Tensions between three sisters, divided by life and love, are about to spill over into all-out conflict.
It is 1942 and the world is at war. The eldest of the Redcliffe sisters, Isobel, impulsive and ideological, strives to make herself heard in a world distracted by violence. But her ambitious new path is strewn with obstacles, not least a private scandal that threatens to become public. Optimist Chiara has had to grow up fast, to set aside teenage dreams and make way for the unexpected realities of adulthood—but who can she count on for help? Meanwhile, Felicity has challenges of a more spiritual nature: will her journey of self-discovery lead her away from the convent she thought was her calling?
Separated by distance and war, Isobel, Chiara and Felicity must learn to confront life’s challenges with passion, strength—and unity. Because family is the tie that binds tightest of all.
This is the second title in the Redcliffe Sisters series and follows on from Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye.
Незадоволителен край, твърде изкуствено, отношенията между сестрите бяха абсолютно неестествени и пълни със самодоволство. Твърде нравоучително накрая.
It got off to a good start, but I couldn't finish it because of the content. I just prefer not to read books with language and sexual content. I didn't read very far in, so I didn't rate it. Seemed like a good book except for the content.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and had been looking forward to catching up with the three Redcliffe sisters again. I have to comment on the covers of the novels in this series, they really are such great quality, very attractive and eye-catching.
There is absolutely no doubt that this author really can tell a great story, despite the fact that this is the second in a series, it would read very well as a standalone novel as the author expertly weaves the character's back stories into his plot. He does this with a subtle touch and it never feels as though the first story is being re-hashed; it's seamlessly done.
The three sisters; Isobel, Chiara and Felicity are wonderfully created, with their own flaws and personalities that make each of them unique. The plot is played out against the backdrop of World War Two in both London and Cairo, and once again this author describes his locations incredibly well. It is clear that he writes with in depth knowledge of both places and the reader feels instantly at home in each setting.
With a sprinkling of scandal, romance, intrigue and politics, Take Me To Your Heart Again is a novel that I read in just one day (albeit I was sitting in the Corfu sunshine at the time!). Marius Gabriel is a true storyteller, this is a compelling story with heart and soul, populated with a fine cast of characters. Very enjoyable and recommended by me.
Added 6/11/18. (Published July 12th 2016 by Lake Union Publishing) This book, _Take Me to Your Heart Again_ (The Redcliffe Sisters #2) is the second in the series. (I bought it as a "Kindle Unlimited" book which means the books are "free" if I pay $9.99 per month.)
I am reading this book first because the beginning drew me in immediately. Eventually I will read the first in the series. The 2 books can stand separately. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BELOW IS A GOOD DESCRIPTION (from online) OF WHAT THIS BOOK IS ABOUT: "Tensions between three sisters, divided by life and love, are about to spill over into all-out conflict."

June 16, 2018 - I'm on page 219 of this book. The sub-plots and shifting around are annoying. Also, the subject of politics doesn't interest me. I feel as if I'm "plowing" through this book. It's becoming an effort to stay interested.
June 18,2018 - I'm thinking of quitting this book. There's too much political talk while Isobel is campaining for parliament. It bores me! I'm doing a lot of skimming. BUT WAIT... we're coming to a more interesting part... about Chiara who is going through a troublesome pregnancy. Guess I'll stick with the book a bit more. I'm nearing the end of the book. I'm 93% through it.
HURRAY, I FINISHED READING THIS BOOK! I had to skim through the dull parts but other parts held my attention. The author is a bit long-winded, I would say.
This was the second book about the Redcliffe Sisters in this two book series. Just as enthralling as the first one and they both rate a well earned five stars! In each book I was completely surprised when I came to the last chapter. This is one of those sagas that pull the reader so closely into the characters' lives that you just don't want it to end! These books were so good I find myself wondering what to read next because no other tome can come close to being as good. The time period, 1940-1942 in Britain is very exciting as we see how the war affected people and how they coped; or didn't cope. I highly recommend this series.

I have read many books by Marius Gabriel (sorry Mr G! I haven’t had time to review them all yet - life gets in the way of good intentions) and all of them have been enjoyable and engrossing from page one, but this one really stood out and I read it in about a day and a half, barely stopping to eat and sleep.
The first thing you notice is the cover and the careful choice of the period photo and the colour, together with the excellent use of unusual fonts, set the tone for a compelling and engaging story. The book is part two of a trilogy, but would easily work as a ‘stand alone’ book and although what happened in book one is made known to the reader, it is not done in an invasive way and just flows naturally as part of the story, not as pages of tedious repetition that would be boring or unnecessary to readers of Wish Me Luck. In this book we meet again the Redcliffe sisters, three young women as different as chalk, cheese and blue paint, who despite their differences have a solid core of love, tested to the limit by the vagaries of war and each girl’s actions.
