The Alpha's Captive

Rate this book
When the hunter becomes the prey, curvy Emma finds out what it means to be the alphas’ captive.

Curvy journalist Emma thinks the division between species is doing more harm than good. She needs hard evidence to prove that shifters aren’t the savage beasts the world thinks they are.

When she finds werewolf tracks, she'll get the break she's been longing for. But, those tracks belong to the twin Alphas of Dark Valley. One look at them and she’s got compelling, rock-hard evidence.

Luke is insufferably sexy, dark, and intense. He's the alpha of the pack along with his twin. Unlike his hot-headed brother, Owen's rational and decisive, but he’s just as deliciously sexy. The two alphas are shocked when they discover the stunning and courageous human following them is their mate.

And even better, she’s in heat.

When the Alphas' lust turns to obsession, neither can fight their primal need to claim her, and neither is willing to share.

This stand-alone novel contains hot, alpha werewolves that will bring out your own inner animal. Guaranteed happily ever after.

The Alphas' Captive
by Crystal L. Shaw

Wow Twin Alpha, Luke & Owen…. Night & Day in my eyes…. Luke seems so dark & intense…… Owen seems so
Emma, is a journalist that won't rest until she discovers the secrets of the werewolf.. In the process Emma found herself in between Luke & Owen
Both seem so obsession with Emma, What will happen to the Twins if they don’t learn to share Emma? What will happen if Emma is force to choose between Luke & Owen?

HOT! HOTT!! HAWTTT!!!

NOTE the Authors WARNING in the beginning of her book...
"If you enjoy sexy, alpha werewolves and stand-alone, INSTA-LOVE stories, complete with a happily ever after, this book IS for YOU".
BUT
"If you enjoy sexy, alpha werewolves and stand-alone, INSTA-LOVE stories, complete with a happily ever after, this book IS for YOU".

IF YOU DO NOT APPRECIATE a light, sexy az F@#K! faced paced read complete with TWO yes TWO!! Smoking Hot! Alpha Wolfies with INSTA-LOVE included, then this book is DEFINITLEY NOT! for YOU! So don't be coming for the author with a 1 star crap-tastic review cause there was no build up to a "Love" story etc... YOU WERE FOREWARNED!

Now that I have that outta the way, I'll be chucking 3 stars on just for being about my all time FAV paranormal species (Wolfies sighs... ), and another star for it being a light, quick and sexy az F@#K! read. All in all 4 ★★★★ Stars for me.

So as I mentioned above, this is in fact INSTANT LOVE. I don't usually like "That" in a book BUT when considering the species I have taken into account that when they come across their mate it's all pretty fast paced from there anyways, and being that this book is PACKED with some raunchy az F@#K! scenes it definitely keeps you reading, LOL!

Apart from the "Sexy Scenes" Emma tries her best to fight the pull she has for the two brothers, in the beginning she has NO idea that she is their mate so she totally mis-reads the situation (as we woman are famous for, LOL) she gives into the pull pretty quickly only to feel like she's been used. The double hotties, Owen & Luke have a hard time trying to convince Emma that they are not using her as their play thing... DRAMA!

I'll leave it with you to find out for yourself how she comes to terms with her situation and how she makes both brothers suffer in their own ways... totally recommend if your looking for something hard & fast to read : )

Luke and Owen are twin brothers that stumble upon their fated mate, Emma, in the forest not far from Shadow Falls/Dark Valley while heading back to their pack. Emma was in the forest heading for where she hoped to prove that werewolves can coexist with humans for a story she is writing in hopes that it will influence others to be accepting of it, but of course she doesn't let on about that when she meets Luke and Owen.....lets just say that secrets always have a way of coming out.

In this fast paced story there was a lot of emotional turmoil between Luke and Emma that caused some discomfort for Owen. But as the author says in her blurb they get their HEA. I have to say that I kept picturing Luke and Owen Wilson as the twins, in the character description one was light and the other dark in their wolf coloring so naturally (or not so naturally) that is where my mind went. I don't know if this was something that Crystal L. Shaw had set out to do or not but regardless I think the Wilson brothers are a perfect pick to play these twins.

