaving behind the only person she has ever loved.
Danny has also grown up as one of the beloved children in the MC Sinners and has been groomed to take over as the next President. He loves the MC life and can't imagine doing anything else. He's also the only person that Skye has ever loved and is being left behind. He's hurt and wants Syke in his life but they are at an impasse. Will they be able to overcome their different goals and hang on to what they have or will the be forced to move on?
From the beginning Danny and Skye couldn't get it together. They were always drawn to each other and anyone close to them could feel the tension between them. Yet, one would either deny it or simple try to keep the other at a distance. Quite frankly, they are a hot mess. I personally enjoy this kind of tension because it keeps me invested. I get mad at one and then I get mad at the other but I'm always rooting for them.
Skye can come come off as a spoiled brat. Someone who seems like they want to turn away from the people that love her the most. At times you want to shake her and make her understand what she already has in her life. I think some people might be bothered by her but for me, I could tell there was something going on with her. Something that confused her and had her running away.
Danny is fiercely loyal to the club and to Skye. She's loved her for as long as he can remember. He was exactly what I needed from this next generation series. He's tough yet vulnerable. He's got a dirty mouth on him. And most of all, with him being groomed to be the next President, I got more of the club life that I like. The action that I was looking for with club business.
Overall, this is by far my favorite book for this series. I fell in love with the original series a long time ago and I've been looking for some of that feel in this series. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a lighter MC book with some plot twists and true love that has to fight hard. It isn't pretty but it's their story.
This review will contain spoilers because I just have to get some things out. Also, some people might not like the contain of the book so if you have some hard limits please read below.
Before this book not once in my life I had thought that I would want to see the hero ending up with another woman, but yesterday while I was reading the book, I did. Maybe it's the aftermath of reading Fooling around with Noelle Adams, but when Skye said that Macy was making Danny look happy something inside of me thought that Macy was a better choice. The way Skye was behaving before that didn't help the case either. In the end, I realized that she was halfway right, but then so was Danny. She was just trying to prove her point in one of the worst ways.
The book would have pulled some major triggers for me if I didn't think that the characters deserved it. Skye cheats Preston with Danny. I don't even know if I am supposed to be mad about the cheating. After all, she cheated an arsehole who I still don't know why he was introduced in this book to begin with, other than cause trouble with the love of her life. Then Danny after seeing that Skye has moved on and left him gets into a relationship with Macy, after he sleeps around for a while. As you can see both main characters sleep with other people and get into a relationship. I might not have read the two previous books, but I don't think that's what the royal readers wanted to read about.
The story is entirely told from Skye's point of view which was something I didn't like. I couldn't fully understand who Danny was and why people were expecting his book and Skye seemed to be from an entire different planet. She knew she was wrong and yet she was trying to convince herself that she wasn't. She was in big denial. The fact that she met Preston and went on a date with him a couple of weeks after leaving Danny didn't allow me to like her as much as I might have. I know that what happened to Mercie and Ava was awful, but I guess she didn't know that that could happen to anyone, no matter where they were. Danny was big on the words, but he did little in action. He didn't chase after her and he didn't try anything else, but wait for her to come home. He lost a great deal of points with his actions.
I hope this book won't be the last because I want to see with my own eyes the new direction the MC club has taken. I like the author's writing style and I wouldn't mind reading another one of her works.
I don't think I've ever been more frustrated by one of Bella Jewel's couples like I was with Danny and Skye. It took them so long to get their shit together and stop fighting what they've always wanted to mean to each other and witnessing the pain and heartache they caused one another along the way, only made it worse for everyone involved...not to mention it about sent my iPad flying across the room.
I completely understood where Skye was coming from when she said being an old lady and part of the club terrified her. A lot of shit had gone down lately to make her question whether or not getting in deep with Danny was something she could handle. But she ran away without thinking of the repercussions...without questioning who she really was and how she truly saw her future. Everybody but her could see what Skye was denying, but she had to see it for herself, which cost her to lose a lot of herself and the love that Danny felt for her.
