It was the gentlest kiss he’d ever given her, a tender cling of lips, a prolonged moment of nothing and everything. It was their first kiss in this new chapter, in accepting that they were real and they would exist beyond this bubble of private bliss, and it tasted like home.
“This is—” he said as the kiss broke and he leaned his forehead against hers, eyes closed. There was a hitch to his voice that made her stomach flip over. Because she understood—she felt it too. There was something different about this, something charged and heavy in this moment. She couldn’t put her finger on what it was, but it felt raw and exposed, like her heart laid out for him to touch.

The Surprising Catch is the last book in the Alpha Billionaire in love series. This has been such an awesome series with many twists and turns, with mystery and suspense, action and of course, PASSION.
In this book, this book focuses on Preston and Ashley . Ashley’s friends keep telling her that Preston is very serious about her and isn’t jerking her around, that their relationship is very real. Ashley is hampered by her past and that is affecting her current relationship. I can tell that she loves Preston and in this book, we see Ashley struggles with telling Preston how she loves him. It takes a while before she finally burst out with her declarations of love. Preston just keeps being awesome and showing Ashley with his attention and he sort of moves in with her due to make sure she is safe.
Ashley decides to play detective and figure out who the murderer is and pays Frank a visit—wrong move. Everything goes super fast from there because that causes a chain reaction –a life and death reaction. For Ashley and Preston, this has been a roller coaster ride from start to finish. Their love story has had many bumps and scraps in the road but they have weathered what has been thrown at them and come out on top.
I loved this story and how there were so many things going on, on top of the romance story. The ending was good- only thing I would have love more is to see where the couple was in the epilogue a few months to a year down the road but other than that, this was a fantastic ending to the series.

This series has been one of my most anticipated ones so far...always keeping me extremely excited for the next part. Alexa never fails when she delivers that's for certain. Having read the first 4 ..the wait for this final part seemed like it dragged on forever but so worth it in the end.
Alexa always delivers intense stories that never fails in capturing one's attention. The characters, as well as the storyline, always seems so real that it's hard to decipher whether its real or fictional....which is the way we want a story to be. Her series always picks up right where they left off to so you never have any doubts about picking up on the next part.
Preston and Ashley's story was great. I loved the twists and turns that Alexa through in and with five being no exception.
In book 5 Preston vows to make Ashley understand his feelings are real and that he wants things to work with them. He does everything he can to show her and even at times jeopardizes his business to show her. Ash sees what he is doing and tells him he needs to focus on his business but they make ways to compensate each other and each other's careers. The love Preston shows Ash is heartwarming and I am so glad Preston never faulted when it came to breaking her walls down.
Incredible finale to yet another incredible series.
I definitely recommend this series to everyone.

Another great read!
What a fun and decadent story. Having finished the first four books, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book! You can never go wrong with ANY book by Alexander Wilder. Love how she continues her characters in each series, creating the feelings of real friends and real situations. Love the many different descriptions of making love she has! I have read all her books thus far and still she surprises me! Each series is given new and very different scenarios that developed into toe curling, throw your head back and sigh.... Preston and Ashley have been dancing around their mutual attraction through two series of their friends getting together. Their very different personalities and stories really developed into friends you come to know and become invested in. The plot twist coming at you out of know where keeps you holding your breath until you can comprehend what's going on and then enjoy the thrill of the ride. You simply can't miss with any of these books, but I must warn you - they are addicting. Better than candy and sweeter than wine, you simply can't get enough of her stories and enjoy reading them over and over.

What a fabulous series end, Ashley and Preston finally get there HEA. After returning to normal life from her not so great break away at Preston ski resort Ashley can't help a little investigation to catch a killer, she seems more in hot water than she thinks and the killer has found her :-( Preston's desperate attempt to keep her safe almost back fires and for a brief moment Ashley is kidnapped....or she's attacked and held hostage in her home :-( , but Preston is on it and turns up just as the kidnapper/ killer is spilling all to Ashley. Mark Rohan....Larrys biological son,killed his father to claim larrys wealth.There's a heated moment that has you holding your breath and hoping for the best with Mark running his knife along Ashley's throat, then lunging at Preston and Ashley bashing Mark over the head in the Knick of time saving Preston from being stabbed. I'm glad we still get to read about Maggie and Cami in this series and all is well with the girls and some new editions ;- ) I received this book ARC and would highly recommend this series and the others from this brilliant author :)

Liked how book 5 ended in this series. It picks up where the last one left off...Ash thinks there is someone in her house. Her first call is to Preston and not the police, and that gives her pause. She finally is coming to the realization that she has deep feelings for him, and is becoming less afraid of them. They finally start "dating" after all the passion that has already occurred between them. A little cart before the horse, but it was funny and you get to see them blossom as a couple, experiencing the ups and downs that are normal. When Preston is burning the candle at both ends, Ashley does something that makes him realize he can't live without her. Nope, not giving that one away, you'll just have to read it!
Overall I really enjoyed the finale. There was just something about this one that didn't make me go "oh my god that was perfect!". Might have been I thought it should be just a little bit longer, or how some of the suspense occurred in the book at a time that didn't make sense to me. Still a great read from Alexa!!