Good werewolf story, book 1 in the series

Pretty good paranormal werewolf ménage book. I had a hard time understanding the ending because it seemed like such a dramatic shift. Plus some scenes don't make sense because they are contradictory and with grammatical errors. I get confused by these changes, which causes me to nit enjoy the story. But besides these small errors the story was good. Wish it was all encompassing especially since the next book is about a different couple.

Typical story. At this point even a silly surprise is cool. Not a bad story just not unique. Sequel may tell.

I really enjoyed the other book in this series, but this one kinda missed the mark for me. Problably because it's an mfm. I know the other books also have an mfm couple in them, but those books didn't solely focuss on that couple. Also there wasn't as much fighting in that one. The three of them seemed to belong together and that is not the feeling I got from the threesome in this book.

 photo download_zpsforf6imv.jpg

Emma is a (human) journalist trying to get the full scoop on werewolves. When tracking two of them down, they round up on her and she comes face to face with two hot twin werewolves. What she doesn't understand at first is that she is the mate of both of them.

Luke and Owen are shocked when they come face to face with their shared mate. Luke at first isn't very happy because his mate is human, which means she is weaker than they are. This causes the first fight between Luke and Owen and it sure isn't the last. They both want her for themselves...sharing is not gonna be easy.

Because Luke was quite the asshole in the beginning, Emma doesn't feel the same way about Luke as she does about Owen. This also pissed me off. Sure he was an ass, but she still took full advantage of him sexually. I hate women who keep saying they don't want a man..than give in and cry about it later. Grow up and stop whining !! Yes Luke fucked up, but so did she !!

This whole mating heat is also starting to annoy me. It makes the women in these books look weak, because they can't control their bodies and that my friends, is one of my pet peeves. I hate weak women and doormats in books. I would like for the women in these books to make more desicions with their minds, instead of their bodies....

I still liked reading this one, but for me it wasn't as good as the others. Doesn't mean I will stop reading this series, because I am still very curious about Jude's book. I just hope his book will be a regular mf. I just can't deal with all the jealousy and fighting.

3 stars from me

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review....thank you Chrystal L. Shaw ;)

I personally think that this book deserves more stars, so I actually give it 100 stars for an ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL BOOK. I love Crystal L. Shaw’s work. She is an amazing author and her “Shadow Falls” series is totally AWESOME!!! “The Alphas’ Captive” is as AWESOME the first three books were. She takes you on journey with the human female and twin Alphas and makes you fall in love with them all. Your attention is grabbed at the beginning of the book and kept till the end of the book. Then you are sitting there waiting on the next. A good sign of a good author. The characters are weaved into the story line perfectly. These are cliff hanger books and she prepares you for the cliff hanger which is so good, you are sitting there already wanting the next book. But hang onto your hats, because she prepared you for the next book. She also has you feeling all the emotions the characters are feeling. Another sign of a good author. I definitely recommend this book for mature readers 18 and up.

Emma is a curvy journalist who working on a story that will prove that the division of all the species is doing more harm than good. In order to get all the evidence, she needs to prove that the shifters aren’t cruel savages like the world seems to think they are. So she sets out to follow the paw tracks with hopes of finding where the wolves live in hopes the Alpha will let her do a story on them. What she didn’t count on was two wolves and then instead of her being the hunter, she winds up being the prey. Now she is fixing to learn exactly what it is like to be the captive of not one Alpha, but two, the twin Alphas’ of Dark Valley, Luke and Owen.