Danny's not completely blameless in this situation. All he's known is the biker lifestyle and it's ingrained in his blood, and there's nothing wrong with that, but he's never truly stopped to see things from Skye's perspective, so even though he's not the one running scared, he's pushing Skye away without even realizing how deep her fears go.
The most frustrating part about Danny and Skye's story is the fact that they thought they could move on and start over with someone else. It didn't make any sense to me, and it made me question how much they truly loved one another when they denied how they truly felt by having someone else fill a space that would never be anything but empty as long as they kept fighting and drifting apart.
For most of the story, Skye truly doesn’t see or understand where she belongs, but she’s bonded to the club – that lifestyle and all that goes with it defines who she is and it’s a link that will never be broken regardless of how much she thinks she needs it to be in order to be safe…in order to accomplish the things she wants to and see all that the world has to offer.
The kind of love that Danny and Skye share is not something that can instantly fade or be replaced with someone else; both of them were so blinded by the pain they felt from not being chosen by the other one that it led them both astray, but they kept coming back to one another, and even if it only added to the hurt and made things even more confusing, it proved that the soul mate kind of love is one that will never truly accept anyone else but the one it’s chosen from the beginning.
Manacle was an extremely frustrating read for me, but to be able to bring out those kinds of emotions from a reader speaks to Bella Jewel’s writing and character creation. I absolutely love the biker world Jewel constructs and the next generation of biker babes and alpha males continues to enthrall readers just as much as their parents’ stories did.
This absolutely fried my head.
I have certain books that I absolutely loved but I only read them once because as much as I loved them the first time I know that a lot of angst and drama/heart break isn't my type of book and reading it again would definetly change my opinion on it. This book was like that for me along with havens sinners( spike&ciara). For me they were so much alike in a lot of ways, obviously with them being Danny's parents and all but also because there was so much push and pull between to H/h.
Now I'm not going to lie I didn't give it 5stars because it's my favourite book because it's not, it had 5stars because of the emotion it pulled out me.
This book was definetly a hard pill to swallow for a lot of reasons. Skye pissed me the fuck off! I expected more of her with her mother being a super badass and her dad being a super hot alpha badass. I know she's her own character but the shit she was spewing was just dramatic and made everything more drawn out.
Danny also riled me with the fact that he found someone after Skye who he really cared about! You don't do that shit when you love someone so much the consume you. As much as he proclaimed Skype to be a selfish he was just the same.
But together.. Together they were fucking brilliant. I just didn't like them apart lol which is a tad bit unfortunate considering there apart a fair bit. Fuck it definetly was a love hate relationship with them.
But... Even with all the unessessary drama I can't help but love this book and it goes far beyond just Skye and Danny .. SPOILER ALERT ..
AND ITS A BIG ASS SPOILER.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
ohh Ma fucking gawdddddd!!!!!!!
Knowing that the sinners will die with Jackson absolutely broke my heart. I mean I understand in a way why it has to be like that but for some reason in my head I think that they can all last forever and everything will be unicorns and rainbows. It was such a bittersweet moment knowing that one of your all time favourite series will be put to rest. :( I cried .. A lot.
Reading this back I know this review makes no sense lol. But I'm still in hangover mode and my heads jumbled to I'll come back again when I get my shit together.
What I will say though is even with the fact that my review looks negative, it's not meant to and you'll understand that when you read this book. There are so many beautiful funny and super sexy moments in the book to that totally over take most of the negative .. And I mean come on I gave it 5 stars so it's not shit but definetly a hard one to swallow with some jaw dropping moments.
This is the long awaited story of Danny and Skye! I've been excitedly anticipating this particular story since the start of this series of the next generation of Sinners MC kids. There's been a lot of build up between these two since the spin-off series began. From the previous books we knew there was a lot of feelings between these two but we also knew they both wanted different things. With Danny set to step up as president of the MC when Jackson steps down and Skye wanting a life away from the MC, they were both heading in opposite directions.
