Is she willing to risk her heart to play his game?
Guitarist Cole Hayes learned early that falling in love is the easiest way to lose. Determined never to go down that road, he sealed his heart off, numbing himself with erotic and sensual pleasures--with men and women alike. The rules were simple: group sex only and never one-on-one.
It’s all so simple until he meets Devon Bannister, the beautiful director shooting the documentary on his band. Suddenly, she's all he can think about. Neither can deny the attraction and desire between them. Although Devon is open to exploring Cole's lifestyle, for the first time in his life, he finds himself reluctant to share.
How can he own all of her, if he's only willing to give half of himself?
USA Today Bestselling Author Ella Fox has learned a bunch of stuff along the way but the most important of all those things is that anything is possible when you try. In 2012 she took a big leap of faith and published her first book, Broken Hart. Once that happened, her entire life changed.
Ella's favorite things are music, movies, traveling, and, of course, reading. This isn't a surprise considering the fact that her mom is USA Today Bestselling Author Suzanne Halliday.

Cole Hayes is leading the charmed life of a rock star and is pretty used to getting exactly what he wants and how he wants it. And what he definitely does not want is to fall in love. He’s seen first-hand the destruction that love and loss can cause and he wants nothing to do with it. He protects himself by only ever entering into ménage relationships but when he spots Devon the attraction is impossible to ignore and this time, he’s getting more than he bargained for.
This was my first book by Ella Fox (I know. I’m disappointed in me, too) and I was not disappointed. In actual fact I was totally surprised because this girl certainly brought the heat. The angst and tension between these two were palpable and I devoured every single near-kiss, lusty stare, secret touch and yearning torture like it was the last piece of cake before a diet. I was just about ready to lock these people in a room together because I couldn’t stand it anymore when Ms Fox gave me sexy times that were so hot and sensual I read them all twice.
Cole had a deliciously dirty mouth and his inner monologues were hilarious but he was not my only favorite character in this book. In fact, all of them were. Yup, all of them. Even Devon who I didn’t think I’d get along with in the beginning with her fears of either looking like a slut or looking fat turned out to be pretty ballsy and sassy. The interactions between all the characters made me feel like I was in the company of family.
There were some surprisingly emotional moments in this book that really got to me but overall this just an extremely funny and sexy book. Definitely recommended!

!!! Cole A Lil FREAK (I see). Lmao, I assume they all are like 28 and 29 now. Glad the book has younger men around my age lol except dudes in their 30s like bih!
Just a few Spoilers in my REVIEW!!!!!
READ AFTER YOU HAVE READ THE BOOK I'M TELLING YOU IT'S A BAD IDEA TO READ MY REVIEW LOL!
Bihhhhhhhhh! This book was good as the other two before this one. I knew it wasn't going to work with Ian. and that Cole was going to end up with just ONLY Devon. I like knew that in book 3 at the bowling alley. Like Cole we know you ONLY wanted Devon and didn't want to share her boy. I like how his family and everyone else accepted him for being bisexual. And for Devon to accept his sexuality.
But hunny boo boo I don't know if I can fool around with a man who do men lmao. I can't get my heart to do lol. Plus I was wondering in book 3 what had happened when Ian came into the room with them now I finally found out. I thought sure that he was going to bust in on them doing the mcnasty tbh lol.
Also, I'm itching to know about the story Tyson had told Devon and What's his story and about his life. Like book 4 is calling my name and I'm going to READ it.
Loved Cole and Devon. Can't wait for Ty...full review to follow! Another easy read from Ms. Fox.
I am not a reader that will ever use the word "safe" but in the same sentence I don't always enjoy reading menage stories. I like one on one action over all else..even though I have read some hot ass scenes..(off topic sorry) so this story was one I entered cautiously. Waiting to see if the reasons for this manwhores particular tastes were brought on by something else. Of course there was more. More to the beautiful broken boy that was so scared of loving and losing that he never placed his heart fully in anyone's grasp. Afraid that it would only end in heartache and a loneliness that he watched from afar. A young mind stained with the absolute horror of losing a soulmate. Until he felt it. The need to posses and not share. Would he be able to risk it all? Love is all powerful and a family that finally recognizes why he is the way he is, tries to right the wrong. LOVED IT!!