Luke is at times an insufferable jerk, but he dark and can be very intense. Luke can be very hot headed. He is the Alpha of the pack along with his twin brother Owen. Owen is the one who is rational and decisive, and he is just as handsome as his brother. The two Alphas’ are on their way home when they chance upon Emma. Imagine their surprise when they realize that brave woman following them is their mate. The best part of this is they realize Emma is in heat. Their lust is driving them to claim her, but neither of them want to share her. Will their constant bickering over her cause them to lose her? After Luke insults Emma will he ever be able to get her to forgive him and to accept him as her mate? Will Emma accept them both, or will she escape and go back to her home?

No Spoilers. Wonderful book, you cannot go wrong.

Emma is fascinated by werewolves and wants to find out more about their world. She’s travelled to the area around Shadow Falls in a desperate attempt to get to know their secret world, exploring the woods until she finds tracks which she believes belong to werewolves. Undaunted, she follows them . . . only to discover they are the tracks of twin werewolves, Luke and Owen. She knows to submit to them to keep herself safe but is astounded by the pull she feels to them both. This is the story of her determination to get the inside scoop on shifters, the mating pull to both of these males and how they learn more about each other including experiencing the fear of rejection and the worries of temptation. There initial relationship is anything but smooth - there’s a very bumpy ride to their HEA!

This is definitely not my usual sort of read and it I enjoyed it least out of the books in this series. It involved a triad insta love story with well defined and portrayed characters. The female initially comes across as determined but seems to weaken as the story progresses, becoming increasingly weepy and as for the alphas, tactless is an understatement!

This is not for folks who would rather read sweet romances, it is a steamy, hot romance where the action certainly doesn’t stop at the bedroom door. The story is complete but there are plenty of clues to subsequent stories in the series as danger lurks for all involved…. You don’t need to have read the earlier novels to relate to this one though there are mentions of some characters from those books but nothing major at this stage. So, if you don’t like details of triad sexual encounters, avoid this, but if you enjoy paranormal romances with graphic descriptions, you may well love it.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a quick read with under 100 pages. I feel you could read this book without having read the previous books. I honestly think it would make you want to read the others out of curiosity.

Emma seems to be a strong heroine at the beginning, but becomes hormonal and (I felt) irrational towards the end. I thought her actions were reckless, and sometimes selfish, but hey, that's part of what makes stories interesting. Owen and Luke were just as bad. Luke was repulsive. He is flippant and uncaring, and such a big baby. I felt he needed to hear the "if you can't take it, then don't dish it" quote. Because of his mouth and actions, I felt some of Emma's reactions were justified toward him. Owen was just a bad as Luke at times. They were both very abrasive with their words towards Emma (such love...*eye roll*). Owen's behavior, at times, seemed out of character (Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde). He had me at the first encounter, but I was surprised at how that quickly changed.

There was lots of heat in this book, despite the tension between the 3. This seems to be a better portrayal of what would happen if 2 shifters had to share their mate (brothers or not). I would think this would not be a pleasant beginning, but something that must be worked through. With that being said, though I am not a fan of reading menage, I liked this depiction of that particular type of mating. It felt more "real" (for lack of a better word).

The writing flowed well and was easy to read. I would recommend this for 18+ due to language and sexual hotness.

I received this for a honest review by Crystal Shaw. What a great story.

Emma was an unappreciated journalist. She knows what it is like to want to be chosen by the wolves as a mate and not be chosen. She wants to show the truth behind the shifter community. What they are really like and who they truly are with their mates. She knows there is so much being kept secret.

Emma never dreamed that she would be chosen to be the mate of not one wolf shifter but two. I loved how she showed so much submission when she first ran across them then the woods. The fear and doubt she must of felt.

Luke and Owen were twin Alphas of Dark Valley. Was it luck or was it fate that helped them run across their mate. Both were totally opposite in personality. Luke was more straight forward, spoke is his mind, and had a very rough personality. Luke was not happy that his mate was human. He worried about her being to weak for him and his brother. Owen was protective and had more of caring and gentle personality. Oh, don’t get me wrong, that did not make him weaker at all.