This third book in this spin-off series was much better than the last one, I felt it was more recognisable as Bella Jewel's writing style and the flow of the story made for a much smoother read than the last book, which I did struggle with a bit and read in fits and starts. This one I read in one evening, I couldn't stop, which is usually how I react with a new Bella Jewel book.
I did say in my review of Drifter, the last book, that some parts of the story weren't recognisable as Bella Jewel's writing style. While this book was much more fitting in her style there were a couple of moments where the characters seemed very immature, which is the main reason I didn't connect with the last book and the reason behind my remark of it not seeming up to Bella's usual standard. However in this book, it was only something I noticed once or twice. It didn't at all effect my enjoyment of this book, and I actually think I was more critical and discerning when considering this book due to my issues with the last one, and still I enjoyed this immensely. I'm so glad I was able to fall I'm love with these characters all over again.
4 Confusing Stars
At first I found Skype so bloody annoying, I mean come on what was she playing at! She needed a right kick in the arse! Because of this I found it extremely difficult to warm to Skye, with her constant attempts to persuade herself that she was doing the right thing, when it was clear that she knew she wasn’t. Throughout the whole book, my heart bled for Danny and I felt so bad for him. I really just wanted him to get his happy ending!
"I barely know who I am these days, having lost myself somewhere along the line."
“I love you, Skye. I’ll love you until the stars no longer shine.”
However even with my issues with Skye, I still loved this book, it was well-written even with the forced drama and I had a book hangover the next morning from reading the whole book in one sitting.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
We are back on the bike again wearing leather and getting ready for another wild ride with the MC Sinners. Bella Jewel never fails to bring us back into their family and reacquaint us with characters that we have grown to love while also welcoming new characters into the fold. Danny and Skye are two characters that Bella Jewel has been teasing us with and we have watched their simmering passion develop between them in both “Pandemonium” and “Drifter”, and I couldn't wait to see their desire boil over and explode. Danny and Skye are destructive, angsty, and beyond frustrating but their heat is too addictive not to experience. From their first angry thrust, carelessly thrown insult, to their heartfelt declarations. Tempers flare, temperatures rise, and a deep love emerges that brings readers to their knees.
Skye is a hard character to love with all of her stubbornness and obtuse personality but knowing that she is Addison's daughter from Hell's Knights should leave no doubt to where she gets it from and I soon grew to love her just as much as Addison. After the danger that has surrounded the club since Pandemonium, Skye has decided to give up riding on the back of a bike with the wind blowing through her hair and leave her heart behind with the hottest first love on record to travel and find her own version of a white picket fence future with a guy she thinks is safer... boring much? What she soon finds out is that “safe” is not always what your heart and body wants, and that no matter what, Danny is always going to be there to save her and will always own her body and heart, but what if it is too late to keep a hold of his heart?
Danny has grown up knowing that he would eventually take over the club and that Skye would always be his. Never did he believe that he would have to make a choice between his two loves. When Skye leaves, his heart is left ripped out and bleeding with him to pick up the pieces. Can he move on and find happiness with someone else or will she own him heart, body, and soul forever? My heart crumbled for Danny at times I was so mad at Skye and thought she deserved more than a hard and hot banging up against the wall for punishment. Not only does he possess the looks to keep Skye hot and bothered but also the heart to protect her at all costs.
Bella Jewel delivers a turbulent love story that speaks to the dangers that surround this MC family that we have grown to love through the first generation to this one. I highly recommend Manacle and all of the MC Sinners books for a world that is often riddled with bullets, dirty talking, leather wearing hotties, strong willed beauties that capture their hearts, and the uncontrollable hot scenes that explode between the sheets or any other flat surface. Bella Jewel interweaves suspense, passion, and the feeling of family in such a way that she has you fallen for all of her characters and waiting impatiently for another chance to see them.