Gabriel is a master of his craft – an extraordinarily gifted wordsmith and a meticulous researcher. Hours of study must have gone into ensuring every aspect of this book to be historically accurate. I am in awe at the amount of old photos and documents Gabriel must have pored over, let alone visiting the places he writes about so that he can paint word pictures enabling us to see the scenes portrayed in the book. The opening chapter hits with the power of a left hook. Not only is Gabriel a dab hand at descriptions, his dialogue flows naturally and his understanding and depiction of emotions show a rarely paralleled mastery. “And a garret suited her mood. She didn’t want to see anybody outside of work, didn’t want to have to entertain or be entertained, didn’t want room to expand... “To another woman, the stone walls of the attic might seem bleak. To her they were a fortification. She was safe up here, walled off from the world, not needing anything and not needed by anybody.” Mr. Gabriel’s knowledge of Cairo and London brings those wonderful and exotic cities to life and without giving too much of the story away, the depiction of an air raid in London and a riot in Cairo were so vividly realistic, that I felt caught up in the terror and violence. Occasional flashes of Gabriel’s wonderful sense of humour come across so vividly, “Our leaders have a touching idea that Rommel is exhausted and will pull back at the last minute to rest. In my opinion, That’s like hoping a man will pull back and rest when a girl’s got her knickers off and her legs open.” I only have one complaint!! Book three is not out yet! Mr. Gabriel. Hurry up! I need my fix!!
Loved this book. It picks up where Book 1 ends and follows the sisters through their romances, separations, surviving the Blitz and the war in Egypt. Each sister has separate lives but they stay in touch through thick and thin. Even when Isabelle sleeps with Chiara’s lover, they manage to survive. You have to read it to appreciate the nuances of the author and to see how he weaves the WWII conflicts into the story. Both books are essential together. You don’t get the full picture until you finish book 2. get them both. they are available in Unlimited on Amazon.
I read this book coming to the conclusion that it was historical fiction. This story of three sisters, the war, maturing and evolving coming to the conclusion of what was truly important. I really liked all three sisters in the end with Isobel learning the most. She did make the right choice finally. I won this book in a goodreads giveaway.
The Saga of the beautiful Redcliffe sisters continues.
I received this book via ARC from Netgalley. Thank you to Netgalley.
I read the preceeding novel and liked it very much. (I have left a review).
This time the author outdoes himself. This one's a scorcher! It has all the details to provide a page turning read. Love, sex, intrigue with a bit of pathos thrown in!
The year is 1942, and the sisters have moved on. Chiara was betrayed by the man she loves and receives an unexpected farewell gift from him. Isobel, the beautiful older sister gets it into her head that she is going to run for political office, and Felicity, the youngest, a former nun, sheds her innocence and blossoms, having the time of her life. Their stories intertwine against the backdrop of World War II and the blitz.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It proved to be racier than the first, but in a way that added to the storyline. I love historical novels that educate me about actual events and this novel did not disappoint. I hope that there will be a continuation of the Redcliffe sisters saga, but I get the feeling that the author was tidying up all the loose ends at the end of the book. I do hope there is more to come though!
This was an excellent continuation of the story Wish Me Luck...there is great characterization detail as well as the most interesting stories of three sisters, the men in their lives and their survival skills as well as the drama, falling apart and the reconciliation to bring these sisters together.
Disappointing because of the explicit sexual content-if 100 pages of that would have been left out it would have been a four star. I found that I had to skip over 100 pages in the Egypt section because there was no story line just nudity and voyeurism.
If you read the first book you will want to read this also but skip over most of the chapters about Cairo.
This sequel held up to the first book. The editing/proofreading was much improved, but still not great. I learned a lot about not only England during WWII, but Egypt as well. I recommend this book to those who enjoy history, romance, and some surprises.
Take Me To Your Heart Again was the sequel to Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye and it didn't disappoint. It was excellent! Filled with drama, excitement, romance and plenty of historical facts I'd never read about before. The story evolves around three very different sisters and how they each respond to problems and challenges of WWII and the resistance. Isobel is the political sister, Chiara the more familial sister, and the youngest Felicity the more spiritual sister. They are separated by distance at times and are at odds with one another at times, they are also separated by ideologies yet still love one another dearly, as many sisters do. The author does an amazing job of weaving the challenges these three face throughout the story. He keeps the reader's interest peaked with each sister's story line and the ending was great. I couldn't have written it better myself. Often times you get to the end of a series and are disappointed in the ending after reading the entire series, not with this book. The author wrapped it all up in a way that suited each sister and what was going on in her life. This is more than a WWII story it's a story about the complicated relationship of sisters and all that entails. I myself am one of three sisters, so I know how challenging that relationship can be at times. I initially chose this book as a fan of the author, I've read several of his other books and found them to be excellent books with great characters. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. I recommend this series to all historical fiction fans, fans of Marius Gabriel and if you haven't read anything by him, try this one or really any of his books they are all good and free right now on Kindle Unlimited. Get ready for a great ride! This series will definitely take you on a journey you didn't expect and you won't be disappointed. Happy Reading!