Emma seems to take to Owen very easily. She falls in love with him quickly. Luke on the other hand is a little hard to fall for. Emma truly worries that Owen and Luke are just using her and does not want to be hurt. Emma does not give into Luke very easily and it hurts Luke so much. A lot is riding on Emma excepting them both. If she rejects one or both it could be devastating. Will Luke be able to win her heart? Will Emma chose to stay and be their mate?

Here we are back at Shadow Falls again, breath taking beautiful. Ms. Shaw brings out the strength of a women, to stand up for herself even if she's shaking with fear. Yet
she'll love beyond any challenges.
Emma is a journalist and has been looking for Werewolves so she could talk to them maybe study them, let the world know about Werewolves. If people knew more about them they might change there ideas. So Emma looked and looked and finally she thinks she found some proof. Yep Emma was in heaven this was her chance to show her boss. Then everything changed and the two siblings wanted her...TOGETHER... they were fighting over her. This can't be happening what the hanney she she wanted them too.
Twin Alphas of Dark Valley Luke and Owen saw Emma and they knew. Luke wanted her, anywhere, anyhow and first... Owen wanted to be caring and gentle.. and take her together...Taking her to there home was tiring for a human she needed rest and let the Triad begin!! I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

Love this Series!!

Emma is on a roll! She's done all the footwork, getting the petition signed, followed all the information to get her to this point, actually following a couple of werewolves! She'll get that interview. Show the Authority that they can succeed if everyone lives beside each other instead of hidden in secret. And the humans that the werewolves are finding mates that's what the Offering is about, the women weren't taken against their will at the last one in Shadow Falls.

Luke & Owen want to know who's following them. They just didn't know that it would be their Mate! They are sharing a mate? They'll work it out. Now they need to get her back home. Owen loves how she gets on her knees & submits to them. Does she feel the pull? Luke is worried because she's a human.

What happens next makes for a love story that beginnings shakey as they walk through fears. Can they make it? Meanwhile, the rumblings going on about the Authority & problems between supernaturals grows.

On to Mated to the Werewolves!! Love this Series!! Look forward to seeing how the end flows.

Enjoy!! Thank you Crystal!!

More Shadow Falls. Here we have Emma, a gung ho writer who is determined to uncover the secrets of the werewolves' world. She tracks them and just like the blurb says—they keep her. Not on her agenda—but then neither are the feelings she has for the two amazing wolves then men who turn her plans on her. Luke and Owen tell her she belongs to them. WAIT A MINUTE. She belongs to herself, because she has no on who cares about her. That doesn't mean they can just assume...but they do and darn if she isn't drawn to them.
Another triad, with real male reaction—I may have to share but I don't have to like it. And like many males (and females) when tempers flare things are said. Can Emma release her hold on a world where she has no one to a wereworld? Can she learn to share and be shared? The ideas are not easy—but the heat they generate is a great temptation. She wants more—can they give it and can she believe it?
Although Emma does make up her mind, and heart--The author leaves us with the concern for the future of their world and a taste for more.
A recommend. I was provided a ARC for an honest review.

Emma is a human reporter who has been researching werewolves for a very long time. She on to the story of her career and in the process could force the Authority to start sharing information about shifters. When she finds out that two werewolves are in her area she begins a journey to track them down and find out more for her story. What she doesn't bargain for is being their true mate. That's right two werewolves and she is their mate.

Owen and Luke are twins and Alphas of the Death Valley Pack. A unique pack of various shifters. As they are on their way back to their pack they find are being followed by a woman. Upon closer inspection she turns out to be their true mate. The journey to win her love and claim her is difficult and one that could cost them both more than they are willing to give.

I enjoyed the story and the serial style. I just wish that there was a little more back story to Emma and more detail on their connection to Shadow Falls, beside Jude. But I am looking forward to the next installment and making those connections.