So I have to admit up front, I am a huge MC fan. Love them. They are my guilty pleasure in reading. I devour them. Don’t get me wrong, I love my HEAs, but I also love real, gutsy, angst filled stories too. And MC books have that and so much more. So, with that out of the way, I loved Manacle by Bella Jewel. It had everything I love in an MC book.
This is book three in the MC Sinners Next Generation series and the first book in the series I am reading. I had no difficulty picking up the story and did not once feel lost. What I do want to do now is to go back and read all the books in the series. Always a great sign of a good series.
I loved the story and I loved the characters. You have an MC that has been together for a long time. Some bad things have happened and the princess of the club is now afraid. Skye loves her family, has great memoires of the life she has led but now she is ready for a life outside what she has always known and loved. She does not see a future with family, children and love in the confines of what she has always known. So she flees and leaves the love of her life, her soulmate behind.
Leaving is the hardest thing Skye has done and though she questions the choice repeatedly, she feels she needs to give this new life a try. Skye is afraid. She loves Danny. He is everything to her but walking away from her best friend, her soulmate is necessary to live the life she wants. Yes, she is a bit indecisive and her choices almost break the man she loves. But she is determined to stand by her choice. I feel that many will not like Skye for her choices and wishy-washy attitude, however, as you begin to understand what drives her, it’s hard not to understand why.
Danny, oh Danny. He is one hot alpha who knows what he wants. He is going to step in to be President soon and it’s what he always wanted. But he always imagined Skye at his side. They grew up together, were the best of friends and eventually lovers. But Skye always kept herself a bit apart from Danny and when she walks away, he understands why. Giving her up is the hardest thing Danny can do and though he feels he understands her better then herself, this is a decision she has to make on her own.
I loved Danny. He was always there for her, his friends and his club. He was strong and determined and though he was more than willing to fight for what he wanted, he was not going to walk away from this club.
And so Danny and Skye part ways and find themselves heading in different directions and moving on. Yet they were never truly apart from each other and they found themselves fighting their decisions even as they moved forward.
Once it seems they are both finally in different places, Skye finds herself needing her MC family more than ever. But is it too late? Were her choices really the right ones?
I really enjoyed this story and read it in one sitting. And as I mentioned, will go back and read all the books. I would highly recommend this book.
I give Manacle by Bella Jewel 4 stars and would happily recommend!
I am a huge Bella Jewel fan. I loved the original MC Sinners series. Although this is the third installment of the next generation, this is the first book that I have read. This book can easily be read as a standalone, but having read the original series, its wonderful to recognize and have the story of so many of the original characters continued. As I've come to expect from Bella Jewel this book was incredibly well written, full of drama and action.
Manacle is Skye and Danny's story. Skye's and Danny grew up in the MC. Those familiar with the series will recognize that Skye's Grandfather is the MC President, her father Cade is the VP. Danny's father Spike, is Cade's best friend and also a member of the MC. Skye and Danny were incredibly close as children, when they became lovers their relationship changed.
The book is told from Skye's point of view and for me I found her to be a confused and indecisive character, that I found to be a bit frustrating and annoying. Skye comes across as emotionally erratic and quite immature. Danny on the other hand is your typical alpha MC badass, being groomed as the next president he is loyal, tough, loving and has an extremely dirty mouth. I loved Danny's character so adorable and swoon worthy. I would have loved if this book was told from a dual point of view, mainly because I loved Danny's character and would have loved to have had more of him within the story.
Their relationship is forbidden, and although they are best friends and share an intense chemistry and connection, Skye lets her fears get the better of her and runs away from everything including her relationship and feelings for Danny. Their story is quite heart breaking and is full of bitterness, angst and drama.
This book is full of twists and turns that I didn't see coming and kept me guessing and thoroughly engaged and enthralled to the very end. I look forward to reading the previous books in the next generation series and any future books in this series as well.
Lovers of MC romance will enjoy this read for the banter and relationship that the members of the club share. If you are a Bella Jewel fan, you won't regret picking up this book.
