Fifteen years ago, a set of twins a girl and a boy were born to the king of Linevan. Shortly after their birth, a prophecy foretold that when the girl turned 16, she would bring about the end of humanity. To avoid this terrible fate, the king ordered the princess disposed of scrapped! She miraculously survived and was raised away from the kingdom that would kill her. But now she has turned 15, the king's guards have caught wind that she's still alive...and they set out to finish the job!
The ending was depressing, the story made no sense, the action scenes were so jumbled it was hard to follow and if the Oracle has been known to have been wrong twice, why just assume it was right this time?? “It’s very rare to be wrong, so it can’t be.”??
How many times has it been right?? What are the odds and YO, ITS BEEN WRONG BEFORE. Why put such blind trust in it?!?
And if she was living in secret with just her two siblings, how was she ever found out?!? I highly doubt any of them squealed about it.
1, this whole thing was a mess, star.

A really quick read that I enjoyed. I feel for the characters, and the ending made me tear up (the cat!!). However, it felt a bit rushed and I had to go back and re-read a few times to follow what is going on, but otherwise good. The art work is lovely and well drawn.
The art style and writing make it a little hard to follow. The twins do not look like twins, despite what the cover may have you believe, and the names and places are very difficult to follow they sound like made up English at times. The male characters name is Shannon, that confused me a lot. Essentially Pacifica and her two blue haired siblings are trying to out run a prophecy that Pacifica will end humanity when she turns 16.
I've watched the anime years ago and loved it, but the manga has something lacking. The art is alright, not spectacular or anything but ok. The story feels all over the place compared to the anime which was much more linear and coherent. I will finish the series since it is only 3 volumes long, but I am not sure it will get any better.
Pacing is frantic, but uneven. It seems like random things just start happening and that there is abruptly downtime between pages without any consistency. I'm going to try to read the light novel instead.
This is the manga adaptation of the novel "Scrapped Princess." I enjoyed the premis of the story, but feel I have missed some of the background information.
If anyone has read the novel version and can tell me if they talk about why the three siblings are travelling, or why the scrapped princess doesn't look like she has a twin - Shannon and Raquel look like twins to me, that would be great!
It was pretty entertaining, and I think I will keep reading the mangas, but I am still looking for the novel.
The Oracle says that when Pacifica turns sixteen, she will bring about the destruction of all humanity. And now Pacifica's fifteen. This, of course, means that half the continent is after the bounty on her head. And the only thing standing between them and it is her soldier brother and sorceress sister, along with a motley collection of strays they pick up one after the other on their travels. Interesting beginning, though no real story arc has shaped up yet. ***
I watched the first few episodes of the anime. I really like the series. The story is pretty original (well, maybe not the outline, but the details. Basic: Princess in trouble, protected by siblings. Details: Twin princess is scrapped, sister does magic, etc.) and I really enjoy it. There's only slight seriousness to it, but only enough to make sure it's not a full-out comedy, but it's still a heavy-light read. :)
At the time I first found Scrapped Princess the summery of the story sounded promising and I was willing to give it an honest try. Unfortunately the manga just doesn't do anything for me. After reading Volume 1 I didn't feel compelled to read Volume 2.
Although Scrapped Princess has an compelling premise its overall story lacked interest and the characters didn't grab me in a way that made me connect with them enough to keep reading the series.
I really enjoyed the anime of Scrapped Princess, but there's something about the manga I find lacking. I don't know if it's the translation or if that's just the way it went. I might want to check out the Light Novel, as I think that's the original version and this is just an adaptation.
I'm going to read the other two volumes, because I have them... But I didn't think it was all that great.
I have watched the anime and read the novels. This manga jumps right into the story. It doesn't give you any background information. The manga has stories that are not told in the anime or novels.