The Alphas' Captive (Shifters of Shadow Falls #4)
Emma wants to write a story on the shifters so, she decides to track some wolves to get a story.
Luke and Owen are alpha's, twins and are night and day in personality. Luke is hard and comes across as an ass. Owen is the peacemaker and sweeter but has steele beneath the surface.
Emma founds her wolves but they decide to keep her. She is confused about her feelings for them both and not realizing that she is their mate.
Things get off to a rather bumpy start for her and her mates. Luke says some hurtful things and Emma just decides that she doesn't want anything to do with him and that she only plans to gather info for her story and then leave.
However, Luke and Owen have different plans for Emma and all things work out in the end.
Looking forward to the next installment of this series and to find out what is going to happen with the Dragons...is it War?

This was just an okay read for me. The sex scenes were hot, but there was not a lot of romantic story. I had some issues with the story. I need more history on the heroine and why she was doing the story.
I didn't like how the heroes treated and talked to the heroine at first. I felt the heroine had some bad moments and it made me not like her very much. I was glad some stuff came out and was revealed because it made everything finally come together. I felt I was left with a few questions at the end of this story. Who exactly is Charlotte to the heroes? What is the relationship there? It is not explained. Why the turnaround? The story wraps up fast and the couple gets their happy ending, but the bigger story I think is going to be continued.

Emma just wants to prove that shifters are not bad and are a lot like humans. She sets out following two wolfs in the woods but when they split up and surround her, she gets scared.

Owen and Luke are the Alphas of Dark Valley and they know immediately that she is their mate. Owen is sweet and casual where alike is primal and hard.

She can't stand Luke but loves Owen. When they explain to her that she is both of their mates, she doesn't think she belongs. She thinks Luke just sees her as a toy and second.

Luke sets out to make her see that she is his in every way possible.

When they finally are come to terms on the same page, the love is there and so is the passion.

Excellent reading. The storyline was fabulous and this Author is always spot on with writing. The book draws you in and doesn't let you go.

I really loved this book. As always, Crystal L. Shaw wrote a an interesting story that is sizzling hot, and in this book, I really felt the emotions that Luke, Owen, and Emma were feeling. It takes a really good writer, that can make that connection between their characters and the readers, just using written words. Somehow, I had left out this book, and had already read the next book, before I realized it, but it was just fine. I very much enjoyed it anyway. I love MFM stories, but in most of these kinds of books, two of the three are already used to the sharing that has to go own. In this book, it is different, but interesting, as Luke and Owen are not sure about this sharing thing, and they both had to work on that. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review, and I highly recommend this whole series.

Emma want to prove that when a werewolves choose a mate at the claiming it is their fated mate. She wants to track down where she can talk to werewolves and find out the truth. She has a few days to summit her article. Emma is unaware what she was getting her self into when she finds herself confronted by two werewolves. She finds herself drawn to them and their both totally different.
Owen and Luke just realizes the girl that's been following them is their mate. Luke can't believe that their mate is a weak human. Owen finds she's everything he wants in a mate. Luke falls hard for her and she rejects him after Emma doesn't think she could trust him with her heart. She doesn't want to come between brothers. She decides she wants to go home and forget she ever met them. Can Luke convince her that he really does love her and she loves him as well?

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I have fallen in love with Crystal Shaw's work. She is a truly great author. You will love reading about Emma, Luke and Owen. Twin brother Alpha find their human mate. Emma is tracking the werewolves to be able to study them and show the world what she can about them and that the government is hiding things about them from the people. Luke and Owen are both the opposite of each other. Will Emma be able to except both of them as her mate? Will they be able to except a human as their shared mate? Luke doesn't like that Emma is human, he considers that as a weakness. But will he be able to look past that to the strong woman that she is?

I really enjoyed this. It was a quick and eventful!!

Although its short there is actually a lot going on and lots of action.

The twins part is freaking hot!!!

The sexy scenes are beyond hot !!!!

I haven’t read any from this series before but it didn't hinder the outcome I don't think you need to read the others beforehand however I think it would help understand the story as a whole a little better.