Cole is extremely scarred from a loss in his childhood that leads him to believe he shouldn’t fall in love. As a teen and into adulthood he decides he can’t function in a two person relationship so he is always has a third. Ian comes on the scene as the bands biographer and Cole is attracted to him, but within minutes of meeting Devon (the girl filming their story) his laser focus is centered on her. The problem is Cole still thinks he needs a third and wants to convince Ian to join. This is where I was lost a bit; it was like Ian was just thrown into the story so Cole could have an excuse. He quickly fades into the background and the focus is on Devon and Cole. Now I really liked Devon and Cole, they had amazing chemistry and it was obvious they belonged together. I think for the story to work for me I needed Cole to wake up a bit sooner so that the Ian stuff was resolved.
I am a bit torn on how to rate this. The book had a great opening. I loved learning about Flynn and Cole and how the loss of Flynn’s mother affected them. And I really liked the introduction of Ian and Devon, but when it took the direction it did, I think I was pulled out of the story a bit. All in all I did enjoy quite a bit of the story and it seems like I have been waiting forever for Between Us. I am really looking forward to Tyson’s story, I think it is going to be highly emotional and I need him to find some happiness.
I feel like I have been counting down the days for Between Us. Well needless to say , Ella Fox never seems to disappoint. Between Us is the third installment in the Renegade Saints series and Cole is just as sexy as his band mates. If you haven't read Flynn and Gavin's stories, go do that right now!
One of the most amazing aspects to Ella Fox's writing is, that she takes you on a journey with her characters. You get to know each of them and what makes them who they are. Cole's story is nothing short of touching. You are shown this man who you think is a playboy but then you're shown how much love he has to give. He seems to have it all. He has an amazing family, friends, success, and all the lovers he can manage. But inside he has his own demons. When he meets Devon he needs to decide what is most important.
Devon and Cole's story has some HOT scenes and some incredibly touching moments. Every time I read a new Ella Fox book I think, "this is my new favorite." Between Us is no different. I really enjoyed Devon's sass (she could be my new best friend), and I loved seeing Cole progress and discover himself.

Cole is a man that only does relationships on his terms. NEVER a one-on-one relationship with someone. He has seen first hand how devastating it can be to someone to only love one person, and then to have that loved one ripped away. The devastation. The heart break. He had long ago decided that, that would never be him. He would never suffer through that kind of pain and loss.Keeping relationships at arms length has worked for him. Only a menage type of relationship suits him. He loves the power, the rush it gives him when he and another man bring a woman so much pleasure.
Cole's band The Renegade Saints are going on their last tour, this is their farewell to their beloved fans. While on this tour it's a band decision that they will do a video and book biography about themselves. This means they are letting two people into their circle, two people they don't know, but they think they have found the perfect people to bring their story to light. Devon, will be doing the video biography. And Ian, that will be writing a tell all book about them. Upon Cole meeting both Devon and Ian he knows who he will be conquering next. He knows who his new bed-mates will be. Just how can he get both of them there?
Cole and Devon have a pull to one another that they just can't over look. They want one another. But Cole with his rules, he has to have someone else too. Ian. Cole has is eye on Ian. Only Ian isn't so sure if this is what he wants, he has never been with a man, but wants Devon too. Can Cole break down Ian, Devon is already all in and willing. Cole sure as hell wants Devon, but not without a third party involved.
As bonds and new relationships start to form can Cole break his own rules of not having a one-on-one relationship? Is there ever going to be "the one" for him? Or will he hide behind his rules to keep from getting to close?
Between Us had the ability to make me swoon, need new undies, and laugh all in one book. Cole and Devon had the type of relationship that is all consuming. It could only be fight off for so long. They have such explosive chemistry in and out of the bed it's hard for Cole to stick to his silly rules. Oh, and did I mention the mans tongue is pour fucking magic?! Add in the dirty talking.....goner! woowee! And on top of that he has such a huge caring heart, he for sure has the one-two punch to make it on to my book boyfriend list.
Of course I still love all the other characters, most of them we now know their stories and back grounds...all but one and I can't wait to devour Tyson's! Another character that I loved was Devon's roommate. She is a hoot and had me giggling more than once.
Ella has created another book boyfriend that will be hard to get over. I love the way she writes men and how they are so family oriented, love with all their hearts, and are so devoted. She creates stories that wholeheartedly grip me and suck me into the life of each character, each and every time I pick up one of her books. As I'm reading I can always picture down to the last detail what is going on in that scene of the book. To me that is what makes a wonderful wordsmith. Not to mention she has a wickedly amazing dirty mind.. ;)
If you love rocker romances, menage, alphas, hot men, hotter than hell sexy times, and a book that grabs you from the first page, I recommend you pick up ANY of Ella's books. Cole's story was amazing and I recommend it to my fellow smut readers 100%.