I am so glad that Ashley finally found happiness with Preston. Her letting her ex-husband, the jerk, make her feel not worthy of love is crap. She has such a good and big heart. But when you have someone tell you cruel things like that; it is unforgivable. But she finally worked through it. Preston is so worthy of her love and worships her. There was nothing he wouldnt do for her.
I am glad that Ash decided to go back to school. With her deductive thought process, she pretty much knew who had done what they did at the hotel. But that boy was crazy. I think a few more fists to his face by Preston would have been great but he is a gentleman.
Now we need to know what is up with Grant. I know he has a drug issue and is getting help. He is the next that needs to find stability and love.
I am glad that Ash decided to go back to school. With her deductive thought process, she pretty much knew who had done what they did at the hotel. But that boy was crazy. I think a few more fists to his face by Preston would have been great but he is a gentleman.

I have to say that I liked this book the best out of all of them, however, the drama with Ashley continues. When there's an intruder in her house, why does she call Preston before calling the police? That doesn't even make sense! I just don't understand some of her decisions.
Then we find out that Preston is sacrificing time at work to be with her, staying up late to finish his work, and "burning the candle at both ends", but what is she sacrificing for him? What concessions is she making for Preston? I thought a relationship was about honesty and compromise.

Love the ending of The Surpeising Catch5. It's suspenseful and it kept me at the edge of my seat. I like how Ashley let all her inhibitions, reservations melt away and gave herself a chance to be happy once again with the sweet, sweet Preston. Love how Preston would drop everything just to be with the love of his life. What a beautiful romance. I like the way how the mystery was solved and how everything turned out perfection at the end.

What a gorgeous, heart-warming conclusion!
It made me happy. Full of intense emotions from deep love to romantic, passionate lust. Ashley is that messy, adorable woman who's fighting her last demons against the truth. She's hopelessly in love with Preston. And he's trying so hard to prove to her how much he loves her. All was beautifully described with a strong, heartfelt narrative.
Of course, there's that part of the plot devoted to mystery, murder and violence. The action and tension there were also intense and heroic.
This serial is well rounded with a lot of suspense to intensify the heated lovemaking and that kind of relationship which warms the heart because it is as sweet as it is desirable. Always a fan of this author!

Book Five is the conclusion of The Surprising Catch series. Preston has become the onsite bodyguard for Ashley and their relationship grows stronger as Ashley begins to drop the barriers that she has erected and their love begins to build. However, when she isn’t with him, doubts begin to creep in and she has time on her hands to again wonder about the murder. With her investigating her suspicions, it is only time before someone notices and it isn’t the good guy. Is Preston able to save the day again and will they get their happily ever after?

Excellent end to the series
So in case I didn't mention in my previous reviews for this series...I totally loved Preston. So refreshing the the rich, alpha male doesn't have to be a crude, rude jerk. Ashley was still just meh...but that's ok. There was Preston, kind, patient and love able character. I think they balanced each other out. The storyline didn't go how I suspected which was awesome..thought I had it pegged. And, everything ended in an HEA! A wonderful story, romance, suspense, and HEA...a win in my book. Highly recommend.

Book Five of The Surprising Catch was the end to a enthralling, story by Alexa Wilder. True to its name, this book had surprises. Ashley has finally admitted to herself that she loves Preston and he is not like her former husband, but will she be able to commit? First she has to figure out who killed Larry. This starts a chain of events that puts her into danger. But there is a happily ever after for Preston and Ashley. Thank you Alexa for writing another series that keeps your readers on the edge of their chair anticipating the next book!

After returning home from Preston's ski resort everyday things burst there bubble.
Preston has said the L word and wants Ashley to be happy so he starts ignoring his work thinking Ashley will believe he's serious he is. Eventually Ashley realises and makes Preston concentrate. on his business.
Due to Ashleys accident she can't work and a bored Ashley everything's things and her mind soon starts to ponder over events with disastrous results.
This is the last book in the series and I've enjoyed every part.

Ashley and Preston became ever closer together in the finale of this series, but Ashley had not given up on finding out who really killed Larry. I loved how Preston and Ashley matched each other in both their strength and intelligence. This was a good story with the mystery entwined with the romance. The conclusion finally wrapped up the last clues to the mystery and led Ashley to solve it.

Catch5. I received the book as an ARC member in return for an honest review. The book starts you off nervous about someone maybe in Ashley's house. The suspense was exciting! It brought Ashley and Preston closer to each other. But before they make any plans, the mystery of who killed Larry needed to be solved. The HEA to this story was beautiful! Alexa comes through with another great series I enjoyed reading.

This is a very good romance/mystery novel. They capture the bad guy . She finally realizes that she does love Preston. And you'll have to read it to get the rest of the story.

I enjoyed the conclusion to Ashley and Preston's story. Preston is the guy Ashley never thought she could have. Enjoy their story as we discover what they see in each other and the excitement of finding that one special person. Convincing her it is real, is it possible?

Wow, what a great conclusion to this story. There was some real twists and turns in this story that I have not seen before. The romance was hot, and the murder mystery was captivating. A real who done it. I loved this story.

I couldn't wait to get a hold of this book. I had to know how it would end. Alexa did an amazing job. Ashley and Preston finally re-enter the real world. Will there relationship survive? An amazing conclusion to the series.

Series, even though some parts drag occasionally. It's a nice short read for when u want a quick story that makes you laugh and wonder.

This is a great story
I love this story and the characters. I loved that the girls were BBW and not fake Barbie type girls and they still managed to get the hot hunks