All up an enjoyable read I did struggle with the telling of the narrative the sort of voice over story telling but it didn’t hinder the overall pleasantness of the story.

I would like to read more form the characters and would hope that there is a cameo or too in the future.

I believe I will continue to read works from Crystal L Shaw.

I've been enjoying this whole series but this book has been my favourite.
When Emma tracks the two Alphas to try and get her story about shifters firsthand, she gets much more than she bargained for.
Luke and Owen are twins but so different from each other, when they catch Emma following them they know instantly she's their mate but if you think the path of fated mates runs smoothly you be very much mistaken. Emma is undeniably attracted to both men but is unsure of Luke's aggressive manner and when his thoughtless words cut her to the bone she may never be able to forgive or accept him and being denied will destroy him.
This is one book I read into the early hours of the morning because I couldn't put it down.

This is a good read by Crystal Shaw. It begins with Emma who is a journalist and wants to prove that shifters who turn into wolves are similar to the humans and are not a danger. She follows the tracks of two wolves and begins to wonder if she is on the trail of shifters or wolves until she notices the prints are now human so they must have shifted yet once they did they went in different directions. Owen and his twin Luke pick up Emma's scent and discover that she is their mate. Luke says " she is just a human", however Owen is the more reasonable between the two. Neither Owen or Luke want to share her and Emma is only after a story. Or so she thinks. Very sexual book read.

Emma wants to prove that shifters are nice people and not the bad people the world thinks they are. She is in luck when she comes across some shifter tracks, but she's not prepared for them belonging to the twin Alphas of Dark Valley. Luke and Owen are both very sexy but very different. The soon find out this woman following them is their mate.

They soon get Emma back to their place and she is in heat. Which means she should have sex with both of her Alphas but she doesn't trust one and she doesn't want anything to do with him.

If you want to find out if she will forgive one of the Alphas and agree to be both of their mates read this amazing story!!

Normally I enjoy reading about shifters

I was asked to review this book and I'm sorry to say that I couldn't put 5 stars. I love shifters, especially no nonsense ones, but what I don't like is when the cussing is so thick you can't enjoy the book. I kept having to put it down and do something else, but I did manage to finish it.

Emma wants to write an article about shifters proving they do exist. She runs into the 2 alphas she's been following when they decided she was their mate. She doesn't realize how important this is to them as long as she can write her article. Yes, Owen and Luke cuss, but Emma seems to have a trucker's potty mouth.

I received this from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is set in the Shadow falls world. We have a reporter that is wanting to do a story to show werewolves in a better light. She heads out into the woods in order to find some werewolves and ends up finding her mates. Luke and Owen are alpha males and very dominant. They kind of game across as jerks. I also did not enjoy that the female came across as very weepy. The story had promise I just was not a huge fan of the characters.

You must read this book!

I know it's part of a series, but it reads well on its own too. The drama is compelling, the characters are complex, and the pace is steady. The idea of accidentally finding a mate and then having to share it caused a lot of the drama and conflict. Luke suffering from foot in mouth disease contributed just as much. Some scenes were wickedly hot. Emma was naive at first but gained personal strength as the tale wore on. It was a really good read and the end hinted at a continuation that I can't wait to read!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review

This was a good little shifter book. Its a fairly short read that can be done in one sitting. The book is written quite well and the story flows easily. It has a steamy storyline that is actually fairly decent. I enjoyed reading this.

Even though this is the fourth book in this series, I think this story could be read on its own. There are references to things that have happened in the previous books, but I think this book could still be enjoyable even if you don't read the others.

Getting more than she bargained for.
Emma is a journalist trying to get a story about how the werewolves are people just like humans or close to it. She wants to help them so she tracks a few in hopes to talk with them and learn more. Only she gets a lot more than she bargained for, when the two she tracks decide to keep her. This is a great story that brings on several emotions to include love and hate as well as trust and denial. It’s a self-contained story with a HEA. Well written and very entertaining to read.