Cole has a commitment issue. Well, not so much a commitment issue as he needs 2 extra in his relationships. Until Devon. He falls head over heels for her but stills want s to make the offer to Ian to,share. They begin their relationship as a clue and realize it can work with just them two. I wish I would have reread the first to , but I struggled remembering . It was awesome. Made me want to go back and start the Hart family all, over. That series rocked . Highly recommend this book.
It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Ella Fox. She never fails to give me a story that packs the most intense heat, the perfect build, and that gives me characters that are so beyond easy to fall for. Each and every one of her stories have this intensity to this, this emotional and visceral pull that lures you in heart first, and that has you practically melting and falling even more on every page. Her stories are exciting, so well-paced, and they pack the best kind of punch in more ways than one.
Between Us had all that I’ve come to love and appreciate about her outstanding writing, and it gave me a story I have been wanting and needing for so long.
This book was consuming, it was so easy to sink right into, and it put me back with some of the most memorable characters I have ever read. From the first page of this book, I was completely enraptured with Cole and Devon as they tried to figure out how they could be together. Ella Fox completely connected me to both of these characters in this book. She let me experience every event with them, and she let me understand exactly why he was so hesitant, and why she wanted him to give in so desperately.
Every page of this book gave me more of them to love and care and fight for, and the further I read, the further I fell for everything those two were sharing. It was equal parts heated and emotional and real, and I loved every bit of it.
Ever since I read the first book in The Renegade Saints Series, I have been eager to get Cole’s story. I got hints of what was going on with him in Picture Perfect, and I was beyond ready to get into his head to see what was really going on. I was also super ready to get to know Devon and Cole more, because from the moment I met them, I knew that I would love them. (And boy was I right on that one!) Ella Fox did a phenomenal job of weaving together everything that happens between Devon and Cole into the story that I’ve already to come to know and love with this series and these other supporting characters. She gave me so much of them, and it complimented everything else going on so well, and really it just made me love this series even more.
Cole definitely goes on a bit of journey in this book. The way that Ella Fox starts this book allows you to really understand why Cole feels the way he does about commitment and being in a relationship. She gives you such a phenomenal understanding of him, his fears and his doubts and how they take root and continue to grow, and you get to see him at so many important parts of his life. Then you get to see him as he meets Devon, and when everything starts to change for him. Ella Fox allows you to be there through every moment of this book with him, and she really allows you to see how Devon starts to affect him and the way he thinks and feels about relationships. It isn’t always easy for Cole in this book, and there were so many times while reading this book that I wanted to reach it in and make it all better for him, but through every turn of the page I was with him and rooting for him that he would figure it all out. Getting to be there as he figured out what he really wanted and what he could really give to Devon was everything, and I loved every word of it.
Devon’s character charmed me to pieces from the moment I met her in this series, and I fell even more in love with her character while reading this book. Devon just has this spunk about her that bursts from the page, and she was such an engaging character to get to experience. I loved that fire and spark that she had, and how she poured herself so truly and fully into everything she was doing and feeling in this book. The more I read Between Us, the more I connected to her character. I loved getting to be there with her as she started falling for Cole, and as she really determined what it is she was feeling and wanting with him. Like Cole, Devon goes on a bit of a journey in this book, and every step of that journey made me fall even more for her charm, her energy, and the phenomenal vibrancy that exuded from her.
Ella Fox certainly knows how to build some intense heat, and the chemistry and build that she creates between Cole and Devon certainly had that heat in spades. The more I read this book, the more I fell under the pull that those two shared, and Ella Fox allowed me to feel every lick of what those two did for one another. The sexual chemistry and tension between them is so thick, you can practically cut it with a knife, and the more these two try to figure out what they could share and where it could lead, the more I felt that glorious tension. What Cole and Devon share is heated, real, and so raw and visceral on the deepest level, and I loved every single moment of this book that allowed me to feel that.
A huge part of the story in Between Us focuses on Cole’s journey to figuring out what it is he wants and needs, and how Devon could just be the one who changes everything. Along with Cole, Devon goes on a journey of discovering what it is her and Cole could share, if she allows herself to give into it, and if she’s able to help Cole figure out what he wants for the two of them. Both of these characters are giving into something new and seeing what that something new could bring them, and through every page of this book you become more invested in them finding and accepting that something new. Ella Fox hooks you into every bit of what Cole and Devon share together, every fear and worry they have, and every ounce of feeling they share with each other, and that will have you loving them both so much as they see what they could really have together.
