Facing the twilight of his life, widower Nathan Cartwright realizes that he has very little to leave his beloved family. While helplessly watching his son Danny attempt to make ends meet as a struggling Maine beekeeper, he turns to his old craft of authorship in order to leave a small legacy behind. His debut work in drama did very poorly, but his entry into the thriller genre propelled his books to the top of the charts. With all of this success and fame comes a steep price, with unspeakable horrors to unfold, should Nathan’s secret ever come to light.

I really enjoyed this fast-paced short novel. It can be easily read in one session and will hold your attention the entire time.
I recommend this 5-star book to adults and mature young adults who like C/T/M/H books and for those who are curious about this genre. There is enough thrill to make your skin crawl, but not enough to leave you with nightmares.
What did I just read? I feel like someone just slipped me some drugs and this book was the experience I tripped out from. The storyline, from what I could follow when it wasn't bouncing all over the place, was pretty interesting and totally creepy (which is a huge plus for me). However, the lack of commas and other missing punctuations, plus random errors scattered here and there were a bit excessive for a book so short.
Interesting short story about an author of horror novels. I enjoyed the idea presented in this book. I did find it to be a bit busy though. I am wondering if the author wrote it that way so we could be in the skin of the author who was taking quite a bit of painkillers. My soundtrack to read this by would probably be made up of Purple Haze,a few Grateful Dead songs and possibly One Toke Over the Line. I did enjoy the book and would definitely read something else by this author. I would suggest this if you like horror thrillers and want something fast paced that won't take more than a couple hours. I would suggest that you put aside the time to read it as you probably will want to keep reading until the finish. Don't forget the music!
