Soak

Rate this book
A good Mormon girl would never do these filthy, forbidden things in the basement of the house of God—as the tabernacle choir sings loudly overhead. But I'm not a good Mormon girl. And Ryder isn't a man used to taking no for an answer. He's my brother's best friend, a fellow Navy SEAL who saved my brother on the battle field. Now he’s living with us…a man outside the church sleeping in the attic above my room. What could go wrong? A good Mormon girl also never has sex before marriage. But there are other things we can do, other ways I can feel him inside me, without breaking my chastity. We can use our mouths, our hands, other…places. And if all else fails... We can always try soaking. Soak is a full-length contemporary romance novel. This book contains extremely sexual themes and harsh language that may be offensive to religious readers.

i received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
*possible spoilers*
possible personal triggers (recreational and prescription drug use, religious beliefs specifically mormon)

Chloe is a good mormon girl. she follows the doctrine to a tee, but she feels her life is lacking something. that something happens to be a dark, tall and hunky navy seal war hero who happens to NOT be Mormon like her and her family.

When Chloe's brother brings home a fellow navy seal who was wounded in combat along with him, everything Chloe knew about her life was about to change. She starts to question where her life is going and if her faith is really what is important to her.

when her and Ryder get caught, he is banished and she is put in confinement. Can she overcome her love for her Seal or will she let the men in her family dictate to her what she can and cant do? Will she spread her wings and leave her hometown to find the love of her life and make her own path? Can true love overcome family and religion? Read to find out.

I did enjoy this book. it wasnt overly sexual. It did have a couple hot moments but it was more about the developing feelings between the two characters. Chloe really struggled with what was right and wrong in this book, and i really liked how she dealt with it, even though she was scorned and betrayed for awhile in the story. I liked how Ryder really respected her and her beliefs and didnt push her to do anything she didnt want to do. It does contain some prescription drug addiction and recreational drug use in it that may trigger some people.

This was an enjoyable read. I really liked the characters Chloe and Ryder. The Mormon faith plays a big role in this novel as I'm sure you can guess. Chloe is a good girl and has always followed her faith and parents direction. She has been at a crossroads lately though and hasn't known where to go next. Her brother and his friend from the military show up and this sets her on a new path. At first, Ryder and Chloe do not get along at all. But they are drawn to each other and once they find a little bit of connection, it just keeps growing. Chloe has a hard time with the sexual tension between her and Ryder because of what her faith says. They create their own little world that they hide from everyone else, for as long as they can.
I thought that the way that the story was done was interesting. The characters were written well and I found it enjoyable. The sex is explicit and they find plenty of things to do. The story does not end in Chloe's parents house but instead they end up somewhere else. I thought that the ending was well done and I was happy with it.

Mormon girl meets Navy Seal.

I don't feel this was one of Celia Loren's better books and I've read a few, it was a nice steady story not as exciting as some but okay. The main characters were great and the story line was good, there was however one part that didn't make sense, I thought I'd missed a page out and went back but I hadn't, I think this is where the prologue fit in but it wasn't clear and it didn't spoil the story so all in all I'm glad I read it!

A tad bit different romance

This one was a bit different for me due to the subject. It still had the forbidden aspect to it.
Ryder, a Navy Seal on leave and Chole, a good Mormon girl.

Right off the bat you can see where the story is going but the lead up was oh so good.

There was a bit to much about the church in the story for me. F that doesn't bother you, this is one heck of a story.

This book just didn't do it for me, and I can't really figure out why. I liked the plot - sheltered Mormon girl with a Navy Seal, and the sexy scenes were well done, but something just wasn't there. Wouldn't turn me off reading more books by this author, but I probably won't move any others to the top of my TBR list.

Ok read

I'm not sure how I actually felt about this book. It seemed it was all focused around the sex with no real back story.
The epilogue suggests one thing and never really goes back to address it. Unfortunately I skipped a great portion of this book. I'm sorry to say this was a poor, boring read.

Not sure about title

I enjoyed this book as it was a good read to end a busy day. Cholie is the eldest female sibling to strong Mormon family. She is happy her brother is returning from active duty but said that he was injured. When he comes home with a fellow member of his team things change. Ryder is everything opposite of what Cholie thought she wanted in life.

An ok read. Sweeter and not quite as steamy or raunchy as I expected it to be. The writing is a little odd sometimes and it was a bit boring a time or two. Large focus on religion and the Mormon faith. No major issues with this book, just a few small things.

The religious aspect of this book was a bit of a turn off, but the book was written with imagination. I really liked the characters, they were all well written and interesting. The parents family life read very lifelike.

Wow!

Talk about a lot to take in. This book was amazing. It focuses on how love can overcome anything for religion to parents that don't approve. Give this book a try it is worth it.