Ella Fox certainly knows how to create a world of characters that find themselves right in your heart. I was beyond thrilled to be back with the amazing and distinctive characters of this series, and I absolutely loved every bit I got with them in this book. Gram and Pop, Flynn and Tessa, Gavin and Tyson were just the best, and I truly couldn’t get enough of them, and I absolutely loved getting to meet Lana in this book too. Ella Fox gives you so many memorable moments with them all, and she even hints at what’s to come next. It’s easy to say I heart these characters something fierce, and I can’t wait for more of them. Every moment with them all in this book and all these characters’ interactions with Cole and Devon made me love them even more. They’ll make you smile and laugh and feel so much, and that is just the best.
Between Us is a story about what happens when you meet that one person who can change everything. It’s about what happens when you meet someone who makes you second guess everything you think you know about yourself, and everything you thought you wanted. It’s about what happens when that person gives you hope, makes you look twice at those fears and doubts you’ve always had, and how that one person might just be exactly what you need.
This book is about taking chances, feeling it all, and experiencing the mesmerizing and heart melting things that can happen with that right person, as long as you let yourself actually have it.
Cole and Devon’s story in this book had the best level of heat, build, tension, and emotion, and it gave me so much of them to love. The more I experienced this book with them, the more I hoped with all that I had that they would be able to figure it all out. Ella Fox brought their story to life in a way that felt right, felt so good to read, and felt completely fulfilling. I can’t wait to read more of this series, and to get more of Ella’s phenomenal writing. I truly can’t get enough of this book, and everything I read in Between Us proved that over and over again!
Cole is the guitarist for the Renegade Saints and the band being on the farewell tour.
Cole has always been wary of falling in love, so he masks his feelings behind group sex no one on ones, you see Cole prefers it this way, it guards his heart for either male or female attention.
Suddenly when the director of their farewell tour Devon is introduced Cole can't fathom out why he's so attracted to her because he's never felt this way about any singular person before. He finds himself wanting to spend time with her without another, even in the bedroom.
Devon is mutually attracted to Cole and is even willing to be part of a threesome, but what will happen when she shows him how things can be, will Cole awaken to the sensation that sharing might not be an option when it comes to Devon.
Coles book shows sometimes you've got to take a chance on what feels right and finding your own happiness when you realise that what you always thought was impossible, is possible, with the right someone.
Tsk I already knew that nothing was going to happen between Ian, Cole, and Devon. Like um hello, Ian wasn't feeling that route at all, I could tell by how he was acting and how he dodge them a lot. Plus I was glad when Cole finally gave into the one person relationship. Like boy, if you don't get your guitar playing self over there and cuff Devon. Someone else will get her. Like that was going to happen, lol not without his say so. BTW, I thought Cole, was a little freak, not little but a BIG freak. Like dang boy.
This book was good like the last 2. I shouldn't have read this book lol. I already knew what the deal was once I started on it. He and Devon was going to date. And Ian was scared as dog with its tail cut off. Man I understood his situation where he didn't want the 3 some. But man give me two women I would've been like he'll fucking yeah. I couldn't blame him not because he was a Virgin. But having to have sex with a bisexual man and a straight female. Hell no. But glad Cole ended up with Devon. He was scared as hell but didn't want her with Ian lol.
After watching Flynn's dad melt down when his wife died when they were just 7 years old, Cole has lived his life believing love is a weakness that has the power to destroy you. Add in Gavin's horror show parents and a traumatic experience for Tyson when they were a little older, and his decision was made: one on one relationships were never going to be in his future, not when giving one person that much power over you could lead to your own self- destruction. Then he meets Devon and finds himself wanting to break his own rules for the first time ever, and the realization nearly sends him into a panic attack.
Devon is the holy grail of women to him: beautiful with curves in all the right places, an easygoing demeanor that lets her roll with the punches without getting dramatic, a sense of humor that matches his own and a sizzling chemistry that threatens to bring him to his knees. When he walked into the kick off meeting for the Renegade Saints final tour and saw biographer Ian and documentary director Devon sitting side by side, he thought he had found two people to spend some quality time with for the next few months. He never expected to feel like he was struck by a bolt of lightning when he laid eyes on Devon for the first time and although he tries to stick with the tried and true methods that he operated by for years, his inner caveman quickly rebels against the thought of sharing her as he gets to know her better. Since Ian is a hot mess who is having an identity crisis when it comes to his sexuality, the issue doesn't immediately come to a head and Cole is relieved to be able to try to fool himself a bit longer.