"Take Me To Your Heart Again" by Marius Gabriel is an exquisite tale that seamlessly weaves together love, loss, and the indomitable spirit of the human heart. Set against the backdrop of post-World War II Europe, the novel follows the lives of its compelling characters with meticulous attention to historical detail.
Gabriel's prose is both lyrical and evocative, transporting readers to a bygone era where passion and resilience collide. The protagonist's journey is a testament to the enduring power of love, as they navigate the complexities of war-torn landscapes and personal sacrifices.
The author masterfully captures the essence of the period, immersing readers in a world where every emotion is palpable, and every twist of fate leaves an indelible mark. The characters are vividly drawn, their relationships nuanced and authentic.
"Take Me To Your Heart Again" is a captivating blend of romance, historical fiction, and unyielding human spirit. Gabriel's storytelling prowess shines through, making this novel a poignant and unforgettable read for those who appreciate a richly layered narrative that transcends time and resonates with the universal themes of love and redemption.
For a story to make me angry tells me it's written well. I was so angry with the eldest sister I wanted to continue reading to find out what came next
This story of three sisters relationships and interactions during WWII in Europe and Egypt has great characters who are all well described and developed. And although I would never speak to my sister again after all the drama created in this plot, it's an excellent story.
I was a little put off by the Egyptian king and the interaction between he and the youngest sister, and that part of the storyline I found a little over the top.
But overall, I would definitely recommend to fellow readers of historical fiction, romance and women's books. It's a very good series.
Not a fan of the Radcliffe Sisters Book 1 or Book 2
My favorite genre is historical fiction and I’m a fan of Mr. Gabriel’s other novels, but I found little to like about either book 1 or 2 of the Radcliffe Sisters series. I didn’t like any of the three sisters or, for the most part, any of the other cruel, thoughtless, self-serving characters. Mr. Gabriel is quite a storyteller, but the storylines of the Radcliffe Sisters series were implausible. I’m not a prude by any means, but the King Farouk/Egypt story in book 2 was a bit too much for me.
This is the second book in the series about the lives of the Redcliffe sisters. The story is set during World War II and it follows the lives of the three sisters who though close are very different from each other.
Marius Gabriel is a masterful storyteller. Along with the fascinating lives of the three sisters we learn about the happenings in the world during that time.
I loved the book but towards the end it became like a mushy soap opera.
Held my attention to the end. Besides getting into each sisters lives, a window into the ww2 happenings and that in the end the pasts forgiven, family live and respect prevailed
Usually Im needing the next book. This writer brought them all back together..so no need for another book to keep a story going
Light reading enjoyed it but found as it progressed to become very ‘neat’ ( tying up the loose ends) predictable and not like real life , a Hollywood style ending , that said I think my rating is more a 3.5 stars, it’s light and I enjoyed it, it’s not a challenging book but preferred the fist book in the series to this

This masterfully crafted novel continues to follow the three Redcliffe sisters and their exploits. It is written with great depth that brings the characters to life. I found the story drawing me in, almost as though I was a companion living the story with the sisters.
I thoroughly enjoyed the setting of WWII Europe from the eyes of 3 sisters, but writing from each sister’s perspective in large chunks and without chapters left me feeling like the storyline was very choppy. I can tell Marius Gabriel did his research and even provided real characters in the book. A very interesting read for sure. 3.5
Well, I’ve now read several of Gabriel’s stories and I’m delighted! I want more! The best of historical fiction with heavy emphasis on a lot of non fiction. Like learning history the best way. Thank you for a pleasant week of reading Mr Gabriel. I must go and search for another of your stories now…
This was a great series . I love the Radcliffe sisters wish he would write a book three to continue on the great story and answer some of the questions left at the end of this book!! Loved it!!!
Once again this is another beautiful book by Marius Gabriel. I absolutely love reading about the Redcliffe sisters and just like the first book I found myself emotionally involved with the lives of the three sisters. I hated the book coming to an end, but it was a fantastic ending.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and it's predecessor and am looking forward to book 3 in the series. I became immersed in the lives of the sisters as the War engulfs them and beyond. .
Excellent read, deep characters and exciting twists
A lovely story depicting the relationship of three sisters during World War 2. Accurate historical content drawing you in and experiencing what it must have been like.
Be sure and read the first book in the series first. I have enjoyed this author, who is new to me. I like to read about this period of history and his characters are interesting and complex.
Mr Gabriel does it again - great read - sorry to say goodbye to these characters he has created - this is my seventh consecutive book of his I have read and look forward to number eight- brilliant author.