Devon and Cole fall into an easy relationship both inside and outside the bedroom before he realizes what is happening, and although Devon was originally open to the idea, the more time she spends with Cole, the more she realizes she doesn't want anyone besides him in her life or her bed. As much as he tries to deny it, he knows deep down that he doesn't want to include Ian in what is developing between them either. Every time he tries to reconcile that knowledge with the convictions he has held for years, he has a minor freak out until Flynn finally sees his best friend's struggles and steps in to give him the pep talk and support he needs.
Between Us occurs mostly in parallel with Flynn's story although there is very little crossover between the two books making it very easy to read each book in the series as a standalone, and the Harts are a brief part of the story too. I love the friendship and deep bonds between the Renegade Saints band members and families, and Flynn's Gram and Pop are so much a part of Cole's life that it doesn't matter one bit that he is not their blood. I love Gram's firecracker personality and her tweets to her very own followers too - I had forgotten how much I enjoyed her in Picture Perfect! Devon's best friend and roommate Lana added a wonderful bit of levity to the story with her quick wit and no filter conversations. If you enjoy a great romance with family, friends, laughter, steam and love - oh and a few hot rockers too- then definitely check out Between Us and the Renegade Saints series today!
The third book in the Renegade Saints is here! Ella introduces Cole Hayes in true Ella Fox form. Sexy as hell and a bit jaded about love. Cole is different from Gavin and Flynn, but like his other band mates he could melt the panties off of anyone. I loved Cole’s level of comfort with his bisexuality. He had a loving and supportive family, but obviously there is “something” (nope, no spoilers) that has made it hard for Cole to want to commit to anyone.
That brings us to the sweet and sassy Devon. The girl has the patience of a saint! (Was that a pun?) She is strong, talented, and will knock your socks off. Oh and her BFF, Lana, deserves a bit of recognition here. The woman had me laughing out loud with some of her one-liners, but you need to read the book to get those. There is also Ian, who plays a pivotal role throughout the book and I really went back and forth on how I felt for the man. There were tingly and curious parts for me also. I wondered what Ella would do because Cole didn’t believe in traditional types of relationships and he shared women. It was definitely an interesting twist on things.
There is a slow simmer to start off when Cole and Devon meet, but it quickly gets to the boiling point and because of Cole’s fears there are some “conditions” that make for some seriously hot sex scenes. CREATIVE, is the word I would use. The emotions are what grab you though. I mentioned Cole had a wonderful family structure and I love his interaction with them throughout the story. Seriously, Gram’s brownies are legendary! I did get a little choked up with the first few pages, but I am a mush ball when it comes to certain things.
This book draws out those feeling of desire, want, passion, and loyalty. Ella always has a way of doing that with her words. “Between Us” had me connecting with the characters. I laughed, cried (a little), hoped, swooned, and hell I was even a bit nervous at a few points, but I LOVED Cole’s story. The man with the golden hands held me and had me adjusting in my seat with some of his antics. Also I am calling you out now with Tyson, Ella. Don't think I am not already freaking over out the crumb trail you left us in this book.
This can totally be read as a stand alone, but I assure you that you would be missing out. Do you like music, romance, sexy, possessive type of rock star romances? Then this is the series for you! Also I am calling you out now with Tyson, Ella. Don't think I am not already freaking over out the crumb trail you left us in this book.
Between Us is the third book in the Renegade Saints series and it's main focus is on the man with the magical hands - lead guitarist - Cole Hayes. At the start of this series it was always made very clear that Cole considers himself bisexual and that he preferred a third person in his relationships. I went in to this book thinking it was going to be a menage relationship as the other books in the series had hinted that Cole only has that type of relationship but I ended up being completely surprised at the route this book took. Please be advised M/M loving is discussed and it is done so minimally but reader beware.
Devon Bannister is the one tasked with filming the band's documentary and can't believe her luck when she is picked out of all the applicants to land the job of recording Renegade Saint's Farewell Tour and the telling of all the member's life stories. Devon has been a fan of the band for years just like the rest of the general population but when she meets them in person she feels an instant connection with one member in particular. The more time Devon spends with Cole the deeper the connection they seem to develop but he keeps telling her they need to wait for Ian to decide if he is all in or not...
Ian Monroe is the band's biographer and has been interviewing all the members of Renegade Saint's for the last week. Ian is the quintessential California boy with the blond hair / blue eyes / toned physique that would look more at home on a surfboard then anything else. Cole is attracted to the man and makes no secret about wanting him to join in on his relationship with Devon. While Ian isn't decided exactly what he wants he asks for time to make up his mind about whether or not he wants to join them...
Cole Hayes is a devilishly handsome man that is all about having a good time. As long as everyone is on the same page and no one gets hurt then he figures he can play his guitar and hook-up with both male and female partners simultaneously. Cole has fierce commitment issues that stem from things that he witnessed as a child and chooses never to get close enough to get hurt. What Cole didn't expect was breaking his rules for Devon while waiting on Ian to decide if he was going to join in on the fun...
I love the Renegade Saint's family and I seriously want Grandma Rand as part of my own family. With only one band member's story left I am getting nervous because I am pretty sure Tyson's book will slay me. I literally can't wait to read it though :)
Between Us is the third book in the Renegade Saints series. I've always wondered about Cole and his relationship with Ian and Devon from the previous books. I couldn’t wait to read how their relationship worked. I know Cole and Devon wanted Ian, but Ian was hesitant to join them. Going into Between Us, I didn’t know what to expect other than extreme hotness and I am here to tell you Ms. Fox did not disappoint. She brought on the sexy with the sizzle. While I won’t say how the three-way relationship worked out or how it ended, I will tell you that you are in for a funny, sexy and deliciously wicked ride from beginning to end. To say I devoured this book is an understatement. I found myself laughing so hard that tears were streaming down my face. I found myself shedding tears of sadness one moment then swooning over the wicked sexiness that is Cole Hayes the next. The sexual tension between the characters is scorching and will keep you on the edge of your seat and your panties melted!!!
"I promised myself I’d never fall so in love with someone that I’d be in danger of losing myself if they were gone. Not me. Not ever."
"Whether it’s due to the consumption of alcohol or just proximity to us, the next thing I know Ian is dancing with Cole and me. Cole is at my back, Ian my front, and there’s definitely something super sexual about the whole thing."
Cole is accustomed to the lifestyle of sharing women, but what happens when he finds himself feeling things he’s never felt before for this new woman in his life? Will Cole be able to handle a shared relationship or will he fight to keep her for himself? You have to pick up Between Us to read all the hotness for yourself. I loved the relationship between Devon and her BFF, Lana. Lana is a fun loving lesbian who I absolutely fell in love and her no-filter mouth. Just get ready for Lana and her ridiculously crazy mouth because she will have you laughing to the point of pissing your pants. Ms. Fox may have just topped my all time favorite book boyfriend and blown him out of the water with Cole Hayes and his badass magical mouth! 5 deliciously dangerous and devilishly sexy stars for another fabulous read!!!This review was originally posted on Fiction Fangirls
Between Us by Ella Fox is the third book in her Renegade Saints series. This book ties into her Hart Family series, among others, and while it was not necessary to have read those books prior to reading the first book in this series, there are events in this book that can seem overwhelming and confusing if you have not read the other books. You get enough details to get you through the scenes but it would be better to have full knowledge of the events that took place. Either way you go, if you have the time and inclination, I do recommend you read each series, as a whole, in order.
This is the story of Cole Hayes and Devon Bannister. Another beautifully written story about breaking through emotional barriers and coming out the other side a better, stronger person. Cole and Flynn have been best friends since they were in diapers. They lived next door to each other, viewed each other as brothers. When Flynn's mom passes it is a devastating time for the young boys. Cole mourns for the woman who was a second mother to him AND for the loss his best friend is suffering. After witnessing the devastating toll the loss takes on FLynn's father Todd, Cole makes an unconscious decision to never allow one person to mean so much to him that it would devastate him that much. Thus begins the basis for his sexual proclivities of always being in a threesome, preferably m/f/m, that way no one connection ever develops too strongly.
This is where Devon comes into the picture. Hired as the director for the documentary the band is having done while they are on their farewell tour the chemistry is instantaneous. Neither one understands it and due to Cole's needs, he tries to pull the biographer Ian into the mix. Devon, however, isn't as on board with the sharing as Cole is. And then, people, things get interesting.
Once again, deep and emotional writing that is still light-hearted and romantic enough that it won't leave you sobbing and rocking yourself in a corner somewhere. I loved it. Ella Fox has fast become a must-read author for me.
This is Book Three in the Renegade Saints series and it's Cole and Devon's story and what a story it is. If you've read the first two books, which I HIGHLY recommend, you know some of Cole's history and his feelings about relationships in general. Although we get a much more in depth look into his psyche and why he is the way he is this book.
We meet Devon when she's selected as the director for a Documentary on the Renegade Saints and their last world tour before retiring. They've accomplished more than they ever thought they would and want to go out on a high note. There's a pun in that statement, but you'll need to read the book to understand it. There is an immediate draw between Cole and Devon oh and the Ian who's also part of the documentary staff. Cole's sexuality isn't a surprise to his family or band mates, but comes as a little bit of a shocker to Devon and Ian. There's also a draw between Ian and Cole and Ian and Devon, but are they all willing to explore what this means to all of them? Devon's willing to explore this side for Cole, but is it something she can do the rest of her life?
Ms. Fox does a wonderful job of drawing the pictures for this book with all the details she provides. I can see each scene in my head and I really felt like I was there! This whole story is almost a coming of age for Cole and Devon and who they ultimately want to be "when they grow up." Can Cole find love and happiness with just one person? Is Devon that person? What happens when the tour is over?
Since I don't give spoilers in my reviews, I will tell you this is my favorite book of the series and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and was drawn into the book from the first few paragraphs. Ty's book is next and I have a feeling it's going to be an emotional roller coaster and I can't wait to get on that ride!!
Cole Hayes is the sexier than hell guitarist for the Renegade Saints. He’s living the dream of a rock star and enjoys male and female companions and prefers to have them both…at the same time. He’s completely comfortable with his bisexual lifestyle and if anyone wants to be with him, they need to be open to a ménage relationship. Cole meets Ian Monroe, the biographer that is documenting the final world tour. He gets a sense that Ian feels the attraction between them but he’s not willing to admit it to Cole or to himself. Cole is willing to wait for him to see what they could have with a third. And then he meets Devon. All he knows are ménages but Devon is making him feel things he didn’t think he could feel for just one person.
Devon Bannister is a confident and talented director that just got picked to do the job of a lifetime. She’s going to direct the documentary on the final world tour of the Renegade Saints. She is super excited about the opportunities this job will bring. She has been working her tail off for years and doesn’t have time to date. Then she meets Ian, the biographer of the tour and she can’t help but notice the sexy man. She is barely keeping herself together when she meets Cole. She can’t believe that she is attracted to two men. But she senses that something is going on between Cole and Ian, so maybe she doesn’t have to choose.
The dynamics between Cole, Ian and Devon is intriguing. And if you read the first two books of the Renegade Saints books, you think you know what will happen. But Ella Fox is going to take you for an interesting ride. I have no doubt that you will love what will happen with these characters and I promise you will love this story.
Between Us by Ella Fox is a emotional romance with heat. Cole Hayes, guitarist for The Renegade Saints, has seen pain. As a child he watched loved ones around him break because of loosing their loved ones and he vowed to himself that wouldn't happen to him. Menage is the answer to keeping his heart intact. Women & men, any combo to make three. When Renegade Saints decide to retire they hire a team to document and tell their story for their fans while on their final tour. Devon Bannister, up and coming documentary director, can't wait to start her newest job traveling the world with the band sounds like a dream. Cole stakes his claim on Devon but while waiting for a third to open up to the idea Cole starts to question his rules and wonders if he can share her after all.
This book had some steaming hot sex scenes and the chemistry between Cole and Devon is undeniable. I personally didn't buy the whole needing a third and Cole's choice of who that would be. I really thought this book would have some menage scenes but if you are looking for that you won't find it here. This book is part 3 of a series though it was my first read of the series, when signing up to review I didn't notice it was a series. I was able to follow the story-line but I did feel like I was missing out on something and we are left not with a cliffhanger but with a need to know the final band members story, from the reaction of Devon it's completely heartbreaking. 3.5 Stars for Between Us by Ella Fox

Between Us is the 3rd in the Renegade Saints series and is Cole Hayes’s story. He is bi-sexual and has struggled with this all his life. His family and friends have supported him but Cole never has been able to have a one on one relationship until he met her-- Devon Bannister, the lady who is the director who will be directing the documentary on the band. Devon and Cole go on this journey that has these high’s and lows. For Devon, she has never been with a man who had to have 3somes in a relationship to be happy. Will this be something that will break them or will Devon realize this is something new about her and open her up in her sexuality? Will Cole realize he didn’t want 3somes but wanted to keep Devon to himself? And what about Ian , where does he come into their relationship? This is a beautifully heartbreaking story that will have you reaching for tissues because this is one story that isn’t about right or wrong, its about choices and how we live by them and how others who love us, respect our choices. What a powerful story and I loved how it ended up. What a great story and I loved the ending. There are times in this story that I questioned where it was going but WOW I loved where the book took me , took me in its journey. What beautiful MCs and their life story, it truly was one for the 2016—one of the best books of 2016.
My rating: 4.6 stars ****
**I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review***
Between Us is the 3rd installment in the Renegade Saints series and I was eagerly anticipating Cole, Devon and Ian's story. They've appeared in the other books and I've always wondered about the dynamic between them. The book starts off going back in time to give the reader an explanation about why Cole prefers "non-traditional" relationships. He won't ever let himself be in a one-on-one relationship because of events he experienced as a child, insisting there always be a third person involved. Ian is afraid to get involved in this type of relationship so Cole and Devon move forward when neither one can keep their distance. What develops between them is a beautiful story of love, acceptance and trust. Neither Cole nor Devon expected to fall in love yet they embrace their new relationship from the start. There are bumps along the way, including Ian trying to jump back into the mix and Cole keeping secrets about why he prefers non-traditional relationships, but Cole and Devon come out of it with a happily ever after ending that will make you smile. As with the other Renegade Saints books, this one is hot and steamy and oh-so-fun. I can't wait for book #4 to finally learn Tyson's secrets that are alluded to throughout Between us.
Devon Bannister has just landed her big break. She will be shooting a documentary of the Renegade Saints' farewell tour. Is it such a bad thing to be in serious lust with a member of the band she's working for? Cole Hayes has rules, rules that have served him well in the past. But to what end? He is more than attracted to the beautiful filmmaker but he can't let himself be open to the kind of pain he witnessed firsthand. This is the third book in the series. With every book I read of this series, I love them more. Cole and Devon were both introduced in the first book and the other characters make an appearance in this one, I love how Devon is a self-assured and open-minded woman. I love that Cole is a down-to-earth rock star. They each have their own issues but they don't let them keep them from growing as people. The storyline follows much the same path as the other books but follows these two specifically. This one also provides a little more insight of what happened to the Renegade Saints thru Cole's eyes. I applaud the author's courage in taking on a complicated love story and I was captivated by how she weaved the story thru an already established timeline. I am really looking forward to the next story in this series.
Losing someone you love at a young age is heartbreaking. Experiencing also the loss of a mother figure is devastating. Watching the implosion of a husband after losing his wife, a couple who have been in this child's life from the beginning of his memory, will leave a lasting effect. In this case, the resolution to never fall in love so deeply you will feel you cannot go on if you lose that someone.
This is Cole's story. He is known for his "hit it and quit it" attitude, as well as his bisexuality. Menage is his only way to intimacy, and for the matter, an intimacy that only lasts however long it takes to perform the act to his satisfaction. He never allows himself to have a one-on-one relationship or encounter. This is how he safeguards his heart. Until he meets Devon.
Devon is a breath of fresh air. Mature beyond her years, she is the stable heartbeat of this improbable romance. This is their journey to find love, trust, and forever. Not easy when you are surrounded by the rock 'n roll life.
I enjoyed reading this story. I also wished the author would have gone more in depth into the emotional relationship and less of the sexual drive. All in all, this is an erotic dream for anyone looking for a good break.
I love this series. The Renegade Saints have quickly become a top favorite of mine. Ella Fox is a real gem and she has definitely found a new fan in me. Between Us is the third book in this series but can be read as a standalone. This book was quick, sexy, sweet, passionate, intense, quite edgy at times, and left me smiling big by the end.
If you have read this series, then you are familiar with Cole and some of the rules he follows. We have gotten glimpses of him through others eyes and now it is time for him to tell his story. Starting from the beginning, we get glimpses of his world growing up leading him to the man he is today. Cole is complicated, intense, and intriguing.
Enter Devon. She shakes up his world and makes him realize that things are at simple as he tries to make them. Can he share Devon? Will he keep her for himself? Will Devon be open to his lifestyle? These two.. or three are going to spice up your life. I fell head over heels in love with this story. Ella Fox once again rocked my entire world.
Guitarist Cole Hayes hasn't had the easiest of lives, which why at a young age he has vowed never to fall in love. Cole has never had a one on one relationship, it has always been a 3 way and he intends to keep it that way.
Devon Bannister has been hired to film the Documentary of Cole's Band on the road and behind the scenes of their last tour. There is an instant chemistry between Devon and Cole, but can Devon but her feelings and heart on the line to live by Cole's Rules?
A story telling the tale of Life's Up's and Down's, from Happiness, to sadness and grief, and also the cutest grandad ever that I want for myself. It is also a story of finding that someone who makes you look at the world and Life in a whole new way.
Devon and Cole are such lovable characters. Cole the swoon worthy guitarist to get your pulse racing, and Devon the lovable girl next door who wears her heart on her Sleeve. While I wanted to tell Cole to get a grip at times and trying to urge Devon to give back an extra bit of fight, these two will hold a special place in my heart. A truly beautiful, Sexy must read with a HEA, This will definitely pluck at those heart strings.
